Known Recall Issue: The failure pattern aligns with known manufacturer defect categories involving: •Engine torque / internal engine failure conditions •Cooling system failure leading to overheating Shortly after I purchased my 2015 Range Rover, I started to have repeated and escalating safety-critical failures involving sudden loss of power, engine malfunction, and vehicle shutdown while dri
... ving at highway speeds. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of complete or partial power loss while in motion, resulting in near-collision events. Despite repeated repairs by authorized dealerships, the underlying defect has not been resolved. The failure pattern suggests a systemic mechanical defect involving engine performance and cooling system integrity rather than isolated maintenance issues. The primary safety concern is sudden loss of propulsion while driving at highway speeds, which has occurred on more than one occasion. These incidents present a significant risk of: •Rear-end collisions •Loss of vehicle control •Serious injury or fatality TECHNICAL FAILURE PATTERN Observed progression of failure: •Oil leakage / burning smell •Internal engine degradation symptoms •Cooling system failure and overheating •Electrical instability •Final engine shutdown / seizure events This suggests a systemic mechanical defect affecting engine integrity and thermal management systems. REQUEST FOR INVESTIGATION I respectfully request NHTSA to: 1.Investigate potential safety defects in this vehicle and model year 2.Evaluate whether similar failures are occurring in other vehicles 3.Assess adequacy of existing recall coverage 4.Review risk associated with sudden engine shutdown while driving 5.Determine whether recall expansion or additional safety action is warrantedRead more

At approximately 18,500 miles, my 2023 Nissan Ariya experienced a brake system failure while driving. The vehicle exhibited abnormal braking behavior and reduced braking performance, creating a serious safety concern. I was able to safely stop the vehicle, but the failure could have resulted in an accident. The vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealership for inspection. The diagnosis revealed severe
... and premature wear of the rear brake pads and significant damage to the rear rotors. The dealership also recommended replacement of the entire rear brake assemblies, not just standard wear components. The total repair estimate is approximately $3,800. Safety Concern: This failure occurred at very low mileage. In an electric vehicle with regenerative braking, brake components should last significantly longer under normal conditions. The extent of damage and need for full brake assembly replacement suggests a potential mechanical or electronic defect, such as a caliper malfunction or braking system issue. This was not normal wear and tear. The failure occurred during operation and posed a direct safety risk due to compromised braking ability. Manufacturer Response: The dealership has indicated the issue may not be covered under warranty, classifying it as wear-related. However, the severity and early failure strongly indicate an underlying defect rather than routine wear. I have contacted Nissan Corporate claims for further resolution. When visually inspecting the car the rotors were irregularly worn and the brake lines had burst spilling break fluid all over the rear innner tire .Read more

**Vehicle Information:** 2023 Range Rover (purchased used on December 19, 2025 with approximately 21,000 miles) **Component/System Involved:** Rear braking system (rear brake pads and rotors). The vehicle has experienced repeated premature wear of the rear brakes. The component is available for inspection upon request. **Description of the Failure/Malfunction:** At approximately 25,000 miles, I
... was informed by the servicing dealership, Land Rover Austin, that the rear brakes required replacement. At that time, I had only driven the vehicle approximately 3,355 miles since purchase. I subsequently learned that the rear brakes had already been replaced once before at approximately 12,000 miles. This indicates two rear brake replacements within 25,000 miles, which is significantly below expected brake life. The dealership service department indicated that this may be due to how the rear braking system engages during turning, particularly in city driving conditions, leading to accelerated wear. This is happening in the newer models, is what I was told. **Safety Risk:** Premature and accelerated brake wear creates a potential safety hazard, including reduced braking performance and increased stopping distance if the condition is not identified and addressed promptly. Because this wear occurs faster than expected, it may not be reasonably anticipated by the driver, increasing the risk of operating the vehicle with degraded braking capability. **Reproduction/Confirmation of the Problem:** The issue has been confirmed by an authorized dealership service department, which identified the rear brakes as worn and requiring replacement at approximately 25,000 miles. **Inspection History:** The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized dealerRead more

The rear subframe wiring harness on my Tesla contains a significant design flaw that creates an unreasonable safety risk. The factory-installed corrugated protective tubing (wire loom) terminates prematurely, leaving approximately 1 inch of critical wiring completely exposed at the connector. This specific harness uses soy-based insulation, which is a known attractant to rodents. Because of the 1-
... inch gap in protection, rodents have been able to sever the same connector twice within a 30-day period Safety Risk: The exposed wires in the rear subframe harness are responsible for Rear Drive Unit communication / Wheel Speed Sensors / Brakes]. A failure of these wires while the vehicle is in motion could result in a sudden loss of propulsion, unexpected braking, or the loss of stability control systems. This creates a high risk of a collision, particularly at highway speeds.Read more

