When the auto stop feature turns on, the car totally stops, and doesn't turn the engine back on for 20 minutes. I had complained about this before, and the mechanic did NOT fix it, so I am complaining AGAIN! I was in the middle of the street when it stalled! The steering wheel and brake locks up, and it's impossible for the engine to turn on. It revs, but doesn't work. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

driving in parking lot towards exit to turn onto street. speed approximately 10 - 15 mph. I applied the brakes when approaching the stop sign at the intersection. The brakes shuddered hard and the vehicle did not slow or stop. I let off the brakes and immediately hard pressed the brake peddle to attempt to stop the vehicle before entering the intersection and on coming traffic. The vehicle
... then stopped with the nose of the vehicle in the intersection. The brakes failed again. This was the 2nd time today I had an issue. The road surface was dry and the temp was in the 60's. There was no impact/contact with any other vehicle, but it was once again very close to having a wreck. The vehicle was at Hyundai for almost 90 days for the same issue late last year and into 2025. Hyundai repeatedly said there was a software update coming, but that never happened and they ultimately said there was no issue, no update, and come get the vehicle. I will be taking the vehicle back to Hyundia today. There are "NO" warning lights, faults, or any other indicator of a failure.Read more

Driving on a 4 lane street at approximately 25 mph in the right hand lane next to curb when another vehicle swerved from the left lane into my lane. I slammed on the brakes in an attempt to stop and avoid any contact with the other vehicle. All the brakes did was a hard and long shudder, and did not seem to even slow my car let alone stop the car. Fortunately, the other vehicle attempting to sw
... erve into my lane stopped. My vehicle never stopped and only seemed to slow down slightly. All I could do was to move my vehicle more towards the curb. At the time, I did not feel any impact and assumed no contact or damage. The other driver continued down the road and got onto the highway. When I got to a place to stop, I looked at my vehicle and do have damage to the left rear wheel well trim and back quarter fender area. My car would not stop. It felt as the ABS system was modulating hard. The road was dry, and the temp was in the mid 60's. This is not the first issue like this, and Hyundai says there is no problem and they will not fix it. The last time I took into the shop for this, it was there almost 90 days before Hyundai said come get the vehicle.Read more

024 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Ultimate, which has suffered: •Five catastrophic engine failures at highway speeds. •Total brake failure, leaving the truck unable to stop. •Severe electrical malfunctions, including flickering headlights at night. •Retaliatory actions from General Motors after I refused to waive my legal rights. I have documented proof, including GM’s own service records, ema

Additionally, I have evidence that GM executives instructed technicians to conduct diagnostics, take apart the engine, and reassemble it—but NOT repair the defect—after I refused to sign an affidavit waiving my rights. Due to these failures, I suffered a dislocated shoulder in one of the incidents, and my [XXX] daughter remains traumatized to this day. Given the immediate danger this defect poses to other GMC Sierra 2500 owners, I respectfully request that NHTSA open an investigation and consider issuing a recall before a tragedy occurs. 1. Engine Failures Since 3,000 Miles – GM’s Own Work Orders Confirm Issue Since purchasing my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Ultimate, I have experienced five catastrophic engine failures, all occurring while traveling at highway speeds (70 mph): •The truck suddenly lost power, dropping from 70 mph to 5-10 mph within seconds. •This created an immediate risk of being rear-ended or losing control on the highway. •GM’s own service records confirm that my engine issues began at just 3,000 miles. •GM dealerships misdiagnosed the issue FOUR TIMES, returning my truck to me in an unsafe condition. •The real cause was only identified after the FIFTH failure, when a GM-certified head technician finally determined that GM had installed the wrong computer module (1500 series instead of 2500 series). My 2024 Subaru Ascent started experiencing brake issues in early January. The car would shake heavily and make noise when braking, despite having only 10,500 miles. Concerned, I contacted Subaru of America and was advised to take it to a dealership for an inspection. On 1/31/25, the dealer inspected the brakes and determined that the front rotors and brake pads needed to be replaced. Subaru of Am
... erica confirmed that the dealer would order new parts for the front brakes. A few days later, I received an email from the dealership stating that the new rotors and brake pads had arrived, and they scheduled me for service on 2/14/25. However, after waiting at the dealership for three hours, I was informed that instead of replacing the rotors as initially promised, they had simply resurfaced them. The explanation given was that these were already “upgraded” rotors. This raises serious concerns for me—if these rotors were already upgraded, why did they fail before 10,000 miles? This is a clear safety issue, and I am increasingly worried that both Subaru of America and the dealership are not properly addressing the situation. I was supposed to receive brand-new rotors, yet I am now left with resurfaced ones, which does not give me confidence in my vehicle’s safety. I need a proper resolution to this issue. Potentially Subaru America should issue a safety recall for these breaks.Read more

