There is a safety recall on prior models of the GLE Front stationery sunroof panel Campaign# 2021070010 NHTSA ID 21V197 Campaign desc 21P7790003 This is exactly what occurred to me on a 2024GLE 450 The glass panel between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered… Nothing hit it… It just spontaneously shattered.. So this just happened today - I was driving my 2020 BMW X3 on the freeway, cruising around 80 mph. No cars around me, no rocks, nothing hit the car… and suddenly, BANG! It sounded like a gunshot or small explosion. The sunroof shattered outward - completely blown out. Luckily, I had my interior sunshade closed, so all the glass shards were caught there instead of raining down on me. I pulled o
... ver immediately to check - there’s no sign of impact or debris. It just seems like the glass literally exploded on its own. Looks like BMWs have a defective sunroof coz there are thousands of reports on sunroofs exploding on various forums. The only reason I want to report this is because this is huge safety issue based on my experience when it happened and god forbid someone loses their life if they get all the glass into their eyes when their sunroof explodes while driving on freeway at this speed without any warning!Read more

On May 16, 2024, Plaintiff [XXX] was in urgent need of replacing the front passenger side tire on his vehicle. He began searching online to compare automotive service providers, focusing on those offering competitive pricing and professional-grade installation. During my search, 1 came across Mr. Tire's website, which prominently displayed claims such as "Expert installation for less" and "Qualit

According to their site, their tire installation package included: • Tire mounting and wheel balancing • Standard valve stem replacement • TPMS inspection and reset • Wheel alignment check • Precision wheel torque by hand tools • Lifetime tire rotation • Lifetime rebalancing Believing this was a comprehensive and professional service package, I scheduled an appointment at Mr. Tire, located at 5 Bel Air South Parkway, Bel Air, MD 21014 (Store #771). Upon arrival, I checked in with the store manager, [XXX] , who prepared my service contract. She explained the total cost for installing the new tire would be $191.53. The technician assigned to my vehicle was [XXX] , as listed on the service agreement and receipt. On August 4, 2024, while driving, I was involved in a serious accident. see attached documents: Subject: Ongoing Unresolved Recall Issues and Safety Concerns with My Ford Vehicle I am writing to formally express my deep concern and frustration regarding my Ford vehicle, which currently has 15 open recalls that have gone unresolved for nearly two years. During this time, I have contacted every Ford dealership within a 50-mile radius of my home in repeated attempts to
... have these recalls addressed. Each dealership has provided a different excuse for not completing the necessary repairs. Some initially allowed me to schedule service appointments, only to cancel them once they realized the work involved recall issues. In several cases, I was never notified that my appointment had been canceled—I only discovered this when no one showed up. Other dealerships claimed they did not have the required parts and assured me they would contact me once the parts became available. To date, none have followed up. One dealership required that I speak with a supervisor before scheduling any recall work, but despite multiple messages, my calls were never returned. On one dealership’s website, I attempted to schedule the recall repairs online. The system showed numerous open appointment dates until I selected “recall service,” at which point all availability disappeared, and I was unable to proceed. Each dealership I contacted referred me elsewhere, passing responsibility without resolution. Ford has been fully aware of the potential safety risks—including the risk of serious injury or death—associated with these recalls, yet I was repeatedly told it was “safe to continue driving.” This was clearly not the case. Recently, while driving, my vehicle suddenly lost all power and stopped moving. I managed to pull over to the side of the road and called for a tow truck. As the tow truck driver prepared to load my car, it unexpectedly lurched forward on its own and crashed into the tow truck. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding the handling of the recall for my 2007 Honda CR-V due to frame corrosion. During the recall service, only a bracket was installed under the wheel well, addressing a single area despite extensive rust present throughout the frame and underbody. I believe the vehicle should have been considered for a buyback rather than a limited repair.
... Recently, my vehicle failed its safety inspection due to a rust hole in the frame, making it unsafe to drive and only suitable for scrap. When I contacted Honda for further assistance, I was informed that only recall-related issues would be addressed, and no additional support was offered. The presence of severe rust and a compromised frame poses significant safety risks, including: •Increased likelihood of structural failure in the event of a collision, which could result in serious injury or death. •Reduced effectiveness of critical safety components, such as seat belts and airbags, due to weakened mounting points. •Higher risk of suspension or wheel detachment while driving, potentially causing loss of vehicle control. I am deeply concerned about the safety implications and the inadequate resolution of the recall.Read more

