I took the Chevy Equinox to the Chevy dealership to have the oil changed. The House Technician said it was unsafe to put it on a lift. The entire frame was corroded. Customer has been advised of our findings. I called GM and reported the problem. They couldn't do a buyback on the Equinox. I filed a complaint with BBB AUTO-LINE, they closed the case said the vehicle was to old. GM said the Equinox came from up north, and since I live in Arkansas the climate change made the vehicles frame rust rapidly due to the moisture. The emergency brake cable, and control arm is rusted into. The vehicle went from excellent condition to unsafe to drive in one day. Their was no visibility of rust in December2022.Read more

Our family was driving home and we then heard a LOUD noise coming from the car roof. Startled from the unexpected boom, as there was not a car in front of us nor debris of any kind in the lane being driven in. The windshield was free of any cracks/damage as well as the front body of the vehicle. The sunroof shattered on it's own. Luckily the sunroof cover was closed and glass did not enter the int
... erior vehicle, a big blessing as our children were in the second and third row seats. If the sunroof interior cover was open, mutitiple children would've possibly suffered eye damage due to the trajectory of the glass shattering to the rear of the vehicle. We are deeply bothered learning that other Palisades have had similar incidents. The sunroof shattered directly in the center as confirmed in other incidents for Hyundai owners in recent Hyundai forums. As an owner, I would hope that Hyundai takes accountability and necessary safety measures to secure the well being of their customers. Our car was taken to the dealer the very next morning after the incident. Our vehicle only has 8,000 miles and the sunroof defect is not covered by the dealership warranty. The dealership stated they will not cover the sunroof defect and sent us to Hyundai corporate. Hyundai corporate got back to us after 7 days after opening a case number and just assigned a case manager. Both the dealership and Hyundai corporate are treating this incident as if this is not a sunroof defect, when it's a known Hyundai sunroof glass defect for Hyundai Palisades and other Hyundai vehicles equipped with a sunroof have had similar issues. We will not use our car insurance as this is a hazardous vehicle defect that should be covered under warranty, not by our personal insurance.Read more

The Air Bag Light remains on. I was told that it is responsible for the Driver's Side Air Bag. It was formally documented on February 25th, 2023 by Firestone on King St. in Northampton, MA 01035. It has been brought to LIA DODGE KING STREET in NORTHAMPTON, MA 01060. THEY TOLD ME THE WIRING PART TO REPAIR THIS IS ON BACKORDER AND NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL AUGUST 2023 and not guaranteed to be available.
... In addition, I was told it would cost $900.00 to install. I was told this by multiple people including CHRYSLER DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS TOLD A NEW PART IS IN DEVELOPMENT AND NOT READY UNTIL AUGUST 2023. If this is in fact, true, then this is a huge safety risk for all 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan Driver's who have the Air Bag Light on and may or may not have a working Air Bag. This is a huge safety issue. Additionally, I was told that the part is a "Wiring Harness" Part#68531685AA and it would cost $900.00 to install. On the Mopar Site, it is just the JUMPER WIRE SENSOR" PART# 68531685AA and is $45.00 plus $20.00 Shipping!!!! I was also told by Chrysler Dodge Customer Service that a Dodge Dealer can install the part after I buy the part on Mopar.com and Lia Dodge told me they could not. My car has been rejected following a failed inspection for the Airbag light and ALSO the RUSTED CLAMP that is holding the Exhaust Pipes together and Co2 is backing up into the Cabin. The Rear Subframe was found to have two significant holes that would not allow the car to pass a safety inspection, and I was told a significant hazard that required immediate repair. This is the only part on the vehicle with rust and is the same issue of rear subframe rust that Mercedes Benz is covering under warranty on the same-year cars due to a manufacturing defect. Audi Tysons had serviced t
... he vehicle since new but was negligent in warning me of the extreme rust or safety hazard that had developed. The first inspection by an independent shop found this issue and said it is common on Audi Q5 manufactured in this time frame. According to the repair shop, the part has a plastic protective cover that allowed water to stay trapped and is the main contributing factor. Audi refused any warranty coverage stating the warranty only covers "vehicle body sheet metal panels," but the Owner's Manual for Warranty Coverage states "-- a defect in manufacturer's material and workmanship that will result in rust perforation of the vehicle body". The Q5 is a low-mileage (87,500) vehicle that has been garaged for ~50% of its life in Northern Virginia. In summary, this is a know critical safety issue due to a manufacturing/design defect that Audi is not addressing.Read more

The spot welds where the check arm bracket attaches at the left (driver's) door failed, causing the internal bracket to detach. In order to close the door, I have cut the check arm and removed the bolt that attached it to the car; leaving the small portion of check arm with the bracket to drop in the door slightly. Failure of this part is a safety risk to the driver, as it holds the door open; any gust of wind or even gravity will close the door unexpectedly on a person trying to exit the vehicle. The part is currently available for inspection. I have brought it to the dealer and provided them with SSM 51050 that I found regarding the known issue. As it was out of warranty they suggested I see an auto body shop. Searches online yield many complaints and even videos showing the issue. There were no warning lights. I purchased my 2023 KIA Sorento Hybrid on 11/20/22. On 1/12/23 is when the incident occurred, I had the vehicle for 53 days. 1/12/23 I was driving on the freeway going the speed limit with no one around me and my sunroof exploded. Initially I thought that it was a gunshot and someone was shooting at me. I sped up and then thought I had a flat tire. After pulling over, I realized it was in fact m
... y sunroof which randomly exploded. Luckily I had the shade up, so the glass didn't fall into the vehicle. This could've caused a horrible accident if any cars were around me, or if I wasn't able to stay calm. It sounded like a shotgun went off in my ear. I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old and I'm just thankful that they weren't in the car when this happened. There were no warning signs of the glass cracking, nothing hit the vehicle prior, this was a brand new vehicle off the lot 53 days prior. I contacted the dealership immediately and said this needed to be fixed. They took the vehicle back and made a claim with KIA which is currently active from 1/13/23 and is active as of 4/5/23. I picked up the vehicle on 3/30/23 and gave KIA and the dealership a chance to make it right. The car had glass shards still in the top from the original breakage. When I pushed the sunroof back the first two times I could hear glass shards pushing in the tracks and forcing it back into position. I returned the vehicle to the dealership on 4/3/23 and they're "working on fixing it". I do not feel safe myself driving in the vehicle nor having my children travel in the vehicle. I've let it be known I do not want the car back and I want out of the loan. I had the car for a total of 53 days and it's been in the shop 75+days now.
