My abs, brake and traction light came on. I ran a code reader which indicated my abs module has failed. I called my local dodge garage and they said this is a known common issue with my year make and model, and while there is a recall for dodge trucks for this, there isn't for the journey. The part is also on backorder. I have looked on many forums and many dodge journey owners also have this issu

I am urging for this abs module to be on recall so it can get fixed, as even the dodge garage i called today confirmed the part isn't readily available due to how many dodge journeys have this issue.Read more

New, strange noise started in Dec'25 (41K miles; 2yrs 9 months). No warning lights. Diagnosed as failed brake accumulator (first at an independent shop, later at the dealer). Apparently the accumulator is part of the full master cylinder assembly which must be replaced. Toyota has quoted $3,200 to complete this repair and is telling me it must be out of pocket.

My 2023 Chevy Colorado developed a rear brake squeal when backing up at approximately 20,000 miles. The dealer found nothing wrong at my next appointment. By 30,000 miles, the rear pads and rotors required replacement, at partial cost to me. The new rear brakes are already squealing again after just a few thousand miles. This isn't an isolated issue. A Chevy Colorado forum I follow has documented
... multiple owners experiencing the same pattern: rear brake squealing beginning around 20,000 miles, followed by premature pad and rotor failure shortly after. Notably, front brake wear is normal across all reported cases, including my own, pointing directly to a rear-specific defect rather than general driving habits or conditions. The rear brakes on the 2023 Chevy Colorado appear to be failing well ahead of any reasonable service interval, and the consistency of this pattern across multiple owners strongly suggests a systemic problem.Read more

am writing to report a potential safety and fire hazard issue involving my BMW X1, along with ongoing electrical concerns I have experienced with this vehicle since purchase. During the visit, I agreed to replace the cabin/carbon air filter as recommended. Approximately three weeks later, while driving, I turned on the air conditioning and immediately noticed a strong burning smell coming from the vents. Concerned about a possible electrical or overheating issue, I turned the air off immediately. I contacted BMW service and the earliest available appointment was scheduled for May 20, 2026. During the scheduling call, the BMW service representative informed me that my vehicle also had an active recall that would be addressed during my appointment. When I asked for details, I was told it involved a “software update issue.” On May 18, 2026, I attempted to use the air conditioning again. This time, the burning smell became significantly worse and was combined with a musty odor. Shortly afterward, the ventilation system stopped blowing air entirely. When I arrived at BMW service, I explained the symptoms to my advisor. He responded that the issue “sounded familiar” and stepped away to speak with someone else. When he returned, he explained that another customer had recently reported a similar issue involving a recall on a BMW M5, but stated that the BMW X1 did not currently have the same recall. Given the burning odor, ventilation failure, and the similarity to another BMW recall-related complaint, I believe this issue should be investigated further as a potential hazarRead more

