Steering is popping and sticking when making a hard turn. It has gradually become worse. We're not comfortable taking it on long trips. A claim was filed with Honda this week. It has been 5 days and we only get voice mail when we call. Its very scary to think our steering could go out and the car only has 90,000 miles. It's going to cost $5,000 to fix. I am having brake indicator light popup 4 time in three week with some strange noise while driving high speed on freeway. I researched found some recall on my 2022 Honda Ridgeline. Based on the provided VIN, [XXX], it appears show my 2022 Honda Ridgeline may be affected by two safety recalls: 1. Rearview Camera Issue: The rearview camera tailgate wire harness might break, preventing the camer

Owner notifications were sent on November 8, 2024, for Honda Recall Number YI7. 2. Brake Master Cylinder Issue: An improperly assembled tie rod fastener could cause the brake master cylinder to separate from the booster assembly, leading to a loss of brake function and increased crash risk. This affects certain 2020-2023 Ridgeline, I called Honda customer service reported the problems case#[XXX]. However, No action from Honda at the time. There is a Service Bulletin on the steering handle bars. The dealership I take it to is Go Az Flagstaff, AZ (928)526-7959. While turning the steering wheel to make small adjustments in direction, the steering wheel has some resistance to a point and then loses resistance causing some over steer. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone.

A repeated clicking or popping noise is coming from the electric steering rack when turning the steering wheel left or right, especially at low speeds or when stationary. The issue started with a faint sound and has progressively worsened. It now occurs in both directions and is clearly audible during tight maneuvers or while parking. This may indicate internal looseness or failure in the steeri
... ng gear assembly, which raises safety concerns as it could affect steering precision or lead to unexpected resistance. Several other owners of the same vehicle model have reported the exact same issue, which suggests this may be a design or manufacturing defect. There were no warning lights or dashboard messages before or during the issue. The condition occurs consistently and may continue to worsen.Read more

The front suspension knuckle on my 2016 Range Rover developed a visible crack, which caused severe play in the steering and made the vehicle unsafe to drive. On even small bumps, the vehicle would suddenly and forcefully pull into other lanes, creating a serious hazard. My safety, my [XXX] child’s safety, and the safety of others on the road were clearly at risk. I brought the vehicle to an au
... thorized Land Rover dealership on January 30, 2025, where the issue was diagnosed and confirmed. I was advised not to drive the vehicle due to the danger, and it has remained parked at the dealership since that day. This issue is part of an open safety recall, but there has been no repair, no replacement part, and no loaner or rental vehicle provided to date. The vehicle has been out of service for nearly five months. There were no dashboard warning lights related to the steering, but I did receive a suspension system error message before the diagnosis. Steering instability continued to worsen leading up to the appointment. The dealership inspected and documented the cracked knuckle, and the defective part remains in the vehicle, available for inspection if needed. I am submitting this complaint due to the extended delay in addressing a known safety defect, the lack of support from the manufacturer, and the serious danger this failure presents to drivers and others on the road. When driving vehicle over the past month, vehicle turn signals on the steering wheel fail to respond to commands and feel almost as if the controls are locked out by a steering wheel software fault. Upon further inspection, checking service mode, found the SCCM service alert to correlate with the exact moment of turn signal unpressability directly. No debris or liquid has ever entered the area, an
... d this issue has gotten so bad that it happens 3-4 times over a 45min drive I cannot activate the turn signals at all when the failure occurs. There is no alternative way to activate them. The steering wheel is the only way to activate the turn signals and the fault does not permit me to use either turn signal when attempting to change lanes on the highway. Tesla reports that it's a normal software bug and to "deal with it" because there's nothing they can do to fix it. This is directly indicative of a known defective part, and this is a safety-critical defect where a recall must be issued to resolve. Numerous units are impacted through research of same failures. I cant use my turn signals when attempting to change lanes, and Tesla does not want to fix/refuses to address this issue. Even through a phone call from Paul from the service center in Orchard Lake, MI, reported that the condition is a "known defect with INTERAL DOCUMENTS" that confirm it, but he cannot share the doc with me, and "that the idea the issue of getting pulled over for not being able to use your turn signal is an imaginative concern." This, is inaccurate, as the inability to actuate turn signals is a safety-critical failure. the service center replaced my steering when and SCCM module, however the issue persisted after the visit, and the service manager of the West Bloomfield, MI service center called me 12 hours before my appointment to deter me from dropping the vehicle off, and then told me this would be a customer pay diagnostic for a warrantable safety failure.Read more

The steering wheel "sticks" when steering, particularly when veering or turning right. My local Honda service department identified the issue as a defective steering gearbox, with a repair cost of $5,115.44. I pointed out that since the issue is a manufacturing defect and other CRVs have been recalled for the same reason, Honda should pay for the entire repair cost. Again they refused and gave me 30 days to think about their offer. I wrote a letter addressed to Mr. Ozawa, director of traffic safety, urging him to take responsibility for the known defect. Honda refused to increase their good will offer. I requested the offer in writing but was refused. I accepted the offer and scheduled the repairs. In the end Honda didn’t honor its good will offer and only paid $2,210 towards repairs. My only solace is knowing that all my calls were recorded (unless they lied about this too) and there's a record of the offer.Read more

Our car is now having two issues: 1. The first issue is extremely scary, but we found a temporary work around so have been dealing with it for months as we needed are car. If the auto stop/start is not turned off (which has to happen ever time the car is started), the car essentially puts on an emergency break and shuts down the car at the first for second stop. This happened in the middle of a bu

It is extremely dangerous as you can be stuck at a stop light in the middle of the road and the car has to be turned off and turned back on. We drive on [XXX] in michigan daily for work and it is a 55mph road with dozens of stop lights making this a huge safety hazard. I have seen numerous other people on a Jeep Wagoneer facebook page with the same issue. 2. The second issue is more recent, but has made the car un-drivable. While driving suddenly the "service fuel system" alert comes on with the check engine light flashing and the car feels like it is going to stall out, then it will regulate and the alert will go away, then it will come back a minute later. We immediately drove our car to the dealership as it was not drivable that way and they have had it for 3 weeks unable to find a fix. I was driving hit a puddle of water, then all the sudden my power steering went out. I took it in to get looked at, and I'm being told it will cost several thousand dollars to fix the power steering. In addition, this vehicle has air in the suspension, but it now makes sounds when it lifts and takes a longer period of time to lift than normal. Something is effected in my suspension, as well. M
... y vehicle only has 67,689 miles on it, and it should not be having power steering problems from driving through a puddle of water. Lastly, after calling in to Audi, they did a search for the warranty, and Audi did add an extended warranty on the power steering of 125,000 miles or 10 years, which ever occurs first. This means they know about the power steering issue, and with my car being just over 10 years old, the power steering is not covered. I also know a friend who has a 2015 S6 Audi with just under 125,000 miles on it. It happened to him, as well. I will let him know he needs to report the issue, because there is a clear power steering or electrical problem. I have no power steering as of now, and to me, this is a safety issue. I believe something electrical got shorted out which is causing the power steering to be manual steering and problems with suspension when lifting. I'm mainly concerned with the power steering going out with under 70k miles and it takes a lot of effort to drive this. I shouldn't be driving the car right now, but I have not choice at the moment.Read more