Description of the Problem I am filing this complaint regarding a serious safety concern and poor quality repair on my 2025 Honda Odyssey, which I purchased new less than one year ago. 1. Engine Auto Idle Stop / Starter Failure Issue The vehicle suddenly shut down when the “Auto Idle Stop” feature was activated. This incident occurred multiple times, and I was unable to restart the engine u
... ntil several attempts later. This creates a dangerous situation, especially in traffic or intersections. When I contacted the dealer, they confirmed that the issue is caused by a starter motor failure, and the replacement part will not be available until early November — meaning I must drive for over a month with this feature turned off. Many other owners have reported similar problems online, which strongly suggests a potential defect that should qualify for a safety recall. 2. Water Leak and Poor Quality Repair My vehicle also experienced a water leak from the roof area. The dealer attempted to fix it by simply applying sealing material on the roof molding (see attached photos). The repair looks extremely unprofessional, and I requested them to properly replace or reinstall the roof molding, but they refused. This type of repair is unacceptable for a new vehicle of this class and price. 3. Honda’s Unsatisfactory Response I contacted Honda Customer Service (1-800-999-1009) and spoke directly with a representative. However, I was told that: They cannot extend the warranty. They cannot offer any compensation or goodwill service. They cannot provide me with a record or copy of our phone conversation (even though they recorded it). They will only repair the starter once parts arrive. I explained that I have already spent time, fuel, and lost work hours visiting the dealer multiple times, yet they refused any support. Safety Concern and Requested Action The engine shut-off issue clearly affects vehicle safety and could cause accidents in traffic. I request that NHTSA invRead more

Vehicle: Toyota Tacoma (2024 model year) Component: Factory-Installed Plastic Bed Cap Rail Covers I am reporting a recurring and potentially hazardous issue with the factory-installed plastic bed cap rail covers on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. These covers separate from the truck body, especially at the corners, during normal use. This is not caused by aftermarket accessories, but appears to result fr
... om the flawed design and attachment method. A significant number of 4th generation (2024+) Tacoma owners are experiencing similar problems with lifting and separation of these factory-installed covers. Owner forums, complaint boards, and dealer interactions reveal this is a widespread defect affecting many vehicles. Owners report frustration with the lack of a permanent solution from the manufacturer, and many have sought dealership repairs or warranty replacements, only to have the issue recur within days or weeks. The factory-installed (and warranty replacement) rail covers are attached using double-stick tape and a single row of plastic clips, which does not provide sufficient security, especially at highway speeds. The covers flex and flutter, increasing the risk of detachment while the vehicle is in motion. Detached rail covers may create a road hazard for other vehicles or pedestrians. Multiple warranty claims and dealership interactions have been pursued, but the problem persists. Replacement rail covers show the same tendency to separate within days of installation. Given the widespread nature of this defect and growing owner dissatisfaction, I respectfully request that NHTSA review and address this matter. A more robust solution is needed immediately to ensure the safety and reliability of these factory-installed components for all affected vehicles.Read more

This is getting ridiculous. Every time my vehicle is washed at the dealership with the high power jets, water gets into the vehicle from the third brake light and blows the bulb. The third brake light unit needs to be sealed, including on all th