I was driving my 2024 Toyota Corolla SE gas model (with the convenience package) on the interstate in [XXX] during stop-and-go traffic. I was behind a semi truck and was moving very slowly, getting ready to stop. I had maybe 3 or 4 car lengths between me an
... d the semi so they could see me in their mirrors. As I was about to stop, the brake pedal suddenly went all the way to the floor, the car jerked to a stop, and the electronic/emergency parking brake applied on its own. I put the car into Park and then back into Drive, and the problem did not happen again during that drive. There were no warning lights, dash lights, or warning messages before this happened, and there were also no warning lights or dash lights afterward. The issue happened suddenly with no prior symptoms that I noticed. I believe the brake system, Brake Hold system, electronic parking brake system, or a related brake/vehicle control system malfunctioned. This put my safety and the safety of others at risk because the car unexpectedly stopped abruptly in interstate traffic. Since I was in heavy stop-and-go traffic and other vehicles, there was a risk of being rear-ended, causing a crash, or becoming disabled in traffic. I took the vehicle to a Toyota dealership after the incident. They were not able to reproduce the problem, but they did find stored code C14FE14. They told me they checked the brake system, cleared the code, tested the steering angle sensor connector, and said everything tested within specification. They also performed a multipoint inspection and said the battery, brake pads, and other inspected items tested well. The brake pedal is designed in such a manner that the shaft/arm gets in the way of the pedal as you start pressing the pedal. As the pedal is pressed away from the driver, the shaft is setup in such a way that the driver's foot then hits the shaft and loses the ability to press the actual pedal. Given the shaft is a small metal bar rather than a flat grippy surface like the pedal, this creates uns
... table footing. It is very difficult to use and is quite unsafe. It is an issue in all cases when pressing the brake (i.e., it is not only for aggressive braking; it is always persistent). I have found in many cases my foot slipping on the shaft and it causing real danger to myself, my family, and other drivers as the inability to brake effectively has obvious implications. This is not a unique case of me having large feet or anything like that; in fact, I have small feet. It is probably a much bigger issue for the average person with larger feet than me. I reported it to the dealership, and they acknowledged that they have heard the complaint, but their response was "get used to it". No other parties have inspected the component. There are no warning lights. This is not a "failure" of a component, but rather a design flaw that is unsafe. I would recommend inspecting the 2026 Lincoln Nautilus to assess the risk of the brake pedal / shaft design and suggest a recall on the brake pedal whereby Lincoln must replace with a design that does not cause this interference.Read more

In August/September 2025 my mother's Tucson would randomly shut down on her (completely stall while driving) and she would not be able to turn it back on. If she waited a little while, then she would be able to turn the car back on but it was unknown when the issue would happen again. We took it to the dealer several times after each shutdown and the dealer stated it was not throwing a code and
... they could not diagnose the problem. The last time we took it to the dealer, the vehicle shut down while they were test driving it and they discovered it was a rear wheel sensor which is part of the ABS system. When the car would stall, lights on the dashboard would start flashing and the car would shudder to a stall. Since repairing that rear wheel sensor, the car has not exhibited the issue until 3 days ago when it again shut down randomly while she was in traffic. This, of course was terribly frightening for her as cars were honking at her and whipping around her vehicle. She was not able to get the car started. A police officer came and parked behind her car, calmed her down, and got her to try the car one more time and it did start up and she was able to proceed to the closest parking lot. After that we followed her home and have an appt. set to go back to the dealership. We are expecting the same run around at the dealer who charges excessive fees to diagnose and then repair the car. My Mom is [XXX] so this is a dangerous vehicle for her to be driving (really for anyone) as I am reading on line others reporting this same condition. I am expecting that they will find that a different rear wheel sensor has failed for which they will want another $800.00 to repair or maybe more now. Obviously we must get rid of this vehicle. While operating my Kia vehicle, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of braking capability and loss of acceleration/power while traveling downhill. Multiple warning lights reportedly illuminated during the event, including the battery light, oil light, and check engine light. The incident created a serious safety concern due to inability to properly control vehicle speed and operation. The vehic
... le was taken to an authorized Kia dealership for inspection. However, the dealership has refused to provide written confirmation that the vehicle is safe to drive and stated they would not assume liability regarding operation of the vehicle. The dealership further recommended towing the vehicle if I feel unsafe operating it. I am requesting investigation into the safety-related condition involving braking/drivability failure and related warning systems.Read more

This is the most recent time that the automatic brake on my car kicked in for no reason. It has happened several times and I have made Acura aware of it, but this is the first time it has almost caused an accident because the car behind me almost rear-ended me. A Similar incident happened last year and I brought it in and they did nothing since they could not replicate it. I let the dealership kn
... ow that there is a recall associated with this and they said that my VIN number does not match any recalls. I made it very clear to them that it is a safety issue and that it needs to be looked into in more depth in the only response they gave me was that sometimes the automatic brakes can be triggered by items that look like bicycles or people. In this case, there was a car in front of me and a car behind me, neither of which look like a bicycle or a person. It happened so quickly and so suddenly that I am not sure if any lights came on. The Acura client relations team so far has not been able to get a hold of a manager at the dealership and this remains unresolved.Read more

