The rear tail gate seal for lamps on both the left and right side have failed and the lamp assemblies condense and fill with water. I live in Massachusetts and there is a yearly vehicle inspection and when I went to get it done I was told it would not pass safety inspection with moisture in the lamp so I had to get the left hand one replaced to pass. It is definitely a safety issue in Massachusetts and in my opinin should also be treated as such by the NHTSA for Toyota recall and reimbursement.Read more

Since we purchased the vehicle in December, 2022, the doors have been unable to open on at least nine occasions, sometimes locking passengers in the vehicle, and sometimes locking passengers out of the vehicle. Using the remote key does not allow the doors to open, only making a clicking sound. As we approach the hot summer months, it is a safety risk to not be able to exit the vehicle. In additio
... n, it is a safety risk to not be able to get into the vehicle when needed. The vehicle has been taken to two different dealerships on three occasions. The service advisor at Lindsay Volkswagen of Dulles, VA commented five times while the vehicle was being picked up that he did not believe the vehicle was safe to drive and he wouldn't drive in it with his family. The dealerships were forced to return the vehicle against their judgment by Volkswagen (manufacturer) so that it did not remain "out of service" and trigger lemon laws. VW Customer Care insists that this is part of the open recall on this vehicle but that there is nothing unsafe about the vehicle locking people in the car. They claim that if it was unsafe that NHTSA would issue a stop-drive order, instead of just the recall and stop-sale order.Read more

I am thankful that I lived through this without suffering injury or death. They did not have an explanation other than suggesting we pulled the emergency handle, which was impossible since no one was sitting in the seat at that time. They also admitted that a recent software bug in Model S and X cars was likely the cause of previous errors about the emergency handle being pulled, since we know not to pull it. We were obviously concerned since the door opening suddenly could be quite dangerous. We have not had any symptoms before or since.Read more

The gas tank was only getting 10 gallons of gas and not 16 gallons like it was suppose to. We took it to the dealer and they put a new fuel assembly unit in it. It fixed the problem a little but never fully. Now, 2 days ago my husband with my youngest daughter ran out of gas again on US-19 and I had to leave work to go get them and gas. Next on the 57 things wrong with this car… 5 days after purchase it had 22 engine warning. Took it back and they replaced the 4th coil and the 4th injector and spark plug. About 3 days later my husband came flying into his work, ran by me grabbing a fire extinguisher and ran to the car and started shooting it at the car, the car had caught on fire and the 4th injector was spewing gas. They had pinched an oring while installing the injector and never put the clips back on the injector rail to keep them in place. My husband could have been killed easily.