Is dirty Rams everywhere the advertisement Stellatis wants? The new slogan should be, "buy a Ram, just don't wash it...ever". The third brake light bulb will not blow when the truck is detailed or it a normal to light rain. Between the heavy rains and the dealership's high powered water jets, there is a permanent water stain on my headliner. The dealership warned me that if too much water gets inside, it will damage the RTF (?), which will render the truck useless. This has been an ongoing problem since I have owned the truck, which was purchased in 2015 or 2016. I want to know directly from Stellantis that if I replace the third brake light (again), but with an aftermarket LED unit, will the light continue to leak. If you conduct an online search, you will see how many other Ram owners have the same problem, yet Stellantis does nothing. If Ram's high powered water jets blow the bulbs, why does Ram still use the high powered jets? I am asking that Stellantis replace all the Ram third brake lights with aftermarket LED units and seal those units. Additionally, I need my headliner replaced. Attached is today's receipt of the bulb being replaced along with my stained headliner. A vehicle cannot pass a safety inspection with the third brake light out. During a recent trip I noticed a "fluttering/rattling" noise coming from the top of the windshield of our 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum. The noise was very noticeable at interstate highway speed and on rougher road surfaces. While looking for the source of noise I found staining on the driver side headliner and interior front pillar garnish. Took Rogue to dealer and was told that the seal for the
... attachment clips for the roof rack were leaking into the interior. Leakage had damaged headliner and gotten into the airbag. The roof racks would have to be removed and sealed and the entire headliner, front pillar garnish, and the airbag replaced. The total repair would cost approximately $4,000.00. Since the Rogue was 45 months old with 20,500 miles it was out of warranty due to its age. The dealer told me that I would be responsible for the cost to repair it since it was out of warranty. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they would cover the cost since the leak was caused by a design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan agreed to pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the remaining 10% (approximately $400.00). I told them this was unacceptable and that Nissan should be responsible for the entire cost of the repair. Nissan has refused my requests to cover the full cost of repair. An internet search revealed that Nissan was aware of the defect and had issued a Service Bulletin (NTB21-097, dated 10/20/21), which was a few months before we purchased the vehicle. Since the leak can allow water to damage the airbag it is a serious safety issue. The airbag may not deploy properly during an accident or could suddenly deploy for no reason and cause a crash. Nissan should take full responsibility and pay the full amount for the repair since it is a known design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan should issue a recall for affected vehicles.Read more

On 10/9/25 said vehicle was brought to Central Florida Toyota (CFT) for the investigation of water intrusion into the rear passenger compartment. The cause of water intrusion was due to a defective duct (vent) assy (PN: 62930-04040. There are 2 vents located at the rear of the passenger cab.). The cost for the repair was estimated to be $15,153.39. This exorbitant fee includes the replacement of t
... he entire carpeting system and the need to remove the vehicle bed to access the vents. Based on a musty smell CFT assumed that the carpet had been damaged by molds. Subsequently, CFT was requested to have the 2 vents replaced, only, and not the carpeting. In return, CFT stipulated that I must sign a health hazard waiver due the assumed (no evidence) moldy condition. Now, not only can 2 simple mechanical vents cause such an exorbitant fee to repair it has now evolved into a potential health safety issue. Yet, Toyota has failed to provide any caution/warning to the effect of water intrusion into the rear of the passenger area. No caution/warning in owner's manual that vehicle owner must periodically inspect the rear passenger for water, no warning tags/labels inside vehicle. On the other, my Toyota OEM floor mats have all sorts caution/warning plus installation instruction. It is recommended, as a minimum, Toyota must issue a recall to confirm the integrity of all vents in circulation. On my vehicle, the defective vent was due to bad seal which implies poor manufacturing. Secondly, the location of the vents is simply poor engineering. Even, if there's no damage to the carpeting the cost to replace the 2 vents would be $2,500 due to the need to vehicle bed removed.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding a vehicle I purchased from Florida Fine Cars in Miami Gardens on [XXX}. The vehicle is a Ford Mustang GT with a Roush supercharger (VIN: [XXX] ). Immediately after purchase, the car exhibited serious performance and safety issues that were never disclosed by the dealer. Within hours of driving home, the vehicle showed severe power loss, hesitation during accel
... eration, and loud mechanical noises at highway speeds. These issues were not detectable during the brief, low-speed test drive the dealership provided. Additionally, by the next morning, the car emitted a strong plastic or chemical odor under the hood, which intensified in the Florida heat — suggesting a possible engine, exhaust, or emissions-related fault. The dealer misrepresented the condition of the vehicle, repeatedly claiming it was “fully inspected” and “in excellent condition.” However, a certified Ford dealership technician later confirmed that the car “ran like garbage” and required immediate diagnostic attention. These defects are potentially safety-related, as they directly affect the engine’s performance, drivability, and emissions integrity. The vehicle could stall, lose power during acceleration, or emit toxic fumes. Florida Fine Cars has refused to take responsibility, despite clear evidence that the car was sold with undisclosed defects. Their actions constitute false advertising, misrepresentation, and a disregard for consumer safety. I urge NHTSA to record this complaint and investigate whether similar vehicles sold by Florida Fine Cars (or others with aftermarket superchargers) have unreported safety or emissions defects. This poses a serious risk to consumer safety and compliance with federal motor vehicle safety standards. (now the rest of the trim doesn't match so that's great for aesthetics) The interior door panel replaced because it was loose. This car developed a "thumping" noise around 25K miles when turning at low speeds. Took it to the dealer, told them it is probably the AWD coupler, and they said the self-leveling

