The passenger door does not open from the outside. It only opens from the inside. It is unclear what caused this, as there has been no accident or slamming of the door. There is already a technical safety bulletin for this issue, but this needs to be a recall as it poses a significant safety risk and does not appear to be caused by negligence or collision.

My door pops open while driving. You can hear it and the dash lights up that the door is ajar. Have to pull over and open and close the door. This has happened multiple times during various speeds and road conditions. Ford has recalled the door latches on the years prior but this year is not included. The back window comes unglued to the convertible top when the car is parked outside in warm weather. Ive seen this in several other mini cooper roadsters within the past few weeks. This causes the car to have a hole in the convertible top and leaves the glass hanging from the sensor. To fix it you need to buy a whole new top. This HAS to be a design defect.

Severe rust and corrosion since 2015. Spreading across the whole roof line and visibly peeling paint. Not typical peeling paint, it appears to have originated beneath the trim or roof components, suggesting a possible failure of seem sealant, design drainage or factory primer. This points to a latent defect due go early onset and location and not normal wear.
