We have a 2016 Ford Transit Connect Van with 6,700 Miles. The Windshield come out loose and it could have been fatal to the life of passengers or others on the road. We went to the dealership and got to know that Ford is aware about it but is not covered. We are paying about $650 to glue the windshield back on the Van. We are paying this for the safety of the people. This could be dangerous and ca

I have taken my truck into the dealer to report my tailgate opening by itself but they said there is no recall. Recently it opened while pulling a trailer and it has caused damage. The dealer is still telling me that they do not have any options to fix it and are not willing to pay for the fix, even though they did one fix once before. This is a well documented issue reported by many people on the
... internet. I believe there was a recall for this on this model truck but my VIN was excluded for some reason and it should not have been. This occurs typically when you come to a stop. In my case we were pulling out of a driveway, turning right and because the tailgate dropped without our knowledge then it crushed the tailgate into the trailer. I reported this to the dealer on 6/19/2020 where they did no repairs. I reported it again on Jan 6th 2021 where they did modify the wiring harness and added jumper pi, per 19S48B. However this repair did not work and the tailgate continues to randomly open.Read more

The bolts used to mount the RV body to the frame are substandard and spaced too far apart. The RV body weight causes these bolts to begin shearing off. Once one shears off, the entire RV becomes unstable and causes more bolts to fail. On this RV, all of the bolts from the front of the coach to the second exterior storage bin back, on both sides failed. This is a distance of approximately 10 feet o
... n each side. The RV body dropped from the frame 1.5" on the driver side and 2" on the passenger side. This caused safety issues in that the exit door to the RV was pinched shut and unable to be opened from the inside or outside. At speeds over 45 mph, the entire dashboard bounced up and down 4" to 5". This also caused the headlight control switch to break and become unusable. Additionally, there was visible separation of the RV walls from the floor. This is a recognized manufacturing defect by Thor Motor Coach. These bolts shearing off has happened with many Thor RVs, and this is discussed on Facebook pages and other forums, with several videos on You Tube and other places, made by Thor RV owners on how to fix the problem or to be proactive to insert more bolts spaced closer together before they start to fail. The dealer who repaired my RV said they had just completed repairing another Thor RV that had the same bolt failures and issues. My RV was 2 years out of manufacturer warranty and when I contacted Thor, and because they know this is an issue, they offered to reimburse me $2,000 of my $4,800 repair. In the RV world, virtually everyone now knows this is a common problem with Thor RVs and to not purchase them. I initially filed a claim with my insurance who did an investigation and determined that this was not the result of a sudden, direct and accidental incident so the damage and repairs were not covered under my policy. This happened in the middle of a cross country trip in August 2021. It was unsafe to use by the time I got it home and took 5 months to repair.Read more

the coach has a know design flaw its in the what the walls are attached to the flooring of the coach....the design was under spec'ed (9) 3" screws over a 55" span approx 9-10" apart) and the hardware used was put under excessive force causing the screws used to hold the walls in place and attached to the floor to sheer and break causing the walls to separate from the floor and the coach structure
... to become comprimised , with wall sag , wall separations gapping between the walls and floor and excessive dash bouncing while driving once these screws sheered the rest of the structure becomes weak causing other structure concerns... this has been brought to the manufactures attention in multiple emails to the warranty division and in the industry its known as "Thor wall separation" I took it upon myself to do a precautionary inspection as ive recently started to have a bit of dash bouncing upon my inspection I found at least 60% of the screws holding my walls (Driver & Pass) broken I took it upon myself to speak with local dealer whom Thor recommended and got the details on how "they" fix the problem I made the repairs and even took it a level above adding extra structure to support the walls and added extra screws 6" apart for a total of (14 screws over the 55" span approx 6" apart ) the history of this issue is as far back as 2016 and is seen on newer 2020 Thor models outside of the "Outlaw" modelRead more

On the day of delivery, the motorcycle was damaged, the driver Mr. Thomas Dobson from Crawl Transportation claimed that during the trip there was an accident, that in the change of space the motorcycle fell from the truck and that he was sorry for what happened, but that he would send all insurance information to cover any loss. As soon as I received the insurance information, I left the motorcycle at the service department of Farrow Harley Davidson Service Advisor on 08/26/2021, for the care of Mr Scott Grossman to get a quote of what was damaged. Frame has major rust holes towards the front inside next to the catalytic converters. Hoping to get them repaired before frame failure. The frame design is similar to the 2005 to 2015 Tacomas, which experienced similar issues with rust damage causing frame integrity issues. Toyota had a program to replaced those frames, but not for the 4Runners. The issue seems to be caused by certain factory open
... ings in the frame that allow road salt to enter into the frame cavity, and cause the inside to rust. Being next to the catalytic converter, the heat accelerates the rust. On my 4Runner, the issue has gotten worse in the last 2 years. I cannot understand why Toyota covered all other trucks/suvs that use this similar frame but ignored the 4Runner.Read more

Dear NHTSA , I have a major safety concern regarding the frame of my 2007 Toyota Tundra Limited. My truck has only 128,665 miles on it, and it's pristine, except for the fact that the frame is rusted away, to the point where it needs to be replaced. I noticed last week that one of my straps holding up my gas tank was hanging, and my tank was near the ground. I brought it to my mechanic, and he sai
... d that the strap was fine, the strap was rotted off my frame. He said that the frame is in such dire shape that I was lucky that my truck didn't fall apart while driving it, and that I'm lucky the gas tank didn't drag on the highway, causing a catastrophic event. Upon researching this, I found that Toyota Corporation was aware of this major safety issue. Toyota evidently replaced quite a lot of these defective frames due to rust issues, but a recall was never sent out to all Toyota Tundra owners. I just spoke to someone at Toyota's Corporate office, and the person told me that there was nothing that Toyota could do for me, except say that they are sorry. How can such an important safety issue with these Toyota Tundra frames not trigger a recall? Is there anything that the NHSTA can do to make Toyota correct this hazardous safety issue and problem? A formal recall should have been sent out. How many more Tundra owners are still driving around with this major life safety problem, that they are unaware of? Please help me, Toyota needs to do more than just say 'sorry'. If there something that you can do? If not, where do I turn next? Was told my vehicle was too old and nothing could be done. No official letter from Toyota, just a verbal statement. This rust will eventually cause a lack of support in the bolt area and may be an extreme safety issue while driving the truck and/or those driving beside or behind the vehicle if/when the bed disconnects from the frame. Not satified with their inspection, I went to get a second opinion from an independent machanic/ body shop and they confirmed that there is indeed a crack and took clear pictures to show that. If left untreated, these subframe cracks will spread and the rear of the car can fall off along with the rear axel and rear wheels leading to accidents. The cost of fixing such manufacture issure is also costly, $2500 to over $10000 from the estimates I collected.Read more
