I own a 2020 Hyundai Sonata with factory-applied paint. The vehicle developed paint peeling/clear-coat failure on the driver-side rear quarter panel without any prior damage, accident, or repainting. The paint began separating from the body, exposing the underlying surface. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer. The dealer acknowledged a paint adhesion failure and submitted the is
... sue to Hyundai. Hyundai declined to fully cover the repair, stating the model year was not included in their paint warranty extension, even though similar peeling paint defects have been acknowledged and covered by Hyundai on earlier Sonata model years. The dealer ultimately repainted both rear panels due to the nature of the failure, but Hyundai required me to pay approximately 20% of the repair cost as a goodwill arrangement. I was not offered a full repaint or full reimbursement. I have also observed early signs of potential paint adhesion issues around the rear window frame, raising concern that the defect may progress to other areas of the vehicle. This appears to be a manufacturing paint adhesion defect rather than normal wear, and similar issues have been widely reported on Hyundai vehicles. I am reporting this issue to document a recurring paint adhesion defect on the 2020 Hyundai Sonata and to assist in identifying a potential pattern affecting additional vehicles.Read more

The component failing is the side skirts or, as officially described in the Subaru parts diagram, the „Side Spoiler“. It can also be found as part numbers 96051, and 96051A. My wife and I purchased a new 2025 Honda Odyssey Van as it currently has about 11,000 miles and we both have noticed a front end vibration/rattle/noise that can be heard and felt in the steering wheel at varying speeds in the front suspension which leads me to believe as an engineer there are issues with sway bar end links, bad strut mounts, or loose control arm bushings that are especially notice
... able over any bumps. This issue could pose a serious safety issues in dealing with failed suspension or steering that could cause a potential wreck or loss of control of a vehicle and result in a product liability suit for all parties involved especially given suspension and steering are considered critical auto parts in nature. The problem has been reproduced with my making an appointment at Watermark Honda located at 3201 Park Ave, Paducah, KY 42001 on November 19th, 2025 with the Master Service Tech Caleb Buchanan and Service Advisor Harley Littrell both driving the vehicle and acknowledging the noise and vibration. I also have any recorded video while driving at 5-10 mph in the parking lot of Watermark Honda that was shared and viewed by Harley Littrell. The vehicle was inspected with some strut bolts and other front end component bolts being torqued down the same day with the issue not being resolved. Harley/Caleb noted that they were dealing with the same issue on another 2025 Honda Odyssey on the lot to be sold and they were trying to address issues. As of follow-up appointment on 12/11/25, Harley noted this van had several front end parts replaced and it still made noise with this van not being able to be sold to the public. I was advised by Harley to contact American Honda and to file this report. See uploaded video below.Read more

In Elantra N, the plastic piece (splash guard) under the engine is prone to coming loose and/or coming off while driving. This has happened to me and many many others. Its poorly manufactured, and fasteners (push pins) are really cheap. Part # should be 29110-IB000 The warranty doesn't cover this. This reddit thread has many people reporting same issue. Still there's no recall or TSB: [XXX]
... People are saying stuff like: "I was driving and the undercarriage guard just fell off. I ended up having to rip broken pieces off and zip tie the rest because I was in the middle of nowhere." Another person- "2022, during the next service the Hyundai mechanics went “Haha yeah, I’ve heard that happens…” and proceeded to do nothing about it." Another person- "Oh boy, this has been a sore spot for me... Mine came damaged when I bought the car, went through hell confirming part numbers, sourcing who had it cheapest (ended up being the dealer because all 3rd party Hyundai part sites want insane shipping for this), finally get it on, just for the same exact experience to happen at 75-80mph... Thought a tire was about to let go as the sound got more violent then CRACK. Realized what it was, then a second chunk broke off, and watched it almost boomerang into the car behind me 🤦♂️." I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a manufacturing or design defect involving the sunroof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. On or around December 1, 2025, I discovered a severe water leak originating from the sunroof area during normal rainfall. Water entered the vehicle interior without warning and caused substantial damage to the headliner, interior trim, and other interior
... components. The amount of water intrusion was significant and far beyond what would be expected from normal wear. The vehicle has only around 45,000 miles and is regularly maintained. The leak occurred without any visible damage to the sunroof glass and without prior indication of a problem. The sunroof was fully closed at the time. This suggests a defect related to the sunroof sealing system, drainage system, or overall design rather than misuse or external damage. This defect presents a serious safety concern. Water intrusion inside the vehicle creates the risk of: Electrical system damage or failure, Mold and health hazards, Impaired visibility due to water dripping near the windshield, Distraction to the driver while operating the vehicle. In heavy rain conditions, this defect could reasonably occur while driving, creating a dangerous situation for the driver and passengers. As a result of this defect, my vehicle sustained significant interior damage, requiring repairs. I believe this issue reflects a broader defect in the sunroof design or drainage system rather than an isolated incident. I am concerned that other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners may be experiencing similar failures. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential safety-related defects involving sunroof leakage in Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The severity of the water intrusion and resulting damage indicates a defect that could pose a risk to vehicle safety and occupant well-being.Read more

The brakes on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma were failing so I took it to a mechanic, who said that the brake lines had failed and needed to be replaced. As we only purchased the truck one year ago, he advised us to take it to the dealership wh

