I am reporting a paint peeling issue on my 2013 Toyota RAV4 Limited that has the potential to be a safety hazard. This could become a hazard to other vehicles, especially for motorcyclists or drivers behind me who could be hit by the debris. 4.Compromised Vehicle Visibility to Other Drivers: The exposed, uneven patches of primer and metal create an irregular surface, which could affect how my vehicle is seen by others, especially in low-light conditions. This may increase the risk of rear-end collisions due to diminished contrast. Toyota Response: Toyota previously acknowledged this issue with a Warranty Enhancement Program (WEP ZKG) for peeling paint, but I was informed that my vehicle is one year past the extended coverage period. Despite the defect being well-documented, Toyota has refused to assist. This is not just a cosmetic issue—it has clear safety implications. I own a 2016 Ford Explorer with approx. 61,000 miles on it. In August 2023 the B Pilar cover broke off while I was driving down a local freeway at approx. 70 MPH. I replaced this cover out-of-pocket. I contacted my local Ford Service Center, where I have had all my Ford vehicles serviced for over 35 years, and inquired about getting the A/B Pilers replaced. I was told that they had no parts coming in to do the repairs and that I would need to call then every month the check if they had parts. I did this for a year when I talked with someone who seemed to know more. I was told that the vehicle would need to be brought in, inspected and then it could be placed on their list and I would be notified when the parts were in. I was also told that they have been told by Ford that parts may not be available for months or the end of the year and there was nothing they could do about that. In the meantime the vehicle looks terrible and the gasket that surrounds the windshield is cracking and large pieces are coming off due to the exposure to the sunlight and weather. I received a telephone call today from the local dealership, inquiring if I was interested in trading in or selling my vehicle. I asked if they would fix the A/B Piller issue if they were to buy and then sell it. The person seemed to know where I was going with this and said they had nothing to do with the service department or the recalls, but, yes, the vehicle would have any recalls handled prior to them selling it.Read more

The sun roof appears to be leaking as well so air could be seeping though there too. The windshield wipers go off by themselves even when it’s off or not raining. Even when the wipers are on there’s a big delay to wipe windows which makes it hard to see. Despite assurances that these damages would be addressed, I have been met with delays, unresponsiveness, and ultimately a subpar replacement body that does not meet the quality and craftsmanship of the original. The replacement body not only fails to match the size and finish of the original, but also poses serious safety risks due to missing bolts, faulty wiring harnesses, and overall poor construction. Despite my repeated attempts to seek resolution through the company’s Recall and Warranty departments, I have been met with dismissive treatment, unfounded accusations, and a refusal to address the issues at hand. This has not only caused financial loss and property damage but has also taken a toll on my emotional well-being and business operations. As a concerned customer, I am requesting your support to hold Reading Truck Body, LLC responsible for their actions and address all safety issues due to this recall. In addition, to require full recall remedy to replace the service body with one of equal quality, size, and finish as my original. Whenever the sun is out, the glare from the dash makes it impossible to see out of the windshield without mistaking the glare for a car/deer/other animal. Since I purchased the car in the middle of the winter where, here in Michigan, we don't get a whole lot of sunshine. Now after driving for a few days in sunshine, this glare is dangerous. An RV expert inspected it and found latent manufacturing issues and welding issues that are not up to industry standards. The driver's side front wiper blade is not securely attached and lifts off the glass during the drying stage of automatic car washes. Once lifted, it stays in the upright position and must be manually lowered. To prevent this from happening, the wiper blade needs to be taped down. ... that the wiper spring is functioning as designed with no defects. The technician explained that the wiper can lift due to the strong wind force from the car wash blower dryer. However, the service advisor mentioned that this issue has been observed at the dealership's on-site car wash and noted that Lexus has not yet released a stronger spring to address the problem. The epoxy that attaches the hood brackets and the grill to the body is failing. Both hood brackets have come loose, the bracket on the passenger side came loose and fell off of the motorhome on the road and the driver side bracket came off and I noticed it before it fell completely off. Two of the grill brackets are now loose also.
