The frame Infront where the motor and steering attach rotted completely threw, separated at the weld. It is a safety hazard where steering is affected. When I open the hood, the hood release mechanism sticks in the open position. Closing the hood will not engage the primary lock, only the secondary latch. I need to physically reset the primary latch with a tool (screwdriver) to properly close the hood. If not completely latched the hood could open at high speeds, blocking the view and causing an accident. This vehicle has never been damaged. I ha

NHTSA ID Number: 10201603/ SSM 50150 - 2020-2021 Ford Escape My vehicle is having this EXACT issue and there are many other Ford Escape owners that are having this issue and even with the manufacturer extended warranty it is not covered. This issue has obviously been reported with the reference number above and NHTSA PDF attached. fordescape.org/threads/door-limiting-rod.116354/page-2 has so man
... y other Ford escape owners with the EXACT same problem. This IS a safety issue as the door can fail to open or close at any given time with the arm tack weld falling off and rendering the door not useable. Currently they are just tack welding the door back together which is also not acceptable. No warning just one day the door started popping and you could see that the (3) places the limiter arm was tack welded on were now open holes in the door. This also effected the use of my window, it would not go down more that 1/2 inch. They are also having to fix that issue as well. Not being able to enter or exit my vehicle from my drivers side door is not acceptable and the faulty construction of this car should not have to be paid for by the customers. The Ford 2020 Escape I own has already had recalls, caliper falling off the passenger side after 1 year, seals around windows and lights failing allowing water inside the door, and electrical issues. This car should be taken off the market and the road for safety issues. There is currently another recall pending for this specific vin manufacturer recall number 22S73 about the fuel injector developing a crack posing a fire issue. Please rush this into a recall for the owners of this car that are paying to own the car and now paying for faulty design and build issues.Read more

The Shasta Airflyte trailer is clad in aluminum metal sheathing called a skin. The metal skins on the doors are held by a rubber spline molding but no screws or fasteners. The trailer door needs a decent amount of force to open/close which creates some flex so the metal skin gets loose and had popped out over the spline in a couple places. I noticed it a couple months ago but shoved it back under
... the spline as intended, and that seemed to fix it. The spline molding seemed to be in normal working condition, there weren’t obvious signs of wear or failure, I just think it’s a bad design and inadequate manufacturing. While I was driving down the road at maybe 40-50 mph, the bottom aluminum skin on the door ripped clear off and landed on the road. That panel is roughly 24”x30”. The upper panel skin also came loose and was flapping in the wind against the trailer until I was able to make an emergency stop and remove it. This put myself and the drivers around me at risk of flying metal obstructions on the road. I did some research and this problem has happened to other Shasta Airflyte owners but no recall has been made. The door and upper panel are available for inspection. I didn’t file a police report but might make an insurance claim, so it has not yet been inspected. There was no prior warning that the skin was loose and not securely attached. I was not driving in extreme conditions.Read more

I was shocked by electrical component on a rainy day on the driver side the electric component In the door panel were exposed to rain as all buttons to control lock and windows from driver side have sunk down a couple inches. This happened almost right away after I purchased pre-owned from Honda dealership in Corona. I took my Scion to Toyota of Ontario who said faulty electrical components had be
... en replaced prior to my purchase and wasn't covered as a free replacement/repair item. I had to get recalled airbags replaced though and as a courtesy door panel was tightened up no exposed wires but it wasn't replacing melted parts either from direct sun exposure as the windshield is like a magnifying glass, amplifying the heat of the sun exponentially. The "courtesy fix" didn't last even 2months and being on disability and on a fixed income that expense hadn't been on the top of my list. It's more than cosmetic and more than merely a nuisance, I was actually shocked. Not as badly as the time I was shocked by jumper cables when my battery died, which caused me to have a seizure and I am not epileptic. I believe it was not due to defect, but rather my lack of experience. Still the lock and windows are electric and should be available to operate by driver. To unlock the rear door when picking up kids from school, I must turn the ignition off or remove my seatbelt put car in park, engage the E Brake and reach way over and all the way back. It's annoying and what, God forbid I am involved in a terrible accident I cannot unlock car door or escape a flash flood by rolling down my window. These things worry me most. The Thor Palazzo has 2 braces in the front "nose" area of the coach-these braces are metal brackets that attach the front fiberglass nose to the area that contains the generator and fans for the air conditioner and other front-end components. These braces attach at both ends: the front part of the brace attaches w/ screws to a piece of wood that is then screwed into the fiberglass on the very fron
... t of the motorhome. The back side of the brace is attached w/ screws to a metal piece. This bracket acts as a support to the front windshield of the coach. This piece of metal on the passenger side of the motorhome came completely off & was drug under the front of the motorhome. Luckily, we were at an intersection when this happened and were able to retrieve the piece of metal. Had this piece came off when we were driving on the interstate, it could have been deadly. The piece measures about 15" in length & is heavy metal. It could have damaged the motorhome, tow vehicle, cars driving around us or become a projectile and flew into the windshields of cars behind us injuring others. We found the other bracket on the driver's side to be detached on one side and it pulled off with little resistance using one hand, so it was close to coming off as well. The brackets are attached with screws that had either come loose, had been sheared off or were missing. We had a couple of screws that were hanging underneath the front fiberglass nose. We have taken this to our dealership where it is currently being worked on and Thor Motor Coach has been notified. In searching this online, this has happened to several other Palazzo owners, but the design is still being used. We had no notice that this was an issue until it happened to us. Without the brackets, the windshield is not supported as it should be and driving to the dealership we had quite a bit of movement in the motorhome windshield.Read more

While returning from a long trip with my entire family, I initially lost control of the vehicle on a normal curve at 70 mph speed on a highway. We managed to stop without getting in an accident. After determining that it is not because of any tire damage and not understanding the problem, we continued with the journey driving at reduced speeds. From then on, vehicle was losing control whenever I
... try to brake. After narrowly missing few accidents, I realized the stopping distance also increased a lot. I almost hit several vehicles whenever I try to come to stop all of a sudden. Unsure of the weirdly behavior all of a sudden, I decided to stop at a nearby autoshop and get a quick check. Surprisingly the mechanic heard about these issues earlier and pointed us directly at the cause of this behavior. The issue is a ROTTEN REAR SUBFRAME. A part which is supposed to last for the entirety of its life, rusted from inside out prematurely. Learning this, I sent my family home in a different vehicle and brought mine towed. Mercedes Service center gave me an initial estimate of $8860 to repair and might increase once they start removing things for repair. After further research, I found out this is a very common issue. In other countries, Mercedes is replacing this free of charge to customers who report it as this is a safety issue. So I tried to reach out to Mercedes Corporate office and they declined to repair it Free of charge as there is no official recall on this issue. I am only glad that my entire family didn't end up in an unfortunate incident due a a cheaply made part. I urge NHTSA to look into this issue as soon as possible and help avoid lots of accidents due to this issue.Read more