I turned the vehicle to park in a diagonal spot, and it would not stop. I had taken my foot off the gas just prior to starting the turn and then tapped the gas in the turn. After I tapped it an physically brough my foot back to the seat and then placed it on the brake, it accelerated. It drove over a curb, through a metal barrier and into a glass door and stopped at the side mirrors while my foot
... was firmly pressing the brake down. The cops on scene said the video looked like I was accelerating, but like I said I was firmly pushing down on the brake. Only the left rear brake light worked and is hard to see because the plastic cover is damaged. Prior to the accident the vehicle did not have the ABS light blinking, but it was blinking when I retrieved my personal items out of the vehicle 2 days later. There was a woman bending over/ in the corner by counter in the store and had the vehicle not stopped when it did, she would have been hit; when she stood up mere inches from the trunk, this put me, the driver into shock.Read more

There is an open safety recall for the replacement of the HCU for my model year truck. I have been in direct contact with a few different dealerships near me to try to get this part replaced since it disables ABS on my truck and I am told they do not have parts for this recall. I received the recall November of 2024. It has now been 18+ months waiting to get the truck repaired. At this point it is

Brake pedal is going all the way to the floor the car barely stops. The ABS and brake lights show up on the dashboard and won't go away; when I used a diagnostic scanner to find the problem, three malfunction codes involving the brake system showed up. This has been going on for five days now, and I am going to take it to the manufacturer for further inspection.

when driving my car from the airport at Bradley International in CT (parked for a week), I experienced a terrible vibration in the steering wheel which has been intermittent. The vibration went away at lower speeds. I brought the car in to the shop on 5/18/2026 with 74,000 miles on the car. They told me I had to replace rotors, brakes, calipers, brake fluid, and do a front end alignment because
... the rotors have failed internally. The EV doe not use braking as frequently and this was taken from the Chevy forum: ISSUE: Frozen or Seized Calipers The Issue: Because Bolt drivers heavily rely on regenerative braking, the physical brake pads and calipers are used far less frequently than in gas-powered cars. This can cause rust and debris to build up, leading to frozen calipers, uneven pad wear, or a sticking/grabbing brakes. The Fix: Have a trusted mechanic or a dealer regularly inspect and service the friction brakes. Regular preventive maintenance like flushing the brake fluid every few years is highly recommended to prevent moisture accumulation and seized calipers. The resultant failure is a safety issue and Chevy has decided to call it a PM problem. This is not acceptable and is all over the forums as an issue for these cars. I saved all parts and had them record everything on the car, except for the fluid. There are other recalls for this component. I would like it investigated and determination made on the issue. The invoices will be in my possession tonight.Read more

My 2022 Kia Carnival, approximately 80,000 miles, had intermittent dashboard warning lights and grinding brake noise for a few weeks. I brought the vehicle to Tasca Kia White Plains first time on 4/14/26 then again on 5/8/26. The dealership initially could not reproduce the issue, then later suspected an ABS sensor issue and ordered the part. On 5/12/26, before the repair was completed, I was dri
... ving downhill with my children in the vehicle when the brakes failed to respond properly. I had to steer off the roadway and go over rocks/boulders to stop the vehicle. At that time, the brakes would not respond normally, and I could not immediately shift the vehicle into Park. Police and towing services were involved. The dealership later replaced an ABS sensor. However, when I reviewed the codes with the service manager, I was told the ABS sensor code did not appear on the date of the brake incident. I was also told that an ABS sensor failure itself would not typically cause hydraulic brake failure. I am concerned that the sensor replacement does not explain the brake failure and that this may involve a brake/ABS/electronic stability control safety issue.Read more
