I stopped at a red light in the middle of a 50 mph intersection when the light turned green The engine completely shut off, and it didn’t want to turn back on. I was stuck in the middle of the intersection in a very high risk area, putting myself and other drivers at risk. OnStar diagnostics didn’t report any issues with the truck. According to their diagnostics, everything should have been ru

There was no warning lights or anything before this happened. The first tow truck driver that came by was told that he was there “in order to do a jumpstart” He ran a diagnostic on both of the batteries and said that they were perfectly fine. Another tow truck had to be dispatched since the first wasn’t equipped to take the truck. In total we were stuck in the middle of the intersection for almost three hours. The amount of times we almost had someone crash into us during that time was very concerning. Dashboard and lights were all working perfectly fine. Auto start stop technology seems to have shut down the motor and was not able to get it to turn back on . This vehicle is a safety hazard.Read more

Good Morning, Ms. Edds My name is [XXX] . I spoke to you a few years back in regards, to a vehicle I had. Well, today I am writing about another situation . I have a 2020 Ford F250 vin [XXX] . Since purchasing this vehicle, I have had recall after recall on it and getting nowhere with Ford Motor Company Customer Service Division. I have a local dealership that I have taken it to Spalding Ford w
... ho does not take the time to look at the vehicle when I tell them there is an issue and what it is doing all they do is make 1 excuse after another and then about a week or so goes by and I get a recall letter about the issue I just complained about. The last time it was at this dealership they cracked my windshield and said they get back with me about getting it fixed so far nothing and I have called a number of times and now being told they had no idea about it. It has been several months but guess that is going to have to fall on me because no one wants to take accountability of their own actions. I have 3 outstanding recalls in which I complained about before the recall came into effect. I contacted a dealership located in the next county over who willingly sent a tech to my house for a recall when the tech got here he was unable to fix the recall do to the Ford Motor Company Customer Service Division running errors in their system and was unable to do the update. The front lower lateral link (rearward lower control arm) fastener/bolt completely backed out and fell off the vehicle while in motion, causing the lateral link to separate entirely from the subframe. This is the exact mechanical failure described in Tesla Recall Campaign 23V-235 (Service Bulletin SB-23-31-001), however, my specific VIN was not included in that recall. The vehicle and components a
... re currently at an independent EV repair facility and are available for inspection upon request. Photographic evidence of the missing bolt and separated control arm has been retained. The separation of the lower lateral link caused an immediate and violent collapse of the front passenger-side suspension geometry. The affected wheel was no longer anchored to the vehicle frame, causing it to fold backward and grind heavily against the wheel well. To keep the vehicle moving straight, the steering wheel had to be turned to an extreme 45-degree angle. This resulted in a near-total loss of steering control. Had this fastener failed while traveling at highway speeds instead of low speeds, it would have resulted in an uncontrollable, catastrophic collision. Yes. The problem was physically confirmed and documented by an independent, EV-certified repair facility (EVFixMe/Shocker Motors in Costa Mesa, CA) once the vehicle was placed on a lift. The vehicle was physically inspected by an independent service center. The manufacturer (Tesla) was contacted via the Tesla App; however, they refused to perform a physical diagnosis without pre-authorization of a $2,600+ comprehensive suspension replacement estimate and stated the vehicle was out of warranty with no open recalls. There were no dashboard warning lamps, digital alerts, or error messages from the vehicle's computer system prior to the failure. The failure presented suddenly as a loud, painful metal-on-metal grinding noise accompanied by immediate, severe steering misalignment. Currently waiting on invoice from indy shop.Read more

