My vehicle is included in safety recall 24V-896 for a defective HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit). I have contacted the dealership multiple times, but the replacement part is never available. I am reporting that my 2017 Ford Edge's rear driver-side brake line was leaking so badly today that my brakes did not function. My brake pedal went to the floor! Thankfully I was near my home and able to get to my driveway and I could pump my pedal enough to stop my vehicle! It is very concerning that Ford knew of this issue and sent the recall letter back in September but has yet to correct th
... is extreme safety hazard for people. Now I am home, unable to get to my office for work and/or my appointments. The first ability for Ford to service my vehicle is this Friday -- so that's today, Wed, Thurs and Friday w/o being able to drive at all. I have to pay $136 to get my vehicle towed over to the Ford dealership and now I'll be paying who know what for my vehicle to get fixed. This same dealership just recently performed maintenance on my back brakes within the last few months and no one there said anything to me to indicate there was any issue with my brake lines. I have the recall notice at home for this issue, and the first they said to me when I called was that Ford had still NOT provided parts to fix this. I consider this a real emergency and I would just say again that I am thankful to God I was close to home, decided to take my dogs down to the Katy Trail close to my house for a walk and only had to drive a slow rate of speed and short distance to come back home w/ minimal traffic on the road. I normally drive a two lane black top to work for about 30 minutes and I am sure this issue would have caused a terrible accident if I had needed to drive to my office this morning. I CERTAINLY HOPE THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY PLANS TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS REPAIR AND TOWING. While driving down the interstate a notice popped up on my dash about the brake assist. When I attempted to slow down the vehicle to safely pull over the brake pedal was very hard to push. Brakes seize up while driving and then cannot move the vehicle. This causes a dangerous situation while driving and then breaks lock up and cannot move car even though vehicle is on and then stopped for a stop light. So break lights have been repaired. They had to order the stop switch lamp replacement for recall as it was never done and will be fixed in next week. 3 door handles fell off and cannot open the rear driver side door at all. Window electric system won’t let windows go up and down and had to make a latch pull string to open driver door. Passenger door will not open at all and no handle and is a dangerous situation. We've had this car on lease for 23 months, and it has had an escalating pattern of electronic, mechanical and brake issues. On January 4, We parked our car in a parking lot and went into a store, when we returned all of the windows were lowered and the moonroof's window was also retracted. The car was beeping and making loud noises and then had issues starting. Prior to both of these issues, the car has taken to Mercedes repeatedly for locking passengers into the vehicle and blaring alarms, not allowing passengers to leave and the seatbelts will not retract. The airbag system has also malfunctioned during these periods. Mercedes has repeatedly been informed of these issues and has claimed that there were bugs in the car's code that they had fixed; however, each time they have fixed the issue a new issue has arisen. In late November 2025, a representative from Mercedes corporate asked for us to take the vehicle back to dealer for further inspection after which the dealership said they had carried out major updates and returned the car in early December. After that the car had been hardly driven until this week. This was the first major drive of over 60 miles.Read more

On 01/04/2026, while operating a gas-powered 2024 Volvo XC40, the vehicle experienced a catastrophic Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) event while stationary at a red light. With the service brake fully depressed, the internal combustion engine began to surge and rev uncontrollably, making loud noises. The engine torque increased in direct response to increased brake pressure, eventually overco
... ming the braking system and forcing the vehicle forward into the 3-way intersection. Technical Details: Brake-Throttle Override (BTO) Failure: The vehicle’s safety logic failed to prioritize the brake signal over the uncommanded throttle increase. Shifter Interlock Malfunction: During the surge, the electronic gear selector was unresponsive, preventing shifting into Neutral (N) to disconnect power. Shifting capability only returned once the vehicle was brought to a forced stop. Prior Symptoms: Intermittent "idle flaring" and surging were noted 48 hours prior to the failure. Safety Risk: The vehicle moved into traffic against my intent and physical input, posing a high risk of collision. The car was towed by Volvo Road Assistance on 1/4/26 to the Volvo dealership later that evening. This incident mimics the "Powertrain Control System" defects currently documented in NHTSA Campaign 25V392 and the Becker v. Volvo class action, suggesting the software defect extends to ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) models. The car is currently at the Volvo Dealership for diagnostics. The service intake person has not provided an update on whether they have been able to duplicate the issue. I do not know what diagnostics have been performed on the car at this point. There were no warning signs or messages prior to the failure. Some minor surging had been noticed a couple of days before, but this latest incident was catastrophic and a safety risk. After the vehicle sat parked for 12 days, upon initial startup, the vehicle experienced a total failure of the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB). The dashboard displayed multiple critical fault codes including "Brake System Failure," "Service AdvanceTrac," and "Check Brake System." The vehicle software triggered a safety interlock, refusing to shift out of Park, rendering the vehicle completely disab

Ford’s official filing for that recall admits the EBB module is "susceptible to normal but infrequent voltage disturbances" which causes the EBB motor to enter a "faulted state" or shut down. My 2023 Lightning is currently excluded from this recall despite experiencing the exact same "voltage disturbance" failure mode upon waking from a sleep cycle. This is a critical safety defect that resulted in a total loss of power braking assist and vehicle immobilization. I am reporting a recurring safety issue with my 2017 Honda CR-V. The vehicle has experienced repeated incidents where multiple warning lights suddenly illuminate at the same time. This presents a serious safety concern, especially if it occurs while driving. I have learned that many other 2017 Honda CR-V owners report similar fuel injector and warning-light issues.