On Friday, February 14. 2025 at approximately 9:05 am I was leaving a parking lot to make a right hand turn on to a busy three lane road. Since this issue with the brakes has occurred three times previously I make it a point to drive no more than 10 mph in parking lots. The pavement was dry, then there was a 3 foot patch of thin ice, then the pavement was dry to the stop sign at the road. I presse
... d the brake pedal well in advance of the patch of ice and once the tires contacted the ice, the brake pedal pulsated harshly causing my vehicle to shake. This situation caused me to be unable to stop at the sign and I almost got broadsided. This is the third complaint I’ve filed regarding this matter. This is the fourth occurrence of the brakes acting in an abnormal manner (since June 2024) and whatever is occurring is terrifying. The dealership claimed it couldn’t replicate the issue and no warming sounds or lights appeared on my dashboard. I fear for my life, my spouse and children’s lives, as well as pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists. Someone is going to get seriously injured or potentially killed because of this issue, therefore, I have to petition the agency to look into this matter in depth and hopefully open an investigation.Read more

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Specifically, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in my vehicle, which has become increasingly distracting and, frankly, dangerous due to an incomplete or failed 2.2 Over-The-Air (OTA) update is a huge concern. As a responsible driver,
... I value the safety of not only myself but also those around me, and this situation and others we constantly hear about make me question the process of the recall. Every week, a number of vehicles are reported as undrivable post-OTA updates, with statistics indicating that approximately 2%-5% of owners experience this issue. Owner surveys suggest that comprehensive updates, which should resolve these issues, have been successfully completed in under 30% of vehicles which were attempted. Additionally, the alarming figures shared indicate that only around 10% of the fleet has been updated in over five weeks, despite submitting over 800 Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) and my VIN is not one of them. This inefficiency raises serious questions about the reliability of the process. Other safety issues include random indoor reading lights lite up randomly during driving (specially during night) really a concern and they don't turn off. The ADAS feature very premature suddenly disengages features, the scariest of all it resistive braking. I was almost met with an accident. Furthermore, the fact that there are only approximately 20 service personnel available nationwide, with a mere five traveling to assist customers whose cars are rendered undrivable, is simply unacceptable. This lack of support exacerbates an already troubling situation. I urge you to address these issues promptly and transparently. I hope to see improvements regarding the ADAS system and entire process of the OTA safety recalls. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.Read more

