Our frame on our 2022 Grand Design Solitude S Class 3740BH has failed. While towing this RV 5th wheel trailer, we have observed signs of frame flex/failure and now it has been verified by RV tech Justin Douglas of TBD RV Repair out of Denver, IA 319-883-6030. Items to note: Our hitch inbox appears to rise and fall several inches during transport. The front cargo doors and side entrance door
... have opened during transport after being secured. Several pieces of moulding have “pulled” out from shifting along the front trim of the trailer. The afore mentioned left and right sidewalls appear to shift during transport resulting in pulled screws that support the bedroom floor connected to the sidewall. The roof membrane has separated at the front cap from shifting back and forth. We believe they’re maybe be structural damage to the roof and front chin cone as well under the membrane but we have yet to open the roof to protect the rest of the trailer from rain. Cabinetry in the front bedroom has shifted causing separation of the shelves. The thin staples keeping the particle board have fallen back into the front cone. We re-secured them so we could use the closet without items falling into unaccessible parts of the structure. The bedroom and master bath floor squeak and rise and fall (move) when walking on them The bedroom door has also gotten stuck closed after transport due to shifting. The right side leaf spring compensator (CRE device) was cracked from what was believed to be from lateral shifting and was replaced. No lamps or warning messages were applicable for this problem. The police have not been involved at this time nor any insurance as of yet. We feel that if these items are not immediately corrected by Grand Design, this may result in a safety risk on the road.Read more

Rear window ford part number 1542006 - Back window glass has 1" cracks in glass where the glass connects to the body on the left passenger side of the crew cab. Cracks have caused leaks into the cab interior and has caused the modem, mounted behind the rear passenger set on the back wall to stop working as water has infiltrated the electronics. Vehicle was inspected at dealership and their 3rd par
... ty glass leak specialists discovered the cracks in the glass connection. I have no idea as to how long this has been going on, estimate a few months as I recently discovered I could not communicate with the vehicle through the Ford Connect App and called Ford Connect, they identified an issue with the modem and when I pulled back the upholstery to see, there was water dripping inside the vehicle. Unknown if cracks will propagate, however they are leaking when it rains. I will be replacing the glass to prevent further leaks from occurring. I have extended warranty through Ford and "glass" is not covered. Reached out to Ford Care and they would not cover. Suggested that I put in a report here so that if later recall or other action, I might be able to get refund for the repair that I am now going to have to pay for to replace the glass and possibly the modem. No other symptoms other than the filaure of the modem that alerted to the issue.Read more

I was driving very slowly (5 to 10 MPH) through a rain storm on May 28th. The water rose to about 6 inches (fairly still, not rushing water), and I heard a loud and alarming noise under the car. I drove on for one block on a neighborhood street until I could get to higher ground. I discovered that the force of the water pulled down the fabric and plastic shrouds from the wheel-well into the whe
... els. The cloth and plastic shrouds were then pulled under the wheels, and the whole connected assembly was ripped off the car. This caused damage to both front fenders, the front bumper, and possibly to the safety sensors behind the bumper. I took it to my local Toyota dealer the next day, and they said this happens all the time, and that it will cost at least $2,000 to repair -- maybe double that if the safety sensors behind the bumper were damaged. I posted to some forums on-line about this problem, and heard from many other owners of the BZ4X and the identical car from Subaru (Soltera) that they had experienced the same thing. The Toyota dealer is correct -- this happens all the time -- it is clearly a serious design flaw, and it is a serious safety concern. The Toyota dealer has said that this is my problem, not theirs. The Toyota USA customer-service said the same thing. They clearly do not want to accept responsibility for a badly designed front-bumper assembly. This car has less than 3,000 miles on it, and despite my extremely cautious driving, it is already falling apart.Read more

I was forced to break the rear window to rescue her. I was terrified the glass might injure her, but I had no choice. Since then, I have been emotionally traumatized and avoid driving out of fear it will happen again. To my knowledge, this has not yet been inspected by a dealer or Hyundai. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle’s rear structure and frame were compromised. After a low-speed rear-end collision (approximately 5 mph), the frame bent, and the vehicle was declared a total loss by the insurance company. The car is no longer available for inspection as it has been taken by insurance, but documentation
... including photos, insurance reports, and repair estimates is available upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The fact that the frame sustained significant damage in such a low-speed collision raises concerns about the overall durability and crashworthiness of the vehicle. This could indicate that the vehicle might not provide adequate protection in more severe collisions, putting occupants at risk in real-world driving conditions. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the damage was confirmed by the insurance adjuster and an independent collision repair shop, both of whom concluded that the vehicle’s frame was bent. The repair facility stated that the vehicle could not be repaired due to the extent and nature of the frame damage. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, the vehicle was inspected by an insurance adjuster and an independent body shop. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle, and police were not involved as it was a minor collision without injuries. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there were no warning lamps or messages prior to the incident. The issue only became apparent after the vehicle was rear-ended, at which point the structural damage was assessed.Read more

