At approximately 3000 miles, I started hearing clicking noises from front end when accelerating while turning. Noise is more pronounced when turning left and when car is cold, but is rapidly getting worse and is now apparent on both sides and occurs whether cold or not. Dealer says it is CV joints, and a bulletin is out on this repair. Parts are back ordered and not readily available. Google s
... earch reveals this is a widespread issue, which explains parts shortage. Dealer says no update to parts has yet occurred, so it seems likely I will need to replace CV joints every time my tires are rotated! After 3 years or 36K miles, it will be a $3000 tire rotation I will be paying for! Please hold GM/Honda responsible for engineering a fix to this problem. Lost power in the steering wheel. My safety and others is at risk because the steering wheel locks up completely at slow speeds and it's difficult to turn the steering wheel when turning a corner or trying to back up. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. The component has only been inspected by an independent service center. On 12/5/25 I received a warning on the d

When I got in the car around noon and proceeded to drive the steering wheel was really difficult to turn and I started seeing other notifications that flashed on the screen. As I drove the steering wheel because more difficult to turn. At low speed the steering wheel locked up and I managed to pull the car over to get out of traffic.Read more

On 12/5/2025, while driving my 2025 BMW X3 at approximately 35 mph on Milwaukee Ave (IL Route 21) during rush-hour traffic, the vehicle displayed a “drivetrain malfunction” warning and immediately lost propulsion; the engine completely shut down. The vehicle could not be driven under its own power and remained stopped in traffic with a minor child passenger present, creating a traffic hazard a
... nd risk of being struck (including rear-ended). Ambient temperature was approximately 12°F and we were stranded for about 2 hours awaiting a tow. The vehicle was towed and is currently at Knauz BMW (Lake Bluff, IL) and is available for inspection. The specific failed component/system is UNKNOWN at this time This is a repeat event. Approximately three days after purchase in New Jersey (6/25/2025 purchase date, 6/28 was the incident date), the same vehicle experienced a similar sudden loss of propulsion/power/shutdown while driving in heavy traffic while driving at ~60mph, again with my minor child passenger present. This same error occurred twice before the vehicle was taken to Morristown BMW and kept approximately 10 days for diagnosis/repair. Per the dealer, BMW technical assistance was consulted during that repair. The problem has recurred despite the prior repair. I believe this presents a safety defect due to sudden loss of propulsion while driving. I drive along tollway routes weekly, with speeds of 65mph+.Read more

Incident date: Apr 22, 2021
My 2023 Kia EV6 experienced a sudden ICCU and 12-volt system failure while traveling approximately 50 mph. Without warning, the vehicle instantly lost propulsion and all electrical power. This included loss of steering assist, braking assist, hazard lights, shift capability (unable to shift into Park), and even the ability to lock the doors. The failure effectively “bricked” the vehicle in mot
... ion. I was only able to get the vehicle off the roadway because the road happened to slope downward into a nearby lot. Steering required significant physical effort, the brake pedal went completely hard (“dead”), and the vehicle offered no functional parking brake or Park engagement once stopped. Because I was on a hill, we had to allow the car to roll to the bottom until it met a curb to prevent movement. After power loss, the doors could not be locked at all. This type of unrecoverable electrical failure creates an extreme safety hazard for the driver, passengers, and surrounding traffic. There is no pre-warning and no diagnostic indicator. The ICCU fuse appears to fail spontaneously and renders the vehicle uncontrollable in several critical respects. This is not an isolated issue. ICCU failures have been occurring across the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5/6 platforms for more than three years, including on brand-new 2025 models. The persistence of this defect across multiple model years indicates that the underlying design or component defect has not been resolved by the manufacturer. Given the suddenness of the failure, the total loss of vehicle control systems, and the long history of similar incidents reported by other owners, I am now hesitant to drive the vehicle due to the unpredictable and dangerous nature of the defect.Read more

On November 8, 2025,at approximately 9:00 a.m. , I was driving on the freeway at approximately 60 to 65 mph. All of a sudden the steering wheel stiffened and locked up and car pulled to right, at same time the engine malfunction light flashed on. This lasted for a moment then steering felt normal and engine malfunction light went off. Car steered normal after that and I exited the freeway to my d
... estination. At around 11:30a.m. I got back on the freeway and after a few minutes my steering wheel stiffened again and locked momentarily and car veered to the right at approximately 60 to 65 mph. The engine malfunction light flashed again and then the steering returned to normal and the engine malfunction light went off. My vehicle is available for inspection. My safety was at risk because when the steering got stiff and locked up momentarily I did not have control of the car. I was traveling at 60-65 mph on the freeway and cars were next to me in the other lanes. Since for this moment I did not have control of the car I could have veered into other vehicles putting others at risk. On December 2,2025 I had car checked by Hollywood Honda (dealer). They checked car and found no history of any error codes. They also test drove the car on the freeway and did not encounter any problems. They indicated the car had no problems they could detect. The car has not been inspected by anyone else. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to failure . The warning light only came on at time of failure. Since November 8, I have not taken the car on the freeway because I feel it is unsafe. I only use the car on surface streets for now and have not encountered any problems so far.Read more

am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety issue with my 2014 Jeep Compass. While driving, the vehicle feels as though the passenger-side front wheel is going to snap off at any moment. The sensation and noise appear to come from the wheel or axle area, and the instability is strong enough that the vehicle does not feel safe to operate. I have taken the vehicle to multiple mechanics
... for inspections and test drives. Despite these efforts, no one has been able to locate the source of the problem or identify any faulty components. Although the mechanics report finding nothing wrong, the issue remains and makes the vehicle extremely concerning to drive on public roads. Because the problem affects steering stability and overall safety, I believe this may be a potential defect. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this issue, determine whether other drivers have reported similar complaints, and consider whether an investigation or recall may be necessary. I can provide additional information, videos, photographs, or repair documentation if needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

