As many other dodge ram owners are also experiencing anti lock brake control module internal electronic failure. Abs, traction control, and brake warning lights are all on on the dash so abs and traction control are disabled the 4 wheel drive won't function due to this either. Abs has fault code c2200-49 diagnosed at a local facility with fix finder diagnostic and doesn't seem to be any available

This truck is useless on the icy road at this time and dangerous for everyone's safety on the road under normal driving conditions without all of these safety features working as they should. There should be parts available at least if not a recall or maybe even customer pays for the part and dealership programs new part for free! The anti lock brake control modules are faulty on way to many generations of dodge ram vehicles for dodge not to recall all faulty abs control modules on all year models, please help with this issue THANKS in advanceRead more

MY 2024 Nissan Altima, with approximately 13,000 miles stalled while driving in 10 degree Fahrenheit weather with snow on the road. My speed was around 45 MPH. The vehicle immediately stalled and all the lights on the dashboard went on. The warning flashed something about an engine error. The brakes seized up while in snowy weather and with cars very close behind me. Easily could have caused an ac
... cident and was a pretty scary event. The car is maintained well and have very low mileage and is taken care of well. I slowed down and then another error screen popped up saying to immediately take care for service. While I was attempted to slow down with brake pedal super hard to push; I attempted to put car in neutral with my hazard lights on by now. Car started again while I was coasting about 20 mph, with engine light showing. I immediately took it to the closest dealership to me for service and left it there. This is completely unacceptable behavior for a new car of this type and I never experience anything ever like this with my old 2012 Nissan Altima. This could have caused a very bad accident had I not been driving and my wife or something else not as calm as me were to be driving. I suggest investigating this because I have read about recalls for this type of thing on previous models of Nissans. Currently vehicle is parked at dealership for service on 1-24-2026.Read more

Question 1: The Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC) unit, which is a high-pressure "brake-by-wire" hydraulic system. Component A7/3. The component is currently installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection. Question 2: The vehicle experienced a sudden, catastrophic loss of hydraulic brake pressure while in operation. This failure required extreme physical force on the pedal and significant
... increase in stopping distance. The vehicle is currently in my garage with chocked wheels until I figure out what's next. A couple days ago, I had the car at a dealer and requested a review of this system and they released the car back to me stating the system status was, "OK" despite me stating to the dealer that the safety-monitoring counter was found to be at 0 on a 63,000-mile car. In all of my research, I believe this "silenced" the vehicle's ability to provide a timely service warning (Code C249F) before total hydraulic failure occurred. Question 3: Mercedes-Benz of Denver performed a diagnostic on January 21, 2026. While the dealer initially claimed the system was "OK," the total failure occurred within 72 hours of their inspection. The reason it was at Benz of Denver is because my independent mechanic confirmed the 0 actuation count which was suspicious to me. I wanted to understand the mechanical integrity of the newly purchased vehicle. Question 4: Yes, inspected by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership technician on January 21, 2026. Question 5: To my knowledge there were no mechanical symptoms prior to the red screen however, I cannot confirm or deny that as I had driven less than 1000 miles since I purchased the vehicle. I have no concept of how the braking "should have" felt. The only "symptom" was the technical data anomaly (the 0 actuation count) flagged by an independent shop, which I can attest the dealer refused to investigate fully. On January 24th, 2026, the RED dashboard warning appeared: "Reduced Brake Effect - Start Engine!".Read more

