I came home from work last evening and when I opened my car door it sounded like it was falling off. I got my husband we looked at it and could see nothing. I call 5 Ford Dealerships because I have the premium warranty with 100,000 miles coverage. I was told what was wrong with my car the welds inside the door was broken and that it wasn't covered under the warranty and its about $3000 to fix th
... e car. I was told not to roll my window down because it would likely break. I was also told that this is a problem with the Ford Escapes. All 5 dealerships know of this issue. I was told that the only thing my warranty covers is mechanical I told them that since I cannot use my window that makes it mechanical. It is also a safety issue because my window could break and I or someone in the back seat could be cut. I spoke with [XXX] a customer rep for Ford she told me she is working with others and that Ford would cover maybe 60% of the cost. We bought the camper used, we had it inspected before we purchased it and there were no signs of water damage. The seller told us the floor was soft due to a design issue, which we confirmed by seeing post in several online forums about the bad design of the floor. The first night we slept in the trailer, the rear slide-out fell off with us in it. Luckily we were not injured. Looking the damag

We were able to lift the slide out up and put it back in the trailer but we are concerned to use it. We know we bought the trailer used "as is" and we do not expect the dealer or manufacturer will do anything to help us, but we feel this trailer should be recalled before someone is more serioulsy injured.Read more

Honda is aware of an issue affecting many CR-V's. Honda has recently issued a recall of the 2007-2011 model-year CR-V's in Canada for a rusting problem that could result in a rear suspension control arm separating from the vehicle. This recall applies to vehicles in all provinces from Ontario east, which experience heavy road salt usage and humid operating environments. Dealers were instructed to
... inspect the rear frame stiffeners and to apply corrosion protection. When a vehicle does not pass the inspection, Honda will offer to repurchase it. My son is 17 years old and is driving an affected CR-V. We live near Detroit in Michigan. I contacted Honda USA and lodged a complaint. I was given the following case #013293139 and instructed to set an appointment with a local Honda dealership for an inspection. Following the inspection, I was told and given a service invoice which stated, "SUBFRAME INSPECTION FOR HONDA CASE NUMBER 13293139 TECH FOUND REAR OF FRAME RUSTED THROUGH, TECH ADVISED STARTING WITH REMOVING REAR PART OF FRAME AND WELDING IN NEW METAL. VEHICLE NOT SAFE TO OPERATE IN CURRENT CONDITION. AMERICAN HONDA WILL NOT COVER REPAIR." This rust problem also affects other Honda vehicles and Honda is slowly issuing recalls. Recently, American Honda recalled 2006-2014 Ridgelines for "Rear Frame Corrosion." I would like Honda to repair my son's CR-V. This is not normal wear and tear. The corrosion problem continues to be focused on the rear driver side (subframe mounting to frame) of Honda vehicles. This is not safe for the public and this is not an acceptable response from American Honda as noted in the service invoice response listed above.Read more

Was driving home for lunch and stopped at traffic light. Parking brake self-engaged and would not release. I could not move the car in either direction. Repeated attempted to get parking brake to release by pushing/pulling on switch. Finally turned off car (sitting in moving traffic) and when I restarted the brake released. Was able to get car home and parked. Called my regular mechanic and got it
... in yesterday, but again brake wouldn't release (it had not been set) without turning car off and on. When my repair shop took the components apart, it revealed that water had leaked down into the computer system that controls the parking brakes (had various flashing lights on dash -- odometer/stop/start signal, etc.) and damaged the circuitry. The repair shop called to explain this problem and noted that NHTSA had begun and investigation into this problem in July and had about 80 cases under investigation at that time -- apparently a body-weld issue causing leak into that component. Prior to this locking up, a service parking brake light had come on intermittently for a couple of days. My wife and I were both at risk and just fortunate this didn't lock up while on the interstate which we drive regularly. Have called local Jeep dealer where we bought it and they claim they have heard nothing about this and the earliest we can get in is 10/18. Our mechanic has temporarily disabled the parking brake (both electronically and mechanically) so that the vehicle is drivable, but said he wouldn't advise driving on it very long this way, due to the other warning components that are now compromised.Read more

