The car started locking up my steering wheel. I took it to the mechanic and they ran the codes and said it is the ABS control system module. I called the dealer to get the part and they said it is on back order nationally and it may be months before they can get the part. The 2018 model for Chevrolet traverse has been recalled for this exact thing but my model has not even though this is a known i

I own a 2020 Harley-Davidson Road Glide equipped with keyless ignition, where the motorcycle is started using the right handlebar run/stop switch. The ignition switch on the triple tree remains installed and is used only for the fork lock. The motorcycle can be started and operated while the ignition switch is in the fork lock position. The fork lock does not fully engage unless the handlebars are
... turned fully to the left. This creates a condition where the motorcycle can be ridden with the fork lock partially engaged. While riding, if the handlebars are turned fully left, the fork lock can suddenly engage, causing an immediate steering lock and loss of control. There is no interlock to prevent the motorcycle from starting or being operated with the fork lock engaged or partially engaged, and there is no warning to the rider that the fork lock is engaged. I experienced this condition personally, which resulted in a loss of control of the motorcycle. This presents a serious safety hazard.Read more

At highway speed, the steering has ratcheting feel. Move it by 0.5 degree, and it tries to boost the move by 1 degree or 2. At parking lot speed, when the steering is turned to dead ends, the stepped boost is also noticeable. This is likely related to the "sticky steering" recall (NHTSA 24V-744). The problem still persists for vehicles manufactured after the end date of the recall

2020 Chevy Blazer RS 3.6L V6: having intermittent issues with ‘check engine’ light activating and giving code P0128 - indicating “Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)”. Symptoms include: - Temp gauge drops to reading “C” (cold), - AC blows warm/hot air, - Dash displays message, “Steering Assist is Reduced, Drive with Care”, - Radiato
... r (electric) fans run full speed. It seems that the computer is interpreting the engine coolant temperature sensor drop as a ‘stuck open’ thermostat, thus the indicated code. However, at the same time it also appears to assume a bad coolant temp sensor, and failsafes to disable the AC and set the radiator fans to max to avoid potential overheating. The problem with this is that this can occur after driving for some period that the engine is suitably warm, then I can pull off the road, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, and everything goes back to normal operation. A broken thermostat would not behave this way. * This happened in Mar 2025 - after disconnecting the battery about 5-6 times over about a 1wk period the code cleared and we were able to pass inspection. The issue did not reoccur until about the same time this year. It has been recurring periodically since. * After reading numerous postings on this issue, with numerous different vehicles that have this engine and computer, I have no faith that the dealership will provide a solution other than charging me to replace the thermostat, and ending up with the same problem a few weeks later.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Power steering / steering wheel responsiveness steering wheel "stuck" in position. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? On curved roads or roads at highway speeds, small steering corrections are not always possible. Excessive force must be used to "snap" the steering wheel out o
... f being stuck, which can cause the vehicle to swerve slightly. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, they do not spend enough time with the vehicle or do the proper preparation to recreate the issue. Or they charge high fees just to try to determine the issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, not to my knowledge. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, none. Other notes: This has happened since the vehicle was under warranty, circa 2018/2019. It happens most often on very hot days, or when the car has been driven for a while, and mostly happens at speeds around 70 mph, though can happen as low as 40 mph. *When researching it does appear that the 2016 Honda Civic EX 2.0L sedan shares a part number with other Honda vehicles that were part of a recall regarding steering issues.*Read more

The sticky steering issue has returned even after the initial recall repair. Instead of replacing the entire steering rack, they only applied a temporary fix with grease the first time. In several instances, the steering wheel has become momentarily stuck in a fixed position, requiring significant physical force to "break it loose" and regain control of the vehicl

Multiple times, with the Pilot Assist system engaged, the vehicle has pulled me out of my intended travel lane when on a curve, near an on / off ramp, and generally tends to drift from the left to right of the intended lane of travel on straight sections of road. It will drift to the rumble strip and sometimes into the next lane with both hands firmly on the wheel. I find myself fighting the sys
... tem at these times. When it gets confused, with corners or merges, and on / off ramps, it will abruptly change lanes which is very dangerous. Twice it almost caused an accident. I have had it looked at many times now by Gengras Volvo in East Hartford where I bought the car. I was provided a loaner each time but the car has been in their shop for close to a month over these visits. It happend on one test drive with their repair tech driving the car, so the issue has been verified and recorded by Gengras. Multiple components of the system have been changed out and Volvo has downloaded and reviewed the telemetry twice. Volvo's stance is that the system is functioning correctly, and in times if inclement weather it may not work as intended. Most of my incidents happened on dry roads. Upon researching this on the internet, there are many other owners of Volvos of my year and others complaining of the exact same issues and behavior of the car. I feel it may be a design flaw but in my opinion the system is not safe to use. Volvo went to a completely different system soon after 2021. This was a very expensive option to purchase on the vehicle. We have a similar system in our Acura that works flawlessly on the same roads in any weather condition. I bought this vehicle certified by Volvo with roughly 15K miles for my son to drive when he had just gotten his license as Volvo has an incredible reputation for safely. I do not feel safe with him driving this vehicle as was intended. Latest diagnosis attached, Remainder available from Gengras Volvo, East Hartford CT.Read more
