Power steering went out and I'm told it's a sensor that is in the steering column. Very expensive to have fixed due to location of the sensor. I seen a recall for this problem however it is only good for 150,000 miles or 10 years. I just purchased this car 2 years ago with 172,000 miles. This recall should still be valid if it hasn't been repaired. I almost wrecked the car not realizing this happe

At roughly 20,000 miles, I began to notice a slight rattle/clucking sound from the front end of the vehicle on gravel surfaces. The issue gradually became more noticeable and upon owner inspection, inner tie rods had noticeable play. Independent shop (Frantz Automotive, Cary, NC) confirmed the play, and upon removing the tie rods and boots, discovered play within the steering rack itself (have vid
... eo that could not be uploaded), and notified me that there was a recall for this issue on some 2023 Ridgelines (as noted on receipt). I then took the truck to the dealership where purchased (Autopark Honda, Cary, NC), which confirmed the issue (as noted on receipt) and offered to replace at a "goodwill" rate of $500, which they termed a "deductible." Given the safety concern and I needed the truck for transportation, I paid for the repair and will request a refund from Honda America.Read more

The control arms on all make and models of tesla have a horrible design that all water off of the car flows down the sides of the front hood and down onto the control arm bushing. This part design needs to be recalled and all persons have free repairs. According to sources, driving with severely worn control arm bushings can lead to a fatal accident. While bushings often start as a minor nuisance, complete failure compromises the structural integrity of your vehicle's suspension. Don't wait till deaths start happening. I just bought a new Ram Rebel X 2025 in September. I have 7K miles and the front tires are shot due to factory misalignment! Local dealership South Hills Dodge is ZERO HELP. I opened a case with RAM. They said…“You have to drop off your truck at the dealership before we can escalate your case to a case manager”. My truck has been sitting outside the dealership since I dropped it off on Monda
... y 4-27 and hasn’t moved!! The dealership initially said they would cover an alignment under warranty free of charge but not cover 2 new tires which were caused by the misalignment. They then told me I would have to open a case with RAM in order to get the tires paid for. In the meantime, I asked the service manager if he could get me the current alignment readings. He then lied to me and told me they weren’t able to take the current alignment measurements due to the fact that the front tires were so badly worn. I then took it to my local mechanic to get the current alignment readings without fixing anything so I could have this sheet for my records. It not only shows the toe being out of spec on both front tires but shows the Caster being out of spec. Therefore it was set that way when I purchased the vehicle brand new back in September. I talked to my case manager who was never able to get ahold of the dealership!! I was also never able to get a response to multiple questions through their text service. Finally they reach out after my vehicle sat for 4 days and say I have to pay 19.95 for a tire rotation in order to do the alignment. I then chose to take my vehicle to Jim Shorkey and they fix some recalls and RRTs but “needed to talk w case mgr about tire coverage” So then I have it out with this case manager about the amount of time and money I’ve wasted so far and in a nutshell he tells me that the first dealer said tires were not covered under warranty so they can’t cover them! Basically I was sent in a circle of wasted time by RAM corporation “customer service”!!!Read more

Within the last 7 days, my 2018 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD began displaying active alerts for two separate safety system failures: (1) alert code UI_a020 / GTW_w075 — Steering Assist Reduced, stating steering may require increased effort, and (2) alert code RCM_a056 — Front Passenger Safety Restraint System Issue, requiring service. The steering alert appeared intermittently, firing at consi
... stent times of day suggesting a possible electrical or sensor fault rather than mechanical failure. On one occasion during startup, the steering system briefly locked up before resuming normal function. No noticeable change in ongoing steering feel has been observed while driving. The passenger restraint system alert indicates the front passenger airbag and Occupant Classification System (OCS) may not function properly in the event of a collision, directly endangering any front passenger. Both issues have been confirmed by the manufacturer via remote diagnostic review, and two separate service estimates totaling approximately $4,784 have been issued recommending replacement of the steering rack, front passenger airbag, occupant classification sensor, seat harness assembly, and seat cushion assembly. Notably, the manufacturer has not physically inspected the vehicle — both estimates were generated solely based on alert codes read remotely and "AI" according to a representative. The manufacturer's own customer support system indicated these repairs may qualify for goodwill coverage, yet no formal commitment has been made. The passenger airbag and restraint system failure is of particular concern as it represents a potential inability of a primary safety system to deploy correctly in a crash event. The component is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Warning alerts remain active and ongoing.Read more

Hello - the steering wheel has become very difficult to turn including inability to turn to the right or left at times, and seems to increase over time but has decreased while remaining stiff/difficult at times.I thought it was related to low/missing power steering fluid or the weather because the steering improved on a warm/warmer day. When I tested the weather theory it was another warm/hot day
... and later in the day meaning the car didn't require as much or any warm up as it usually does on cold days/earlier in the day. The steering was so difficult I couldn't turn the wheel to the right at all and it was extremely hard to turn to the left but less than difficulty trying to turn to the right. I checked under the hood and didn't see anything for power steering, and later learned the 2014 Ford Taurus does not require power steering fluid. This is a safety concern because it means drivers can't steer at all or only with extreme difficulty increasing the potential for vehicle accidents. I don't know/can't say if this is negatively impacting other parts of the vehicle.Read more

