There was no incident however I received a recall for a windshield piece that was back in 2024 and supposedly would be available for repair in the latter half of 2024. However nothing has been sent to me regarding this and when the piece came off it cracked my windshield so I have a crack across that as well.

This is about paint damage on my Optima is a known factory paint defect. This factory paint defect, specifically paint delamination causes bubbling, peeling then flaking off in large chunks while driving, has been reported on 2015 KIA Optima with white pearl paint. The damages ares are exposed to the metal, subject to rust and corrosion. On 5/30/35 KIA in Ontario, Ca. Body Shop Manager Yvonne Rami
... rez inspected my vehicle and immediately confirmed the paint damages to the exterior of my vehicle is a known factory paint defect on 2015 Optima with white paint. Yvonne instructed me to contact Corporate KIA, report the case, receive a claim # then contact her to schedule an appointment for the repair. On June 3, 2025 KIA reopened case number [XXX] originally reported on June 11, 2024. No claim # issues, no repairs made. Safety Concern: The paint damage has affected both sides of the adhesive inside the glass securing the windshield. This is a nation wide problem. Owners have documented and continue to keep reporting this problem to KIA, NHTSA, AutoLine and BBB. Several class-action lawsuits have been filed against KIA in USA and Canada. This is also happening to Toyota, Honda & Subaru. It’s basically all the car manufacturers who are using this pearl white paint. The amount of Optima owners dealing with the massive rapidly spreading paint defect to their vehicle is over whelming. December 2023 my 2015 KIA Optima SXT Pearl White beautiful exterior paint began to bubble, peel, flake followed by large chunks of paint falling off even while driving. This started on the roof top right and left of the rear window. February 2024 - the same paint damages started on the right and left sails/pillars next to the front wind shield and is causing damage, bubbling and spreading through out the left and right side of the glass. It is a safety concern. March 2025 - the same paint damage started on the top right truck with huge chunks of paint falling off while driving.HELP INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFRead more

My vehicle has experienced recurring water intrusion due to a clogged sunroof drain, causing significant moisture buildup, mold growth, and persistent odors inside the cabin. I purchased the vehicle in February 2024 and brought it in for this issue three times during the warranty period a few months later, where fixes were proposed each time. The fourth visit, five months past the warranty period

While on the road, the sunroof just shattered completely. In this instance, nobody was hurt as the cover below the sunroof was open and that caught all the glass pieces. The car is hardly 2 year old and warranty covered the repairs. The complaint is that Hyundai never gave a clear answer as to why this happened and what can be done to prevent it. There is no consideration of the passengers getting
... hurt and startled by this incident. Also no consideration for the time it took for the repairs, the dealership never gave a loaner and we didn’t know we could rent it and Hyundai would reimburse. I feel Hyundai cannot just say sorry and move on as there has to be a reason for this and we pay extra for having a sunroof. I am not satisfied with Hyundai’s method of dealing with customers who suffered bear of their own manufacturing.Read more

On May 31st I noticed the front passenger side trim panel that runs alongside the window was detaching. In February I was driving to an appt. when the side panel on driver's door broke & started flying around & hitting car. (It has the numbers to enter the car without a key.) My 2022 Hyundai Venue has a serious water intrusion issue that has gone unresolved for over a year. Every time it rains water pours into the cabin, especially on the passenger side leaving the floor soaked. I have to vacuum out water daily and use towels to prevent further damage. The vehicle has developed severe mold, which is a health risk, especially for my infant daughter who rides in the car.
... When the dealership first inspected it, they said it was the sunroof seal and would take several days to repair. Since the part wasn’t covered under warranty, I wasn’t offered a loaner and couldn’t be without a car. When I returned later, they said it likely wasn’t the sunroof after all, as there was no water damage at the top. They also said replacing the seal would be risky. After running their water tests, they claimed no water was entering the vehicle, despite clear evidence of ongoing leaks. To manage the constant water intrusion, I’ve had to regularly shop vac the car to remove standing water, line the interior with towels, and place multiple DampRid bags and buckets inside the vehicle weekly to try and reduce moisture. This has become a nearly daily routine, especially during rainy weather, and the problem continues to worsen. The interior constantly smells musty and feels unsafe for me and daughter. I am very concerned that the repeated water exposure may have damaged the electrical system or affected the airbags, especially the side airbags located in the door areas. I fear these safety systems could fail in the event of an accident. This is not an isolated problem. I have found multiple reports online of other Hyundai Venue owners experiencing the same leak in the same area. This suggests a larger factory defect that Hyundai is not addressing. See attached. I am asking NHTSA to investigate this issue, as it presents both a health and a serious safety risk. This defect should be evaluated for potential recall to protect other drivers and passengers.Read more

