Over the course of ownership the chassis of this vehicle has gotten horrendously corroded, which has caused structural components of the frame to begin to develop rust holes needing repair. I am the original owner of a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 (VIN: [XXX] ) and began experiencing serious mechanical and electrical issues while the vehicle was still under warranty around 40,000 miles. These included engine RPM fluctuations at idle, vibrations under acceleration above 65 MPH, and intermittent misfiring — all symptoms that are now believed to be early indicators of defective lifters or val
... ve train components. I also experienced repeated electrical failures including a rear turn signal malfunction due to melting/corroded taillight sockets, a thumping rear-end noise, differential knocking, and body panel issues (hood lifting at highway speeds). These were reported multiple times to authorized GMC dealers (Mike Haggerty GMC and Rizza GMC), but I was told there was no issue or no repairs were made. GM refused to assist when I escalated the issue in 2017 via a detailed email, despite all problems occurring within the warranty period. I’m now dealing with a persistent ticking sound from the engine and loss of power, which matches widespread reports of lifter failure in GM’s 5.3L/6.2L V8 engines. These failures pose both a mechanical and safety risk due to stalling, misfiring, and potential electrical fires (in my case, from a failed taillight socket). A class action lawsuit ([XXX], et al. v. General Motors LLC) has been filed regarding these known defects, yet GM has not issued a recall. I’m filing this complaint to add my case to the record and urge NHTSA to investigate these issues. I have full documentation of the original complaint and am willing to provide it upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am formally submitting a vehicle defect complaint regarding my 2016 Lexus RX 450h, which is experiencing premature and extensive paint degradation, including clear coat peeling, flaking, and fading. This issue is not due to environmental exposure or neglect, but rather a clear indicator of a factory defect related to substandard paint application and adhesion failure. This concern directly alig
... ns with known and previously acknowledged factory paint failures affecting both Lexus and Toyota vehicles. Numerous Customer Support Programs (CSPs) and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) have been launched by Toyota Motor Corporation to address: •Faulty clear coat adhesion •Improper surface preparation during manufacturing •Delamination and premature degradation of factory-applied paint, particularly in white pearl and other finishes Despite wide acknowledgment of these issues in prior campaigns (such as CSP ZKC and others involving Lexus RX, ES, and LS models), my vehicle’s VIN was not included—despite exhibiting identical symptoms. Given the extensive documentation of these defects, I am requesting the following: 1.A formal investigation into the paint failure affecting my Lexus RX 450h. 2.Written acknowledgment of this known issue and confirmation whether this VIN has been or should be included in past or upcoming CSPs. 3.Immediate corrective action including paint restoration or full vehicle repaint at no cost. 4.Clarification on why Lexus has failed to expand prior paint-related CSPs to include other affected model years and VINs despite continued customer complaints. This message is being concurrently submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for independent review under potential consumer safety, quality compliance, and warranty oversight. I expect a formal response within 10 business days of receipt. Failure to act appropriately will prompt further legal and media inquiries to ensure transparent processing.Read more

Hello, I wish to report this injury / incident with the failure of the power running boards on my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Limited. There are no warning Lamps on the vehicle. I could turn off the engine after driving, but the key stays in the position between the engine being on and the car being off (for example when you can listen to music but your car isn’t running). The battery light came on after the issue started and so the car service place charged us to replace the battery, because they had to turn on and of the car a lot and the car had to continue to run.
... I took it to a car service place and they ran tests and called Chevy test support to run diagnosis tests. They can’t figure it out. They think it might be the body control module. Not sure what that is. The car only has 31,000 miles on it and this is a safety issue because what if this happens and the steering wheel locks or it becomes a rolling hazard. This would affect the driver and others. There were no lights or errors indicating a problem before this happened.Read more

A check engine Illuminated giving us an error code referencing our solenoid that works in pair with our fuel system. After checking the car and going inside for about two hours, my husband came to me and asked what happened to the backseat as the entire thing had been pulled up and underneath it was a very pressurized and round fuel system. I proceeded to call the car dealership service department and told them the codes and everything I was showing and what was happening and asked when I could get the car to them, and if it was safe to ride, they said if it’s still ran to go smoothly to the dealership which was a 10 minute drive. As directed by the dealership I brought the car for service and I also located a voluntary emissions report that Kia issued in April of 2024 along with a copy of letters said to be sent to each owner of my make and model. I never received these letters and update not completed. Kia failed to effectively notify all owners of this potential issue with an over pressurized fuel system, putting myself and my children in great risk. Kia America stated they needed to study my car. I am writing to report a serious and unacceptable issue with the exterior paint and clear coat on my 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The clear coat has become dull and faded on the hood and roof, and the side panels are beginning to chip and peel, despite regular washing and maintenance. This paint deterioration started well before what would be expected in a properly manufactured vehicle finish, especial
... ly for one that has been well cared for and is only a few years old. The vehicle has never been in an accident, and the finish failure appears to be due to a defect in the clear coat or paint application process at the factory. This not only affects the appearance and value of the vehicle, but also raises concerns about long-term body protection. Once the clear coat is compromised, the base paint and metal underneath are more susceptible to rust and corrosion. There are countless reports online of other GM vehicle owners experiencing similar issues, and I believe this should be investigated as a widespread manufacturing defect. I request that GM address this issue, either through a recall or a goodwill repair/paint reimbursement program. Vehicle Details: Year: 2016 Make: Chevrolet Model: Malibu E2 Color: Black Thank you for your time and attention. I hope to see GM stand behind its product and take responsibility for this defect. Ford provides a spare tire with their 2024 Maverick pickup truck, but does not provide a safe way to transport a damaged tire after performing a tire change. Ford's Owner's Manual for the Maverick shows on page 363 how the damaged tire is to be secured in the bed of the truck using the provided strap tied diagonally to one of the D-rings at the front of the bed and one of the cleats at the rear
... . Both tie down points for the strap are low enough in the bed to create a vertical force on the damaged tire and hold it down on the bed. Ford has not equipped the base model, known as Maverick XL, with the two D-rings shown in the manual. The only alternative tie down point at the front corners is a pair of cleats that are too high on the bed wall to put a vertical force on the tire. (These other cleats are shown in their Flex Bed diagram.) If attempted, the tire would be held down only by gravity and likely become a dangerous projectile. It would also be inadvisable to stow the damaged tire under the truck bed taking the place where the spare had been stored. If attempted, a damaged tire could have treads or steel cords hanging from it, which could either come in contact with a hot exhaust system or the cords could drag on the road and potentially spark a wildfire the way tow chains sometimes do. Ford's engineers have, in my opinion, designated in its Maverick Owner's Manual the only safe way to stow a damaged tire after using the Maverick's spare tire for an emergency tire change. Ford has provided the strap to secure the tire, but has not equipped all trim levels of the Maverick with the D-rings. Ford needs to provide Maverick XL owners with the two missing D-rings as well as the fasteners to mount them on the truck bed. It may also need to provide the correct size tapping tool if the existing holes were not threaded at the factory. This would remedy the inability to safely carry a damaged tire and also align with Owner's Manual instructions.Read more
