RITICAL BRAKING FAILURE & DEALER NEGLIGENCE: The vehicle exhibits a violent shudder and loss of deceleration during the hand-off between regenerative and friction braking. This defect was first reported to the dealer (Rich Ford) at 35,399 miles (RO #[XXX]) within the Bumper-to-Bumper warranty but was not repaired. THE INCIDENT: On [Insert Date], the braking system failed to decelerate the vehicle
... during a traffic slowdown. The pedal vibrated violently, and the vehicle did not stop. I was forced to swerve across two lanes of traffic onto the shoulder to avoid a high-speed rear-end collision. DEALER NEGLIGENCE: The vehicle was in dealer possession from Jan 12–28, 2026 (16 days). Odometer records prove they only test-drove it for 7 miles. They failed to apply known TSB 23-2209 (Hybrid Shudder) and released the vehicle to me despite active internal ABS Pump Control Codes (C052E and U0418) recorded in the vehicle logs on Jan 22, 2026. REPORTING IRREGULARITY: The dealer coded this latest safety attempt as "Routine Maintenance/Flush" rather than a safety repair, effectively hiding the defect history from the manufacturer and my warranty provider to avoid Lemon Law liability. The vehicle remains unsafe to drive. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

On Feb. 2, While driving slowly in a school zone, with no cars in front of me, my car proceeded to abruptly brake over and over 5 times. The warning came on the dash "front end collision". I also had NO CONTROL over the car! I was extremely fortunate not to be rear ended during this event. At that time I immediately called my Genesis dealer who asked if it was snowing and often this can occur! Wh

The Service Advisor was NOT very helpful, offered NO solutions and I was very scared driving my car home to say the least! Today, Feb. 3 (the next day following this incident) I called my Genesis dealer again asking for the Service Mgr. The car was now showed a warning light indicating a malfunction in the Active Air Flap system and the Service Mgr. informed me that the car is NOT SAFE to drive and they would tow it to the dealership.Read more

While driving under normal conditions on a dry road (no snow or ice), the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of braking performance while in motion. The vehicle was traveling approximately 10–15 mph and approaching an intersection with a red traffic light. A warning message appeared stating: “Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer.” Immediately after this mes
... sage, braking performance was significantly reduced. Multiple attempts to slow the vehicle using the brake pedal resulted in minimal deceleration. The stopping distance was much longer than expected for the speed and conditions. The vehicle only came to a stop after the brake pedal was pressed with full force. Shortly after the initial brake warning, multiple additional safety-related systems went offline, including collision avoidance and other braking-related driver assistance systems. Approximately five to six warning messages appeared, indicating a cascading failure of safety systems while the vehicle was still in motion. The driver was able to slowly maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road and park safely. No collision occurred. However, shortly before this incident, the vehicle had been driven on a highway. If the same failure had occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could have resulted in a serious crash or injury. The vehicle is relatively new (approximately two years old, low mileage) and has been routinely maintained. There were no prior warning signs before this event. The vehicle is currently available for inspection at a dealership. A preliminary dealer explanation suggested a possible low or discharged battery; however, the cause of the braking failure has not been clearly established. This incident involved loss of braking performance while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a significant safety risk.Read more

Catastrophic brake system failure. When leaving my home in Baltimore County, MD, at approx. 10:00am on February 3rd, my vehicle started up normally. Ever since I bought that vehicle, it's had system malfunctions. I received three letters directly from Ford explaining the problems this vehicle had or could have. But he and the dealerships, where I took my vehicle for repairs, never did them. They always denied that it had any problems and said that my vehicle was new and had nothing wrong with it.

[XXX] is subject to Safety Recall 20V-755 Hyundai Recall 251 for a defective ABS module that may leak brake fluid, cause an electrical short, and increase the risk of an engine compartment fire. The recall remains open and has not been performed. On Feb 2, I brought the vehicle to McGovern Hyundai of Arlington and disclosed an active brake fluid leak consistent with Recall 251. I also stated that
... brakes were recently replaced 4 weeks ago. The service advisor incorrectly said the recall was just for a fuse and unrelated to brake fluid. The dealership drove the car for a state inspection despite knowing about the leak and open recall. They stated the brakes are bad and requested payment for a diagnostic, which I declined. No diagnostic testing was performed. The dealership informed me the required ABS module part was unavailable and instructed me to return Friday, waiting 3 5 business days. The recall repair was not completed, and no towing or alternate transportation was offered. The dealership invoice documents the incomplete repair. I live in East Boston, MA, a densely populated urban area with street parking. If the defect causes a fire, it could endanger nearby vehicles, residences, and public safety. I am filing this complaint to document the unprepared safety defect, dealership misinformation, and ongoing community fire risk. This vehicle has been returned to service 5 times. It is currently in service for the same 4 issues that it was taken to service for the very first time on 12/10/2025. This includes inappropriate braking on the interstate, driver window malfunction, the key intermittently stops working, and the connectivity does not regularly work. In addition to these 4 issues, the main screen in the car stop