Since new Jeep has experienced "excess play in the steering" the Jeeps steering "wanders" and vehicle pulls to both the left and right. Steering wandering increases in hot temperatures and at higher speeds and becomes UNSAFE to operate the vehicle. When purchasing new, I noticed the "excess play in the steering", but was told by the Jeep salesperson that "that's how Jeeps drive" and "They do not d
... rive like typical passenger vehicles". I did not take my Jeep in for service for this issue because the salesperson told me that this is how the vehicle is designed to drive. However, I recently found out that Jeep issued a Technical Service Bulletin #08-074-20 REV.B back on September 26, 2020 that addresses this issue of "excess play in the steering" and "wandering" and the TSB gives recommendations to fix the steering by installing a new and improved Steering Gear Box that is made from steel as opposed to aluminum. I took my Jeep into a Jeep dealership with regards to this issue. The Jeep dealership confirmed that I have the "old style" steering gearbox mentioned in Technical Service Bulletin #08-074-20 REV.B and recommended that I replace it with the new design as recommended by the TSB. I asked Jeep to repair by vehicle free of charge as this is a "known" issue on Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2020 as described in the TSB, but Jeep refused to pay for the safetly modification to my steering, stating that I am "out of the warranty period". This is a KNOWN manufacture defect. Jeep installed inferior aluminum steering gear boxes on their Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2020 and 2020 Jeep Gladiators and they have since upgraded that critical safety component to a "steel version." Jeep should without question issue a "recall" to fix all current Jeep owners 2018-2020 Wrangler JLs and 2020 Jeep Gladiators that have a faulty aluminum steering gear box and replace it with the upgraded steel version that fixes the "wandering steering" and "excess play in the steering".Read more

DEFECT: Steering wheel fails to fully return to center after turns, consistently stopping 1/2-1 inch off-center. Minor steering adjustments stick and don't self-correct. Minor lane adjustments stick and require counter-correction. Constant
... manual steering correction causes driver fatigue. Progressive worsening since purchase. SAFETY: Incomplete return at highway speeds causes drift. Sticking divides attention from hazards. Emergency maneuvers require manual straightening during critical response time. SERVICE: February 2026 - McGovern Toyota technician documented "VEHICLE DID NOT RETURN OR SELF CENTER" but Toyota corporate refused repair claiming "normal characteristic." Had 6+ alignments with no improvement. Recent alignment caused binding to flip sides, proving internal mechanical binding not alignment issue. I visited Car Pros Kia Tacoma for a wheel alignment on my 2025 Kia Niro EV. After the service, I was told the alignment was completed correctly and I was given a printout showing all values in the green. However, the vehicle did not feel stable or safe to drive afterward. The steering felt off, and the car did not track straight. Because the vehicle felt unsafe, I took it to Firestone the next da

Firestone performed a full alignment check and their “before” measurements showed that the alignment was significantly out of specification, including major issues with front toe, rear toe, and thrust angle. These values were far outside normal ranges and could affect handling and safety. Firestone then corrected the alignment, and their “after” measurements showed the vehicle was properly aligned and driving normally again. Their report clearly shows the difference between the unsafe alignment I received from Kia and the corrected alignment they performed. In summary: • Kia performed an alignment that was not actually within proper specifications. • I was told the alignment was correct when it was not. • The vehicle felt unsafe to drive after Kia’s service. • Firestone’s diagnostic confirmed the alignment was significantly off. • Firestone corrected the alignment and the vehicle immediately drove normally. I am filing this complaint because the dealership returned my vehicle in a condition that affected its stability and safety, and the documentation from Firestone clearly supports this.Read more

