I purchased a vehicle from Banter Auto here in Wichita, Kansas. I reviewed the Carfax beforehand and nothing stood out that scared me so I signed off and purchased the vehicle. I’ve been told by several mechanics the last 5 times I’ve been in and out of mechanic shops it’s evident my car sat

I finally took it to an electrical auto specialist here in town and while he said it is evident my vehicle sat deep water for a period of time and while the corrosion hasn’t quite started to cause an electrical problem that it very well could down the road. I’ve given the man who owns the dealership and opportunity to make this right however he stopped responding. I believe that is illegal and I’ve been told it should’ve been a “flood title”. When I first got the car, the locks and windows were going insane flickering all over the place and Kia dealership told me it was quite crazy and nothing they had seen before, however, they were able to fix it. I strongly believe that when my car was flooded it caused something to happen that I’m only going to have to keep paying for overtime. This has been occurring for many months. Experience STICKY STEERING! Seems to be air temperature and speed related. The steering is fine initially until I've driven 10-15 miles. I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall affecting my 2016 Range Rover Sport TDV6, VIN: [XXX] . This vehicle is subject to Recall D019 (NHTSA Recall 25V-514). Despite the recall being issued, I have contacted the dealership multiple times and have repeatedly been told that the remedy or required parts are not yet available. There has been no clear timeline provided for when th
... e repair will be available. Both the front and rear components associated with this recall on my vehicle appear visibly defective and concerning. This creates a significant safety concern for me as the operator of the vehicle. I rely on this vehicle daily and should not be forced to continue driving a vehicle with known defective safety-related components while waiting indefinitely for the manufacturer to supply parts. A safety recall should include a prompt and effective remedy. The ongoing delay in making repair parts available places vehicle owners and the public at risk and undermines the purpose of issuing a safety recall. I respectfully request that this matter be investigated and that the manufacturer be required to provide a timely repair remedy. Owners should not be left operating vehicles with known safety defects due to delays in recall implementation. Subject: Safety Defect / Recall Not Properly Completed – 2018 Ram 2500 Steering Drag Link Vehicle: 2018 Ram 2500 VIN: [XXX] Recall Campaign: 19V‑021 / V06 – Steering Drag Link Jam Nut Complaint Description: I am filing a safety complaint regarding a potential unresolved defect on my 2018 Ram 2500. This vehicle was included in Recall 19V‑021 / V06, issued to address a safety issue where
... the steering drag link jam nut may loosen, potentially resulting in loss of steering control. The dealership claimed that the recall was performed on my truck. However, upon inspection, I have observed the following: 1.The jam nut on the outboard drag link is completely smooth with no tack weld, and it spins freely by hand. 2.The drag link steering arm has snapped completely in half. This failure occurred while driving at low speed (~30–35 mph) and could have caused a serious accident or fatality. 3.The installed components appear to be the original, pre-recall parts, not the upgraded or properly repaired components required by the recall. Due to these observations, it is clear that the recall repair was either not performed or performed incorrectly. This poses an immediate and serious safety risk. I request that NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure that my vehicle and others like it receive proper recall repairs, and to hold the manufacturer accountable for reporting and completing recall repairs accurately. I have photographs of the failed component and the jam nut condition available upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The dealer noted that my VIN was not listed as included in the relevant recalls, although many vehicles from the same model year were included in Ford recall 19S26 (NHTSA 19V632000), which addresses corrosion or breakage of electric power steering gear motor bolts and potential loss of power steering assist. No prior symptoms were noted before the warning message appeared. The failure was sudden and occurred while the vehicle was in motion. I am reporting a failure of the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) in my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Overland. The failure is manifesting as an error message saying "service transmission" and the code that it is throwing says that the paddle shifters are overheating. This component is identical to the modules currently under Safety Recall 36B (NHTSA 24V-199) and Equipment Recall 15B (NHTSA 24E-0
... 25). The manufacturer has admitted that these modules possess an internal weld defect that prevents the driver’s side airbag from deploying in the event of a crash. Despite the clear safety risk and the fact that this model year/body style (WL) is the primary population for this defect, the manufacturer (Stellantis/Jeep) refuses to cover the repair, stating my specific VIN is not "flagged" in their internal database. I am concerned that the scope of the existing recalls is too narrow and that my vehicle is currently being operated with a non-functional or unreliable driver's airbag system due to this known hardware defect. 2013 Ford F‑150 Limited – VIN [XXX] On [XXX], my 2013 Ford F‑150 Limited experienced a sudden and dangerous transmission failure involving the transmission conductor plate (lead frame). My son was driving the vehicle when the dashboard abruptly shut off, multiple warning lights illuminated, and the truck lost engine power. Shortly afterward, while braking, the engine attempted to accelerat
... e on its own, and the vehicle resisted slowing down. This created an immediate and life‑threatening situation. These symptoms match the known failure mode of defective 6R80 transmission lead frames, which NHTSA has previously identified as a serious safety hazard due to sudden loss of power, erratic shifting, unintended acceleration, and dashboard failure. The vehicle became undriveable and could not be safely transported to a Ford dealership. It had to be repaired at a nearby independent shop (Auto Stop Elite of Purcellville, VA). The conductor plate was replaced on February 12, 2026, at a total cost of $1,689.59. Despite this being a well‑documented safety defect affecting many Ford F‑150 owners, no recall or service campaign was ever issued for my VIN. No warnings appeared on Ford’s website, Carfax, or through any Ford communication. Other owners have received reimbursement from Ford for the same failure, yet Ford provided no notice or remedy in my case. This defect placed my son’s life in danger and represents a clear safety issue that should be addressed. I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident as part of the ongoing pattern of conductor plate/lead frame failures in Ford’s 6R80 transmissions. We are informing you because we have contacted Ford and they have done NOTHING to resolve this. We had to have it repaired and were never aware that there was a safety recall. The vehicle is experiencing multiple serious mechanical failures affecting the brake system, powertrain, and steering/wheel components. The brake system produces a constant hissing sound and appears to have lost braking assist. When the brake pedal is depressed the vehicle continues to roll forward and requires excessive force to stop. The vehicle has rolled forward while braking at intersections,
... creating a significant safety hazard for both the driver and surrounding traffic. These symptoms were first reported on February 4, 2026. Shortly afterward the vehicle was inspected by a Chrysler dealership, which documented a brake vacuum leak in the braking system. Despite that inspection and documentation, the braking condition has continued to worsen and the vehicle no longer feels safe to operate. The braking performance is inconsistent and stopping distance appears to be increasing. In addition to the braking failure, the vehicle experiences powertrain issues including transmission hesitation, delayed shifting, and loss of power during acceleration and when driving uphill. The vehicle also has severe vibration and instability originating from the front driver-side wheel or steering area while driving, which affects vehicle stability and control. These combined mechanical failures involving braking, drivetrain operation, and steering/wheel stability create a serious safety risk during normal operation, particularly while braking in traffic or attempting to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle currently feels unsafe to operate due to these worsening conditions and unresolved mechanical defects.Read more