My catalytic converter was stolen when my car was parked. Honda owners has been targeted for its catalytic converters, and there are numerous reports of Honda’s cats being stolen. Honda has a major defect where it makes it easier for thieves to steal the cat in minutes. There are 3 major flaws with the product. 1) Hondas don’t automatically come with a cat converter steel shield, cage, or othe
... r protector to make them harder to steal. 2) Hondas don’t install their cat in the engine compartment like other car manufacturers to deter theft. 3) Honda’s cat contains valuable materials, which is why they are targeted. Other car brands tend to have less valuable catalysts so thieves are not incentivized to steal them. Because there are many cats being stolen, there is a shortage to replace them, and car owners have to wait weeks to months to get their cat replaced. It’s been almost 2 weeks, and my car is still at the mechanic’s waiting for a replacement catalytic converter. My safety, and the safety of my family, including two kids, were compromised because I had to drive my family home (and we live in a hilly area) without a cat as it was stolen Sunday evening, and I had to wait until the next day to get it to the mechanic’s. The warning light appeared when I started the car, but by the telltale sound my car made, I already knew the cat was stolen. A police report was filed and the claim with my insurance was completed. Cats are very expensive to replace and an inconvenience for a 1-car family. Now we don’t have a car to do basic necessities like take the kids to school, go grocery shopping for the family, go to work, and go to doctor appointments.Read more

Because a lot of people have the same door problem, I informed Toyota. They responded, they have an extended coverage for the Power Sliding Door Cable Sub-Assembly but it’s expired on 09/16/2021. They know the problem and solved it temporarily without informing the owners and now they said, it’s over, you need to pay it. I am not asking for my seat covers replaced. It’s definitely a security issue, a suddenly stuck door can harm/kill passengers and people around. Toyota knows the problem but refuses to solve it. I don’t want to drive this car with knowing the risk of hurting anyone especially my 6 years old daughter. Water is entering the vehicle thru a body seam that is causing the wire harness to corrode. These vehicles have had this problem since they rolled off the assembly line and Nissan knows this. On November 14, 2014 Nissan put out this service bulletin detailing how to diagnose and fix the Rogue that was brought in for service due to the carpet being wet on the driver and/or front passenger floor. It
... seems that when the vehicle was assembled, some body seams were not sealed correctly or not at all. In my opinion this is why the wire harness is getting wet causing it to corrode. Instead of recalling the vehicle for the real issue of water getting into the vehicle and fixing that problem, they are recalling the vehicle for the problem the water is causing. In my opinion the water entering the vehicle is the cause of the recall and should be addressed appropiately and not just by inspecting the wire harness for corrosion and applying their bandaid to the solution. Roof and sunroof structures began making continuous loud "popping" noises, very startling and distracting to driver and passengers. Toyota is aware of the problem, it involves the structure of the sunroof mating to the structure of the vehicle roof. This defect has existed since at least the 2007 model year, and Toyota published official guides for Toyota dealer repair procedures. Toyota refuse
... d the procedure due to my vehicle being out of its 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, instead quoting around $1600 for the repair. The popping noises are very loud, similar to a rock hitting the windshield. This startles the driver and causes the driver to jump and lose focus. This is a very well-known defect and Toyota is hiding behind the fact that it usually begins after the warranty period is expired. Toyota should cover its repair.Read more

On nine separate documented occasions, the passenger front wheel molding trim piece, in which one of the proximity sensors is mounted, completely detached, causing the proximity sensor to alarm continuously. On two of these nine occasions, the trim piece detached while the vehicle was traveling on the road, and on one of these two occasions, the vehicle was traveling on the highway at highway sp
... eeds. On this occasion, after detaching completely, the trim piece was observed through the rear view and side mirrors, shattering on the road and scattering debris across the highway, potentially causing a traffic hazard for the cars following. On this last occasion, the vehicle was also traveling with the assistance of the Adaptive Cruse Control and Forward Collision Warning features, which both caused the vehicle's emergency avoidance systems to activate when the proximity sensor was falsely triggered. If there were other vehicles nearby, this could have caused a high speed accident as my vehicle executed both an emergency braking and collision avoidance maneuver for no real reason. Please note that I have documented reports of the possible safety issues due to the wheel well trim detaching to the Tesla service department for several of the times I've had the vehicle in for repair. In all nine instances, I've been told that my vehicle is the only one that exhibits this problem. A statement I find difficult to believe as I have observed other vehicles of the same make and model driving around without the trim pieces, and just recently captured a photograph of a Model X driving on the highway with the trim piece detaching as the wind was catching it.
