Hi, its not really an incident but I found what have happened suspicious. I got my tesla from the delivery zone at the Giga factory in Austin, TX last Wednesday. Right after the delivery i found an issue with steering wheel alignment. Steering wheel was tilted right and car was pulling right in the road. I addressed this issue to Tesla and visited service center last Saturday Nov-22nd. Technician
... confirmed an issue. Wheels alignment was performed on the vehicle and it was returned to me on the same day. As soon as I got the the road I found that issue wasn't fixed. It went better but not fully fixed. I came to the service center again. Senior technician took a ride with me and confirmed the issue again. She also told me that they will probably will have to look into suspension because alignment didnt help last time and it could be more serious issue. The car was taken care of and returned to me in 90 min or so. Service advisor told me that suspension and steering were torqued and another alignment performed. When I took it to the road and I found that issue was fixed and I'm happy now but ifter that i recieved a message from the Service Center that I found suspicious. Despite the communication in person in the message afterwards was stating that no issues were found (See attach). I found this suspicious and decided to let you know as that may look like an attempt to hide some serious safety concern with steering. Please find screenshot in the attachmentRead more

Within weeks of purchasing my brand-new 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, this past Thursday when leaving for my workday the steering wheel on my vehicle became completely immovable when I attempted to leave. I started the vehicle and tried to turn the wheel, but it would not move at all. There were no warning lights or alerts. I had no ability to steer or maneuver the vehicle, and it was completely undri
... veable. The vehicle had to be towed from my workplace to the dealership because the steering would not turn. After diagnosis, the dealer informed me that the entire power steering rack had failed and required full replacement. A power steering rack is a critical safety component, and a failure of this magnitude on a brand-new, very low-mileage vehicle is extremely concerning. If this defect had occurred while driving, it could have led to a total loss of steering control and a serious crash. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA record this incident as a safety-critical steering system failure and investigate whether similar power-steering or steering-rack failures may be occurring in other 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokees.Read more

My 2016 Cadillac ATS Coupe has a serious repeating safety defect. The vehicle violently shakes, vibrates, and becomes unstable while driving. This happened TWICE. Cadillac told me the opposite — “safe to pick up” — even though they did no real diagnostic. Cadillac refused to give anything in writing, refused a loaner, and ignored multiple emails. A Cadillac representative told me they reviewed the previous calls, meaning they know the full history. They still refused to fix the dangerous defect. I have paid over $33k, paid $4k for the first repair, still owe $7k, and Cadillac now wants another $7k for the same issue. This is a major safety risk to me and other drivers.Read more

After intermittently experiencing sticking of my steering wheel and creaking/grinding when turning the wheel, in April 2024 my vehicle’s rack & pinion recall was closed at Northside Honda (28,676 miles). In May 2024, I was provided a free oil change at the same dealership. I wasn’t informed of any failed recommendations or provided a copy of the multipoint inspection (29,328 miles). The sticky
... steering continued to be intermittent and I was unable to replicate it, specifically as cooler weather began. In February 2025, my vehicle’s steering gearbox recall was closed and corrective action was performed at Hill Country Honda due to my sticky steering noticeably occurring at highway speeds, making it difficult to return to center, specifically during a drive home from work that required significant effort to stay in my lane (38,957 miles). In October 2025, I scheduled another inspection, as the sticky steering had noticeably returned once more at highway speeds. It was then diagnosed by Hill Country Honda’s technician to be an internal failure of the gearbox with a recommendation of electric steering gearbox replacement (51,073 miles). After numerous attempts to inform Honda Corporate of my recent finding (fail recommendation “incorrectly assembled steering rack”) which Northside Honda never mentioned to me in 2024, neither Honda Corporate nor the dealership will take accountability. I’ve also noted that no comments were listed in the rack and pinion recall to indicate a concern/complaint, despite my description stated above. The dealership is continuing to state my car was not included in the recall though listed on my oil change visit after the recall was closed and they won’t cover 100% replacement regardless of this being incomplete warranty work from 2024. A new investigation NEEDS to be opened on this steering recall. Honda Corporate’s corrective action has not helped numerous people from what I’ve researched even with the replacement of a steering rack.Read more

In September 2023, when getting my vehicle serviced for a routine oil change, I was told there was a leak in my radiator. They replaced the entire thing under warranty. On November 15th, 2025, while driving on the highway heading home from out of town with my children, an error flashed up saying “steering assist is reduced – drive with care” Upon arriving home, the fan on my car was running
... on high for a solid 10 minutes after turning the car off. No recall but Special Coverage N252508350 covers the thermostat replacement. Upon inspection by a mechanic, I was informed that the radiator is also leaking again in the exact same spot as it was previously. It should be noted I have never seen leaking fluid in my garage/driveway. I’ve driven less than 10,000 miles since the radiator was replaced previously. If there is a known problem with the coolant system which can cause overheating and steering assist issues, why isn't the faulty radiator and thermostat recalled. The radiator is cased in plastic to aluminum. Plastic can easily catch fire if a car overheats. The casing also prevents an owner from even knowing if there is a leak since the plastic is catching leaks - the mechanic informed me that's why I didn't know about both times it leaked. This is a 4yr old car with 46k miles, twice replaced radiator and thermostat. A recall should be issued since both problems could potentially cause a fire from an overheated engine & loss of steering assist while driving. A google search quickly showed me thousands of other Chevy Blazers from 2019-2021 with reoccurring thermostat and radiator issues. I feel unsafe driving in my vehicle but still owe too much to even trade it in for something else. I've owned dozens of vehicles in my lifetime, used and new and keep them 8-10yrs and have never had to replace a thermostat and radiator. This vehicle is dangerous due to GM/Chevy's cheap radiator model and thermostat which could overheat and catch fireRead more