While braking at low speed approaching a stoplight, the vehicle did not slow as expected when I removed my foot from the accelerator. As I applied increasing brake pressure, the engine revved and the vehicle continued to move forward into the intersection. The brakes appeared to be working but had to counter engine power, and the tires briefly chirped. I shifted into neutral to stop the vehicle an

The vehicle was in Fuel and Oil Refresh Mode (FORM) with Max Regenerative Braking enabled at the time of the incident. There were no warning lights or messages. I provided dashcam video to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the condition but reported that stored vehicle data showed ABS activation during the incident. The dealer has documented the event as a safety concern and reported it to the manufacturer. This appears to involve unintended forward movement or application of engine power while braking, creating a significant safety risk.Read more

Component or system that failed or malfunctioned The issue involves a safety recall‑related system on my Ram truck that remains open with no available remedy for over one year. The vehicle is now experiencing traction loss while pulling and during normal driving, along with multiple failure/warning lights activating on the dashboard. How my safety or the safety of others was put at risk While d
... riving and when pulling/accelerating, the vehicle unexpectedly loses traction, which creates a risk of loss of control, especially during traffic, turns, or acceleration from a stop. The appearance of failure lights combined with traction loss presents a serious safety risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists, increasing the likelihood of a crash. Whether the problem has been reproduced or confirmed The safety defect is confirmed by the open NHTSA recall associated with my VIN. The traction loss and failure lights have occurred during normal vehicle operation and continue to reappear. The issue has not been repaired due to the manufacturer stating that no recall remedy is currently available. Inspections by dealer, manufacturer, or others Authorized Ram/Dodge dealers have confirmed that the recall remains open with no repair solution available from the manufacturer. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by police or insurance representatives, but it remains available for inspection. Warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms Failure and warning indicator lights have appeared on the dashboard and remain present. These symptoms began while the recall was still unresolved and now occur in conjunction with traction loss during driving and pulling, indicating the defect may be actively affecting vehicle safety.Read more

