To start model Honda CRV 2018 did indeed have a recall in 11/2018 but only for 56 or 57 autos which mine was NOT one. My SUV with only 55k miles has started to have sticking in the steering wheel mechanism/hydraulics/or electrical systems relating to steering for the last 7 - 9 months. I was told by the service person in 04/26 that they would investigate the issue for $250+ bucks and if they ne
... eded to repair it the cost would be around $3.5k. I am a senior citizen and I think is exorbitant. Im afraid the steering wheel jerking with eventually cause the SUV to veer out of its own lane into another. The SUV has not been inspected by anyone. There have been no indication lights or other system problems prior to this happening.Read more

2022 Wagoneer Series III has major alignment issues and ruining tires with the outside tire edges cupping/wearing bald due to the alignment kicking out within an hour of being aligned and driven at highway speeds. Vehicle also has a death wobble when going over 65 mph and pulls hard to the right almost causing the vehicle to go off the road or into another lane if you are not bare knuckling the st
... eering wheel to the left to counteract the hard right pulling. Vehicle has been in and out of the Dealership since 12/2024 to address the problem, however FCA/Stellanis has come back with no fix or solution to the problem and states to bring the vehicle in every 3,000 miles to have an alignment done, which is unacceptable. The vehicle has most recently been at the Dealership since 1/2026 and is still currently at the Dealership as of today 6/5/2026. A Star ticket was opened with the Manufacturer to address the issues, and a Field Engineer was sent out who was unable to diagnose why the alignment is falling out after the vehicle is realigned. Stellanis/FCA is now claiming this is a "maintenance" issue and not a manufacturing defect. The Dealership most recently had an independent technician who specializes in diagnostics/troubleshooting FCA issues look at the vehicle and the technician also could not diagnose why the alignment is continuing to fail. Online forums have hundreds of Consumer complaints about this same issue with trying to get it resolved with FCA directly and having no luck. This is a major safety issue that will eventually lead to a tire blowout or veering off the road and could result in serious injuries to someone if this is not addressed properly. It should not take someone getting in an accident or being killed/seriously injured for FCA/Stellanis to take this manufacturing defect seriously. These vehicles need to be recalled and thoroughly inspected with thorough alignment testing.Read more

After a day of heavy rain, the vehicle stalled at a stop light and would not restart. The steering wheel and transmission locked, preventing the vehicle from being placed in neutral, creating a safety hazard as the vehicle was immobile in traffic. No warning lamps appeared prior to the failure. The vehicle required a tow. The dealer confirmed water had intruded through the passenger side cowl/fir

The BCM failed due to water damage, causing PATS desynchronization and the no-start condition. The BCM failure subsequently shorted out the starter motor. Dealer replaced the BCM, repaired the leak, and replaced the starter. Total repair cost approximately $3,200. Failed components are available for inspection at the dealership. This identical failure; passenger side cowl water intrusion leading directly to BCM damage — is documented across numerous 2021+ F-150 owner forums, indicating a widespread factory sealing defect at the cowl/firewall/inner fender seam junction.Read more

My 2016 Ford F-150 is currently subject to Recall 26S28 / NHTSA Recall 26V237. Prior to the recall remedy becoming available, the vehicle began experiencing erratic transmission shifting and illuminated the check engine light, wrench symbol, and codes P0720 and P0722 were present. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Ford dealership for diagnosis. The dealership documented that the vehicle was
... experiencing erratic shifting and was considered not drivable. The technician determined that the erratic shifting condition was related to DTCs P0720 and P0722 and recommended replacement of the transmission lead frame/conductor plate. The technician also noted the need for additional diagnostics involving the Output Speed Sensor (OSS) circuit within the transmission. The vehicle remains available for inspection at the dealership. This condition created a safety concern because the transmission was shifting erratically and the vehicle could not be relied upon for normal operation. Unpredictable transmission behavior creates a risk during acceleration, merging, highway travel, and other driving situations where consistent vehicle response is required. At the time, I was preparing for a cross-country military PCS move and did not believe the vehicle was safe or reliable to drive long distance. The problem was confirmed by an authorized Ford dealership who documented the condition, diagnostic codes, and repair recommendation. The findings were provided to Ford Motor Company through Corporate Case Number CXH-08096574-L9M6T4. Ford representatives advised that the Automotive Safety Office was notified regarding the technician findings and the open recall. My concern is that the vehicle developed transmission-related symptoms involving P0720, P0722, erratic shifting, and a recommended lead frame/conductor plate replacement while subject to an active safety recall affecting related transmission systems. Ford has stated that the recall remedy is not available until July 2026.Read more