I have experienced a persistent steering and suspension-related issue with my 2019 Toyota 4Runner since early ownership, beginning at approximately 6,800 miles. The vehicle repeatedly pulls/drifts to the right at highway speeds and requires constant steering correction. I have also experienced steering wheel vibration and instability, particularly at speeds above approximately 50–60 MPH. Over s
... everal years, the vehicle has undergone multiple alignments, tire rotations, balancing procedures, and dealership inspections; however, the condition has never been resolved. Toyota dealership records document abnormal tire wear including feathering and cupping. Recent service documentation states the alignment could only be adjusted “to best ability.” A prior independent inspection identified possible lower control arm bushing concerns. Despite this, the vehicle was reportedly operating “within factory specifications.” The condition has persisted through multiple sets of tires and repeated service visits. The ongoing steering pull, vibration, and instability create a safety concern during highway driving because the vehicle does not consistently track straight and requires repeated steering correction. The issue has been reproducible over multiple years and has not been permanently corrected despite repeated repair attempts and inspections. No warning lights were present at the time of the condition.Read more

The contact owns a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the power steering became inoperable and the steering wheel would unexpectedly pull to the side with the service engine warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the seat belts failed to detach properly. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 03V527000 (Steeri
... ng). The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering rack assembly had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the dealer informed the contact that they would not service the vehicle due to the vehicle being more than 10 years old. The contact was also advised that payment for the steering rack replacement would be required in order to complete the recall repair. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for further assistance. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.Read more

The emergency steering will engage at random times. The car makes a loud noise, a light on the dashboard illuminates, and the car will try to drive into another lane. This happens at least once a week, and it has never happened when there was another car around, so I wasn't about to get into a collision. It has happened when there is construction and the lane markers are unclear, when the road is
... a little wet and other times I can't explain. I have always been able to shove it back into the lane I want to be in, but this also seems incredibly unsafe. It could drive me into any sort of situation involving other cars or off the edge of a road. I've Googled and I am not alone in experiencing this problems. I reported this twice to Hyundai customer service.Read more

The electronic steering lock (ESL) system on my 2014 Mercedes-Benz C250 failed without warning, leaving the vehicle completely unable to start. When attempting to start the vehicle, the key would insert but the vehicle would not crank or start, and the steering lock malfunction prevented normal operation of the vehicle. The vehicle became stranded and inoperable. This failure created a safety ris
... k because the vehicle could not be moved and left me stranded unexpectedly. If this failure were to occur in an unsafe area or emergency situation, it could place the driver and passengers at risk. After researching the issue, I found numerous reports online from other owners of similar Mercedes-Benz C-Class models experiencing the same ESL/EIS failure. This appears to be a common issue affecting these vehicles. At this time, the problem has not yet been repaired. UNKNOWN if the manufacturer has inspected the vehicle. No warning lights or prior symptoms appeared before the failure. The malfunction happened suddenly and without warning.Read more

I am reporting a dealer's refusal to perform a safety recall repair (Campaign R1710) on my 2014 Nissan Murano. The local dealership in Montgomery, AL has repeatedly failed to schedule this repair, which involves a high-pressure power steering hose fire risk. Due to a chronic medical neck condition, I have requested email communication, but the dealer has not complied. I am requesting NHTSA's inter

On April 29, 2026, my 2024 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S Premium Plus experienced a steering malfunction while I was entering a right turn. The vehicle had Mazda steering recall 6524A / NHTSA Campaign 24V-022 marked closed/completed before this crash. I was traveling on a familiar road and attempted a normal right turn that I make regularly. As I attempted to turn, with no warning lamps, warning messages,
... or prior warning immediately before the incident, the steering wheel suddenly required abnormal effort, felt stuck, and would not turn normally. I was in complete shock from the sudden steering issue and abnormal resistance. The vehicle then struck the curb, left the roadway, and traveled down an embankment/grade of approximately 15 feet into a residential yard. The crash involved significant driver-side/front-left damage. The front driver-side wheel/tire separated and was found near the vehicle. The driver-side airbags deployed. Scene evidence included curb/edge impact damage, debris, and a deep ground-level rut/indentation below the roadway. This incident placed me and others at serious risk because the vehicle left the roadway and entered a residential property. The vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. To my knowledge, the only prior inspection or repair related to the steering system was performed by the Mazda dealership in December 2025, when recall 6524A was marked closed/completed along with other recalls. The vehicle has not yet been independently inspected for this crash-related steering concern. Before the crash, the vehicle had multiple issues and spent significant time at the dealership for recall and non-recall repairs. One ongoing issue was a brief grinding/rubbing noise when accelerating from low speeds, which existed before the dealer work and continued afterward. Mazda/dealer indicated this low-speed grinding/rubbing noise was a known reported issue with no fix at that time.Read more
