The brakes stopped working on September of 2024. I had to slam the emergency brake pedal to come to a stop. I slid into a ditch which caused autobody damage. A mechanic told me the ABS no longer works on my truck. He gave me this code: C2200. He said it defines the ABS module has failed. CONCERN: Volvo cars’ sunroofs are negligently designed, allowing sunroof drain obstructions to flood the vehicle’s internal electronics. This results in catastrophic and simultaneous system failures, including brake loss, airbag failure, and disabled traction control—posing an extreme and imminent safety risk. SUMMARY OF EVENTS: While driving at speed, I received a “BRAKE FAILURE / PLEASE
... STOP SAFELY” warning, followed by “ABS / ESC” and “SRS Airbag” failure messages. This led to a sudden and dangerous loss of braking power and airbag system failure, forcing me to pull over in an emergency maneuver. Diagnostics confirmed that water leaked into the car’s critical electronic systems via the sunroof. Like other manufacturers, Volvo sunroofs degrade over time and require drainage. However, Volvo’s design is fatally flawed—clogged drains lead to direct water ingress into the electronics, causing total vehicle system failure while in motion. No warning is provided before catastrophic failure occurs. This is not an isolated case. An identical failure occurred in our second Volvo (2020 V90 Cross Country), owned and operated in California. This proves a systematic design defect—the same critical safety failure occurred in two separate vehicles, in different environments, under identical circumstances. I am deeply alarmed by Volvo’s negligent sunroof drainage design, which puts drivers and the public at severe risk of fatal system failures. I am reporting this to NHTSA because I believe this fundamental design flaw in Volvo sunroofs endangers lives and demands urgent regulatory action. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety issue.Read more

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. The experience I had with my Fisker vehicle following the 2.2 Over-the-Air (OTA) update attempt left my vehicle undrivable. This is leaving me in an inconvenient and frustrating situation. As a result, I will have to incur additional expenses to
... have the necessary safety updates completed to restore my vehicle's functionality. This is far from the experience that I expected when signing up for a free mandated safety recall. I understand that a significant percentage of vehicles (approximately 2%-5%) have become undrivable--like mine--following these updates. This situation is alarming and raises concerns about the reliability of the updates being delivered. According to owner surveys, it appears that complete updates—which include all necessary corrections—have been accomplished in less than 30% of cases. Furthermore, I was surprised to learn that only about 10% of the fleet (approximately 300 vehicles) had been updated after several weeks of attempts, despite over 800 VINs submitted for this process. This statistic raises questions about the efficiency and effectiveness of the OTA process. Lastly, I am deeply concerned about the limited number of service personnel available in the U.S., with only around 20 individuals servicing the entire country and merely 5 traveling nationwide to assist customers with undriveable vehicles. This scarcity is unacceptable and leads to extended wait times for necessary repairs and updates. I urge you to address these issues promptly, putting more vehicles in danger of becoming undrivable because of the safety recall process being flawed. It is imperative that this process is reviewed and the underlying safety concerns that have left many of us feeling unsupported and frustrated are resolved in a manner that will be free of cost and successful to the majority of owners. Thank you!Read more

My entire ADAS system is unreliable and I get constant warnings for various features including, but not limited to Adaptive Cruise, Collision warnings, emergency breaking, lane keeping, etc. Additionally, I still have a very common issue when braking on a broken surface where the car lurches forward. Hello! I started financing my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek in 04/2023. A month after that date, I had a head gasket issue. Then in 2024, a radiator cap deformed after going to the dealer to get an oil change at SF Honda. (The time on that was suspicious being that I didn’t touch that cap at all.) so I had to pay for that repair. Now in 2025, after getting an oil change at Subaru, a day after that oil c
... hange, a lot of lights came onto my dashboard. I have two diagnosis reports from other places because I didn’t have the money to pay Subaru $300 to “diagnose” the issue, especially after my car just came from there a day before the problem existed. Since I got into this vehicle, I’ve been suspicious whether or not it’s safe for me, reason also being, I found out in 2024, that this car has been into 5 wrecks. Which I was NOT aware of prior. And now, they are making me feel, there is NOTHING they can do, unless I have a Co-signer, or the approved “credit” score. And now that my vehicle has “7” recalls! I am hoping I can get out of this vehicle. Thanks!Read more

Incident date: Aug 1, 2024
Prior to a recall-mandated update of the vehicle's operating system, I received numerous (daily) ADAS warning lights and sounds. Regen braking often (2-3 times per week) jerked the car abruptly. Additionally, the ADAS lane-keeping process was jerky. The vehicle was evaluated by an over-the-air (OTA) team and determined to be ready for an OTA update, which occurred from 11/11/ to 11/12/2024. This u
... pdate was managed by an OTA team that was mandated and funded by these NHTSA recalls: 24V865000 (Regen Braking OTA-2.2), 24V405000 (Warning Lights OTA-2.1), and 24V404000 (MCU/VCU Loss of Power OTA-2.1). The OTA update only partially loaded, with the vehicle was at OS 2.2 (2/3) and inoperable for 2 months, from 11/12/2024 through 01/12/2025. I made numerous attempts for support during this time, with communication via the Fisker Owners Association but no information from the OTA team. After I replaced the 12V battery, two recharges, and a remote tech support, the vehicle's electrical system was again available to receive an additional OTA update yet not operable. With limited notice, the vehicle received some of the missing components of OS 2.2 on 01/23/2025, at which point the vehicle was operational again. Though at this time the key fob only connects as an NFC device, with the potential risk of the key losing security connections while driving (and thus turning off, mid-drive). This has not occurred but a technician has noted this risk and I now "velcro" the key to the NFC port while driving. I have yet to receive two additional recall repairs: 24V499000 (Water pump), 24V466000 (Door Handles). I have an appointment with a former Fisker technician who has stated that I will need to pay him directly for the service time for replacing the water pump, and then seek reimbursement from the managers of the mandatory recall.Read more