I had the vehicle updated to version 2.3.3 by a technician because my car would not update OTA. I thought this update would resolve the ADAS problems as well as the breaking problems. However, on three separate occasions my vehicle has come to an abrupt stop with automatic breaking when approaching a redlight / intersection with no other vehicles in front of me. This occurred while manually ap
... plying the break and then the car just took over. There were no forward collision warnings, rather the car was automatically forced to shuttering stop. An alert appears that the brake system has malfunctioned followed by both LED screens turning off and on. The break malfunction error appears several times. Eventually, the screens will restart and then when you try to put the car into gear a gear shift error appears and the car will not go into gear leaving me stranded in traffic. On one occasion these errors appeared when the car started up in a parking lot. These events are unpredictable and not tied to any visible obstacle. The vehicle cannot reliably receive over-the-air software updates due to persistent connectivity failure as I have tried updated to SW Version 2.5. As a result, both the past federally mandated safety recall remedies could not be delivered not any future updates. I have personally paid out of pocket for recall-related repairs and have not been reimbursed. I have not been contacted regarding replacement of recalled exterior door handles. I was driving and had to hard brake as to not hit a young driver who wasn't paying attention to his driving. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor. There were no warning lights on. I got the car checked out by our local mechanic AND a certified Cadillac dealer. We had a new master cylinder and O ring installed in October. Our mechanic found there is a special bulletin on 18 different
... vehicles with the same issue. And my Cadillac is on that list. I don't understand how this problem CAN'T be a total recall and just a special bulletin. My safety was totally at risk as the brake system was not working properly. Now with that being the Chevy/Cadillac dealership found that there is a problem with the ABS module. Which can not be found anywhere but a third party vendor. After paying almost $400 for the master cylinder and O ring the problem seemed to be fixed but now we have to pay ABS module. I know as the NHTSA can't refund any monies but GM should be held accountable for this issue and should pay for any repairs and parts to fix this dangerous issue. While driving at normal road speed, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warnings at the same time indicating that AdvanceTrac (electronic stability control), traction control, and ABS were disabled, and the vehicle entered a reduced functionality state. These warnings appeared simultaneously without any hard braking, loss of traction, or driver input at the time. The warnings and system fault
... s then cleared in a cascading manner over a short distance, with each system returning one after another while continuing to drive, without shutting off the engine. After approximately a few thousand feet, all warning messages disappeared and the systems appeared to return to normal operation on their own. This has occurred more than once since ownership. The first occurrence happened at approximately 50 mph. The second occurrence happened at approximately 20 mph and occurred only seconds before an emergency braking event in the rain to avoid a collision. At the time the warnings appeared, the vehicle had temporarily lost ABS, stability control, traction control, and related braking assistance systems, creating a serious safety risk during an actual emergency maneuver. After the events, an OBD-II scan was performed and no stored fault codes or diagnostic trouble codes were present. However, for the next several engine on/off cycles, the steering and traction control behavior felt abnormal, as if the systems were only partially engaged, even though no warning lights or messages were displayed. No permanent warning lights remained illuminated afterward. The problem is intermittent and difficult to reproduce. No collision occurred, no repairs have yet been performed, and the cause is currently unknownRead more