I pulled into my semicircle, long driveway as I do every morning, and stopped at the top by releasing my foot off the accelerator (no need for brakes as it is an EV). I opened the garage door and slowly stepped on the accelerator, but it started to go fast, and I felt out of control. I immediately released my foot off the accelerator (which should have stopped the vehicle) and slammed on the brake
... s (there is proof in my driveway with tire marks leading up to the accident) but still did not stop. I quickly realized I was going to crash into the garage, and possibly into the house, so I steered away as much as I could to only drive into and through the side of the garage wall. The space I had would have given me enough time to stop had the car not been driving at a fast speed. Even the neighbors heard braking and ran outside to see what was happening. There is a recording on a ring cam, and you can hear him say "I heard brakes". Oddly, the massive impact did not deploy the airbags. Also, the car usually records all incidents with time before and after (it has successfully done this before when I was rear ended and will if you get too close to anything), but for some reason it recorded what was labeled "incident" and you can only see me pulling into the driveway, the garage door going up, and then the video stops - no record of the crash. The car should have also detected the house. The car only stopped after driving through concrete and stucco, and up the stairs. House has massive damage, personal items in the garage destroyed, and the vehicle is possibly unsalvageable. It took until the next day to see if we could remove the vehicle from my house, but it is now at the service center and Rivian has been notified. I've since researched online and found countless similar incidents.Read more

Date of Occurrence: Monday, [XXX] While driving on [XXX] in Florida, the Exterior A-Pillar on the Drivers Side Window blew off of my vehicle. The entire thing! My Vehicle has been under a Recall for this very problem. Safety Recall Notice 24S02/NHTSA Recall 24V031. I even had a repair appointment set up at the Dealership that we bought the vehicle from in 2018. Paradise Ford in Cocoa, FL.
... Upon arrival, I was informed that they had no parts and would actually, be calling all of the other clients that were scheduled that day for the same repair. Since then, I have received an additional Letter from the Ford Company letting me know that Parts are still unavailable. Now, that this has occurred, I have reached out to a local Ford Dealership here in Wisconsin (our Primary Residence) and also been told that no parts are available. I am currently awaiting a call back from them as of yesterday 05/29/2025, to see if there are any other options other than them using an off market part to replace the Pillar at my cost (option told to me by their Service Scheduling Girl. Needless to say, we averted a possible very bad situation this past Monday. If this piece, which is rather larger, had hit another car, there could have been a very negative outcome. My complaint is that, I am now driving a vehicle that is missing an important part. I want it fixed. We have been waiting, patiently, for going on 2 years. Upon research, I've seen articles written that these parts have been on Backorder since this recall was initiated. And, that there are approximately 5% of these vehicles that will experience the disengagement of this part(s). Sounds like Ford is dropping the ball on this, big time. What are my options now? I need to get this repaired as well as have the Passenger side Pillar also replaced since one has already 'fallen off'. And, the entire Drivers side Window is now exposed to additional damage/failure without that piece in place. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding a serious design flaw in the Porsche Taycan that allows road debris and rocks to damage its radiator fans and cooling system, posing safety risks. The radiator fans are critical for thermal management in this electric vehicle, cooling the high voltage battery, power electronics, and motors to ensure safe operation, optimal performance, and battery longevity. Damag
... ed fans can lead to overheating, reduced power output, or system shutdowns, increasing the risk of accidents, especially during high-speed or demanding driving conditions. Numerous Taycan owners, including myself, have reported radiator and fan damage from small rocks or debris entering through the front grille or wheel well vents. This issue has caused loud fan noises, reduced cooling efficiency, or complete fan failure, with repair costs ranging from $2000-$7000. I recently had replace both radiator fans in the total repair cost was approximately $6800. Porsche attributes these failures to external road hazards, often denying warranty claims, and owners face costly repairs or filing claims with their car insurance company. The Taycan’s cooling system design is inadequate for a high performance EV marketed for diverse driving conditions, including gravel roads or roads that are going through the process of re-pavement. The exposed fans and radiators are prone to damage, compromising the vehicle’s safety and reliability. This widespread issue warrants a recall to address the design flaw, such as installing robust protective screens or redesigning the cooling system to prevent debris ingress. Without intervention, owners face ongoing safety risks and financial burdens. I urge the NHTSA to investigate and mandate a recall to ensure the Taycan’s critical cooling systems function safely under normal driving conditions.Read more

The following is copied from: NHTSA ID Number: 11487520 Incident Date [XXX] Consumer Location SAN JOSE, CA On nine separate documented occasions, the passenger front wheel molding trim piece, in which one of the proximity sensors is mounted, completely detached, causing the proximity sensor to alarm continuously. On two of these nine occasions, the trim piece detached while the vehicle was trave
... ling on the road, and on one of these two occasions, the vehicle was traveling on the highway at highway speeds. On this occasion, after detaching completely, the trim piece was observed through the rear view and side mirrors, shattering on the road and scattering debris across the highway, potentially causing a traffic hazard for the cars following. On this last occasion, the vehicle was also traveling with the assistance of the Adaptive Cruse Control and Forward Collision Warning features, which both caused the vehicle's emergency avoidance systems to activate when the proximity sensor was falsely triggered. If there were other vehicles nearby, this could have caused a high speed accident as my vehicle executed both an emergency braking and collision avoidance maneuver for no real reason. Please note that I have documented reports of the possible safety issues due to the wheel well trim detaching to the Tesla service department for several of the times I've had the vehicle in for repair. In all nine instances, I've been told that my vehicle is the only one that exhibits this problem. A statement I find difficult to believe as I have observed other vehicles of the same make and model driving around without the trim pieces, and just recently captured a photograph of a Model X driving on the highway with the trim piece detaching as the wind was catching it. See the red arrow in the photograph attached below. This report adds two additional photographs of the same issue that have been taken since the original report was filed.Read more