I explained issue, requested a total diagnosis of everything that was wrong but most importantly, I wanted the total power loss issue diagnosed, pinpointed and resolved. because I don't feel safe driving until issue is truly diagnosed and fixed. I gave them my lifetimecarmaxplus warranty . The techs found a list of parts that needed to be fixed besides the power loss problem, but told me they couldn't fix the total power loss because no codes had been thrown. I explained that since there was a total power loss it was reported by other Dodge techs that no codes could be retrieved. I asked the service manager to ask his tech what diagnostics were used and to what extent to determine the problem. He said he would call me after talking to his tech but never did. I went to the dealership 2 weeks later and asked what he found out from his tech. He was confused and apparently never did anything more about the situation. I called Chrysler warranty, they gave me a case number but again seemed oblivious to the total power loss and fixing this major safety issue. Vehicle Cannot Be Safely Driven – Structural / Suspension Defect Suspected – Dealer Claims “Repair Completed” Despite Unequal Wheelbase My vehicle is currently unsafe to operate, due to the following critical issues: ⸻ 1. Left–right wheelbase inconsistency The front and rear wheelbase measurements are not equal side-to-side. This is a strong indicator of structural deviation, such
... as: •Subframe misalignment •Control arm mounting point displacement •Deformed suspension components •Manufacturing or assembly error in chassis geometry ⸻ 2. Front caster angles remain abnormal •Left caster: 3.9° •Right caster: 4.9° •Cross-caster difference: 1.0° A 1° difference exceeds manufacturer tolerances and causes: •Vehicle drifting •Poor straight-line stability •Uneven steering return •Potential instability during emergency braking This is a safety-related steering geometry defect. ⸻ 3. Real-world driving confirms unsafe behavior The vehicle cannot maintain straight-line travel, the steering wheel is off-center, and the car exhibits instability at normal speeds. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive. ⸻ 4. Despite these unresolved issues, the dealership insists the vehicle is “repaired” and demands that I pick it up. They refused to provide frame measurement reports or explanation for the unequal wheelbase. Returning a vehicle with unresolved steering and chassis geometry defects constitutes unsafe vehicle delivery. ⸻ Conclusion Based on unequal wheelbase, abnormal caster geometry, and inability to drive safely, this vehicle likely contains a structural or assembly defect. I formally request investigation, suspension geometry verification, and required action from the manufacturer, as this is a matter of public road safety.Read more

Complaint Summary: Steering system failure remains unresolved after Honda warranty repair. Complete loss of electric power steering. Complaint Details: I experienced a sudden and complete loss of electric power steering on my 2013 Honda Crosstour V6. The EPS warning light illuminated, steering effort increased drastically, and vehicle control at low speeds became difficult and unsafe. The vehicle
... was brought to a Honda dealership, which replaced the EPS control unit under Honda’s warranty extension 19-036. However, after the repair, the power steering is still completely inoperative. The same original diagnostic trouble code (DTC 32-09) returned immediately, showing that the underlying defect was never resolved. The dealership now claims the EPS steering gearbox has failed and quoted approximately $5,000, even though the failure began before the control unit replacement and the EPS system remains non-functional after the warranty repair. This appears to be an incomplete or incorrect repair of a safety-critical steering system. The vehicle continues to have zero steering assist at all times, causing significantly increased steering effort, especially at low speeds and during parking maneuvers. This creates an ongoing safety risk to the myself and others on the road. Loss of power steering after a warranty repair suggests a potential defect trend or misdiagnosis involving the EPS system. I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident for possible safety implications affecting steering reliability.Read more

Vehicle Purchased 05/27/2025 6/6/2025 - 9 days after purchasing the vehicle i was left stranded in the parking lot due to the battery issues. The vehicle showed a warning stating to "Service Charging System" and the entire system locked out and the vehicle was towed to to the dealer for evaluation and was there for over a week. When I received the car back they stated it was just the battery and
... not the charging system/hybrid system. 12/03/25 - While driving on the freeway, warning lights started coming up and the seat belt bell started going off even though everyone was buckled. Then my power steering was disabled, the ABS system was disabled and the breaks stiffened, lane assist was disabled, the airbags were disabled, and the SOS calling, and the engine shut off. When trying to change lanes we had to use extreme force to turn the wheel and the emergency lights wouldn't engage when the button was pressed. Due to the brakes being stiff beyond reason it took us passing 3 freeway exits to slow down enough to force the car off of the road. I had my children in the car and was terrified i was going to be in a crash or worse, lose control and veer off of the road. When i was able to pull off of the freeway, I was not able to drive as the car was continuing to shut off every few feet. I had to have my vehicle towed home and they next day when driving it to the dealer it was still without power steering, the ABS system, Airbags, the brake pedal was extremely stiff and the seatbelt bells were going off even though I had my seatbelt on from first getting into the car. Myself, my fiancé and our children's live were put at risk due to this vehicle failure. I picked my car up from the dealer today 12/5/2025 and they advised this was an issue with a connector that was replaced but the entire system had to be reset. I would also like to include that the vehicle now has an open recall that has no remedy and the dealer/Mfr. have yet to provide any updates.Read more