While flat towing in Neutral Tow Mode yesterday, [XXX] (appx. [XXX]), we were headed west on [XXX] traveling at 55-mph in the #2 lane when the Maverick abruptly started screeching the tires and dragging behind our motorhome. I was able to safely get to the right shoulder within about 100-yards. We were 18-miles into the 104-mile journey to our home from the RV park in San Dimas. (Level ground.) I
... then got in the Maverick, placed my foot on the brake, started it and shifted to Park to take it out of Neutral Tow Mode. (It started right up)
I then received an error message on the display “Electronic Parking Brake needs servicing” I then unhooked the Maverick from the motorhome and successfully backed it up 50-yards along the shoulder and then drove it forward, the drive train seemed to be fine. At that point I decided to hobble home with my wife driving the Maverick, following behind the motorhome… when I located the next convenient offramp we pulled over to a side street where I drove the Maverick about 2-miles just to verify that it was drivable (other than the flat spots on the front tires.) I know that the EPB activates the rear brakes when stopped, however there aren’t any distinguishable flat spots on the rear tires. I understand that the EPB activates the hydraulic system when activated while in motion. This leads me to believe that the EPB activated on the freeway, causing the malfunction. When we safely returned home I connected the Maverick to the RV and flat towed for 5-miles without any problems. (Appx. 3:00pm) Other Possibility Possibly Neutral Tow Mode disengaged causing the drivetrain to lock up? But it was still in Neutral Tow Mode when I got in the vehicle to start it after the braking incident, and the vehicle doesn’t seemed to have drive train damage. (It drove the remaining 85-miles home without issue.) BlueOx Towing Setup (we have towed for 5,000 miles without issue) and BlueOx Patriot 3 supplemental brake system. I am reporting a recurring, life-threatening electronic failure in my 2023 Hyundai Palisade. On [XXX], while turning into an intersection, the vehicle's brakes spontaneously engaged, stalling the car in the path of oncoming traffic. During this event, multiple critical safety systems failed simultaneously, including the headlights and horn, leaving me unable to warn other drivers. A "violent" surg
... e was required to clear the intersection, risking a high-speed collision. Similar spontaneous recurrences occurred on [XXX] and [XXX], and most recently on [XXX]. These incidents are characterized by "phantom braking," total loss of propulsion, and a complete lack of interior/exterior electronic response. Technical Evidence: Diagnostic scans revealed 16 distinct fault codes (including C161608, C181287, and U012687) involving the Chassis Control Module, Electronic Control Unit (ECU), and communication buses. Despite these logged codes, Hyundai and the dealership have repeatedly returned the vehicle to me, stating they "cannot replicate" the issue, thereby dismissing a documented electronic record of failure. Arbitration Status: I entered into BBB Auto Line Arbitration (Case #[XXX]). Hyundai has contested the claim by attempting to manipulate the "start date" of the defect to February 2024 to avoid Lemon Law statutes, despite dealer records confirming the first occurrence in August 2023. As of January 13, 2026, the dealership is again attempting to force me to take delivery of the unrepaired vehicle. This vehicle is a "phantom" safety hazard. The manufacturer’s inability to replicate a logged electronic fault during a brief test drive does not mitigate the extreme risk of sudden braking and power loss at highway speeds. I am requesting a formal investigation into these specific fault codes and the electronic integrity of this model. I am reporting a dealership conduct issue that directly affected vehicle safety and caused financial loss. Valley Ford of Columbus, Ohio told me by phone that a specific safety-related part for my vehicle was in stock and available. Based on that representation, I traveled to the dealership and took time away from work. When I arrived, I was told the part was not available and had not been there.
... Shortly after this, I went out of town. During that time, Valley Ford stated they were unable to reach me. After returning, I again contacted Valley Ford and was once more told that the same safety-related part was available. I again traveled to the dealership, taking additional time off work, and once again was told upon arrival that the part was not available. This resulted in the same situation happening twice. Because of this repeated misinformation, I lost wages and hard-earned paid time off (PTO), was delayed in repairing my vehicle, and had to continue driving while waiting for a safety-related component I was told was available. I use my vehicle for work every day for approximately eight hours per day. Being forced to continue operating my vehicle without this safety-related repair places myself and other motorists at risk. After these incidents, I contacted Germain Ford of Columbus, Ohio in an effort to resolve the issue. I was informed that the same safety-related part could take up to eight weeks to become available. This extended delay has further prolonged my inability to complete necessary safety-related repairs and has continued to place me in a potentially unsafe driving situation. I believe this repeated misinformation and prolonged unavailability of a safety-related vehicle component is dangerous and unacceptable. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA is aware of the actions of Valley Ford of Columbus, Ohio and the ongoing delay reported by Germain Ford of Columbus, Ohio.Read more

While driving, the electronic parking brake (EPB) system malfunctioned. The vehicle was stopped in DRIVE with Auto Hold active. When the driver door was opened briefly, the vehicle attempted to transition from Auto Hold to applying the electronic parking brake as a safety function. At that moment, the EPB malfunction warning appeared and the parking brake system faulted. There were no prior mecha
... nical brake issues (no dragging brakes, no unusual noises, no brake wear symptoms). The issue appears to be an electronic/control-related failure of the EPB actuator/control unit rather than typical brake wear. A repair facility retrieved multiple diagnostic fault codes related to the electronic parking brake actuator/control unit and recommended replacement of the EPB actuator assembly followed by initialization/calibration and clearing of faults. This creates a potential safety risk because the electronic parking brake may apply unexpectedly or may not apply/release as intended during safety logic events (such as opening the driver door while stopped), potentially immobilizing the vehicle or creating a hazard in traffic or parking situations.Read more

