I was traveling at ~65mph on the freeway when the sunroof spontaneously exploded. It was louder than a gunshot—I nearly lost control of the vehicle. The explosion occurred in the outward direction. There was no evidence of impact of preexisting damage. Internet research suggests this is not an uncommon occurrence.

I was riding on a suburban street and ran over a branch I did not see due to rain and darkness. I went back and looked at the incident and the branch did not seem like it was that big but I quickly lost power and my car stalled and I could not get it restarted. I later found out that that branch took out my hybrid battery connection under the car which rendered the car useless. It is a 5000 fix.
... I don't know why such an important part is exposed under the undercarriage of an AWD SUV. I was traveling at 27 MPH. If I had been on a highway it would have been very dangerous to have stalled out so fast. Once it was stalled the battery drained very fast from me running my hazards so that the tow truck driver had to jump it to get it to go from neutral to park and my parking brake is electric so I couldn't activate the parking brake either. I would also like to say that the headlights on this car are severely underpowered.Read more

This 2008 Lexus GX 470 (VIN: [XXX] ) has paint primer adhesion failure exposing bare metal. Color code is 070 Blizzard Pearl. The peeling starts at the primer/E-coat substrate layer, not clear coat. This matches the documented failure mode in Lexus CSP ZLL / L-SB-0046-19. The exposed metal creates corrosion risk on the roof and body shell over time, which is a safety concern. Lexus refused goodwi
... ll correction because my VIN production date was slightly outside the cutoff, even though the failure is identical to affected units and repair was already estimated at $10,047.96 by a Lexus certified collision center. I am reporting this as a safety corrosion exposure issue due to primer adhesion defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The driver door on my 2021 Toyota RAV4 has an automatic unlock feature that unlocks the door when you approach the car with the key in your pocket. This feature has malfunctioned to the point that I cannot open the door at all, even with the key fob. I have to either manually remove the physical key from the fob and open the door that way, or else enter the vehicle from a different door and unlock
... manually from inside. This causes a significant delay in my ability to enter the vehicle and could pose a safety risk if I or my wife (who usually drives it) needed to exit a dangerous situation quickly. I’m told this malfunction is the result of a faulty door actuator, and repairs would cost over $300. I’m also told it’s a common bug among RAV4’s from 2018 to 2024. It seems there’s no recall because Toyota is under the impression that it isn’t common enough. Well I’m reporting to let someone know that it is at least one vehicle more common than you previously believed. Also, it’s 2025. I don’t think I should have to pay over $300 for doors that work.Read more

Received a letter about recall letter about peeling paint. Paint was ok at time of letter. A year later the paint is now peeling from every panel. The power rear liftgate will close on a person or object and cannot be stopped except if one presses on a very specific part of the edge of the liftgate, towards its center. This happens no matter how much upward force is applied to the area of the pull handles and the edges. When my wife pulled the handle, the liftgate closed with force that she could not resist. This obviously creates a serio

I want to escalate the recall that Ford has on my 2016 Ford Explorer A-pillars. This recall was issued on January 2024, almost 2 years ago. Is Ford going to fix these problems or not. They also have a recall for the B-Pillars from May 2025. Please advise when they are going to find a fix.

The rear power liftgate on our 2019 Honda Odyssey has repeatedly closed automatically while the vehicle is parked on a slope, including our driveway. This has occurred multiple times, and in one instance, the door struck me on the head. The issue seems to be gravity-related and may involve a malfunction in the tailgate spring or motor system. I reported this to the dealership, and they were unable
... to replicate the issue. However, I have video evidence and found that Honda issued Service Bulletin 22-018, which may be related. The dealership has not confirmed whether this bulletin applies to our vehicle. This is a serious safety concern, especially for families with children or elderly passengers. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this issue is widespread and whether a recall or further guidance is warranted.Read more

I'm writing to report serious ongoing safety issues with my vehicle. Initial Service Visit (September 2024): I brought my vehicle in for two issues: Clicking noise when braking Trunk randomly closing on its own, which had hit my wife multiple times while loading groceries The dealership replaced the disconnects but stated they could not fix the trunk issue. New and Ongoing Problems: Since that s
... ervice visit, the problems have worsened: The car now vibrates when backing up Clicking noises when braking continue The brakes feel like they're struggling to engage during sudden braking or in wet conditions The trunk issue persists and has become dangerous Most Recent Dealership Visit (Yesterday): I was told the trunk closing issue is "normal," but this is unacceptable for the following reasons: The trunk continues to hit my wife My [XXX] son was nearly trapped in the back when the trunk closed while he was putting on his cleats—he wasn't strong enough to stop it, and I had to run over to prevent him from being locked inside We nearly rear-ended another vehicle due to the brake problems Current Situation: My wife refuses to drive the vehicle with our children because she no longer feels safe. The car is currently at the dealership while they investigate, but at this point, I would like to explore options to exit my lease due to these unresolved safety concerns. The front splash guard on my vehicle detached twice under normal driving conditions due to a design flaw in the fasteners. The splash guard is secured with plastic push pins and a single screw, which are not strong enough to withstand common road conditions such as standing water or wind pressure. The first incident occurred when my wife drove through an unseen puddle during heavy rain, which imm
... ediately tore the entire splash guard off. The vehicle had to be towed to Victory Nissan for repair. The dealership reattached the splash guard using plastic fasteners and one screw, but did not replace the damaged part. The same issue occurred again because once the splash guard is cracked or weakened, it catches wind and detaches easily. When this happens, the large 4x5 ft. piece of plastic can fly off on the freeway, creating a serious danger to both the vehicle occupants and other drivers. Victory Nissan has been unresponsive in resolving this safety issue. Despite being told the service manager would follow up, I received no calls back after multiple attempts and long hold times. When I finally retrieved my vehicle, the issue had not been properly repaired—only more plastic fasteners were used. This is a significant safety hazard that should be investigated. A splash guard of this size detaching at highway speeds poses a serious risk of property damage or injury.Read more

A panel on the roof of the vehicle detached while driving at highway speed (60MPH). The panel is held on by bolts and affixed to the roof with glue. While driving at both high speeds (highway) and local road speed limits, Toyota Tacoma's rear passenger side frame split completely in half. Brought evidence of clear safety hazard to local Metro Detroit dealership at 773 S Rochester Rd Unit B, Rochester Hills, MI 48307 on 04NOV25, and called Toyota Corporate on 05NOV25. Toyota Corporate neglected my concerns about safety hazard and potential harm to myself and family. Safety recall needs to be issued immediately. This issue stems from a well known recall from Toyota of Toyota Tacoma's, 1996-2004, which contained an OEM defect of excessive corrasion to the frames, causing premature failure of the frames due to excessive rust build up which impacts frame integrity and increases probability of failures such as observed in my case.Read more
