Vehicle brake pedal is not fully depressing to normal state after use. This is causing the break lights to remain on until you pull the pedal itself back to resting state. If you do not do this the cruise control will not work. The ESC error light and Service Trailer Brake System error continue to come on.

Vehicle: 2025 Honda Prologue Location: Sacramento, California Date of Incident: [XXX] What failed or malfunctioned The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of directional stability involving the steering system, brake-by-wire system, and electronic stability control (ESC). Steering and braking inputs did not produce proportional vehicle response. What happened While driving under normal conditio
... ns, the vehicle began drifting to the left. I attempted to steer back to the right and applied braking; however, the vehicle did not respond as expected. Electronic stability control did not appear to engage or correct the loss of control. The vehicle then deviated from its intended path, overturned, and struck a fence. The vehicle was declared a total loss. No other vehicles were involved, and no injuries occurred. Safety risk This failure created an immediate and serious safety risk. The loss of steering and braking effectiveness could have resulted in severe injury or fatality. The rollover demonstrates a critical safety concern. Warning signs No warning lights, messages, or symptoms were present prior to the failure. The event occurred suddenly without notice. Inspections The vehicle was inspected by police and insurance representatives. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. The vehicle remains available for inspection through the insurance provider. Dealer confirmation The issue has not yet been reproduced due to the vehicle being totaled. Additional concerns The vehicle’s behavior was inconsistent with normal operation of safety-critical systems designed to maintain vehicle control. I am concerned about system performance, calibration, or possible electronic control failure. Manufacturer contact I reported this issue to Honda Customer Care by phone and requested escalation to engineering review. To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this letter as a formal complaint regarding the unresolved unavailability of a safety-critical ABS module for my vehicle and the improper closure of my case by Stellantis without escalation. Vehicle Information: 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara ABS Control Module Dealer Documentation: On January 15, 2026, I received written confirmation from Texan Do
... dge in Humble, Texas, stating that: • ABS Module #68259556AD is currently on backorder • That dealership alone has 15 pending orders • There are 300+ customers nationwide currently in the supply queue • No ETA or ship date has been provided by the supplier This documentation demonstrates that the issue is systemic, not isolated, and not resolvable simply by prepaying a dealership order. Case Handling Concerns: Despite providing this information and formally requesting escalation, the assigned Stellantis case manager stated that she intended to close the case and refused to forward it to the next supervisory or corporate review level. The case was closed over my objection while the issue remains unresolved. Core Issues: • The ABS module is a federally required safety component • There is a documented, nationwide shortage with no ETARead more