I am experiencing an Antilock Braking System ('ABS') control module software malfunction that disables the Electronic Stability Control ('ESC') system. Last fall Sept 2024 was the first incident. I was driving back one night to my cabin construction project in Somerset, PA. It rained earlier in the day and everything was wet. I was almost back to the site, my dash lights started wildly flashing. T
... he ESC SYSTEM OFF displayed, the (ABS) light illuminated along with SERVICE THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. The front passenger side tire started to shake, just as I was trying to avoid a large pothole around a bend. My truck slid straight across it and slammed my front end down in the ditch. I had NO CONTROL. It caused my side airbags to deploy and the seatbelts to lock up. I drove out of the ditch, the truck was ok. I was close so i drove to the cabin. The next morning I inspected everything, in addition: the front bumper was bent, fog light hanging, wheel well was bent, and there were a lot of scratches. I am a small business owner, I didn't want my insurance to go up, and was waiting until I could afford to fix it. The latest incidents were during the last two weeks. First, I was driving on a 70 MPH highway, suddenly service air pressure system displayed and passenger tire pressure went to “0”, the ABS and ESC warnings displayed, and that tire started shaking. I pulled over to check the tire thinking I had a flat , but it was fully inflated. I turned off the truck, waited 5 mins then started it back up, "fixed" then drove home. Since then, the truck is randomly locking that brake, while I'm driving. THREE separate times it has locked up. I thought I was dragging something one day as I was backing up. Next day I was backing out of my driveway quickly and it caused me to slide into the road. I test drove away slowly, seemed fine. I went through the three stop signs to get out of my plan. It locked up at the third stop sign, as i turned right almost threw me into the sign.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding serious safety issues with my vehicle. After a recent 180-mile trip, the car initially functioned without issue during local driving. However, on the morning of February 16, 2025, I encountered multiple warning messages at startup, including "Service Brake Assist," "One Pedal Driving Unavailable, Use Brake for Stopping," and "AUTO HOLD Unavailable." These w
... arnings indicate potential braking system failures, which raise major concerns about the vehicle’s safety and reliability. Additionally, several key safety features became inoperable, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Acura Watch 360 (Supercruise). These features are critical for safe highway driving, and their unexpected failure compromises the vehicle’s performance and driver assistance capabilities. The fact that these systems became nonfunctional without warning creates a hazardous driving condition. Further compounding my concerns, the vehicle emits an electric, clicking sound when the brake pedal is depressed. This noise originates from under the dashboard near the steering column and suggests a possible malfunction in the braking or electronic control systems. Given the nature of these warnings and the potential risk of brake system failure, I am deeply concerned that the vehicle is unsafe to drive. I am seeking immediate resolution and will be bringing the car in for service as soon as possible. I urge the NHTSA to investigate these issues, as they pose a significant risk to drivers, passengers, and others on the road. Please advise on any next steps or potential recalls related to these failures. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

Inability to have Recall Work Completed and Fees Being Charged for Recall Work I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Multiple attempts of this safety recall have been scheduled over the past several weeks for my vehicle, but the update has yet to be completed. As an owner who values
... safety and reliability, I am increasingly concerned about the unresolved safety issues that were supposed to be addressed with this software update. To date, I have been disappointed to learn that each week brings reports from fellow vehicle owners indicating that their cars have become undrivable following these updates, with a concerning failure rate of approximately 2% to 5%. I have purchased a new battery and battery tender to address my vehicle from "bricking" from these OTA updates after reading many 12V have failed during the process. This is unacceptable for any customer who relies on their vehicle for daily transportation. Additionally, the lengthy 48-hour windows during which our cars become unusable only exacerbate the frustration and inconvenience faced by owners. The expectation of partial updates, followed by yet another potential 48-hour downtime, is not a practical solution. Furthermore, the feedback from owner surveys suggests that complete updates, which should ideally resolve these issues, have only succeeded in under 30% of attempted vehicles. This raises serious questions about the efficacy of the OTA update process and its implementation. As such, I and many others have turned to hiring a mobile technician to manually load the software updates. I have had to also do the same for the water pump recall. I should not have to pay $1700 in travel expenses and $250 more to have the software updated. Also, the $170 reimbursement rate being paid by American Leasing for water pump replacement is below the market rate. The market rate is $250-$260.Read more

We own a 2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid and are having problems with it "lunging forward" when applying the brake. This has happened multiply times. The first is when I was pulling very slowly into the garage because the car just fits through the door having only inches to spare on either side of the side view mirrors. As I was lightly applying the brake, the car LUNGED FORWARD, the word BRAKE in bold r
... ed letters appeared on the dashboard (The Forward Collision Warning) and the car jerked to a stop by itself avoiding hitting the back wall. It happened in a split second. No damage, no injuries. Not so the second time. On Feb 13, 2025, we were going to a local business. My husband was in the front passenger seat. We pulled into the parking lot and I turned right into the parking space. As I lightly applied the brake, the car violently LUNGED FORWARD hitting the cement post supporting the building. "No Forward Collision Warning light this time".There was a loud bang noise and both the driver, upper and lower and passenger airbags were deployed. The seatbelts jolted us back to our seats and locked up. There was smoke and a nasty smell (from the airbags). This all happened in a split second. I couldn't open the door, so I had to crawl over the console with help from my husband to get out of the car. I was taken to the ER by ambulance to get x-rays of my chest which was badly bruised and my ankle which was also bruised. My husband escaped injuries but was in shock as well. Since this happened, we have done research on the Internet and found numerous complaints and instances of this same thing happening to drivers when gently applying the brakes, particularly in TOYOTA hybrid vehicles. Many people narrowly escaping severe injuries and death in similar situations. I guess it has to take a few fatalities for Toyota to do something about it. What a shame! The insurance co. totaled the car. We won't be getting another Toyota.Read more

