I currently have no open recalls on my vehicle however I feel as though my vehicle is apart of the the national recall involving the steer column. My vehicle jerks at high speeds randomly and I sometimes lose control. This issue has been seen by multiple mechanics and they’ve done numerous inspections but can’t find the problem. They only tell me they think it may fix the issue but none are ce

I’ve bought several tires of this issue because the wear on my tires keeps wearing out and causing my tires to blow out. I believe it involves the national recall.Read more

When I was driving down the road my car got a message on the dash that said power steering malfunction see owners manual. My steering wheel got locked up and tight it was hard to keep control of my car at 60 miles per hour. It will cost like 5k to fix the problem due to the fact that its a sensor, and when I looked up the recall it was the same sensor that the recall was on with my Vin only being 2 numbers off I find it odd that my car is not affected by this bc its the same problem of the recall the part of that controls the power steering in the carRead more

The frame of my 2006 Toyota Tacoma (VIN: [XXX] ) is severely corroded and compromised. I recently acquired the vehicle and discovered that it was part of a past Toyota recall/program for frame corrosion inspection and replacement. However, it appears the previous owner did not take the vehicle in for the service. The frame now shows advanced rust and structural weakness, which puts my safety and t

The first indication of a problem was a red "SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM NOW" message at 121 total vehicle miles and continued to be intermittent. The vehicle was returned to the selling Ford dealership the next day. After a day in the service department, they were unable to duplicate the problem. This same message reappeared sporadically, but did not seem to affect the safe operation of the vehicle
... . At approximately 1460 miles the red "SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM NOW" and many other messages appeared while I was on an interstate traveling at 70mph. As I started maneuvering for the nearest exit, the steering would not respond without using EXCESSIVE force, creating a dangerous, unsafe situation. I managed to safely exit the highway and park the vehicle. It would not reset or operate normally. The vehicle was subsequently towed to a Ford dealer. After 3 weeks of troubleshooting, they replaced the main AGM 12V battery (Part Number BAGM 94RH7 800) and the DCDC Converter (Part Number ML3Z 14G649 F). Around [XXX], I began experiencing issues with the electric power steering system in my 2014 Ford Fusion. The steering became noticeably stiff and difficult to turn, especially at low speeds. A warning message appeared on the dashboard — something like “Service Trac” or a similar alert. Despite the warning and steering difficulty, I was able to continue driving the vehicle for about a week,
... but it became increasingly unsafe and physically demanding to steer. The vehicle has approximately 138,000 miles and was purchased from a dealership in Michigan just a few months ago. The issue has not been inspected by a Ford dealer, but an independent service center diagnosed the problem as a failure of the electric power steering system. I was quoted $2,400 for a new part or around $1,000 for a used one, not including labor. I checked my VIN using Ford’s official site and confirmed there are no open recalls or Customer Satisfaction Programs for the steering system on this vehicle. However, this issue appears to match the symptoms described in Ford recall 19V632000, which applies to some 2014 Fusions with the same steering design. My vehicle appears to be excluded from that recall. Given the widespread nature of this defect and the serious safety risk it poses, I believe the recall should be expanded to include more affected VINs. This failure could easily result in loss of control at higher speeds and represents a hazard to both occupants and others on the road. On May 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM EDT, while driving a 2023 Tesla Model S on a busy highway in a high-density retail area, a vehicle suddenly pulled out from a driveway into the vehicle’s path, requiring an immediate honk to alert the driver. Due to muscle memory, the center airbag cover of the standard steering wheel was pressed, expecting the horn to sound, as is typical in most vehicle
... s. However, the Model S uses a small capacitive horn button on the right side of the steering wheel, which could not be located quickly. The failure to honk in this critical moment necessitated a swerve to the left to avoid a collision, nearly causing an accident with another vehicle in the adjacent lane, which was fortunately a few feet behind. The capacitive horn button’s design is counterintuitive and hazardous, requiring precise pressing that often distracts from driving. This incident nearly resulted in a serious collision due to the delayed response caused by the horn’s placement. Previous experiences include accidentally activating windshield wipers when attempting to honk, increasing distraction. A prior complaint was filed with NHTSA about this issue, noting Tesla’s 2022 statement that vehicles built after November 2021 would receive a software update to enable a center horn. This vehicle, built in December 2022, lacks the necessary hardware, and Tesla has offered only a costly retrofit as a solution. This design flaw poses a significant safety risk by violating intuitive driving habits. NHTSA is urged to investigate the Tesla Model S steering wheel’s horn design and mandate a recall or free retrofit to install a mechanical center horn, aligning with standard vehicle safety expectations.Read more

I am writing to formally express my frustration and concern regarding an ongoing issue with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. For several years, I have experienced severe shaking in my vehicle when driving at speeds between 50-70 mph after hitting a minor bump. The vibrations are so severe that it feels like the vehicle is going to shred itself in half. The issue has gotten worse over the years. On
... ce this occurs, it requires rapid deceleration to 40 mph for the issue to subside. Most concerning is that on [XXX], this shaking occurred twice while driving in heavy traffic on [XXX] with my [XXX] son in the back seat. The severity of the issue poses an undeniable safety risk—not just to me and my passengers, but to others on the road as well. Given Jeep’s reputation for durability and off-road capability, it is deeply disappointing that such a serious issue is not being addressed with more urgency. After the event on [XXX], I initially addressed this issue with a Jeep service center at Dellen Chrysler Jeep and Dodge in Greenfield, IN. I was informed that the problem was related to the steering damper. However, despite recognizing the issue, my vehicle has yet to receive the necessary replacement due to a nationwide shortage of the part more than 2 months later. I implore someone from Dellen, Jeep, and/or NHTSB to do the right thing and properly warn owners about this serious safety issue. As a consumer and Jeep fan, it is unacceptable to me that: 1) A vehicle fails this catastrophically during normal driving, putting the public at risk. 2)Jeep doesn’t have sufficient inventory to fix the problems. 3)Jeep isn’t doing anything to make owners aware of this seriousness of the issue. After routine service at South Coast Toyota in Costa Mesa, CA, I unknowingly drove my 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for over a week with two missing lug nuts and one extremely loose lug nut on the front passenger wheel. The service performed on April 5, 2025, included an oil change, tire rotation, and full inspection. No issues were reported to me at pickup. Over the next several days, I heard increasin
... g thumping and metallic noises from the front right wheel area, especially at highway speeds. On [XXX], while driving with children in the car, the vehicle made loud metal screeching noises and the steering became impaired—I could not complete a basic turn. I limped the car home at 4 mph. Upon inspection, I found two lug nuts missing and one so loose I could unscrew it by hand. I had the car towed back to South Coast Toyota on April 18. The dealership admitted two lug nuts were missing but failed to apologize or fully document the issue. I was told via text that the only action needed was replacing the missing lug nuts. I received no formal inspection report or confirmation that the vehicle was safe. I paid out of pocket for a third-party inspection at a separate Toyota dealership, which confirmed that the previously recommended sway bar replacement was unnecessary and that my tires and components were in better condition than initially claimed. This was a clear service-related safety failure that could have led to wheel detachment and a serious accident. I drove over 200 miles on freeways with children in the vehicle. The dealership failed to follow basic safety protocols and has not taken responsibility. I am reporting this to NHTSA in the interest of safety and accountability.