ABS module malfunction. This has been an ongoing problem for Jeep Wranglers of this year, previous and later. Jeep recalled other models for ABS module malfunctions. Jeep dealer wants me to pickup vehicle until part arrives. Driving vehicle under this condition could cause brakes to seize, not work at all, fire and/or a possibility of an accident! Jeep knows and has know this is a problem but never a recall on this model. Researching other Jeep owners and Jeep forums it is documented of this problem and the expense that an owner has to incur to get it resolved! Jeep has made no effort evidently to recognize this problem with the example being that parts are back ordered. Then again there is a real problem and the original part was junk but now the owner is stuck with the bill and all the safety issues because new parts are back ordered.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the brake pedal area of my newly leased Kia K4 GT-Line. My foot becomes caught on this bracket when attempting to apply the brake, which delays or prevents proper brake application. On [XXX], while exiting the roadway and attempting to stop
... at a stop sign, my foot became stuck on this bracket as I applied the brake. This caused a delay in braking and nearly resulted in an accident. I was shocked and frightened, as this situation could have resulted in a life-threatening collision. I took the vehicle to the dealership, Kia Beavercreek in Dayton, Ohio, for inspection. The dealership reviewed the vehicle and stated that they were unable to fix the issue. I was told there was “nothing wrong” with the vehicle and that I simply did not know how to drive it. Despite this, the obstruction remains and continues to interfere with safe braking. Because this defect directly affects my ability to safely apply the brakes, I do not feel safe operating this vehicle. This is a critical safety issue involving brake operation that poses a risk of serious injury or death. The vehicle has extremely low mileage, and the dealership has acknowledged the concern but stated it cannot be corrected. Photos of the brake pedal area are available and clearly show the metal bracket near the brake pedal that causes the obstruction I can not put life and others life in danger driving this car. Vehicle: 2023 Ford Expedition XLT Max Component: Service Brakes / Hydraulic / Brake Pedal Description of the Problem: The vehicle experiences intermittent brake slippage that occurs randomly approximately 2–3 times per month. The issue happens while decelerating between 10–20 mph. When applying the brakes to slow down, the brake pedal suddenly travels further downward, as if the brakes slip o
... r momentarily lose pressure. This significantly reduces braking confidence and control. The condition occurs without warning and is not driver-induced. When it happens, it feels as though the brakes may fail entirely. Safety Risk: This is a serious safety concern. This vehicle is our primary family vehicle and is regularly used to transport two toddlers and an infant. When the brake slippage occurs, it is frightening and creates fear that the brakes could fail while driving, potentially causing a serious accident. I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate under these conditions. Service History / Attempts to Repair: •The vehicle is just over one year old and covered under an extended warranty. •The vehicle has been taken to two separate Ford dealerships for diagnosis. •Both dealerships stated they cannot perform repairs unless the issue happens while a technician is driving the vehicle. •I was told I must “wait until the problem gets worse” before any repair can be made. •One dealership kept the vehicle for over one week, drove it 100+ miles, and had three technicians drive it, yet reported they could not replicate the issue. Given how frequently this occurs during normal driving, it is concerning that no corrective action has been taken despite repeated complaints. Outcome / Concern: I am concerned that I am being forced to continue driving a vehicle with a known braking issue until a failure becomes severe enough to be witnessed, placing my family and others at risk. I am submitting this complaint to formally document the issue before serious accident occursRead more

My wife was pulling her car into a parking area consisting of a few small storefronts. When pulling in, the brakes completely failed as did the forward collision warning system and the automatic emergency braking system. As she continued to press the brake pedal it just went to the floor of the car. The end result was that the car struck one of the storefronts causing damage to the building as wel

The brakes worked fine in the approx. 15 minute drive prior to the accident. I realize that drivers sometimes press the accelerator in error instead of the brakes and I can assure you that this was not the case (we wife is not elderly and is a very safe driver). We spoke to the auto body shop who will be repairing the car and they told us that the brakes currently seem to work. A online search revealed that this problem as been reported / discussed by others in the past. We expect to have the car repaired and returned to us in the next week but are very concerned with driving it as another accident could be fatal.Read more

It’s the ABS Module not for sure what exactly is wrong with it but it does not function like it should. ... an issue when the car came out and the next year it was changed. For example my car is a 02-03 now some 03-04 manufacturer dates the ABS module changed and that’s the only one you can get new still to this year 2026 from the manufacturer and others. This problem occurred in 2024 and was told by the manufacturer or Nissan it’s a discontinued part but they sell the revised part for the 03-04+ model 350z which I think at the time it wasn’t recorded as a safety flaw or they didn’t want to repair the issue.Read more