I have experienced a persistent brake vibration issue since I first acquired my 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron in December 2023. The vehicle has required two full brake rotor and pad replacements within 12,000 miles, which is highly abnormal and suggests a fundamental defect in the braking system. Audi North Miami acknowledged the issue and replaced the rotors and pads under warranty in October 2024. However
... , just four months later (February 2025), the exact same issue reoccurred, and now Audi is refusing to cover the repairs, claiming it is normal wear and tear. Brakes are a critical safety component, and the fact that a luxury SUV requires two full brake replacements in such a short period raises serious concerns about engineering defects or improper installation. This defect increases stopping distances and affects braking performance, putting the driver, passengers, and others at risk. I urge NHTSA to investigate whether the Audi Q8 e-tron braking system is defective and if other consumers have reported similar failures. This is a serious safety issue that should not be ignored."Read more

I recently 6 weeks ago bought a used certified 2016 Toyota Corolla with 43,000 miles. I have been going back and forth with Toyota since the day after I bought it about the many mechanical issues that pose a major safety risk. The car shudders/vibrates when accelerating, knocks when backing up. And when making turns the car shifts hard side to side with a shudder and wobble in floor board of car.
... It feels as if you don’t have control of the vehicle when driving. It has lots of loose play in the front end and steering really the whole car. It also has a problem going up hill and jumping on fwy a major problem accelerating. They keep telling me car is working per design but this is a lie. I have taken it to 2 other mechanics who told me this car has major issues safety ones to take it back. Toyota fixed the control arms stating that might be what it is but the same problems remain. I am afraid to drive this vehicle and they refuse to figure out the problems and fix them. 2 days after buying it I told them take the car back it has too many mechanical issues they refused. I don’t know what to do I cannot continue driving this car like this and in the rain it could barely handle also. The car has a feeling of loss of control like the whole frame of car is loose. I need help and don’t know what else to do I’ve taken the car back to them about 15 times. They continue to lie and say nothing is wrong even though when I test drove it with the head mechanic. He admitted the car has major issues but told me he did not want to get involved and I would have to take it up with management. I traded in my 2011 suv that was in good working order to buy this smaller car so my daughter could also learn to drive. They should have never sold this vehicle with this many mechanical safety issues please help.Read more

I drove the car to my destination without any issues. An hour later, when I restarted the vehicle to leave, the following dashboard lights were on (slip indicator, ABS warning light, and brake system warning light). When I drove the vehicle, the brakes had diminished stopping power. It took farther for the vehicle to come to a full stop when applying the brakes. When we had it checked by the T

As a responsible driver, I
... value the safety of not only myself but also those around me, and this situation and others we constantly hear about make me question the process of the recall. Every week, a number of vehicles are reported as undrivable post-OTA updates, with statistics indicating that approximately 2%-5% of owners experience this issue. With 48-hour update windows, my vehicle becomes unusable for an extended period, which is highly inconvenient and concerning. Moreover, I've noted that partial updates are expected, potentially extending this downtime by another 48 hours. I have had a partial update that has left my vehicle in worse shape than before, what could happen if the process is tried again? This inconsistent performance is not only frustrating, but also poses a serious inconvenience to scheduling and executing such a process.Owner surveys suggest that comprehensive updates, which should resolve these issues, have been successfully completed in under 30% of vehicles which were attempted. Additionally, the alarming figures shared indicate that only around 10% of the fleet has been updated in over five weeks, despite submitting over 800 Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). This inefficiency raises serious questions about the reliability of the process. Furthermore, the fact that there are only approximately 20 service personnel available nationwide, with a mere five traveling to assist customers whose cars are rendered undrivable, is simply unacceptable. This lack of support exacerbates an already troubling situation. Given these circumstances, I urge you to address these issuesRead more

Driving 65mph and the steering wheel locked up and the brakes weren’t working as they should. Check engine light came on. Was able to pull off the road. Shut off vehicle for awhile. Then it worked as it should. No repairs at this time but sounds like it will continue to happen.
