The adhesive on the keyless entry door trim failed and the trim detached from the door while driving. This could have caused an accident and is a safety issue. There was no warning of any kind prior to the incident. This also caused a mechanical problem where we were unable to open the rear hatch manually or remotely. We took the SUV to be repaired at a dealer. There is currently an open recall f
... or B-pillar trim due to adhesive failure. I contacted Ford as this is the same issue with adhesive failure on trim. They stated it was not yet a recall but they have had reports of this issue. I requested some type of compensation and told them it is a safety issue. They opted to do nothing even though they have known adhesive problems with the trim. We were fortunate that it did not cause an accident for us but needs to be addressed. I was not at all satisfied with Ford’s lack of action.Read more

This trailer left the factory in an extremely unsafe condition and this seems to be common with Big Tex Trailers. I'm the 2nd owner but the trailer is pretty much brand new. I was looking around underneath and happened to see a bad weld. I inspected the trailer underneath and found a bunch of welds either completely missing or so poor they might as well be missing. On some welds the joint was comp
... letely missed. The most concerning is that several leaf spring hanger brackets were only welded in 1 spot. If this trailer was loaded to capacity there is no doubt it would cause an accident. Big Tex clearly has no quality control and someone is going to be seriously injured if something isn't done to stop it. This form only allows 10 pics to be uploaded and there are more than 10 structural welds missingRead more

I was driving my 2022 GMC 2500 HD (not towing, just normal drive) after an oil change <900 miles ago and new brakes/rotors 3 days prior <100 miles (total mileage 81,000, serviced exclusively at GMC dealership) when the loss of power alert flashed on the screen. I was 2 miles from my destination, going approx 55mph, so I kept driving to destination, when the vehicle stalled in driveway. As I was

The entire engine was engulfed, melting out, tires and windshield exploded from heat etc. Total loss. Vehicle was inspected by insurance co fire investigator, no origin confirmed due to extent of damage. Vehicle was offered to GMC for their inspection as it was partially under OEM warranty and I had an extended warranty from dealership, which I also notified. Extended would not do anything without the vehicle at GMC and diagnosis, which again, there is no engine etc so not repairable. GMC was to be in contact with insurance co. Suddenly the vehicle--all on its own--surged forward, slammed into the rear wall (triggering air bags), ricocheted backward across the street, and struck a neighbor's fence. I received a settlement check from my insurance company, but I am out-of-pocket for the deductible, costs relating to getting a new vehicle, and of course the pain and suffering. I was told there was an event data recorder (EDR) on the vehicle, and my insurance adjuster will tell me what it reveals (I hope). There was no warning of any kind that this was about to happen. While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, the vehicle suddenly veered to the right without any driver input, ultimately crashing into a concrete guardrail. At the time of the incident, I was merging into the left lane with my turn signal activated and traveling below the posted speed limit. According to the statement provided to my insurance company—and based on my direct experience—the truck
... appeared to take control of itself, and I could not prevent it from veering off the road. The impact caused significant front-end damage and triggered the deployment of the airbags. It is important to note that the lane keep assist feature was turned off at the time of the crash—we do not use or rely on this feature. Therefore, the event cannot be attributed to any automated steering correction system. The airbag deployment resulted in serious injuries to the front-seat passenger, who sustained severe burns and blistering to the right arm and hand. The injuries were substantial and are documented in photographs, which can be provided upon request. A VIN search confirmed that this vehicle has no active recalls. However, the circumstances of this crash suggest a potential malfunction in the electronic steering assist, throttle control, or transmission system. After the crash, the vehicle was towed to my insurance company’s preferred collision repair shop. However, I have not authorized any repairs or inspections. I specifically instructed the shop to delay all work until after I file this safety complaint and have the opportunity to request a third-party inspection. The vehicle remains in its post-crash condition, and to the best of my knowledge, the Event Data Recorder (EDR) has not been altered and should still contain valuable diagnostic data. I respectfully request that this incident be investigated as a potential vehicle safety defect. I am providing photographic evidence of the crash damage and resulting injuries.Read more

Component or System: Front sunroof glass – panoramic sunroof system The sunroof has been removed but I could provide pictures What happened: While my vehicle was parked, the front sunroof glass panel spontaneously exploded outward, sending shattered glass fragments upward and outward. There was no external impact, object, or weather condition that could have caused this. The sunshade was closed
... , which fortunately prevented the glass from falling into the cabin. Had the shade been open, I or any occupant would have been at serious risk of injury. How safety was compromised: This is a serious vehicle safety defect. Spontaneous sunroof explosion could have caused glass-related injury to occupants, or road hazards to nearby vehicles or pedestrians if this had occurred while driving. The vehicle is currently unsafe to drive, especially in bad weather, due to a gaping opening in the roof. Inspection/confirmation by service center: Yes – the vehicle was inspected by two authorized Kia service centers. Both confirmed the glass was blown outward, not due to any external force. The second service center provided a quote to replace only the glass, not the entire sunroof system, indicating it was a glass failure. Inspection by manufacturer/insurance/police: Kia America has not physically inspected the vehicle and refused to request a statement from the service center, even after I submitted photographic evidence and a recording where the service manager agreed with my explanation. The vehicle was not inspected by police. My insurance was notified, but I am attempting to resolve this under warranty due to the nature of the defect. Warning messages or symptoms before failure: There were no warning lights, sounds, messages, or cracks leading up to the incident. The glass exploded without warning, which is why this poses a critical safety concern. Best assessment of cause: I believe this was a structural defect in the sunroof glass or a manufacturing/design flaw. I’vRead more

I am writing to report a serious issue with the paint on my white pearl Honda HR-V. The roof paint began peeling in 2023, and I initially attempted a minor repair using a paint pen from AutoZone. However, the problem has worsened significantly over the past six months. Recently, I took the vehicle to Maaco for an estimate, and they quoted approximately $2,400 to repaint the roof and side panels.
... I also contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, and they confirmed that I had purchased an extended warranty which expired in October 2024. After researching the issue, I discovered that paint peeling is a common and widely reported problem for white pearl Honda models. I spoke with both American Honda and the dealership on July 2025, and while the Honda representative acknowledged that they are receiving many similar complaints, they stated that the company is still investigating the root cause and does not currently offer compensation. They classified the issue as normal wear and tear. I keep my vehicle well maintained, and it is only 8 years old. I strongly believe this is a manufacturing defect, not a result of neglect or environmental wear. I would like to formally file a complaint and request that Honda take responsibility for this issue. Thank you for your time and attention. I can provide additional photographs, repair estimates, and additional documentation upon request.Read more
