A-pillar/hinge integrity engineering concern. While opening my door in a parking lot, the wind caught the door before I could catch the door. The door met the hinge stop and flexed enough for the edge of the door panel to contact a bolt on the A-pillar door hinge assembly, causing a small crease in the aluminum door panel. My concern is that in 30 years of driving, I have had a door caught be
... wind before but never had damage to the vehicle. This was not a strong wind, just enough to catch the door. The A-pillar is now flexed slightly such that the door panel gap is larger and seems related to the actual A-pillar flex, not a hinge failure. Vehicle testing of the 22 Ford Expedition has show some poor performance in the A-pillar area and I am concerned that this door issue is due to poor engineering and strength of the A-pillar. I have had the vehicle inspected at the Ford dealership and a customer service complain with Ford is in process. I do not feel this issue can be attributed to user error or considered "accidental" but is due to structural/safety deficiency of the A-pillar structure. Background Toyota has received reports of paint peeling on certain vehicles with the original factory-applied Blizzard Pearl or Super White paint colors. These reports indicate that vehicles with these specific paint colors, applied during the vehicle manufacturing process, may experience paint peeling on exterior metal body panels. ... Vehicle Limited Warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first), we at Toyota care about the customers’ ownership experience. Toyota is providing coverage for repairs related to the condition described above. The following information is provided to inform you and your staff of the program notification schedule and your degree of involvement. Customer Support Program Coverage Details This Customer Support Program provides coverage for involved vehicles with the original factory Blizzard Pearl or Super White paint. The covered condition may occur when sunlight over time degrades the adhesion between the factory-applied paint primer coat layer and the base metal electrodeposition layer causing the paint to peel from the metal body panel. If the condition is verified, the specific panel affected will be repainted. · The Primary Coverage will be offered until December 11, 2022, regardless of mileage. · After the Primary Coverage, the Secondary Coverage is applicable for 10 years from the date of first use, regardless of mileage. My vehicle is a 2017 Toyota Prius prime with Blizzard pearl 070 paint and I am experiencing terrible paint chipping. My hood, roof, and A Pilars are starting to rust. When I tried speaking to Toyota dealerships and corporate about this issue they refused to help and said there's nothing they can do because my vin doesn't match the recall. The fact that this same paint code is showing such wear despite my vehicle being newer that the recalled vehicles should automatically make me a candidate for a paint replacement on the damaged areas.Read more

This is a supplemental update to Complaint #11656525 regarding NHTSA Recall 25V170 for my 2024 Tesla Cybertruck (VIN: [XXX] ). On [XXX], Tesla returned my vehicle after performing the recall repair. However, the results are visibly flawed on both sides of the vehicle. One side of the cant rail panel overlaps and is misaligned, while the opposite side is spaced too far apart, leaving a visible gap
... . The right-side gasket was not seated and required me to manually push it back into place. When I raised concerns, Tesla acknowledged that the misalignment exceeds their own internal tolerance threshold, and I was told that it was due to engineering limitations with the replacement parts. They also indicated I may need to return for new parts once a proper fix is available — implying the current repair may not be final or sufficient. This leaves me driving a vehicle that, in my view, remains structurally compromised, potentially vulnerable to panel instability, water intrusion, or corrosion — especially given Colorado’s weather and road conditions. The original recall involved panels detaching while driving. This level of misfitment does not inspire confidence in the safety or durability of the so-called remedy. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The exterior door handles and latching mechanism failed due to freezing in cold weather. When temperatures drop, the door handles become stuck or the latch mechanism fails to engage or disengage properly. This issue is reproducible during cold weather and the affected components are available for ins
... pection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The malfunction poses a safety risk in multiple ways. The doors may not close securely, which could result in a door opening while driving. Conversely, frozen latches can prevent doors from opening, which is a serious concern in the event of an emergency where rapid exit from the vehicle is required. This could endanger both the driver and passengers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The issue has not yet been confirmed by a dealer, but it is a widely documented problem among 2021 Ford F-150 owners, and it occurs consistently during cold weather conditions. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No formal inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives has been conducted to date. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages. The issue was first noticed during freezing temperatures in the winter season. The symptoms are physical—frozen or stuck handles and malfunctioning door latches.Read more

During the first week of March, 2025, my Polestar 3 suffered a total AC charging failure, meaning I was no longer able to charge at home. March 7 I brought the vehicle to Dyer & Dyver Volvo in Atlanta, GA, and they confirmed that the AC charging inverter failed and would have to be replaced. This part took more than two weeks to receive, and I retrieved the vehicle April 1. This issue seemed reso
... lved since then, however two evenings ago I arrived home to discover that once again the Polestar 3 would not charge, and displayed "Charge fault, contact workshop" on the driver display. The inability to charge the vehicle, and its now pattern of trouble, is certainly a safety issue. While my car was in the dealership I also had addressed a failure of the central locking system. All proximity keys refused to lock, or unlock, the vehicle. The only functional method was one of the card-keys supplied by Polestar. This safety issue completely erodes my trust that I will be able to gain access normally to my own vehicle, but may have to use my phone, or a backup card key (necessitating I carry two keys at all times). This issue has once reoccurred since retrieving the vehicle. Lastly, the driver door was not able to be opened from the exterior. The door handle, though extended and in the unlocked position, completely failed to function. The door had to be opened via the interior handle. I find this to be an extremely grave problem. It has not reoccurred.Read more

My tailgate stopped working, I was getting messages on my dash board that there was transmission system problems, reverse warning problems, keyless entry system problems. It's a design defect, water shouldn't sip inside and burn the electrical components. Costing me hundreds/thousands. This is also safety issue because water damaged controllers causing issues with ADAS components too - getting check engine, break lights, etc. while the car is in motion. We took possession of our new 2021 Grand Design 381M fifth-wheel travel trailer in April 2021. During 2021 and 2022, the trailer saw minimal road use. However, during our travels, we observed significant movement within the trailer, and on several occasions, the cargo bay doors opened while in transit. In August, we contacted Grand Design due to visible interior damage and abnormal movement. They
... arranged to pick up the trailer and transport it to their facility for inspection and repair. Grand Design confirmed that the trailer had suffered a frame failure. They reportedly completed the necessary repairs and returned the trailer to us. Unfortunately, not all issues were resolved. In May 2023, the trailer was returned to the facility for additional repairs. Afterward, it was returned to us once again. In August 2024, signs of frame failure reappeared. We contacted Grand Design, and a mobile technician was dispatched to inspect the trailer. The technician confirmed another instance of frame failure. Due to seasonal considerations, we arranged for the trailer to be transported back to Grand Design in March 2025. Repairs were made, and the trailer was returned later that month. We remain deeply concerned about the adequacy and durability of the repairs, and whether the trailer is truly roadworthy and safe. Despite multiple requests, Grand Design has not provided any photos of the frame damage or documentation of the repairs performed. This lack of transparency is especially troubling given the recurring nature of the issue and the broader concerns surrounding frame integrity across multiple Grand Design models. We are left with the impression that the structural integrity of our trailer—and potentially others—has been compromised. We believe this poses a serious safety risk for anyone traveling on U.S. roadways.Read more
