On Friday, April 18, I opened my panoramic sunroof on my car. When I did, the wind deflector became detached from the sunroof mechanism. So I attempted to close the sunroof and when I did, the would not close all the way and the sunroof appeared to become off track. No the roof will not close all the way leaving it popped open about an inch. I called a couple of Hyundai dealers and they both said
... that there was an extended warranty provided by Hyundai. Based on my car’s original purchase date, I am out of warranty by 6 weeks on time but under the mileage of 120,000 mileage limit. . I have read that this has caused the glass portion of the sunroof to blow out of the car because it won’t close all the way. I believe that this poses a threat not only to me and my passengers as well as possibly someone riding behind me me getting hit because the sunroof came loose and hitting them as well.Read more

I am reporting a serious paint peeling and delamination issue on my 2006 Lexus GX470, painted in Blizzard Pearl (paint code 070). However, my vehicle was not included in the recall or program despite showing the exact same failure pattern and paint code. On March 2, 2025, while driving my BMW i4 with my daughter, the vehicle suddenly spun out twice into oncoming freeway traffic during a routine lane change, violently crashing into an embankment. Thankfully, we weren’t physically hurt, but my daughter was deeply traumatized. We brought the car to Stevens Creek BMW immediately. What followed only made things worse. Rather than investigate the seri
... ous safety failure, the service team blamed us—citing the i4’s heavy battery as the cause. They admitted it causes accelerated tire wear but denied any responsibility. They also falsely inflated our mileage to 22,892 miles (actual: 15,109) to justify the wear and shift blame. BMW is now demanding over $10,000 in repairs and has threatened $110/day in storage fees—pressuring us as we seek a fair solution. As longtime BMW customers, we trusted the brand with our safety. That trust is gone. A car under a year old should not spin out from normal driving. This is a clear safety defect. Efforts to escalate through BMW Consumer Services failed: the listed support email bounced, and the Consumer Advocacy page led to a dead link (screenshots available). That page has since been removed—highlighting a broken system. Unprofessional Conduct & Lack of Transparency At the dealership, I was treated dismissively for raising concerns and forced to return the loaner car despite no resolution. We’ve had to rent a car while still paying $776.64/month for an undriveable lease. BMW also refused to share the inspection report allegedly conducted by BMW USA engineers—despite initially promising it. BMW staff admitted the i4’s heavy battery causes premature tire wear—a known risk never disclosed at lease signing. This vehicle should never have been released without warning consumers. We no longer feel safe in this vehicle. We respectfully request: Lease Termination & Buyout — BMW to fully cover the lease as nothing they've offered us reflects the trauma, risk, or poor treatment we’ve endured.Read more

There is apparently a known issue on the WT "Work Truck" trim of the Silverado EV trucks where the factory wiring harness was assembled incorrectly. This prevents the truck from knowing when the rear doors are open vs closed. If only one (or even both) rear doors are open, all the doors may automatically lock (depending on auto-locking settings), potentially locking the driver out of the vehicle.
... As a first responder I immediately recognize this as a significant child safety issue: if a parent were to get out to check on their child in the back seat, finish what they were doing, then close the doors to get back in the front, they could find themselves locked out with their child locked inside. Because this would also mean the truck would be shut down, the climate controls would be turned off when this happens, and could easily result in heat injury or death of a child. This door issue also causes a safety issue as the dome lights do not come on when the rear doors are opened, and a door could potentially be partially or even wide open without the truck alerting the driver. The dash clearly shows and identifies the front driver and front passenger door open indicators, but does not show either of the rear doors. I have not taken my truck into the dealer for correction of this issue yet, but I have confirmed this is an issue with multiple other Silverado EV drivers who have the WT trim (both 3WT and 4WT packages). While I will be working with GM to address the issue on my vehicle, I feel the potential risks of this issue are significant enough that the NHTSA should intervene for all affected vehicles. Problem Description Component/System Failed: The driver-side front door has been inoperable since April 2024, unable to open or close, linked to Ford’s Customer Satisfaction Program 23B56 (faulty door welds/hinges). Vehicle is available for inspection. Safety Risk: I must climb over the passenger seat to enter/exit, risking injury, especially in emergencies. My disabled veteran father, who sh
... ares the car, cannot drive it due to inaccessibility, severely limiting his mobility. An inoperable door could delay evacuation, endangering us both. Confirmed by Dealer: Empire Ford, New Bedford, MA, confirmed the issue in October 2024, tying it to 23B56. They quoted 2-3 weeks for parts but haven’t repaired it as of April 10, 2025. Inspections: Only Empire Ford inspected it in October 2024. They admitted to marking the work order as done without repairs, restarting the process. No other inspections by Ford, police, or insurers occurred. Symptoms/Warnings: No warning lights or messages. Around April 2024, the door became hard to open/close, then failed completely, remaining stuck closed. No prior noises or partial issues noted. Details: In October 2024, I took my Escape to Empire Ford for the 23B56 repair. They said parts would take 2-3 weeks. After months without updates, I learned they falsely marked the job complete, forcing a restart. Six months later, the door is still broken, and they only say parts are “ordered,” offering no timeline. This aligns with NHTSA’s PE23013 investigation into Escape door welds. The delay makes the car unsafe and unusable for my father. I request NHTSA’s help to push Ford for a prompt fix or loaner vehicle.Read more

... 4/5/25 I received a warranty extension notice from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles stating a warranty extension on the part and repairs however my vehicle has passed the mileage upon receipt of their letter. When I contacted FCA US LLC Customer Care they refused to further extend the warranty for repair even after a supervisor agreed that this a safety concern and that he would not be comfortable with his family riding in a vehicle that risks them being trapped. Upon further research I have found that FCA has known about issues with the lock actuators dating back as far as model years 2015-2017 in which the warranty was extended to 15yrs/150,000 miles. This puts over 500,000 families at risk of being trapped in their vehicles in the event the lock actuators fail. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a recurring water intrusion issue with my vehicle, which poses a potential safety risk. Whenever it rains and the vehicle is parked outside, water consistently leaks into the passenger-side interior. While driving, especially during acceleration or braking, I can hear the sound of water moving within the passenger side area. Upon inspection,
... I have found water pooling in the front passenger footwell, where multiple electrical wires are located. Additionally, there is an electrical control box situated beneath the passenger seat that may also be exposed to moisture. I also discovered water leaking behind the rear seat area. This section contains two air vents, which may be contributing to the issue. The water intrusion raises serious concerns about electrical system integrity, especially given the presence of wiring and components in affected areas. Although my vehicle has not yet experienced electrical failure while driving, I am aware of multiple reports from other owners who have encountered similar leaks that led to sudden engine shutdowns, including while driving in traffic — a serious safety hazard. I brought my vehicle to the service center for evaluation, but as of now, I have not received any resolution or updates regarding a fix. I have several videos of the situation as well. Given the potential risk to both vehicle occupants and others on the road, I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter further to determine whether a recall or other safety action is warranted. Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.Read more