Yes, the damaged components should be available for inspection through the repair shop or service records, although I would need to confirm the exact location of the retained parts. Safety was significantly put at risk. During the second incident, the vehicle was occupied by multiple passengers, including minors. While approaching a red light, the driver attempted to brake and found that the brakes were not functioning properly. The driver had to shift the vehicle into park and use the emergency brake to stop, narrowly avoiding a serious collision. This created a high-risk, potentially life-threatening situation. The first incident was addressed by a mechanic after the check engine light appeared, confirming damage to the fuel injector-related wiring. The second incident was formally confirmed by a mechanic that the brake line was leaking from damage from, what they highly suspected and have seen in the past, a rodent . In the first incident, a check engine light appeared, prompting immediate attention. ... here is a known and reported problem among drivers, shared often in driver forums like Reddit, where vehicles will change to Engage mode from either Whisper or Unbridle. Over a year ago, I first noticed my car doing this on a downhill exit from a highway to a stoplight. I engaged the brake when I realized I was approaching the stopped car in front of me faster than I should. Over the past 16 months, I’ve experienced this at least twice a month, with no way I’ve been able to discern of predicting when it will happen. My 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan has repeatedly experienced a complete loss of motive power while driving in active traffic. The engine stalls without warning, forcing me to perform a manual reset in the middle of the road. The vehicle also has a severe defect where it independently engages the electronic parking brake or shifts itself into Park during low-speed or turning maneuvers. This happens without
... any driver input and results in the car "slamming" to a violent stop. My safety and my baby’s safety are put at risk every time I start this car. The engine has stalled multiple times while I was in the middle of busy traffic, leaving us a "sitting duck" for a rear-end collision. There is no warning; the power just cuts out, and I’m left stranded trying to restart the car while other drivers swerve around us. When the car slams on the brakes or shifts itself into Park while I’m moving, it feels like the car is fighting me for control. I can’t trust the vehicle to stay moving when it’s supposed to or stay in gear when I’m merging. It is a life-threatening defect that makes the car completely undrivable. Yes, the vehicle has been inspected twice by the authorized manufacturer dealership, Pacific Volkswagen. They have documented the safety issues on Repair Orders #[XXX] and #[XXX]. During these inspections, the service department confirmed that the vehicle is unsafe to drive, yet they stated they could not find a diagnostic "code" to provide a permanent fix. No warning lamps or error messages appeared prior to the engine stalling in traffic. The loss of power is sudden and total. The only symptom that appeared was during parking maneuvers, where the dashboard would occasionally display "Sensor Restricted" followed by the car independently shifting into Park or slamming on the brakes. These symptoms first appeared in March 2026, within the first 970 miles of operation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Vehicle: 2019 Chevrolet Traverse Issue: “Shift to Park” warning – vehicle fails to recognize it is in Park I am filing a complaint regarding a persistent &dangerous defect with my 2019 Chevrolet Traverse involving the “Shift to Park” warning system. For the past several years, my vehicle has repeatedly failed to recognize that it is in Park, even when it clearly is. This issue has escal
... ated into a serious safety and reliability concern. Most recently, I was stranded in a store parking lot for over two hours because my vehicle would not properly shut off or restart due to the false “Shift to Park” warning. I had to call someone to disconnect the battery to prevent it from draining completely, which caused additional cost and inconvenience. After reconnecting the battery, the vehicle still would not start for another 2hours. This defect leaves me at risk of being stranded at any time, including in unsafe or isolated. As a single parent of 4 young children, this creates a significant safety concern for my family. This problem has been ongoing since Oct 2023 and has occurred repeatedly since then, and consistently every month since then, often four or more times per month. I have brought this issue to a Chevrolet dealership, Reed-Lallier Chevrolet in Fayetteville, NC, multiple times. Despite being charged diagnostic fees, no permanent fix has been provided. This is a known issue with this vehicle model related to a faulty shifter assembly or park detection system. This defect impacts the vehicle’s ability to shut off, restart, & function reliably, creating a serious safety hazard. I am requesting that this issue be formally investigated & that appropriate action be taken to require a recall or manufacturer-covered repair. This problem is widespread among similar vehicles & should not continue to leave drivers stranded or at risk. On April 13, 2026, I brought my 2019 Honda Odyssey to a Honda dealership in Chicago, IL for a dealer-initiated recall service. The dealer contacted me and asked me to come in. Before the recall service, the vehicle had zero warning lights, zero error codes, and was operating completely normally. Immediately after the recall service was completed, the following warning lights appeared on the dashbo
... ard: Brake System warning, Hill Start Assist Problem, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) warning, and additional stability/steering system warnings. None of these warnings existed before the service. I returned to the dealership the same day. The service team cleared all error codes. However, within minutes of driving off the lot, all warning lights reappeared. This confirms the issue is persistent and not a one-time post-update self-check. I returned a second time. The service manager stated the warnings were not caused by the recall service and refused to investigate further. The dealer quoted $800 for diagnostic work. I also contacted American Honda by phone and was told they could not intervene. With the Brake System and VSA warnings active, the anti-lock braking system and vehicle stability control may not be functioning properly. This puts me and other drivers at risk, especially in emergency braking situations and on slippery roads. I drive a 2022 Kenworth T680 equipped with a Bendix collision mitigation / automatic emergency braking system. On multiple occasions, the system has applied the service brakes hard with no real obstacle in front of the truck, creating a serious rear‑end collision risk for vehicles behind me. The events typically occur in rain, fog, or under overpasses and signs at highway speeds with cruise cont
... rol engaged. The truck suddenly brakes without warning or driver input, dropping speed rapidly in the travel lane while traffic is following. I have documented dates, locations, weather, and traffic conditions for these incidents. In each case, there was no stopped or slowing vehicle in my lane that justified automatic emergency braking. This appears to be a “false positive” AEB activation similar to those NHTSA is already investigating on other Class 8 tractors, where the system misidentifies harmless objects or roadway features and commands an unnecessary stop. These false activations put me and other motorists at risk of a rear‑end crash. The dealer has indicated they are limited in how much they can disable the system for liability reasons, so I am submitting this as a safety defect report and requesting that NHTSA investigate this behavior on Kenworth T680 trucks with this collision mitigation system.Read more

Truck was driven into the ditch to avoid rear-ending vehicles. This happened immediately without warning, all braking prior to this incident was normal. When taken to our mechanic, they advised the

I have $80,000 in my jeep parked in my garage because the ABS module failed. Error code C2200. I have taken it to three Mechanics; Kap Motor Sports in Palmetto Fl, AFNY, and 4 Wheel Parts in Bradenton Fl. All have run tests coming back with the same error. We have done two Abs bleeds to try and fix the problem. This part should have been recalled years ago. It has been on back order for years and
... when Firkins Jeep in Bradenton Fl tried to order the part the order was canceled by Jeep. Jeep hasn't recalled it and isn't making it available for their customers who have spent so much money on their jeeps. At this point a lawsuit needs to be filed and have started that process. This is my daily driver and if my Jeep kills or injures someone due to this ABS failure Jeep will be held responsible.Read more