Escalating Safety Concern – Loud Clunking, Thumping, and Cracking from Front Axle at Low Speeds We are long-time loyal customers and currently own four identical Mercedes-Benz models. Unfortunately, one of our vehicles, a 2021 mb glb250 has recently developed severe clunking, thumping, and loud cracking noises originating from the front axle area, noticeable especially at low speeds. The proble
... m appeared suddenly and is rapidly worsening. After researching the issue, we’ve discovered that many owners of the exact same model and model year report identical symptoms. This appears to be a widespread and recurring problem that raises serious safety concerns, particularly as it affects the front axle and is uncommon in other modern vehicles of this class and young age. Given the potential safety implications and the growing number of affected owners, we respectfully request that Mercedes-Benz investigate this issue promptly, acknowledge it as a known concern, and provide an appropriate inspection and repair at no cost to us. We love the brand and have always trusted its engineering and safety standards, which makes this experience especially distressing. We would greatly appreciate your immediate attention and a clear response on next steps.Read more

I am reporting multiple safety-related defects on my 2017 Tesla Model S (VIN [XXX] ) that were present at the time of purchase but not disclosed by the selling dealer (Starling Ford, Titusville, FL). All of these conditions existed prior to the sale and were not disclosed. I am requesting NHTSA to log this complaint for federal safety review as these defects involve suspension, electrical moisture intrusion, and visibility issues that may impact the safe operation of the vehicle. Upon purchasing the vehicle, I discovered multiple critical safety defects that were not disclosed at the time of sale and were confirmed by an independent EV specialist (Electrified Garage). These defects include worn and failing front and rear suspension components (control arms, thrust arms, and cracked/damaged bushings), a failing sway bar link boot, and a malfunctioning window that makes cont
... act with the internal wiring harness. The suspension defects create instability over bumps and uneven roads, producing clunks, shifting, and vibration that affect steering control and overall stability. These issues present a risk of suspension failure while driving, which could cause loss of control. The window/wiring contact also poses a potential electrical hazard if the harness becomes damaged. The independent inspection documented that these defects existed before I took possession of the vehicle. The dealer did not disclose any of these issues, and the defects were not visible during a standard test drive. I am reporting this because the suspension defects directly affect vehicle handling, safety, and crash-avoidance capability. I want NHTSA to be aware in case similar defects appear in other vehicles of the same model/year.Read more

I am submitting a complaint regarding my 2020 Jeep Gladiator, which has exhibited persistent and dangerous steering issues since shortly after I purchased it. The issue is commonly referred to as the "death wobble." Despite 5 separate repair attempts performed by an authorized Jeep/Stellantis dealership, the safety defect continues to occur. This issue is very commonly know to Jeep. I have even be
... en told my the Service Agent I worked with at the dealership that the steering damper is known to be inadequate, but still continually put on the Jeep. The issue started at approximately 25,000 miles, and upon the 5th time bringing it in for the same safety defect, the car is at 92,000 miles. At highway speeds, if the vehicle hits any uneven pavement, the car will begin to shack violently and the vehicle becomes difficult to control. On multiple occasions, the vehicle felt uncontrollable. This creates an extremely unsafe driving condition for me, my family, and other drivers on the road. I have to be hyper focused to avoid any pothole or other change in pavement in order to try and prevent the steering defect to happen. Even when the steering damper has been replaced, the new one can break at any point again, creating a danger every time this vehicle is driven on the highway. I have opened a formal complaint with Jeep as I can no longer use the vehicle in good conscious with my 4-month old daughter. The defect-steering damper breaking can happen anytime, as the exact same part is replaced each time with no successful remedy. I am asking the NHTSA to investigate the steering defect, determine whether a broader safety recall is necessary, assist in compelling Stellantis to provide an appropriate remedy for a vehicle that has undergone multiple unsuccessful repair attempts for a safety-critical defect. I have included all service documents and my communication with Jeep/Stellantis.Read more

The safety of the owner and other drivers was put at risk by the sudden, unpredictable loss of steering control (locking mid-turn). This makes it impossible t
... o safely navigate curves or avoid hazards, leading to a high risk of a severe crash, injury, or fatality. The no-start condition also strands the owner. UNKNOWN. The report only states that the symptoms strongly align with an ESCL failure based on a diagnostic summary, but does not explicitly confirm a dealer or independent service center has reproduced or confirmed the specific ESCL component failure. UNKNOWN. The report does not mention inspection by the manufacturer (Nissan), police, or insurance representatives. The main warning symptom is the intermittent brake warning light (randomly turning on and off while driving, with no clear cause). The problems have been ongoing for the past year and appear to be worsened by the extreme heat in [XXX] . The vehicle generally does not display helpful diagnostic codes despite serious failures. The incident involves multiple, recurring, safety-critical failures in a 2021 Nissan Kicks, including the catastrophic loss of steering function while driving. The core issue is assessed to be a malfunctioning Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL). This failure causes the steering wheel to jam/lock, intermittent no-start conditions, and electrical inconsistencies (random brake light/lack of diagnostic codes). These failures are beyond the driver's control, unpredictable, and create an extreme safety hazard, rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. I've owned my car less than 4 months and it's acted up twice! I turn on the car and it refused to move. A steering wheel icon with an exclamation point displays on the dash. It just remains idle and it will NOT drive. It's a brand new 2026 and it's November 2025. It's extremely frustrating.
