On August 1, 2025, at 44,391 miles on the Vehicle odometer, Plaintiff experienced a catastrophic failure of the complete power-steering and rack and pinion system, while traveling on Vermont Interstate 89 in Middlesex, Vermont. The steering wheel instantly became largely immoveable, the car shuddered and vibrated. By sheer luck, Plaintiff’s Vehicle did not collide with another vehicle or object.
... The Plaintiff could have been seriously injured or killed, had a collision resulted from the loss of steering ability. Plaintiff navigated to a nearby park and ride pull-off; the vehicle was completely incapacitated. An inspection of the Vehicle by Infiniti of Nashua Service Department revealed that the complete power steering rack and pinion system had failed. Service records research by Infiniti of Nashua Service Department revealed that at 31,000 miles on the Vehicle odometer, the power steering and rack and pinion system had a previous complete failure and was replaced under Warranty. The Service Department advised that failure of a system at 31,000 miles, let alone again at 44,391 miles, indicated a factory defect or an improper installation/repair of the system on the part of Infiniti. INFINITI OF WARWICK RHODE ISLAND DID NOT DISCLOSE THE COMPLETE SYSTEM FAILURE at the time of the 31,000-mile replacement, and falsely reported to CarFax “steering/suspension checked,” instead. Incident date: Sep 14, 2025
The vehicle has suffered repeated systemic electrical failures all while being under 8,000 miles. What component/system failed? Power distribution/fuse block, starter, fuel pump control module, horn circuit, body control module, instrument cluster, and charging system. Error codes documented include P0627 (Fuel Pump Control Circuit), U0100 (Lost Comm ECM/PCM), B1325 (Control Module Power Low), U0
... 140 (Lost Comm BCM), and B1000 (ECM fault). All repairs are documented by the dealer, and the truck remains available for inspection. How was safety at risk? The truck lost propulsion at speed, emitted smoke from the engine bay, and became disabled in traffic, placing my family, including my toddler, in immediate danger of collision and fire. Electrical defects also disabled horn and instrument cluster, removing critical warning and signaling functions. These electrical issues have been ongoing for months and GM refuses to replace and can't seem to fix it. Has it been confirmed? Yes. Each failure was diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized GM dealer. Components replaced include fuse block, starter, fuel system computer, horn assembly, and cluster. Despite repairs, issues recur. Inspected by others? GM corporate case managers are aware and have acknowledged defects, though they have refused to issue written determinations. Insurance has not yet been involved, but records are available. The dealer has attempted to repaid more than 4 times with no success. Warning lamps/messages? Yes. Prior to and during failures, vehicle displayed repeated “Service Electrical System,” “Low Voltage,” and communication fault codes. Cluster intermittently blacked out. Smoke in engine bay indicated immediate fire hazard. Cumulative out-of-service days exceeding 20. The failures pose unacceptable risk of fire, sudden propulsion loss, and loss of critical safety functions. I have ALL calls with GM recorded and transcribed as I am in SC (single party recording state) and can provide those.Read more

Regardless, it is clear that the part in my car is defective and should be replaced by the dealer at no cost to me. The age and mileage of the vehicle do not justify such a serious problem. Either the part was made with poor quality or it is defective. How can a steering rack fail at only 29,248 miles—what is it made of, plastic? This raises serious concerns about Honda Corporate and whether this is part of a broader scheme that should be investigated. My [XXX] mother in law was told by Subaru White Plains NY her both her front control arms and both front sway bar links had to be replaced due to rust as they were not safe and would not pass the NY vehicle inspection. I hit a deer going roughly 65mph on my way to work. The hit crushed the radiator into the engine, destroyed the airbox, folded the hood, and practically vaporized the headlight. The airbag, however, did not deploy- not in the wheel or in the side curtain. I wasn't injured but thought it was strange the because the crash totalled the car (~$16k of damage) and was at a high speed. The car had one a

I kept every maintainence record for the car and never had any airbag lights on or service done. I have attempted to contact Nissan three separate times for this issue over a extended period of time. Nissan continually tells me that if my vehicle is not repairable , then they would simply keep it , and not allow me to leave with my vehicle , and that there would be no compensation or replacement . Before I was aware of a recall there was a attempt to repair the vehicle (not Nissan) as the st
... ruts tower and housing was basically non existent . This repair has seemed to leave my vehicle sitting at a angle which is prolly not safe but deffinaly much safer as it wasn't drivable before Just today Nissan has called me and stated that because I paid out of pocket to repair something before I was made aware of there recall that my only option is to take it to them and if it's non repairable ( which it is unlikely they will be willing to replace the whole front end due to the rust and previous repair) they will keep the vehicle , pay me nothing , not replace it , and I suppose I'd be stranded at Nissan . They seem to be ignoring the federal laws set in place for this recall . I have only asked them to replace my vehicle under the recall as it is stated, is a option if non repairable however they say they will not and basically the short version is they will steal my vehicle and if I need a vehicle I can buy a new one . I have researched for hours and everything as far as I understand states if my vehicle is not repairable dispite if there were previous attempts to fix the issue , they would either need to repair , replace or pay for the vehicle . Considering the depreciation value doesn't go past 100k making it a 0 value , then really the only option for the vehicle is to replace the whole front end and repair the defect OR replace the vehicle with a similar vehicle or same model usually newer years . They are refusing to honor this and so I am asking that you help in this situation so I can drive safely and properly complete the recall phase .Read more

EVERY TIME I TRIED TO PUT GAS IN THE CAR IT WILL NOT START AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS
Incident date: Sep 15, 2020
-The steering wheel and brake locked up and became unusable while driving at approximately 75mph. Cruise control was enabled for a few miles (maybe 2) and disabled after. Around 5 minutes after disabling, the car began to surge between acceleration and deceleration drastically on its own. All of the dashboard lights that come on when the key is initially inserted came on at once while engine was o
... n/running and the car was in drive. After finally being able to reach a safe enough spot, I put the car in park and turned the engine off. I sat for a few minutes to try and turn the engine/car back on and the car would not crank, but the overhead lights, radio, and dash lights were functioning. -This was an extremely dangerous experience. The car began to decelerate rapidly in heavy freeway traffic. At that speed, with many semi-trucks traveling nearby, this sudden loss of speed created an extremely dangerous situation. My vehicle instantly became a slow moving obstacle in the lane. Only by luck and quick reaction was a serious or fatal collision avoided. The car would not start back up so I was sitting at the edge of the highway as many cars flew by just inches away from my car. -I am away at college in a rural city. Accessibility is limited as well as support because of lack of resources. -The car was towed to a mechanic who does not specialize in German cars and stated they did not have the proper tools to "get into the car" because the motor is "locked up" and the car wouldn't crank. -The vehicle will be towed to the nearest dealership (50mi away) who stated they won't be able to look at it for a few weeks from date of arrival. Research indicates this may be linked to a known issue with Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) / Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) failure in Mercedes vehicles, which can electronically disable the engine and steering. This could've easily been fatal for me and still poses an alarming threat if not addressed.Read more