After 22,207 mi, the right rear wheel unit started making a clunking similar to a flat tire. I looked online and found TSB 22-2023 which states that a common problem with the Mach E one pedal driving is brake pad material gets fused to the rotor. I took it in for repair and the brakes are out of warranty after 18000mi. Average life of brake rotors FOR CARS THAT USE THEIR BRAKES is 30,000-70,000mi.
... If Ford knowingly continues to use brake components that become faulty and fail after such.a short time on cars that don’t regularly use brakes, this problem could cause serious brake failure in cases of emergent braking. One pedal users would not know their brake pads had fused to the rotors until too late and the braking system fails when they need it.Read more

This happened on 2/18/2023. After I charged my car at a local supercharging station, I drove on the local roads for about 2 miles when the car started shutting down. I had to go through the app. My dad came and we found a Youtube video that said to walk out of the car to let it restart. Looks like it happened to another owner. We did that and the car started functioning again. Not sure why it did this after a charge. But it happened again 3 mos later when I was on the freeway. Luckily, I knew what to do from prior experience. But I am mindful of this whenever I supercharge my car. I wait after charging to drive. This shouldn't be the case and Tesla should tell people of this issue. I tried to tell Tesla service when I went in for another repair but they ignored my comments.Read more

As I was driving back home from the airport on [XXX] both front brakes started smoking and my vehicle became noticeably difficult to drive. At the same time an ABS brake warning light came on as well. Although the vehicle was more difficult to drive I drove slower to prevent a crash & arrive home. On [XXX] I brought my vehicle into Midas Sarasota where they diagnosed a failed brake hydraulic contr
... ol unit (HCU,ABS pump). In addition Midas stated that the failed hydraulic control unit damaged both front calipers causing them to stick which is why my brakes were smoking. Midas also stated that the failed HCU caused damage to the mesh in my brake lines and that they had to be replaced. As a result of the failed HCU Midas had to install a new HCU, install new front calipers on both sides, and install new brake lines for a total cost of $1600.00 A few weeks after I had my vehicle repaired for this issue I received a recall letter from Stellantis for this issue. Since I had already had the repair completed I submitted a copy of my repair order and proof of payment to www.fcarecallreimbursement.com, Reference number [XXX]. A customer service agent - Ronald emailed me several times and reviewed by reimbursement request and stated that my claim was approved for $1342 for reimbursement. I questioned Ronald about why Stellantis would not pay for the full amount of $1600 because both front calipers and my brake lines were damaged as a result of the failed HCU unit. Ronald simply stated in his email that he could only approve repair charged for the failed HCU. I explained to Ronald that the HCU failure caused irreparable damage to both front calipers and to the mesh in my brake lines as shown on page 2 of the Midas Repair order that I sent him. I explained to Ron that if Stellantis has a part recall that causes damage to other vehicle components then Stellantis is responsible for the costs of all repairs, NOT just the recalled part. When coming to a stop at various speeds the car will sometimes surge during the braking process. It feels like either a brief acceleration or a release of the brakes. It then continues to brake as normal. It is an intermittent issue and can occur when coming to a slow stop or at faster stops. It started in November of 2023, and started happening only once a week or so. As time went on, it became m
... ore frequent until it was happening several times a day. By the summer of 2024, the Toyota dealership was finally able to replicate it, and they fixed it with a “computer update” as best I understood. The problem was fixed for a while but began again a few months later. The frequency at this time , early 2025, is every 1-2 days. I have returned multiple times to Toyota, and they have no fix since they have not been able to replicate it this time. I have pointed out to them that they did replicate it when they had previously fixed it. This issue presents a danger when the driver is coming to a stop. The first time it happened my reaction was to move my foot to the accelerator and I jumped a small curb. Although I am prepared now for this to happen, it is possible my instinctive reaction could happen again, resulting in a collision or injury. There are multiple forums and I see multiple complaints on this website, but I see no investigation cases. Please help me understand why this safety issue has not been investigated.Read more

I decided to stop at the "new" Tesla dealer in Bernalillo (I got my car in Santa Fe) and ask about the automatic breaking and whether they'd fixed it. The 2 service employees looked at each other and one said "No". I then asked about whether I needed to re-boot my key card since my screen went blank while I was in CO, during a snow storm, parked. I luckily had my phone and on the Tesla App, under Roadside Service, it gave me the option to re-boot the screen! I did so. The serviceman said he didn't think the blank screen had anything to do with my key card, but I could re-boot it if I want to.
