In February 2023, we noticed a popping/ snapping sound coming from the driver's door and it would not stay open on its own. Over the next couple weeks the power window began having trouble staying up and then it simply would not stay up at all. In March I took it to the dealership it was purchased from and had it looked it. After a couple hours I was told that the spot welds had failed and that th
... e only way to fix it was to replace the entire door at my expense (approx $2k). The gentleman in charge told me it was not the first he had seen with this issue and if I got it repaired anywhere to keep my receipt for any issues recalls. The only solution I had was to have my husband get the window into place and disconnect the electrical to the window buttons. I have also had to deal with many bruises on my legs due to the door randomly closing on me while getting in and out. I'm disabled and this is a major problem for me. I have personally inspected the door and there are three holes next to the interior door panel that I believe are the location of some of the broken welds.Read more

The door check bracket on front driver door failed completely. The anchor point in the door broke off the door frame internally. All 6 tack welds failed. I could not afford the almost $2k it would have cost to have the entire door shell replaced and painted, with no promise that I would not experience the failure again in the future. Ford offered to split that cost with me 50/50 because I purchased the vehicle brand new and was no longer in the warranty period. The door check is currently failing on the passenger front door, 2 of the 6 tack welds have failed. It is a matter of time before it fails completely.Read more

Drivers door began popping when opened or being closed. Looked at door and the spot welds on door check attachment point were broken out. On June 5th, 2023 my mother received a recall notice in the mail from Honda stating my, [XXX] ’s, car was recalled due to a chemical reaction causing aggressive rust to form under cars owned in the salt states. My car was manufactured and driven in New York prior to my ownership falling into the recalls category. I had previously had to pay out of pocket for a new catalytic converter and an oil
... pan that had been worn down by the rust referred to in this recall. I still have the receipts that state both parts were worn away by rust and needed to be replaced. I made an appointment with my local Honda dealership for June 8th, 2023 at which all they did was inspect my car and confirmed the rear frame was rusted to an unsafe point and needed to be replaced so they ordered the necessary parts. I came back to the dealership when the part came in on June 16th, after driving an unsafe car for a week. They worked on my car for over three hours to then inform me my car was impossible to fix due to such an intense case of rust that spread to the entirety of the underside of my car. The Honda dealership employees informed me that they would send the proof my vehicle could not be repaired to the appropriate parties and sent me on my way with no further information. After 3 weeks of no contact from anyone at Honda, I have had to commute to work in unsafe driving conditions because I am only [XXX] and can not rent a car. I called the Honda customer service number (800)9991009 and the customer service operator informed me my case hadn’t even been started. I have an open safety recall on my 2021 Dodge Durango R/T. Upon receiving the paperwork in the mail I brought my car to a dealer to get it assessed. During that appointment, it was decided that I did need the recall part to be ordered and replaced. The dealer sent me on my way. I called back today to get an idea of when this would be performed and unfortunately, they said Chrysler did not have any
... parts available and that my part had effectively no ETA on it. I called Chrysler Customer Care to see what they could do in helping me locate the part. The service person on the other end of the phone told me that the car was safe to drive and there was absolutely NOTHING they could do for me and that I would have to wait. I then informed the service person I used to be a manager of a parts department for the CDJR brand and asked about the program that Chrylser has to expedite parts for customers. I have first-hand experience dealing with the expedition team and they always pulled through when I had my customers call in the past (less than a year ago). They would be able to acquire a part that had no ETA and get it to me usually within a week which was incredible for the safety needs of (at the time) our customers. The service person then informed me they had no idea and reiterated that there is nothing they can do and the vehicle is safe to drive. I need to put this complaint in because I have an open safety recall on my vehicle and the company that owns the recall and the part can not give me any estimation of when it will be taken care of and it is to be taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. I don't know who defines what reasonable is but having no estimate at all is certainly not justifiable. This recall is holding back business and personal driving because we as customers do not feel safe driving these long distances knowing that our vehicle could kill us or someone else due to this part flying off of our car and causing an accident with little to no warning.Read more

The hitch side of the roof began to collapse where the roof met the front curved panel. We experienced water and leaking issues despite our regular maintenance of seals. We finally took it into a repair business to have the roof opened up to determine the cause. The roof panel was not secured to the framing. Due to this the roof panel had completely separated and pulled apart, leaving a large cavi

My secondary concern is not only what else was possibly not properly secured, but are any other trailers made with ours also not properly secured. I attempted to reach out to the company prior to this incident for the 12mo warranty information and after this incident via the better business bureau. They have been consistently non-responsive. In the fall of 2022, the driver door on my 2021 Ford Escape would not close properly and I took to the Ford Dealership as I told them it felt unsafe as I felt the door wanted to fall off when driving as the door was physically moving in and out. They laughed at me and said that would never happen. After two visits, they realized the weld had broken on the door and said they would order a new one.
... They said they had never seen that on a passenger vehicle. It took 12 weeks for the door to arrive and they first said they would cover the rental vehicle and then came back the next day and said they would not cover a rental vehicle even when I said I felt unsafe driving it. So I kept driving it because it was my only vehicle. Ford Corporate tried to charge me $571.00 to pay for my part of the repair. They also dismissed that it was a larger problem. I have documentation regarding these interactions. The dealer stepped in and covered my portion of the repair. After they replaced the door, I reported the door appeared to be falling of the hinges and they investigated and said because they do not replace doors at the dealership often, they improperly installed the door as one of the hinge bolts was already missing. In April, 2023, I traded my 2021 Escape in for a 2022 Escape as I did not feel safe because of the door and the dealer agreed. It cost an additional $5,000 to get out of the lease, but it was worth my safety.Read more

Body, Brakes, and Electrical concern me. My family owned a 1999 same model vehicle, and the brakes failed us in an accident from its’ left driver seal being punctured. Here is what’s going on with the 2003 aside from the latter mentioned. Exhaust from manifold to catalytic converter followed by muffler rusted out by 175,ØØØ miles and now broke apart. Frame and rocker panels are rusted o
... ut before 175,ØØØ miles and broke apart by rear wheels on both sides. Electrical concerns caused me to quit my job on March 11, 2022 when the wipers quit working and nearly caused an accident by Chartiers Cemetery in a thunderstorm storm two days before. Front end vibration is felt in floor boards and steering wheel when brakes are applied at high speeds, usually between 45–75 as regulated by federal government. Disc brakes gradually replaced drum brakes from between 1960—1980. That practicality is debunked on these cars they didn’t utilise disc brakes on all both axles, which is my preference anyways for being mechanically–inclined. Koor’s confirmed our exhaust leak in Carnegie Pennsylvania and wants $5ØØ+ to replace the exhaust. Tireman Auto Service in Toledo Ohio confirmed the wiper malfunction, they replaced the window regulator and wiper transmission. Vehicle has been inspected by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Goodyear, Pittsburgh Police Bureau, and State Farm Mutual Insurance. I allow you to contact them for references and any ticketing information. Assuming we can afford to be better than slumlords. Group activities are blessed to keep your peace of mind.