As of February 2nd, 2026 the car has been returned to service 5 times and has been back to the dealership for service for 37 days and still counting since the original pick up date of 11/21/2025. The dealership has not honored their commitments with black label service. I was upsold on the vehicle for this service. On multiple occasions I have not been provided the delivery that is included. I was told by the assistant manager that this service would include a Lincoln Navigator brought to my location. The GM informed myself and my husband that they do not have to honor that. They offered a car that did not legally fit my 4 children in the backseat. Eventually, after many phone calls, they offered a much smaller Aviator. The service manager stated they they attempted 3 different eyeballs. When questioned on dates that they provided to Lincoln, he became very defensive and hung up on me. My husband and I attempted to meet with him in person at the dealership. After being told that he would meet with us and then waiting 3 hours, we had to leave. The GM did not provide assistance with this, as he stated he was in a meeting. The GM and assistant manager have both stated that we have no legal recourse, as I signed an arbitration agreement.Read more

The collision involved three vehicles: my VW, the main car I hit, and a rental car. My car spun and veered sideways, the parked SUV on the right was pushed sideways, forming a rough “H” pattern, and the rental car went up onto a rail ramp where children walk. My grandson observed the car’s tires spinning at impact, and he hit the seat behind me. Without the parked cars, the vehicle would have continued directly toward the school building, creating a very serious risk of fatal injuries to parents, staff, and children. Injuries: Myself — pain and emotional trauma; grandson — soft cast on foot/leg, crutches, pain; his mother — pain. The vehicle is awaiting Volkswagen guidance for inspection. I am submitting this complaint to report serious concerns regarding the quality, safety, and reliability of my new Kia Soul, as well as the financial burden caused by defects that should not occur on a vehicle with such low mileage. At approximately **8,500 miles**, one of the original tires failed prematurely. I was forced to purchase a used tire to keep the vehicle safely drivable. I had the fr
... ont alignment inspected, and I was informed that it was within normal specifications, yet the tire issue persisted. Now at **10,000 miles**, I am still experiencing abnormal tire wear. Additionally, at **10,000 miles**, the vehicle began making **grinding noises when applying the brakes**, which is extremely concerning for a car that is still essentially new. These issues raise questions about the vehicle’s manufacturing quality and whether it meets reasonable consumer expectations for safety and durability. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation that it would be reliable and free from major defects. Instead, I am facing unexpected expenses, safety concerns, and ongoing problems that should be covered under warranty. I am now questioning whether I should continue making payments on a vehicle that is already showing signs of significant defects. I am requesting that the FTC review this matter as a potential issue involving product quality, warranty compliance, and consumer protection. I am seeking assistance in ensuring that Kia addresses these defects appropriately and that my rights as a consumer are upheld. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

On February 1, 2026, at approximately 9:09 AM, while driving from a stop and continuing on main roads, the vehicle accelerated to extremely high speeds and would not properly slow down. When I removed my foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehicle did not decelerate as expected. Regenerative braking was nonexistent. Normally, releasing the accelerator provides noticeable deceleration, but in this
... incident the vehicle continued to propel forward instead of slowing. Braking was extremely difficult. The brake pedal felt abnormally stiff (“thick”) and required significant effort to depress. Even while actively braking, it felt as though the vehicle was still attempting to accelerate forward and did not slow normally. This occurred for a couple hundred yards before I was able to pull over due to safety concerns. At the same time, the vehicle was in All-Purpose drive mode, but the ride height was stuck at kneel height and would not adjust, which is abnormal. After pulling over, the vehicle would not shift into Park. I had to press the brake pedal with both feet while fully depressing it and lifting myself off the seat to keep the vehicle from moving. I then had to open the driver door in order to force the vehicle into Park. There were no warning lights or messages displayed on the dashboard. The vehicle was towed to the Rivian Service Center but has not yet been inspected because the service center is currently closed. This malfunction created a serious safety risk due to unintended acceleration, loss of normal deceleration, difficulty braking, abnormal suspension behavior, and inability to shift into Park.Read more

The service department at my dealership contacted the TAC Dept. at GM and they determined that the problem was caused by the brake light wiring from my truck topper (that was after they asked if the customer had added any accessories to the truck). I have had the topper for 3 years without any issues. I reached out to the company that installed the topper and the owner said that GM is giving me the run around and trying to point the blame elsewhere. He himself has installed 100's of toppers and they follow the wiring instructions from Leer Toppers. He did a 30 second Google search and said [XXX] , the problem you have experienced is well documented online, GM knows what the problem is with your truck". My truck was at the dealership for 5 days before they released it to me, even after I told them that there are known and documented cases of their trucks experiencing momentary rear wheel lockups. I have called GM Customer Service twice and left messages regarding my truck and TAC # and haven't received a return call. I am fearful that when this happens again and if it does so in the wrong place at the wrong time the end of this story may be tragic. This recall affects the brake hydraulic control unit ("HCU") on my RAM 2500. I already had this part replaced back in 2022, and it went bad again in the Summer of 2025. I'm trying to sell the truck, but the incessant error messages and bell ringing makes that impossible. Nobody is going to buy a truck in this condition. Ram has known about this for years, and the recall was issued 14 months ago. S
... till no fix? I had the truck to my dealer last week and they said they are unable to help me with a replacement part, because it is not available. So now I'm driving around with a broken ABS system and constant error messages and audible warnings from my dashboard. For such a big company, it shouldn't take this long to develop a remedy to this problem. Anything you can do to assist would be appreciated. Thanks.Read more

