This vehicle has an automatic opening/closure feature for the rear trunk/hatchback door. It's activated by putting one's foot under a sensor under the rear fender. This is fine for opening the door but it also closes the hatchback door with considerable force. The feature can be activated inadvertently e.g. when loading the car (and one's foot is under the rear fender) or when sitting on the ed
... ge of the luggage area and changing shoes. Both type of events have happened to me. I'm an bald and have had the door close on my head (which broke my scalp's skin) and have had it close when changing shoes many times. If this closed on a small child, I fear that a limb could be broken (or worse). One cannot disable this feature (ideally just to prevent it from closing) or just to simply disable it completely. I have taken the car to Audi dealerships to have the feature disabled on several occasions - but they are unable to do so. It is a safety hazard in my professional opinion - I'm a physician but not an engineer.Read more

Tailgate inadvertently opens. There is no visual or audible alarm to inform me the rear tailgate is open. This is a Denali package truck. I have lost items, coolers, small folding tables among small items without warning. Most of the time I was traveling on a highway. Could cause accidents, injury to others as well as I have lost my belongings. I have had the dealership as well as 2 requests with
... GM customer service with no corrective results. The trucks tailgate will show an open display warning but only when top tailgate is down/open. If the whole tailgate is down/open there is no visual warning on dash. I believe there was an error in placement of open tailgate sensor when truck was produced. 2023 models have correct sensor placement and visual dash warning. The 2022 was a new redesign doe the Sierra class truck and there was a mistake where the open tailgate sensor was placed. I went to GMC virtual site and the 2023 model examined by GMC employee on visual check shows on complete tail gate down/open the same dash visual tail gate open alarm I see on my 2022 when only the top part of whole tailgate is open. My Dealership and GMC customer service have been involved for the past year. I have been reimbursed by GMC for my losses but problem still exists.Read more

The Spot Weld on the Driver side door is broke. based on information read this is an issue on this vehicle where the hinge breaks where the spot weld is suppose to hold. Has to be replaced and cost is $2400. Dealership said they have repaired a lot of these doors/Hinges. Asking to pay $2400 on an issue that Ford knows. They have a notice 50150 fro NHTSA that it is a known issue . Looking to

Some people have reported a popping noise when the door comes open and say that the door can be unable to latch when closed or can suddenly come open when it had been closed. According to the safety agency's investigation document, the problem is believed to be faulty spot welds in the check arm attachment points on the doors. As one example, an owner reported to NHTSA that "The driver side front door made a creaking sound, could not be opened, and the window would not go down. The ABS - Anti-Skid lights come on and off intermittently while driving, or it's actually done this just sitting still a few times. When it first started around July 2023 the truck had about 90k miles on it. I called the dealership, they said keep driving it till it stayed on all the time so they could track what was causing it. Well it never stays on, it is on/off at random. The random occurren
... ce nearly caused a bad wreck while driving onto an on ramp wet road. The truck dinged as I was making the turn, it started spinning sideways and when I got stopped, I was sideways, I had to move quickly to get out of other cars way. When I tried to go it spun around the other way sideways, stopping traffic. I was lucky the other cars brakes worked or I would have been T-Boned. If I had been pulling the trailer or boat there would have been no way to control the spin or brake sliding, which I am positive would have been a bad wreck. I was not going too fast either, about 30-35 when all this happened. Dodge Ram company needs to fix this issue NOW before someone gets killed. I have an excellent driving record and want to keep it that way. I cannot pull my camper, boat or equipment trailer now cause I'm afraid this will happen and not be so lucky. Sad thing is, Dodge knows about this and are doing nothing about it.Read more

Good afternoon, I'll try to keep this as brief as possible; I'm sure you can recontact me if you need additional information. This is not an incident, rather an issue related to the current recall 23V-228 for my 2010 Honda CRV. In 1/2023, the garage advised my Honda would not pass Maine State Safety Inspection due to the severe rust on the frame and where the left rear lower control arm (LCA) att
... ached to the frame. They advised it could detach/break off, and my ability to steer safely to a stop would be affected. I took it to the Honda dealership and they confirmed it was unsafe to drive unless the rust and frame could be repaired. The dealer did not mention this was a common problem or any upcoming recalls for this issue. In 2/2023, I found a body shop that was able to repair the corrosion on the frame and the connection point for the LCA. I paid $1600, and the car passed Maine State Safety Inspection at the same garage that identified the problem. In 5/2023, I received the Honda safety recall referenced above, which states "you may be eligible for reimbursement if you paid for recall repairs out of pocket." I called the 888 # on the recall, received an email from American Honda, and replied to their email with the documents they requested, including the repair invoice. After recontacting American Honda a second time in 8/23, and a third time in 9/23, they advised they did not receive the document in 5/23, and I should resend the repair invoice. I received a call from American Honda on 10/16/2023, during which time they stated I was not eligible for reimbursement. This was due to the fact the repair invoice did not specifically state: “Trailing arm holder kit was replaced”. My case (#XXX) was closed. I read in a Part 574 Safety Recall Report, "Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense will be eligible for reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA." Do I qualify for reimbursement? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACTRead more

