I have noticed water leaking into the inside of my windshield and also noticed that the front and rear carpets are damp and the car is developing a musty smell. Upon closer inspection it appears that the top of the windshield is unbonded from the frame and moves outward when pressure is applied against it. This is a serious safety concern as the windshield is a structural component of the vehicl
... e and the integrity of the vehicle with an unbonded windshield compromises the vehicle safety. Beyond that structural concern, the inside windshield fogs us consistently causing impaired visibility while driving, especially in the rain.Read more

Rear doors are randomly not able to be opened from outside or inside door handles. Multiple clicks of drivers door unlock / lock will sometimes (30-50 clicks) will allow the door to open from the inside handle. The issue reported has been since day one having the vehicle. The hood shakes excessively, sometimes violently, while driving at highway speeds as well as at non-highway speeds if any significant headwind is present. This flapping creates uneven and unpredictable drag that affects the straight-line tracking of the vehicle under normal driving situations. These characteristics are exacerbated by
... turns at highway speeds and on surface streets on particularly windy days. As the hood rises, air enters the engine compartment and causes uneven pressure changes and an unpredictable swirling and turbulent flow of air that the vehicle is not designed to handle. These combined forces acting on the vehicle throw the lane assist, cruise control, and lane departure warning systems into fits. On more than one occasion I have had to 'fight' the vehicles inputs to stay on the desired track and to avoid departing the road. Aside from immediate safety concerns, the abnormal stresses imposed on the vehicle, components, and tires are causing wear at an unknown rate and a premature component failure is likely. Napleton Genesis attempted to adjust the hood on two occasions prior to claiming to put a new hood on the vehicle. After yielding no positive results, a remedy was sought by contacting Genesis Motor America. They claimed to not know of similar complaints. After several email and phone conversations the vehicle was sent to Pugi Genesis for another failed adjustment attempt. My suspicions that it is a design flaw relating to the 'Clamshell' design of the hood were confirmed by the contact below, who stated on a recorded line on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, that she received an email from 'the engineers' claiming that they are aware of the issue and that they will not follow up because 'it is fine'. She also admitted that she is aware of several GV70 owners that have made similar claims. BRIANNA National Consumer Affairs Genesis Motor America O: 1.833.462.8723 Ext. 65009Read more

There is a safety issue with the driver side mirror, as it shakes in its housing at varying speeds and on non-smooth roads, in that it becomes a distraction of focus in the small time of you looking at the mirror to then switch back to front. This has happened to me few times, changing lanes to the left lane, I saw the shaking of the mirror and lost focus of the image in the mirror and momentarily
... had no visual input while driving on a highway, at least no useful visual input for driving purposes. This phenomena is the same as if someone drew on the mirror and your eye just cough that drawing and just focused on that instead of the rear view image and then to the front. Side view mirrors are critical safety components of the car, but their viewing purpose is for very short and momentary when needed. If you add a distracting and almost blinding effect to them, you are bound to take away the drivers attention in that critical moment when you least can afford to lose attention. 4 things: 1. The driver is not looking at the road ahead, where the most attention is needed 2. The driver is looking at the left, bringing the instinctive tendency to move the hands, hence the steering, to the left 3. The driver is actually not visually perceiving reflection image of the mirror, instead the mirror itself, often the edges as it naturally gravitates the eye focus in this visual pattern 4. The time spent in looking to the left in the view of the driver side mirror is extended well beyond the safety limit and time needed to get mirror reflection view I foresee: 1. Someone encountering this, in a right curving 1 lane road, the path of the car would bi straight line directly towards the apposing lane/car. 2. Someone looking to the driver side mirror to change lanes to the left and either lose focus and not notice the oncoming car or worse notice abruptly a car and oversteer to the right, then over correct to the left then losing control Toyota driver confirmed todayRead more

This incident occurred on January 20, 2023. I was driving alone on I-73 in Greensboro, NC. It was around 5:45 AM and was about 40 degrees outside. I had no vehicles in front of me and a very large separation to the vehicles in the oncoming traffic direction. The car was still new as it only had 4k miles on it. I was driving at 65mph merging onto I-73. Suddenly, I heard what sounded like an explos
... ion followed by what sounded like flapping and "pebbles hitting roof" sound. I knew something had broken so I pulled off the road. My moonroof had shattered. I took pictures while I was trying to determine my next step. There was a hole in the center and part of the right side of the glass. I did not have any way to contain the damage when it was put on the flat bed trailer to take it to the dealership. I dropped by the dealership later that day. The hole had grown significantly while being towed to the dealer (wind damage expanded the hole). The dealership said it was the second Outback they had seen that week for an exploding moonroof. They stated it would not be covered under warranty, but they did replace it as a one-time goodwill gesture. Searching online, this seems to be way more common of an experience than it should be with Subaru Outbacks. If I had had the interior closeout panel open, I would have been covered in glass. I feel this was not damage induced by any impact as there were no cars near me within at least 100 yards in any direction.Read more

Ford has failed to provide any technical specifications for the door, including the acceptable distance at which the key must be from the vehicle for motion to activate the door and the distance at which motion must occur.