This complaint is about the rear passenger side window on the vehicle. It is available for inspection upon request. This was a huge safety risk for me today. The temperature was 78 degrees and cloudy outside today, which doesn't seem extreme to me. The window was in perfect condition as I just bought the truck 2 months ago. After the window broke, I went directly to the dealership I bought it from, where they inspected it, and taped a trash bag over it. They told me there was a recall on windows for the new Toyota Tundra models, however, not yet the Tacoma. I believe this is a potential danger to many people and it should investigated.Read more

I purchased this vehicle from Vroom, who is also my lender under United Auto Credit. The car was sold with a washed title and undisclosed prior structural and mechanical damage. I have documentation confirming the vehicle had serious pre-existing issues and should never have been sold as a clean-title car. The differential has failed three times in under 6 months, and I’ve experienced full driv
... etrain failure following multiple service visits to Dodge. I had requested inspection of the transmission, but after every visit, the issues worsened. The vehicle is currently available for inspection. The car exhibits violent vibrations, power loss, and unpredictable handling, making it unsafe to drive at highway speeds. The differential is on the verge of catastrophic failure again. These issues risk loss of vehicle control, wheel lock up, and potential collisions. Has the issue been confirmed by a dealer or service center? Yes. Dodge dealerships have confirmed repeated differential failure and ongoing drivetrain problems. Independent shops have also verified signs of prior impact and poor repairs. Has the vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance? It has been brought to authorized Dodge service centers at least six times and is the subject of an open Dodge customer care case (7+ months). No police or insurance inspections at this time. This vehicle was fraudulently sold with hidden damage and has presented major, repeated safety hazards. I am asking the NHTSA to investigate not only this vehicle, but the broader pattern of dangerous sales by Vroom/United Auto Credit and Dodge, including title washing and stalling tactics to run out factory warranties before resolution.Read more

While the vehicle was parked and unattended, the rear window of my 2025 Nissan Pathfinder spontaneously shattered without any impact or external force. There was no evidence of vandalism, collision, or falling objects, and the vehicle was stationary at the time. The glass shattered entirely, leaving shards throughout the interior cargo area and rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive or leave unatte
... nded. When the glass initially broke, there was no glass that fell inward or outward — it appeared to be a slow cracking failure, where the entire pane began breaking down gradually. I approached the vehicle to investigate and opened the rear door to get a better look. As soon as I opened the door, the natural movement and vibration from the door caused the already-shattered glass to collapse inward, which is what you see in the attached photos. Unfortunately, this makes it appear as if there was an impact from the outside, when in fact the glass was already fractured prior to any physical contact or movement. Immediately after the incident, I took the vehicle to a certified Nissan dealership for inspection. The dealer reviewed the damage but was unable to identify any clear cause or impact point, nor did they confirm a manufacturer defect. Regardless, I documented the incident extensively with photographs and obtained a formal service report. To protect the vehicle from weather exposure and theft, I am proceeding with a rear glass replacement. I am submitting this report to NHTSA because I believe this to be a spontaneous failure of the rear window glass that may indicate a broader issue with the manufacturing or installation of this component. If other drivers experience this failure — especially while the vehicle is in motion — it could pose a serious safety risk to passengers. I respectfully request that this issue be formally investigated. I am also pursuing reimbursement through Nissan Consumer Affairs.Read more