I am writing to report a serious safety incident involving my 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and to request a thorough investigation and guidance on next steps. On Jan. 3, 2026, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on a snowy day, we parked our car in the driveway of a weekend rental home near Lake Tahoe, CA. The driveway had a slight slope toward the house, and we backed the car down the driveway with the rear of th
... e car facing the house. My husband turned off the car, then all five occupants exited the vehicle, closed the doors, and began unloading items from the trunk. The car began rolling backwards toward us and the house. It only stopped after pinning my husband into a snowbank created by a snowplow. The other three adults and our [XXX] niece narrowly avoided being struck. While pinned behind the vehicle, my husband had to dig out some snow to reach into his pants pocket and retrieve the key fob. I then moved the car forward a few feet to free him. Although he was pinned in the snow, my husband was (thankfully) not seriously injured. After freeing my husband, I put the car in Park and turned it off. In this model, the parking brake engages automatically; there is no separate parking brake button or lever. A few minutes later, without anyone in or near the vehicle, the car again rolled backwards down the driveway into the same snowbank. Tracks in the snow clearly indicate that the wheels rotated and the car rolled; it was not sliding on ice with the brakes applied. In other words, the parking brake and/or Park mechanism failed to hold the vehicle in place in sub freezing, snowy conditions. The temperature at this location and time was in the mid 20s °F. After returning home from our trip, we took the car to our Hyundai service center, which has performed all maintenance since we purchased it in 2022. The service center performed all standard diagnostics but was unable to replicate the failure conditions. On 14th, 2026, while traveling at approximately 60 mph on the northbound 55 Freeway near the Katella exit, my vehicle suddenly began to shake violently without any prior warning. In response, I attempted to slow down by applying the brakes; however, the speedometer rapidly increased even as I maintained firm pressure on the brake pedal. Immediately afterward, the vehicle pulled sharply to the left

Despite the force of the impact, the airbags did not deploy, raising additional concerns about potential safety system failures. At no point before the incident were there warning lights, alerts, or indications of mechanical or electronic issues. The vehicle had also undergone its regularly scheduled maintenance at the Tustin Mazda dealership on January 2nd, 2026, just prior to the accident. Given the sudden shaking, unintended acceleration, loss of braking effectiveness, steering failure, and non‑deployment of airbags, I believe this incident may involve one or more manufacturer defects affecting critical safety systems. On multiple occasions, after the vehicle had been parked and not driven for approximately five days or more, the automatic parking brake locked in place and would not release. I attempted standard methods to disengage the brake, including manual release procedures and lightly rocking the vehicle, without success. The only way to release the brake was to apply significant pressure to the accelerato
... r while in reverse, which caused the brake to suddenly unlock. The first incident occurred while the vehicle was parked in my home garage. At the time, my grandson was playing nearby. The sudden release of the brake after applying the accelerator created a dangerous situation and was extremely alarming. A second incident occurred several days later while I was on vacation. In this instance, I made sure no one was near the vehicle before attempting to release the brake. Anticipating the issue, I had my left foot ready to push on the breaks when I accelerated using my right foot which releases the parking. I brought the vehicle to a Mercedes-Benz dealership on January 5, 2026, where the car remained for nearly ten days. The dealership was able to replicate the issue exactly as described. The service advisor also had to apply significant accelerator pressure to release the locked parking brake. A certified Mercedes-Benz technician inspected the vehicle thoroughly, including scanning for fault codes and checking for rust or mechanical issues, but ultimately advised that this behavior was considered “normal operation.” I find this explanation concerning. Having to apply forceful acceleration to release a locked parking brake presents a clear safety risk, particularly in confined spaces such as garages or parking structures, and could easily result in property damage or personal injuryRead more

I continued on my trip and the warning light kept coming on. Stopped at another ford dealer who cleaned up some connectors. The warning light kept coming on and I took it back. Now they think it needs a new ABS module and said it is back ordered for 2 months and I’m a 1000+ miles from home.Read more

I AM REPORTING A SEVERE AND RECURRING SAFETY DEFECT WHERE MY VEHICLE SUFFERS A COMPLETE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE POWER WHILE IN MOTION. Increased brake pedal effort to the point of difficulty to stop or control brake pressure at low speeds. I have a 2013 FORD Edge that the ABS module has gone out deeming the vehicle unsafe to drive. We have spoken to several FORD dealership team members and have all stated that the part should be recalled and the part is unavailable until sometime next year or later. We were told by FORD customer service, that in order to escalate the issue, then we needed to take to a dealership. We dropped the car
... off and never heard back from anyone and finally after many attempts to contact the dealership, I was finally able to get a team member on the line. They then tell us until we pay the diagnostic fees, they can't do anything. We were never told that from the start of the initial call and are back to square one. The car has no anti-lock brakes and is deemed unsafe to drive, please assist in anyway possible.Read more