Loss of braking. Note weather was cold in single digits Fahrenheit and midly snowy. I drove my 2025 Ford Bronco that was purchased in Octorber about 20 minutes to drop off my child at daycare. Going into the daycare I turned to Slippery/4A mode. After about 5 minutes inside I pulled out and switched back to Normal/2H mode. Less than half a mile later I got multiple warnings that the brakes, EBB, c
... ollision detect, and ABS had faulted, and I should service now. I only had the electronic parking brake available. I was able to use it and engine braking with my manual transmission to get to off the road to a parking lot, although I did also receive a parking brake overheat fault the turn before getting into the parking lot. I shut the vehicle off without the parking brake on. I turned it back on and the dash warning lights all disappeared after a few seconds. Brake function returned and I drove it to a Ford service center about 1 mile away. They were not able to reproduce the problem or find any DTCs. I did get notifications of some of the faults to my Ford app on my phone. I am uploading the redacted RO and screenshots of the Ford notifications. Losing braking obviously put myself and my passenger pregnant wife at risk. Thankfully I was moving at lower speeds on a flat section of road and not taking a highway exit at the time of failure.Read more

The forward collision avoidance system in this generation of Hyundai tucsons is dangerously flawed. We previously had a 2020 and no issues, but this one slams the brakes at the drop of a hat and has nearly caused several accidents as there is no good reason for the intervention (ample space to leading vehicle) and it brakes so hard that cars behind typically need to veer to avoid rear end collisi
... on. This is not a one-off event or linked to particular driver/driving style - both adult owners of this vehicle have experienced this on multiple unrelated occasions. All sensitivity setting have been set to minimum and the only way to drive with peace of mind is to completely disable the system - but here is where the next massive design flaw is: the system automatically reenables at each re-ignition; there is not permanent override, which is EXTREMELY dangerous. It is not practical to manually disable the system on each drive because you need to navigate multiple system menus to adjust the setting. Google and user forums confirm this collision avoidance system is a widely experienced and complained about safety issue for Hyundai and it should be investigated. People will likely get killed due to this “safety feature”. Ideally Hyundai should push a recalibration for those who want this feature AND enable a permanent override option in the system settings for those who don’t.Read more

This report documents two separate safety incidents involving the same vehicle that occurred on different dates. Approximately one month prior to the most recent incident, while driving my young children to school, the vehicle experienced a sudden and severe loss of braking effectiveness while in motion. I was unable to stop normally at stop signs and had to roll through and roll to a stop. I was
... required to press the brake pedal fully to the floor to slow the vehicle, and even then braking response was significantly reduced and not functioning as designed. The engine remained running and the vehicle could still accelerate. After stopping and restarting the vehicle, braking function temporarily returned. On a later date, while again transporting my children, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving. The vehicle abruptly shut down while in motion. I was unable to accelerate and experienced loss of power assisted braking. The vehicle only came to a stop after coasting. Following this shutdown, a burning or melted plastic odor was present. The vehicle was later towed and inspected by a dealership. The battery was replaced; however, this did not resolve the issue. After the battery replacement, the vehicle later hesitated to start again. The exact cause of these failures remains unknown. These incidents occurred without warning and represent serious safety critical failures involving braking and propulsion systems. Both incidents placed my children, myself, and other motorists at risk. Had either event occurred on a highway or heavily trafficked roadway, there would have been little to no ability to safely slow or stop the vehicle, creating a significant risk of collision or serious injury. Due to these events, I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle and have stopped driving it. The vehicle remains available for inspection.Read more

Replaced the frozen suspension last year. Now that it’s cold again, similar codes are being thrown with new ones: Service Trailer Brake System, Service Air Suspension System, Service Electronic Braking System. To note, I’ve had a “Check Fuel Cap” code for years. It’s tied to 3 sensors along the fuel tank and absolutely nothing to do with the fuel cap itself. For the air suspension sensor
... s (WHICH I’VE ALREADY REPLACED ONCE), and the fuel cap sensors— they all run nearly $300 a pop and that isn’t including labor. I personally cannot financially keep up with the vehicle’s maintenance costs. The fact that Canada had a class action lawsuit against FCA for the air suspension but we don’t is baffling. I pray nothing comes from these defective parts because I will be suing.Read more
