The support frame rusted due to water collection from rain. This has caused the entire frame to rust through and collapse when the car was jacked up, with the manufacturer supplied scissor jack, to replace a tire. My carbon fiber composite roof is delaminating and separating. There is a risk that the degradation of the roof will become so bad that it will separate off my car while driving and may hit another car. This is a common problem with bmw i3 roofs. It is crazy that the entire roof panel can structurally fail but because it isn’t steel/rust bmw isn’t worried about it.

The passenger rear door won't open and hasn't done so an unknown period of time. 1. In July, 2023 I brought it to Shaker Hyundai in Watertown, CT when there was a recall to update the electrical system in this vehicle. I requested they try to fix the door after the recall was complete. When I left the dealership, the door opened. I stopped approximately five miles down the road on the way back
... home; I was unable to open it then and it hasn't opened since. The car hasn't been inspected by the police or the insurance company, but it has been inspected by the Watertown, CT dealership. Yes, it's available for inspection. No lights. No messages, other than oil change light. Others have registered this issue here, and I want to add my voice to theirs. Clearly your organization knows how VERY dangerous it is for passengers to lack egress from the car. If this happens randomly, is it possible the remaining three of my doors will latch permanently, and what then? Please do something! In the past, I owned a DIFFERENT car whose axle broke at an odd angle because of a defective part; the mandatory recall didn't take place for an additional two years. Please don't make me and others wait. Finally, I want my the dealership from whom I purchased to take a stab at fixing it properly and permanently. Unfortunately, Danbury won't look at it since Watertown tried/failed. HELP!Read more

4 months after my manufactures warranty ran out, I heard a loud popping sound as I opened and then closed my driver’s door. I looked online and found that this particular model and year are known to have the door check weld break away from the door panel. This can cause the drivers door to swing open without any resistance and is dangerous when parking on an incline or if the door isn’t secure
... d properly while driving. I took the car to the dealership where they informed me that this is a known problem because it is so common but not enough that Ford has issued a recall. Active Air Dam: My 2021 Ford F150 XLT truck has an active air dam, (AAD), that is suppose to move downwards at speeds of 40mph or greater to help with aerodynamics. This is to help the truck hug the road better at highway speeds. When the truck slows down to under 40mph, the AAD is suppose to recess back up an be tucked away behind the stationary air dam. They started these AAD's on their trucks i
... n the model year of 2021. It has been a widely known issue that the AAD design is flawed and they malfunction and get stuck on the front air dam. Some have came loose and flown off into other vehicles on the roadways. This presents a safety hazard to the owners and other vehicles on the road. Ford refuses to fix it stating that their extended warranty does not cover the parts. This is NOT a warranty issue, this is a poor design issue and a faulty part issue that is going to cause someone to get seriously injured or worse, killed. Some people have reported that their AAD flew off their truck and they didn't even notice until the service tech at the dealership told them during an oil change. So that means their are people out there that are driving with this hazardous part flying off their truck and where is it going? Into the traffic following behind, and what are those drivers going to do when it comes hurling at them at a high rate of speed? Most likely slam on their brakes, causing a rear end collision, or they serve to avoid it and either hit an on coming vehicle head-on or slam into the vehicle next to them on a multi lane highway or interstate. Please make Ford fix their problem before someone gets killed or seriously injured.Read more

Have had two different door actuator/locking mechanisms fail on both rear doors. This is an easy part to replace and is able to be replaced by the consumer. Both times it was replaced the actuator failed immediately in the locked position. Door could not be opened from the inside or the outside and had to have door panel cut off to reopen. After the second failure, the GM Dealer tech showed me a "
... trick" that was only known to GM techs and that if the consumer did not replace the latch with the undocumented "trick" and only used the standard repair manual the latch would fail as such. I approached GM for an answer on this and they stated that I am not a licensed GM technician and should not attempt to do anything on my vehicle other than put gas in it and drive it. While I do understand that at times it is necessary for a trained professional to be involved, but that should not be the case for a door latch. The lack of concern on GMs part as the door had to be cut off because of this is irresponsible. There are plenty of other stories of the same issue occurring with this same style of latch. Someone could easily be trapped in the vehicle with this issue and killed.Read more
