I am reporting a critical safety issue with the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator in my 2013 Honda Accord Ex. The VSA modulator has failed, causing significant safety concerns, including erratic braking behavior, a complete loss of anti-lock braking (ABS) functionality, and compromised stability control. Only after avoiding near collision while driving on I5 freeway the failure illuminated
... various dashboard warning lights, such as the ABS light, VSA light, and brake system warning light. This failure has placed me, my passengers, and other road users at risk, especially with the stop and go traffic of rush hour. Luckily it was sunny clear weather because if there was even slight wet or slippery conditions I'm certain the harm would have been disastrous. -Known Technical Causes: Failure of internal solenoids or valves in the VSA modulator unit. Corrosion or damage to electronic components within the modulator. Malfunctioning sensors associated with the ABS and stability systems. -Repair Details: Replacement of the VSA modulator unit is often necessary. Cost of repair typically ranges between $2,000 and $3,000. Many owners report delays in repairs due to part availability. -Reports and Complaints: Numerous complaints can be found on forums, owner groups, and repair sites detailing identical failures in 2013–2017 Honda Accords. Commonly reported safety risks include increased stopping distances and difficulty maintaining control on slippery roads. Honda’s Response: Some owners report that Honda dealerships acknowledge the issue but do not offer repairs under warranty unless an extended warranty is in place. There is an already a recall for the VSA modulators for 2022 Accords. I believe this should be extended to their earlier models with the same issues.Read more

I had just left my home and got up to about 20-25 MPH when my Jeep Wrangler Willy’s 4XE suddenly and abruptly came to a full stop causing the tires to lock up as well and screech to a stop then it shut down and I had to restart it. They just said there were no DCT’s but there was some software updates and that should fix it. They also claimed there were no recalls present on the vehicle which is even more scary. In August of 2024 I began receiving an error message in my vehicle stating "Service Electronic Breaking System" on the gauge cluster. I also noticed the dash lights indicating that the ABS and traction control were disabled. The vehicle remained in this state whenever the vehicle was running. While i was returning home from work i hit the breaks on the freeway and the breaks locked up and i began

I made an appointment on August 26,2024 to have the vehicle inspected and serviced at the dealership where i purchased the vehicle. After some correspondence the service rep indicated that there were other vehicles in for service for the same issue. It is now 28 Jan 2025 as of the date of this submission and my vehicle has still been able to be repaired. After numerous inquires with the service department i was informed that the module in question was under Engineer Review at the manufacturer and they could not ship the part until that was complete. The ETA of completion has been pushed back several times ,everytime i enquire for an update and is currently projected at 19 February, I have also opened an inquiry with the manufacturer Ram Customer Care / Stellantis case for assistance and havent received much in the way of additional information or assistance.Read more

On Nov 9, 2024 I was pulling into a parking spot in a public parking garage, after turning 2 tight corners to approach the parking spot. It is just not possible that I could have personally pulled into a parking spot at such a high speed as to cause such extreme damage to the vehicle! I drove the vehicle to a body shop on 11/11/24, which was one recommended by my insurance company. The vehicle was inspected by the body shop, which was directly in contact with my insurance company. I did ask the shop to make sure the mechanic checked for any safety issues during repair, as I was concerned as to the cause of the accident. I have an impeccable driving record and I cannot explain how such an accident could happen! I had no issues with the car previously. Upon further inspection into the damage, on 1/3/25 it was finally evaluated as a total loss, as there was damage to the frame and other issues! I did receive a statement on 1/3/25 from the body shop that there was a "fault in the system, causing gas pedal lock, which might be cause of accident". My 2025 Model X has a feature commonly called "one pedal drive", where lifting pressure off the gas pedal causes regenerative braking force. This feature is *forced on* at all times, and is unsafe in slippery icy conditions, especially turns, especially downhill. I don't know if this is because of a malfunction of their regen-braking anti-lock (the ABS equvialent), or because it's simply not poss
... ible to drive safely in slippery conditions with one-pedal-drive regen braking... but either way, this situation is unsafe. I urge you to investigate this situation, and consider issuing a recall requiring Tesla to perform a software update to give drivers the ability to turn off one-pedal-drive, for safety in snowy and icy conditions. NOTE: Tesla's owners manual for the Model Y recommends drivers disable one-pedal-drive by turning regenerative braking to LOW, but they have disabled the ability to do this on all Model S/X cars 2020+. From their Model Y owners manual: "Warning: In snowy or icy conditions, Model Y may experience loss of traction during regenerative braking, particularly when in the Standard setting and/or not using winter tires. Tesla recommends using the Low setting in snowy or icy conditions to help maintain vehicle stability." Here is a video example of this happening to a driver (not me) for reference. I purchased my 2022 GMC SIERRA XLT in February of 2022. I have had it in the shop 4 times for recalls. Put on the flashers and drove about 15 mph with the tach at 1500-2000rpm. The dash displayed "Brake system failure 62 mph top speed", "Service ESC", "Parking brake failure" and "Service trailer brake system", The brake pedal was changing its height by itself. Pulled to side of road and pumped the brakes several times, shifted the transmission through park, neutral, reverse and drive and it seemed to operate normally. Pulled onto road and it was bogging down the same. Pulled to side of road again. Then started driving again with flashers on and the tranny shifted as normal, but the brake pedal went to the floor. Pumped the brake pedal and it still went to the floor. Drove slowly while checking the brake occasionally but still went to the floor during the 5 blocks to my driveway. The brake had no effect. My driveway slopes slightly upward so I stopped safely. All four wheel centers and brake rotors were too hot to touch after slowly driving the 1.5 miles this occurred over. About 15 minutes later I turned on the key and the dash displayed "Brake system failure 43 mph top speed", "Service ESC", and "Service trailer brake system". I believe the braking system, and potentially the ABS, malfunctioned. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the vehicle did not stop as expected, and I had limited control over the vehicle's movement. This could have resulted in a collision. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. This is the first time it has happened. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, the vehicle and its components have not been inspected by anyone regarding this issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. In 11/2024, I started experiencing intermittent noises coming from the engine compartment of my 2011 Toyota Prius. The initial sound resembled the buzzing noise generated when first starting the vehicle. Then the noise started to persist for extended periods after the vehicle was turned off. It would oscillate between buzzing for approximately 10 seconds & remaining dormant for about 1 minute, re
... peating this cycle. The duration of these cycles could extend for up to 20 minutes. Concurrently, I experienced several instances where the brake pedal would abruptly become stiff & difficult to press. Notably, no warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard. Recognizing these symptoms as unusual, I conducted online research and discovered that the issue could potentially stem from a malfunction in the “brake booster pump and assembly.” Given the potential for a loss of braking power and the risk of personal/public safety, I scheduled a diagnostic inspection at Toyota of Poway, Poway, CA, on 12/18/2024. It confirmed the presence of a problem with the brake booster pump and associated components. In light of this diagnosis, I made the decision to refrain from driving the vehicle until the repairs were completed. The repair costs amounted to $3,475.47. I found I had received a notification from Toyota’s Customer Support Program, designated as “Customer Support Program Notification-ZJB.” This notification explicitly acknowledged this defect & provided a repair coverage policy that stipulated a coverage policy of which I’m no longer entitled to. Despite not meeting the eligibility criteria for the repair coverage program, I am deeply troubled by the fact that this recognized defect persists in vehicles currently on the road, such as mine, without any corresponding recall action and subsequent repair costs covered by Toyota. Fortunately, I was spared from any accidents as a direct consequence of this issue. Many similar complaints here support this dangerous issue!Read more