Received a re-call letter from FCA US LLC back in November of 2024 stating there was a re-call for the HCU which will affect the ABS as well and the ESC. ( Letter attached). Upon receiving the letter, I immediately ( with a day) starting calling around to dealerships to get it fixed, and not one was able to help me. Stating the part isn’t available, which was odd as I just received the letter
... . So I was thinking maybe I called to soon. I called once a month, every month since November 2024. Thinking this would be enough time to find the part, or find a new company or have the part fabricated some how? After months of no luck, I called Mopar/ Fiat. I was told the company that makes the part is no longer in business and when I asked about any other company making this part, no one was able to give me an answer or even another option for getting the re-call fixed. So, that leaves no solutions to get it fixed. Not to mention the chance of failure ( safety) and that fact that it’ll affect my trucks trade-in value. I have been patiently waiting, but nothing seems to be happening. No one is in a rush to find a solution. At some point in June 2025, between approximately 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., I was driving southbound on the 110 Freeway in Los Angeles, just south of the 134 interchange, at approximately 45 mph. Traffic was light, with no vehicles in front of me and no vehicles attempting to merge into my lane. Without warning, a bright red alert appeared on the dashboard of my 2019 BMW x3 and the vehicle suddenly app
... lied full braking. The position of my arms at that moment caused an injury to my right elbow, which has remained painful since the incident. In January 2026, under nearly identical circumstances, the emergency warning appeared again. This time, the brakes did not engage. In July, I contacted BMW Corporate and service center regarding these incidents. I found their response dismissive, stating that “sometimes that happens.” A service center later informed me that this is a known issue referred to as “phantom braking.” Having experienced this firsthand, I believe this represents a serious safety concern. In addition to my injury, I could easily have been rear-ended at freeway speed. Despite acknowledging the issue, BMW Corporate requested that I sign an indemnity waiver in exchange for covering only the inspection cost. This response feels inappropriate, as their initial focus appeared to be limiting liability rather than addressing a known safety defect. Given that this is reportedly a known issue, I believe an inquiry is warranted into how often this has occurred and whether others have been injured.Read more

Traveling at 70 mph on I-5, Washington State, a warning message telling us the braking system was compromised, referencing "VSA", part so the stability control system. It, via computer interpretation, determines how the brake fluid pressure is applied/distributed to all and any of the braking systems. Some systems are automatically initiated and others are initiated by the driver. These systems include the auto-emergency braking, the application of the electric foot brakes, the parking brake among others. We had the car delivered to the local dealership with the above information. The dealer ran an OBD scan and decided that the electric servo booster. I do not challenge this decision. Service tech replaced the plastic clip with a metal bolt. My service advisor stated that a plastic clip should have never replaced a metal
... bolt that is used to protect the emergency brake cables. Have owned BMW’s since 1990 and numerous vehicles since 1968 when I obtained my driver’s license. Paid $804.47 to replace a plastic clip that would have cost nothing if a metal bolt had been used to start with. If the brake lines get damaged because the clip fails, you have no brakes on the vehicle. Spoke with BMW customer service and they said since the clip failed after the warranty period they would not reimburse the repair even though replacing a metal bolt on an emergency brake cable would prevent failure. A car that is garaged and only has 13,263 miles on it should not experience this type of failure. The vehicle's Brake Booster Pump Assembly and Brake Accumulator are exhibiting signs of imminent failure. While the vehicle is in "READY" mode and stationary (in Park), the brake booster pump cycles on and off at an abnormally high frequency (every 15-30 seconds). Additionally, an audible hissing or "squawking" noise can be heard from the brake actuator assembly after the pump cycles, indicating a
... n internal pressure leak within the accumulator. This condition creates a significant safety hazard. If the brake booster pump fails due to this excessive cycling caused by the internal leak, the vehicle will experience a sudden loss of power braking assist. This would result in an unexpectedly hard brake pedal and significantly increased stopping distances, drastically increasing the risk of a crash. Lexus/Toyota has acknowledged this specific defect in Customer Support Program 24LE01 (DTCs C1391, C1252, C1256), identifying it as an "internal malfunction." However, the manufacturer has limited the coverage to 10 years from the date of first use. My vehicle, with only approximately 62,000 miles, is exhibiting these known failure symptoms just outside this arbitrary time window. A safety-critical component like the braking system should not fail at such low mileage, and the manufacturer should address this design defect via a Safety Recall rather than a time-limited warranty extension that leaves owners of low-mileage vehicles with a dangerous defect.Read more
