The rear driver side door will not open from either the outside, nor the inside. This is a major safety concern for any passengers that ride in the backseat, especially children. On August 22, 2023, without warning the panoramic sunroof of our 2020 Kia Sportage exploded. There was a loud bang, and glass flew into and out of the vehicle. Most of the glass was expelled from the vehicle upon the sunroof exploding. The edges of the glass that remained point upward, indicating an outward force. Thankfully, the cloth sunscreen on the underside of the roof was closed and kept t
... he remaining debris from falling further into the vehicle. My husband and I were in the front of the vehicle looking out the windshield at the time of the incident and did not see any object come in contact with the roof that could have reasonably caused such a large explosion. Our concerns are twofold. First, the sunroof exploded. It would seem that the sunroof should be made of the same type of laminated tempered glass as a windscreen, which does not shatter - even if the glass is cracked by some object. Again, we did not see any external force impact the sunroof such that it should have completely shattered. Second, the glass shards that were left behind were relatively large pieces (1"x2" to 1"x3"). Had the sunscreen not been closed, my husband and I could have sustained serious bodily injury. Additionally, the shock and noise associated with the explosion significantly impacted safe driving, which was along a major interstate with moderate traffic.Read more

Ford also told me that only the drivers side door is covered under the warranty to replace the door. The others are not and the chalk it up to “overextending” the door. I also found online that when others have taken a look at the cars the hinge is what is breaking and putting strain on the door and putting the full weight on the actual spot where it connects to the door. My 2010 Camry has become incredibly unsafe to drive or be in due to the dashboard melting. There is an unbelievably unsafe glare caused by the dashboard reflecting sunlight and the more the dash melts the more intense the glare becomes. There is also a smell that renders the vehicle almost worthless on hot days and causes headaches. This is on top of not being able to clean the dashboard because
... you cannot touch it with anything. All bugs and any dust that land on the dashboard live there permanently. You cannot wipe it with anything. Your finger prints stay on the dash with the lightest touch and often it becomes so hot you cannot touch it without potentially burning yourself. The dash melting is a safety hazard to everyone on the roadways. There are likely millions of cars with this defective dashboard that have not been repaired. I have contacted Toyota several times, including executives and high ranking corporate employees, and they say that they will not replace or help with this defective and unsafe cheap component that they used in order to increase their margins. The problem has been acknowledged by Toyota but they failed to contact an incredibly high number of owners that are affected. I first noticed the glare in 2014 and it has gotten progressively worse. I took the vehicle to a toyota dealership twice (2016/2023) and they refused to fix the defective dash both times. They expect owners to pay $3,500-$5,000 for a dashboard repair on a vehicle that has 100k+ mile life left yet is only worth around $5,000. They are essentially totaling cars that owners have worked hard to maintain and get the most out of. Toyota is stealing 10+ years of vehicle life from many consumers and placing the burden of their profit margins increasing onto consumers that buy toyotas because of their longevity and reliability.Read more