I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my Mercedes-Benz Metris serviced at Mercedes-Benz Coconut Creek (Florida) under Recall VS2LAS561 – 9789VMCRC (Customer Service Case #20781216). On February 12th, I delivered the vehicle for recall service. It was returned on February 23rd without the recall properly completed. Invoice no. 328897 – tag T9514 lists replacement of four Continental
... 235/55 R17 tires and installation of four PRS sensor repair kits. These items were not installed. The tires were placed in the trunk, and only three used sensors are present; one wheel has no sensor. Additionally, the dealership provided 235/55 R17 tires, while the vehicle is homologated for 225/55 R17. Supplying non-approved tire sizes represents a safety concern. Since purchase (from the same dealership), I have reported tire pressure irregularities and abnormal lateral tire wear. During the most recent service, no tire rotation was performed despite documented uneven wear. Two weeks prior to the recall visit, I experienced a highway tire blowout while traveling with my family. When attempting to install the spare tire, I discovered the wheel lock removal key had been removed during a prior Mercedes service and not returned. I was unable to change the tire and required roadside assistance. The lug bolts had to be forcibly removed by an external shop, potentially damaging wheel components. The dealership has not properly resolved these safety-related issues. I do not feel safe operating this vehicle under current conditions. I request investigation into: • Recall execution compliance • Tire size compliance with vehicle specifications • Improper documentation of uninstalled parts • Removal of required emergency equipment (wheel lock key) These issues present potential safety risks to vehicle occupants and other road users. Prior to this incident, I experienced multiple separate occasions where braking felt abnormal and insufficient in conditions requiring higher traction including rain and snow. I verbally reported this concern once to an authorized Nissan dealer in December 2025 and was told this was normal AEB system behavior. No documentation was created for this verbal complaint. While using Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and other highways, the vehicle’s automated steering system repeatedly malfunctions by failing to maintain lane centering. Specifically, the car drifts or actively steers across double yellow lines into the lane of oncoming traffic. This issue is a persistent failure of the Advanced Driver Assistance S

The vehicle has attempted this maneuver multiple times at [Approximate Speed, e.g., 40-60 mph], requiring immediate and forceful manual steering intervention to avoid head-on collisions with oncoming vehicles. The system provides no warning chimes, error messages, or "Take Over Immediately" alerts prior to crossing the lines; it appears to perceive the oncoming lane as a valid path or fails to recognize the double yellow boundary entirely. This has occurred during [mention conditions: e.g., bright daylight with high glare / night time]. The vehicle is equipped with Hardware 3.0 (HW3). I believe the 1.2-megapixel camera suite or the processing power of the HW3 computer is insufficient to safely navigate the geometry of the PCH or any roads within mountains/hills. I have attempted to "Clear Calibration" and performed system resets, but the life-threatening behavior persists. The vehicle and its internal data logs are available for inspection. I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding a severe design defect in the 3.5L V6 engine of my 2013 Ford Explorer. The vehicle is equipped with an internal, chain-driven water pump that is currently failing at 100000 miles, as evidenced by coolant actively draining from the factory weep hole. Because this pump is located inside the engine block and driven by the timing chain, a complete s
... eal failure dumps engine coolant directly into the oil pan. This is a critical safety hazard. When the coolant and oil mix, it destroys the engine bearings and causes the engine to completely seize without warning. If this sudden engine seizure occurs while driving at highway speeds, it results in an immediate and total loss of motive power, power steering, and power brakes. This defect creates an extreme crash hazard for the occupants of the vehicle and other drivers on the road. The internal weep hole provides virtually no dashboard warning or indicator to the driver before this catastrophic failure occurs. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this known, dangerous design flaw to force a mandatory safety recall before this sudden loss of vehicle control causes severe injuries or fatalities.Read more

Yesterday I went to the Ford dealership and asked if my 2009 Ford Escape could have the power steering repaired under recall as the code from the OBD2 data is B2278 and that falls under a RECALL for PSCM Power Steering Control Module - STEERING SHAFT TORQUE SENSOR MALFUNCTION CAMPAIGN ID: 14V284000 FORD RECALL #14S05 I was advised there is no open recall of my vehicle and that this recall had been
... performed in 2014 as a software update. The history also shows my vehicle did not have any stored codes at the time of programming the PSCM. The recall work shows a 0.3 hours time slot for the Ford covered repair. This is and was a band aid and not a genuine remedy. Ford took the cheapest way out of this and denying the repair now is shameful. There are thousands of complaints since then right here on this site. If my Escape had this B2278 code at the time it was brought in, the steering column and torque sensor would have been replaced free of charge. Yesterday while at the dealership I called the Ford customer service national line and spoke with a very courteous gentleman but he was unable to honor a goodwill claim for me. I just want my vehicle to be safe to drive. I believe Ford should repair anyones vehicle that only had a software update and not actual replacement of defective parts. Fords own site says there is no expiration date on this recall. Ironically, this morning I had my power steering again fail while driving this time at the 90 bend in my drive. The steering completely locked up while attempting the turn. The front of my SUV crashed into a frozen snowbank damaging the front. I also wacked my forehead pretty good because I was not wearing my seatbelt yet. I normally get out at the end of my driveway and check my mail before leaving so I don't buckle up until that point. I'm pretty upset by all of this to the point I will be late to work this morning in taking the time to write this back at home. I work for myself and am an Electrician PLEASE MAKE FORD FIXRead more