We recently went to have new tires put on the Tacoma at Costco. The Costco technician said that the frame was rusted and he had a similar problem with his Tacoma and Toyota repaired it. He told us that he couldn't install the new tires with the rusted frame and suggested that we go to our Toyota Dealer. We went to Toyota Direct in Columbus, Ohio (where we have had the vehicle serviced every tim
... e) and they took pictures of the rust and told us they would call us back. Although we have inquired several times, they had not called us back so we reached out to Toyota Corporate and they said that the recall/warranty extension had expired and there was nothing they could do. Costco has refused to install the new tires until the frame is repaired. (our problem is not with Costco.) The Costco tech did tell us that he was surprised that the rust had not been noticed before by the Dealer during regular service as it would not have appeared so quickly. So the complaint goes against Toyota Corporate and Toyota Direct... why did they not notice any rust while the warranty/recall was in effect or any of the service visits if this is a standard problem with 2009 Toyotas. If the vehicle has a rusted frame, that could be dangerous to whoever is driving the vehicle. In addition, without being able to have new tires installed due to the frame issue, that creates another safety concern with winter weather approaching and tires that need replaced.Read more

There is a know defect with the chassis used for several Volvo car models. My car is a Volvo C70, year 2012. My car is affected by this defect. The defect wasn't disclosed to me at time of sale. I only learned about it literally 10 years later when Volvo of Gilbert (dealership) advised me to install a costly part on the rear suspension of my car because of "excessive negative camber". According
... to the Volvo repair department, they've known for years of an internal repair "recommendation" memo issued by Volvo that Volvo actually pays for on other models, but won't pay for on mine, to correct this "negative camber" on the rear of the car. ***** The negative camber causes tire walls to fail early and abnormally wear the internal edges of the tires. I've experienced early tire failure on multiple sets of tires on my Volvo C70 and never knew why. Now I know. **Volvo has always known.** I have to replace all of my tires almost every two years due to the inside edges wearing out, despite faithfully rotating my tires several times a year. My tires have worn down to the belt on the inside edges despite having plenty of good tread left in the middle of the tire itself. About two years ago I had a dangerous blowout on the freeway because of a tire that failed early -- now I know it's because of the negative camber. More recently, two of my tires wore down all the way to the belts despite being less than two years old. ***** Volvo knows about this issue. There is a good paper trail of the issue being documented both by Volvo and their customers, but they failed to warn us of the dangerous car suspension and failed to provide the fix to all of us (while providing the fix to some of their customers). ***** Please listen to this 2-minute recording with the Volvo technician (Judd) who disclosed the known defect to me: [XXX] ***** This needs to be rectified for all of us with the faulty chassis'. bracket tack welds failed in drivers side front door at attachment of the door check to the door frame. Resulting loose end causes multi-part safety hazard. First, it jams door, randomly presenting it from closing and latching properly, which defeats the auto-lock safety features designed to maintain body integrity in the event of an accident (hazard 1). It also binds now and then, preventing door
... from being opened for the driver of the car (hazard 2). Third, while flopping around inside the door, the part interferes with the opening of drivers side window (hazard 3). Hazard 2 and 3 in combination create a condition where safe egress from the vehicle in the event of an emergency is not assured for the driver. Dealer confirmed issue and issued quote to replace the door. Manufacturer thinks its not their problem unless its under warranty. Issue is well described in various locations on the web, so its not a one-off manufacturing issue, rather a systemic design/implementation problem.Read more

When the chassis is in the 20-foot configuration, the mid-beam of the chassis may bend or crack when fully loaded or when the 20-foot container is overloaded. Bending of the chassis makes it difficult to remove the container, and it is a precursor to future cracking if not remedied. If cracking occurs during operation, the retracted landing gears will contact the road and the gooseneck portion o
... f the trailer will be at a severe upward angle. Continued travel under this condition could result in complete failure of the trailer, and if the twist locks connecting the trailer to the container fail or are not engaged the load could be separated from the tractor and/or the trailer, resulting in an increased risk of a crash.Read more

Owner detected a foul odor inside vehicle. Upon investigation water was found in the rear floorboard and water stains across the headliner above the power rear sliding window. Further investigation online revealed that Fiat-Chrysler issued Technical Service Bulletin [XXX]\"Water Leaks At Sliding Backlite\" dated April 22, 2021 and [XXX] Rev B \"Water Leak Rear Of cab Rear Seat or Headliner\" dated
... June 2021. Owner called a local dealership and requested information regarding any recall related to RAM 1500 cab leaks, and was told that they were none. Dealership failed to advise owner that a know problem exists for these vehicles. \n\nOwner believes that a safety issue exists with water leaking into the 3rd brake light assembly resulting in failure of that safety component to operate correctly and cause a rearend collision. Further, owner believes that a safety issue exists with water leaking into the electrical system that operates the power sliding rear window resulting in a fire or electrical human contact electrical injury.\n\nThis issue has been confirmed by dealerships as they have attempted repairs for other owners. Additionally, Fiat-Chrysler's issuing Technical Service Bulletins for these problems indicates the manufacturer was aware of the issues.\n\nAt this time, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, dealership, police, or insurance representatives or others.
