1. Coolant is either leaking or evaporating which makes the coolant reservoir tank lose water that requires many refills after daily use. This led to the car to heat up without any notice in the middle of a busy highway with a narrow shoulder. This causes the car to release white smoke from the back with a chemical stench. A mechanic checked the car by raising it on a car lift for any leaks but th
... ere were no obvious leaks. 2. Car sometimes violently shakes upon turning on the ignition letting out a loud noise that can be heard from afar. The warning was a misfire on the #2 Cynlinder. We have replaced the old spark plugs and coils with new ones but the car still shakes at times and on the screen it says, 'Engine Fault Service Now". 3. There is also a warning on the system that reads, 'Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power'. Upon start of the warning the car abruptly slows to 35 mph max which is a great concern for safety when driving on the freeway/highway with many cars going 70-80 mph. A couple of mechanics have all mentioned something is wrong because the system slows down the car to avoid any more problems to arise and is a big concern for them as well. The computer used to analyze any issues does not directly call out a specific error even though there is an obvious issue with the powertrain. 4. There was an issue with the latch on the lift gate of the car but was fixed by Ford because it was covered under Extended Ford Warranty.Read more

My suv has paint that is peeling off of the suv that is not due to damage or something external to the paints surface. The color is pearl white and has been documented by many owners of cars Kia's with the pearl white paint color. The location on the passenger side a pillar is also a common starting point for this paint issue.

Per the existing recall on my vehicle, the driver’s side door handle has failed. It will unlatch at random times (including when driving at speeds between 1-20 mph), it will not unlatch when attempting to get into the vehicle, and the sensors have started to fail causing the car to believe the door is open when it isn’t which has caused the car to do an emergency stop on several occasions whil
... e it was in motion. This luckily hasn’t led to a collision yet but it easily could. I took the vehicle in to be inspected back in May 2023 when my dealership notified me they had the equipment to inspect the handle. They confirmed it had failed and told me at that time that they would order the parts needed to replace the handle but it might be a while as they were on back order. I spoke with them earlier this month (January 2024) and was lied to that the inspection in May wasn’t a real inspection and that they had just completed the inspection during my January visit. They knowingly deceived me that the parts were ordered in May and told me the car was still drivable and not a safety risk. This dealership knowingly put me at risk for 8 months and never bothered to communicate with me about the true status of the recall on my vehicle.Read more

I OWN A 2020 FORD ESCAPE. The Driver's Front Door started making a loud popping sound when opened and then it wouldn't close all of the way. It was hard to close but finally did. It kept making the popping noise louder every time it was opened and shut. Then, the Driver's Front Window failed to go down more than an inch and a half to two inches. It wouldn't roll up every time it was rolled down th

I took it to Mike White Ford Dealership in Coeur d'Alene, ID where I was informed that the welds on the control arm of the Driver's Door had failed and broken so the car needed to go to a body shop to be repaired. I used to have a 2021 performance y (the 2021 had none of these issues), and purchased a 2023 in early October. My current milage is 2,783. A few weeks into owning this car I could feel something hitting the cabin floor in varying situations. Initially I thought it was a road debris, but it was only at lower speeds. I should only be able to hear road debris and not feel it in the floor. I have com
... e to believe that the car has loose structural bolts. I have a crease/dent in the roof pillar (passenger rear above door). It is an almost impossible spot to hit without a scratch or breaking the glass, and it would take an exorbitant amount of force to bend that pillar. I now have singled it out to torsion moments like entering a driveway or ramp. I believe this twisting could potentially compromise the battery pack and lead to fires in wet conditions.Read more

My vehicle has never been in an accident. I have pictures showing a wide gap on the side of the back window on the hatchback. Lots of water gets into the back of the jeep. The water burned out some wiring that has caused issues with my jeep. It’s a 1200 dollar job, dealer states the water is getting in due to the design of the vehicle.

The seal around the panoramic sunroof is faulty. It allows for water intrusion down the inner lining of the "A" frame. Water is filling up along the floorboard. My 2009 Santa Fe's paint is peeling in large portions. It started on the driver's side door right below the window and has continued to crack and bubble all the way down the door. There has been no safety issues as of yet, but it will be a safety issue if I am driving and pieces or chunks of the paint fly off. If pieces or chunks fly off and land on my or another driver's windshield and blocks the
... ability of our vision it could be very dangerous and potentially cause an accident. I am not talking about little chips of paint here and there, I am talking about large size chunks. I know that I am not the only person who is having this issue, there are hundreds of people having this same issue and why there has not been a recall for this yet is blowing my mind. What is Hyundai waiting for a accident, a fatality? This is something that they need to make right, we work hard and when we purchase a vehicle for a lot of money and we take care of it so it will last us a long time and then the paint starts peeling all over the place and makes it look horrible not to mention it will begin to rust, how does Hyundai not feel obligated to fix it and make it right?Read more

There's an active recall for the doors on this car with guidance not to bring it in due to lack of parts to fix the vehicle. On 1/11/24 I was driving this car, on a major interstate, heard clicking noises, and the door decided to open on its on while the car was in motion. I was able to pull over and shut the door. On 1/12/24, the door decided to open on it's own again and make very loud clicki
... ng noises. At both times I was going around 15 miles an hour on major roads in my local area. Now, the door will not open from the exterior and still making major clicking noises. I was finally able to get it into the shop on 1/25/24 in which they did a diagnosis and confirmed the car needs a new door handle assembly but don't have a ETA on the parts for the assembly for this model vehicle. Keep in mind that the recall notice still says they will notify "affected vins" of when the parts will be available and this recall has been in effect since May 5th, 2023. I have no faith in them performing the repair on this unit and want to very much get a buyback rolling as this is a MAJOR safety concern.Read more

I was driving down the interstate and heard a tapping/clicking sound from the right side of my windshield that got progressively worse. After exiting and looking at the area where the noise was coming from, I noticed a trim piece missing. I later ide

Our 2016 Explorer was purchased new in 2015 and has never been in an accident or suffered any damage that could have caused the trim piece to detach. Since replacing the trim piece, I can hear faint fluttering from the same area. The trim piece appears slightly loose, although I've been told it's as secure as it can get. This happened around a year ago. I didn't think to report it until I read an article earlier about a recall for a loose trim piece on Ford Explorers. My first thought was that it was going to be about the same issue I experienced, but it was for a trim piece on the roof rails. I decided to submit this report in case this has happened to others with similar generations of our Explorer.Read more

Issue occurred and came to like during the past winter snow storm. The hood of the SUV does not allow and blocks the wiper blade arm from being lifted in order to clean ice off the wiper blade nor can the wiper arm be lifted to clear ice and snow under the wiper arm to allow proper operation. I had to use a cargo strap inside (around the door handle and seat) to keep the door closed to be able to go to work the next morning (not the safest thing to do but, I could not wait two weeks until Ford could look at it). When the weather got a little warmer (around 36 degrees) the door acted normally. A few days later we had temperatures in the low 20s and the issue reappeared. There were two reasons I knew that one of the doors had issues closing: 1) warning system that states that a door was ajar and 2) the interior light was on. I contacted Ford of La Plata, Maryland but they said that the VIN number is not part of the recall. When I asked if I could buy the parts to fix the issue myself, they said that the parts do not exist since my truck is not part of the recall.Read more
