On [XXX], after servicing my vehicle in June of 2025 for an oil change at a local Wilson Nissan dealership in Logan, Utah (84321)- I recieved an email from the dealership alerting me "Important Notice for your Nissan" and stating in the body of the message "According to our records, your Nissan has 1 recall(s)". During that oil change and the vehicle inspection, a Nissan tech pulled me back and
... showed me a visible hole behind the wheel area of my car. He pointed out that it was something "I should get looked at," and I asked him why. He said it could cause potential risk such as the wheel falling off, and that it was not safe. I was very appreciative of his pointing this out, as no one ever had before, and I did not know there was a hole there since I never looked behind my wheel nor had I ever seen my car on a lift before. Between the June 2025 oil change at the Nissan Dealership and the July 8, 2025, email from the dealership about the recall, I asked a separate mechanic friend to look at it at my home, and they also agreed that this was "very dangerous" and advised me to quit driving the car. I then looked into what recalls existed on my vehicle, per the email notice, and was shocked to see that the exact issue my 1998 pathfinder had was what was described in the bulletin, down to the very detail. After discovering that, I promptly called Nissan Consumer Affairs but no one answered. I then went to the dealership on July 11th, 2025, and met with the manager. He gave me his card, and I told him I would email him. I then emailed him that day and cc'd Nissan Owner Services re: NHSTA Campaign Number 11V244000 and a request for them to buy back the car as it was in non-sellable and non-repairable condition per their recall bulletin. It has been towed to the dealership by them and has remained there since July 17th with no resolution from them, Morley, or NNA. I was told "more photos were needed" after an initial denial and push back from. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIRead more

The steering input on this vehicle could be described as "sticky" or "notchy". It requires higher levels of force for a moment (as if it is getting stuck or bound up on something). The steering will often times not self-center when going around a curve. Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Power Steering Failure in 2019 Tesla Model 3 Hello NHTSA, I am writing to file a complaint regarding a very dangerous situation I recently experienced with my 2019 Tesla Model 3. While driving on the freeway at approximately 65 mph, the power steering failed unexpectedly. I struggled significantly to change lanes in order to exit the freeway, and it felt as th
... ough my vehicle was going to collide with other cars. After managing to get off the freeway, I nearly hit the guardrail while attempting to turn onto a side street, creating a hazardous situation. I am deeply concerned about the potential consequences; for instance, what if I had struck a pedestrian, or if the car had collided with another vehicle at high speed? I live on a winding mountain road, where I could have easily driven off a cliff. Turning the car off and back on temporarily resolved the issue. However, there are numerous complaints regarding steering rack failures with Tesla vehicles. Tesla has quoted me $2,700.00 to fix what appears to be a known manufacturing defect. They are aware of this potentially hazardous situation but are not taking responsibility for the repairs. This is a serious safety issue, and I urge Tesla to accept responsibility and cover the repair costs before someone is seriously injured or killed—if such an incident has not already occurred. Please let me know what further actions I can take to facilitate Tesla's resolution of this dangerous problem. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely,Read more

Summary of Problem: Steering issue with 2018 Honda CR-V – unsafe wandering and direction changes at highway speeds. Detailed Description: Approximately four months ago, the steering on my 2018 Honda CR-V began to feel unstable. Over time, the condition has progressively worsened. At highway speeds, the steering will unpredictably shift direction and “wander” within the lane without driver i
... nput. This requires constant correction to maintain lane position and creates a serious safety hazard. The condition feels especially unsafe at speeds over 55 mph because it compromises the driver’s ability to keep the vehicle centered in the lane. Due to the severity of the issue, we have stopped driving the vehicle for the past month. A Honda dealership confirmed a problem with the steering gearbox and quoted $4,800 for repair. Honda has acknowledged the defect but will only offer 10% coverage. This is unacceptable given that other 2018 CR-V vehicles have been recalled for steering box defects, and the symptoms in my vehicle match those recall descriptions. My VIN, however, is not currently included in the recall. This defect matches NHTSA Campaign 18V663000, which describes a torque sensor magnet in the steering gearbox that may become dislodged, causing unexpected steering behavior and increasing crash risk. Only four 2018 CR-V vehicles were officially recalled, but numerous other owners have reported identical symptoms. Public complaints from owners on forums such as r/crv and sites like [XXX] and [XXX] describe wandering steering and sticky steering at highway speeds, often resolved only after steering gearbox replacement. These issues mirror my experience exactly. The problem is systemic and not limited to the small number of VINs in the official recall. The defect significantly affects vehicle control and poses a risk of loss of steering at highway speeds. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate and consider INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Since 20,000 miles I have had problems with my steering column. I first took it in back in August of 2023 due to a clunking noise coming from my steering wheel. When I first took it in my suspension was tightened but this did not resolve the issue. When I took it back in a week later I was told I needed to replace my rack and pinion. The rack and pinion was replaced but my car still had the faint
... clunking sound. The clunking came back a year later. At 30,000 miles I was told both of my front axles had failed and both were replaced. The clunking sound still remained but faint. Seven months later the clunking returned once again and much more aggressively (I was out of warranty at this point). I was told one of my axles failed once again prematurely and was replaced after sitting for nearly a month. When I got my car back after nearly 4 weeks i noticed the exact same aggressive clunking noise in my steering column. I returned my car back a week later for a new diagnosis after speaking with the service manager. The report came back stating that both of my lower control arms went bad and needed to be replaced. Also discovered was a bad intermediate shaft causing the clunking noise. The dealership decided to goodwill the service to fix my lower control arms since it was a dangerous situation to drive in and I had been driving my car like this for 20,000 miles since I originally took the car in. The dealership says they can not do anything about the intermediate shaft which could cause me to lose all steering abilities and cause a serious car accident. I no longer feel safe in this car and 100% believe this car is a lemon.Read more