Incident Date: October 26, 2025 Summary: On October 26, 2025, while merging onto a highway at high speed, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total electronic safety system failure. Without driver input, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system engaged the brakes (phantom braking), causing a dangerous, unprompted deceleration in active traffic. Simultaneously, the Electric Power Steer
... ing (EPS) assist failed, making the steering wheel extremely heavy and difficult to maneuver while trying to merge. Dashboard Alerts: The instrument cluster displayed a "Check Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system" message, and the following warning lights illuminated: Master Warning, ABS, Traction Control (ESC), and Forward Safety. Attempted Remediation: I pulled the vehicle over and let it cool down for over an hour, but the warning lights and system failures persisted upon restarting. Per manufacturer-recommended troubleshooting found online, I thoroughly cleaned all exterior sensors and was forced to manually disable the collision-avoidance and alert systems via the vehicle's computer settings just to be able to drive the car home safely. Current Safety Concern: Since this event, the vehicle has exhibited increased skidding and inconsistent traction during normal driving conditions. This instability occurs on any road at any time, specifically when performing routine turning maneuvers, and is not limited to winter conditions. This suggests a deeper mechanical or software failure within the ABS/ESC/AWD control modules that cannot be resolved by the driver. This VIN currently shows no active recalls, but the symptoms match the known defects in the SC275 and SC336 campaigns exactly.Read more

Belt tensioner/idler pulley began chirping during warm up after starting engine. Noticed serpentine belt was beginning to fray on edges. Dealership confirmed the pulley failed prematurely and caused the serpentine belt to be damaged. Dealership replaced pulley and belt. It was just after warranty expired. The belt is supposed to be replaced at 100,000 miles as routine maintenance, but the failure
... of the pulley, which the dealer informed me was also premature, but common, was not covered under warranty. Power steering was lost one time in park and a message showed on the dash, but went away after restarting the vehicle.Read more

Component Involved: Front suspension – Lower control arms Braking system (ongoing unresolved brake noise) Description of the Safety Issue: The front lower control arms on my 2024 Mazda CX-90 show visible erosion/corrosion and looseness. The condition was identified during inspection by a national tire service center and documented on video. The component remains on the vehicle and is availabl
... e for inspection. The dealership has been notified of persistent brake noise during the last five oil change visits, but the concern has not been resolved. Safety Risk: The loose and eroded lower control arms create a significant risk of: •Loss of steering control •Suspension instability •Increased likelihood of component failure •Potential crash risk at highway speeds There were no warning lights related to suspension failure prior to discovery. The defect was identified during independent inspection rather than through vehicle alerts. Confirmation: The condition was observed and documented by an independent service center. The manufacturer has not yet conducted a formal inspection beyond routine service appointments. No crash has occurred to date, but the condition poses a clear safety risk. Additional safety information will be provided once the inspection is complete.Read more

The ABS, traction control, and 4x4 lights all came on at the same time. None are operable. During my research I was able to find recall 75b that aligns with the exactly with my current set of issues. 24v-653 is the NHTSA recall number associated. I need that recall added to my vehicle so I can get the very unsafe issue fixed