My Brakes almost caused me to crash on Jan 18th. I'm driving down the highway and traffic comes to a complete stop. I started braking but my abs, stability control and brake light come on. When this occurred I had to push the brakes to the floor just to stop. My brakes were very unsafe and unpredictable. I had to drive way below the speed limit to make it home, keeping at least 8 car lengths betwe
... en me. I inspected the vehicle when I made it home. Their is noise coming from the driver side firewall. Something is consistently turning on and off and a slight click after each cycle, every 5 seconds approximately. I was told that it was my abs pump or brake actuator. This is unacceptable and dangerous to all consumers. The fact there was no warning that occurred in a safer environment. I'm so thankful my kid wasn't driving it. Why isn't this a recall? I don't understand how something this dangerous is not a factor to the consumers. I have researched and found many cases that consumers have had a similar issue. This issue is not like brake pads. Their is a clear warning when its time to change brake pads. I honestly would like to see toyota to fix this issue.Read more

I have called the dealerships in Fresno Ca and Clovis Ca asked them to check out my car because of all the recalls that were done by them I'm having problems with it or had to replace it again. ABS module/hcu failure Jan 13, 2025. No indication of problem prior to failure. I pulled up to a stoplight that was on a hill and tried to put on the brake. The brake pedal was highly resistant and wouldn’t let me push down fully. At that moment, all of the warning lights on the dashboard turned on. When the light turned green, I tried to hit the gas pedal but the car wouldn’t move forward. The car started rolling backward and I almost collided with the car behind me. I h
... ad to stomp on the brake as hard as I could to get the vehicle to stop. I then had to put on my hazards, put the car in park, turn it off, and turn it back on again before the vehicle worked like normal. My spouse said he’s had the same thing happen to him twice in the past year. Each time, the brakes and accelerator pedal freeze up and all the warning lights come on. But after turning the car off and on again, it goes back to normal. I don’t think this is a battery problem because the car battery is less than one year old.Read more

The ABS Control Module has failed. This module controls the ABS, TCS, Cruise Control and leaves the BRAKE light on on the dash. This problem has been diagnosed by the dealership. The part has been discontinued by MOPAR and there are currently no indications of inventory being replenished by a MOPAR part manufacturer or 3rd party manufacturer. Without this, the vehicle no longer has required s

There has been no indication of a potential solution by the manufacturer. Through repeated attempts to contact Stellantis about this issue, no guidance has been given, only "we're sorry" and "continue to wait for part availability." This issue needs escalation as the manufacturer is not showing, in good faith, that there is something being done to resolve the supply issue and is acting as they are content with the vehicle being in a less than safe state.Read more

When car has been stopped, in traffic or parking lot, the parking/emergency brake has engaged automatically (NOT engaged manually or intentionally by driver) and will not disengage automatically when accelerator is pressed to go forward. The issue has occurred one time since the dealer inspection. The red light on the emergency break switch (console) comes on when this occurs, but no prior warning lamps or messages.Read more

The ABS modulator has failed. It's a common issue with 2014 Honda Accords and they should be recalled for it. It causes all of the dash lights to come on and so you won't know when there is an actual issue with your car because all of the lights are on all of the time until you can get it repaired. Also your anti lock brakes could fail. I bought this car brand new in 2014. It has less than 80k