I spoke with the mechanic at the dealership because when we purchased the vehicle, they did the inspection and said that everything was fine. When I asked the mechanic about this, he said that he didn't have anything to do with sales and we needed to speak to the owner (who is out on medical leave). The mechanic said that when the dealership purchased the vehicle at auction, the frame must have been undercoated and so they missed it. When I mentioned the recall, he told me to call Toyota. I have checked the VIN and it is not showing an open recall for this vehicle. However, it is experiencing the exact same safety issues as the recalls for leaf spring corrosion and frame rust and cracking. I have only had this truck for a little over one year and do not know what to do. It is too dangerous to drive as it could cause a serious accident. UNKNOWN Dear Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Consumer Affairs Department: I am writing to formally demand a full buyback and refund for the above-referenced 2025 Toyota Sienna (the "Vehicle") under the Arkansas New Motor Vehicle Quality Assurance Act (the "Arkansas Lemon Law"), Ark. Code Ann. §§ 4-90-401 et seq. The Vehicle is subject to a critical safety recall (25TA12, with interim notice 25
... TB12) involving improperly welded second-row seat rails, which poses a substantial risk to the safety of myself, my passengers, and others on the road. As of the date of this letter, Toyota has issued no remedy for this defect and provided no estimated timeframe for when a repair will become available. This renders the Vehicle unusable for its intended business purpose and out of service indefinitely, in violation of the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, as well as the express warranties provided with the Vehicle. Background and Defect: I purchased the vehicle on [XXX], new from Landers Toyota NWA, Rogers AR for $49,058. The Vehicle has been registered and primarily used in Arkansas since acquisition. On or about October 7, 2025, Toyota issued Recall 25TA12, notifying owners that the second-row seats in certain 2025 Sienna models, including my VIN , are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. This defect could cause the seats to detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury or death. An interim notice (25TB12) followed, confirming the issue but explicitly stating that no repair remedy is currently available and no loaner vehicles or temporary fixes are being provided. Since receiving notice of the recall, the Vehicle has been effectively out of service for safe operation. I cannot, in good conscience, use this vehicle with a known safety defect that compromises occupant protection in the event of an accident. Toyota has failed to provide any repair, temporary solution, or estimated completion date, leaving me without a functional vehicle for commercial puRead more

Vehicle: 2023 Tesla Model X Component: Power-operated doors / door latching (auto-close / “cinch” close) Incident type: Finger pinch injury during powered door closing Summary of incident: While using my 2023 Tesla Model X, a powered door closing sequence resulted in a finger pinch injury. The door appeared to close normally and then performed an additional “cinch”/pull-in motion to fully
... latch. During this final motion, my thumb was caught in a very narrow gap and was pinched. There was no adequate pinch detection/anti-pinch reversal before contact and compression occurred. The gap was extremely small, leaving little time to react. Injury: Thumb crush injury with immediate blood under the nail (subungual hematoma), swelling, and altered sensation/numbness. I obtained medical evaluation and an X-ray, which showed no fracture. A splint was prescribed to protect the thumb. Safety concern: This is a significant pinch hazard because the powered closing/cinching can occur quickly and unexpectedly, and the door does not reliably detect or reverse when a finger is in the closing path. This presents a risk of more severe injury (fracture, nail-bed injury, nerve damage), especially for children. When it happened / conditions: Normal use, low speed/parked. (Add date/time/location if you want.) The incident occurred during the final powered latch/close step (“close then push/pull for full close”). What I want investigated / remedy requested: Request NHTSA to investigate the Model X powered door closing/cinching behavior and pinch detection effectiveness, including whether there are known blind spots or missing/insufficient anti-pinch protections. Recommend Tesla provide a software update or hardware change to improve pinch detection/reversal and/or limit cinch force/speed, and provide clearer warnings/settings to prevent unexpected powered closure.Read more

The window panel separated from its retaining track in the window frame. The sash (the part of the window that holds the acrylic panel) disengaged from the upper frame, and a portion of the retaining track was visibly deformed. The window is designed to remain secured in the frame during normal operation, but in this instance that did not occur. The detached sash and deformed track are available
... for inspection. This window is part of the vehicle’s exterior opening. Because the sash is no longer secured in the frame, the window cannot be safely operated or relied upon to remain in place. There is a risk that the panel could fall out during vehicle movement or while parked, allow water intrusion into the interior and compromise occupant safety or comfort. I have been advised that no manufacturer-approved replacement parts are currently available, and no interim guidance has been provided on how to safely secure or operate the window while awaiting replacement. The issue was inspected by an RV service technician. The technician confirmed that the sash had separated from the window frame, the retaining track/sash interface was deformed, and original replacement parts for this window are no longer available. I contacted the vehicle manufacturer (Winnebago) and the window manufacturer (Dometic). Both confirmed that the factory window assembly and key components are discontinued, no replacement parts are currently supplied through the manufacturer, and no interim repair or safety guidance has been provided. I have a quote to fabricate a possible but no guarantee fix. There were no warning lights, alerts, or messages on the vehicle prior to the window failure. The condition became apparent only when the sash could no longer engage with the frame. At this time, there is no manufacturer-supported path to replace or repair the window, and there is no guidance on how to safely operate the vehicle with this compromised window condition.Read more

My 2025 Chevrolet Colorado continues to experience roof denting caused by the vehicle’s structural weakness in the roof panel when exposed to normal car-wash air dryers. This problem began in 2023 with my previous model year Colorado, and it has carried into the 2025 model despite GM having issued an internal service advisory in 2023 describing the need to install additional roof braces to preve

As a result, even routine exposure to the forced air from automated car-wash dryers causes the roof to bend inward. I have had this inspected multiple times, and the root cause has been consistently identified as inadequate roof support. The problem has not been corrected at the design or production level, and dealerships are not taking further action. The roof denting raises concerns about structural rigidity, potential weakening over time, and whether the roof would perform correctly in rollover or impact scenarios. This is an ongoing defect affecting normal use of the vehicle, with no resolution provided by GM despite documented awareness since 2023.Read more