Dealer decides to replace the rear differential because they found metal shavings in the diff fluid. Sound is still there but now not as loud. Car is currently back at the dealer for diagnostics to remedy the situation. I don't understand how a car with only 30k miles on it should be having these kinds of major issues. Kia seems to know about these issues because they do not argue about replacing anything. The car looks great, and the size is great. But I cannot imagine the nightmares I'm going to have for the next 30K. Or how bad the nightmare will be once I am out of factory warranty.Read more

... ng considerable time, fuel, and lost income as a contractor, this issue persisted for over 18 months, creating safety concerns and inconvenience for me and my family. Key Issues: Trunk door opens on its own – even while reversing, creating serious safety risks. Malfunctioning power close mechanism, requiring manual closure frequently. Unreliable performance: door would close, then immediately re-open. Visited Toyota service centers at least 6 times across 3 states. Each visit took 2–3 hours, costing me work hours as a contractor. Customer service experience has been poor, especially with manager Patte, who: Failed to schedule proper service appointments. Directed me without coordination. Refused to escalate my request or connect me to her manager. Dismissed my request for compensation by saying, “It’s your issue.” Please help me on this issue. Thanks in advance.Read more

The rear subframe of my 2015 Porsche Macan has suffered severe corrosion to the extent that it was no longer safe to operate the vehicle. This corrosion led to an unexpected failure of the subframe, causing the rear end of the vehicle to essentially collapse. As a result, significant damage occurred to both the control arms and the rear differential. A local independent repair shop specializing i
... n German-made vehicles (Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, VW) assessed the subframe and confirmed that it was in extremely poor condition, having prematurely rotted and failed. Porsche offers a 12-year limited warranty against corrosion for body panels, but this warranty does not extend to the subframe. The cost of repairs to address the damage, performed by the independent shop, amounted to $3,600. It is worth noting that this issue is widely recognized among owners of 2015-2018 Porsche Macan and Audi Q5 models, as both vehicles share the same subframe. The problem appears to stem from a design flaw related to the inferior materials used in the construction of the subframe. Porsche is aware of this recurring issue, yet has not taken any corrective action to resolve it.Read more

We hand wash it our selves there should be zero reason for that to come off. Apparently is a very common problem in the 2025 traverse. I joined a Facebook group and over 40 people had the same issue.

The door handle mechanism which is made of plastic broke on the inside of the door. It was the piece the cable connects to which pulls to release the door latch for opening. Only way to get out of door is to roll window down and open from outside the vehicle. Truck has 7k miles currently and no heavy use. Under proper circumstances this could be very dangerous.

The carbon fiber roof is bubbling and disintegrating. I have one section behind the passenger door that is the size of my FULL hand that is in a circle shape where the roof is scaling and peeling. Each day that passes, the known spot is getting bigger and bigger. It's embarrassing to see this happening to my car and makes my care look worthless. Definite eye sore.