While driving my 2022 Honda CRV at highway speeds and at operating temperature, the steering sticks and/or pauses then releases causing the steering to jerk back in the opposite direction. This creates a major safety issue while driving on the highway and can potentially cause an accident. Additionally, when turning the vehicle left at slow speeds, we would periodically hear a clicking noise. Thes
... e problems began at the beginning of 2024 and have progressively gotten worse. Initial attempts to have Honda identify the problems failed as they could not replicate the problems at the time of diagnostics. During this time, our warranty expired. On May 20, 2026, we once again had the vehicle inspected by Pohanka Honda of Salisbury, MD for the same issues. This time the lead mechanic technician was able to replicate and pinpoint the problem. He noted the problem was the "Electrical Power Steering System Assembly and Gearbox Assembly", which contained the worm gear and worm wheel assembly. The dealership quoted us a price of $2,153.00 for parts, labor, and a full alignment, which is required during this type of repair. The service technician advised there are no current recalls to cover the cost of this repair. The Honda Corporation has suggested we apply for their “Goodwill Assistance Program”, to help cover cost for out-of-warranty repairs, but there was no guarantee that we would qualify for any monetary relief. We believe Honda Corporation is ignoring a major defect and safety issue regarding the electrical power steering assembly and gearbox, on older CRV models. This same part has been deemed as defective and a major safety issue on newer CRV models between 2023-2025 and has recalled those vehicles for repair. I believe the company should be required to recall all vehicles with the defective electrical power steering assembly and gearbox. Fortunately for us, Honda made the repair and covered the full cost through the Goodwill Assistance Program.Read more

Later that Night it happened again at about 25 -30 MPH and pulled to the right and almost into the right side ditch, on a two lane Highway. My Safety was at risk because I could have hit a Telephone Pole or have been steered into the right side ditch. IF it had happened, on a Multi-Lane Highway, I could have Hit a Vehicle in the Right Lane. Others are put at Risk, because anyone on a Sidewalk near the Right side Curb, Could have been Hit, by this Uncontrolled Steering. The U-Haul Regional Manager, Emily Noe said it had not been reported by anyone else. This U-Haul Truck had about 14K miles on it and is fairly new. I assume this U-Haul Truck had been Inspected, before being placed on the Road. There is the Yellow Sticker inside the Truck, with Black Letters that warn about pulling On the Parking Brake before Parking and shutting down the engine....which I did!!! I feel other U-Haul Customers should be warned before an Accident DOES occur. Better Yet this U-Haul Truck should be taken off the Road.Read more

Vehicle: 2019 Ram 1500 Mileage at Time of Incident: Approximately 88,000 miles The vehicle experienced an intermittent failure of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system. While operating the vehicle, a "Power Steering Unavailable" warning message appeared, resulting in a loss of power steering assist and significantly increased steering effort. The condition occurred unexpectedly and created a s
... afety risk by reducing the driver's ability to safely maneuver and control the vehicle, particularly during low-speed operation, turning movements, and emergency maneuvers. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Ram dealership (Lander's Dodge Chrysler Jeep Bossier City, LA.) Diagnostic testing identified Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C2217, which the dealership stated indicates an internal failure of the Electric Power Steering system and/or steering rack assembly. The dealer recommended replacement of the rack and pinion assembly for $2,600 BUT the part was on back order and could take 4 months or more before the part comes in. I'm at a loss. The failed component is available for inspection upon request. The defect placed the driver and other motorists at risk because steering effort increased unexpectedly, reducing vehicle controllability. No prior collision or damage is known to have caused the failure. The dealership has confirmed the condition through diagnostic testing. Manufacturer inspection is UNKNOWN. Police involvement is UNKNOWN. Insurance inspection is UNKNOWN. Prior symptoms included an intermittent "Power Steering Unavailable" warning message. The exact date of the first occurrence is approximately 6 months ago, but after sitting overnight the message disappeared and there was no problem. It happens sporadically. Based on the diagnostic findings and dealer assessment, the apparent cause of the incident is an internal failure of the Electric Power Steering system associated with DTC C2217.Read more
