2023 Subaru Ascent, under manufacturer basic warranty. Factory OEM battery has repeatedly failed. Voltage drops below 11.5V in normal use. Three documented failures in six weeks. SAFETY INCIDENT: Vehicle died on a public street and became completely immobilized. Brake warning light activated. Vehicle would not move even after a jump start. Passengers had to exit in a live traffic lane. A second
... vehicle was used to transport a replacement battery. The original battery is in my possession and available for inspection. A subsequent failure occurred when the original battery was reinstalled for a manufacturer-required diagnostic. Vehicle again would not start. KNOWN DEFECT: Subaru TSB 07-213-22R (revised 03/28/24) covers the 2023-24 Ascent battery and acknowledges the factory specification as inadequate, directing dealers to replace the battery, tray, cover, and holding rod with higher-capacity parts. This TSB was not proactively applied to my vehicle. The dealer did not identify or disclose it at earlier service visits where the battery concern was reported and "could not be reproduced." No recall or proactive owner notification has been issued. Dealers are not applying the TSB preventively. A complaint is open with Subaru of America Customer Advocacy. The manufacturer has declined to reimburse the out-of-pocket emergency replacement and has required a dealer diagnostic that has been repeatedly blocked by manufacturer/dealer procedural requirements.Read more

Why are you letting Ram go on with problem and only going back to 2025?. It's ridiculous for them to slide and not repair a problem tht has been going on for years. And Ram dealers want $2300 to $3000 to repair.

My 2018 Ram 2500 was involved in a collision with another vehicle. The vehicle in front of me had to slam on their brakes for an object in the roadway. There was no shoulder to pull off to and oncoming vehicles in the other lane.
... There was no way out of the collision. If the ABS system had worked properly, my vehicle and the vehicle in front if me would not have collided. The faulty component is the Hydraulic Power Unit for the Antilock Braking System. My 2010 Prius has experienced the following error codes: C12341 and C1391, prompting the dealer to recommend replacing the brake booster assembly and master cylinder for $3938.89. This is a known issue with this vehicle and a Customer Support Program (CSP) was issued back in 2018, stating that if this vehicle displayed these codes, the repairs would be at no charge to the customer. Toyota extended
... this coverage to 10 years from date of first use or 150,000 miles (whichever came first). I never receied the notice. The details of the CSP are below. (I found on the internet.) "Toyota has received reports indicating various brake system related warning lamps illuminate due to internal malfunctions. The Brake Booster and Brake Booster Pump are covered by Toyota’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first). However, because we at Toyota care about each customer’s ownership experience, Toyota is now offering a voluntary Customer Support Program that applies to various brake system related warning lamps of covered vehicles as a result of internal malfunctions, regardless of whether the vehicle is out of warranty. The timing of any repair under this voluntary Customer Support Program is subject to parts availability. The Customer Support Program will be offered for all vehicles until November 30, 2019, regardless of mileage. In addition, the Customer Support Program will be available for 10 years from the date of first use, or 150,000 miles whichever occurs first." My vehicle has about 132,000 miles and just displayed theses codes. Since it is 16 years old, the CSP has expired. It being a known issue, and one related to such a safety concern, I emplore you to make this a formal recall rather than a mere suggestion of repair. Back in 2018, my vehicle was not displaying these codes so was ineligible for the repair. Upon further research I am finding hundreds of Prius owners with the same issue. I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with 180,000 miles. I never off road the vehicle, but after driving on a dirt road, the stability control kicked in during a turn. At the start of the next drive after that, there were 3 lights on the dashboard: brake, ABS, stability control. Connecting the JScan app to the vehicle, the ABS module is completely unresponsive and the vehicle gives a C2200 error code.
... There were no symptoms of this issue before this event. This vehicle is available to be inspected any time. Lack of ABS is a very dangerous safety concern, as neither of my children have ever had to drive a vehicle without ABS. After some research, this seems to be a very common problem. After some age and heat cycles, the electronics in the module become weak, and my single use of the Stability control apparently is enough to push the weak electronics over the edge and destroy the module. This has been confirmed through several companies who repair these modules, such as [XXX] , who no longer repairs these modules, apparently because the computer chips are no longer made, and I have heard stories about the chip maker going out of business during covid. It was also confirmed by a local Jeep specialist, and the dealer parts department also tells the same story, people have been waiting on this module for over 2 years now. A manufacturer of this size with this many vehicles affected by such a safety issue should step up and commission another chip manufacturer to make these vehicles road worthy again. I am reporting a documented and unresolved brake system safety issue on my 2024 Kia K5 involving repeated premature brake pad wear and rotor damage. The vehicle has required three full brake pad and rotor replacements by approximately 40,000 miles, with each set lasting less than 15,000 miles. Service records consistently document uneven wear on the front brakes, particularly the outer pads, with
... up to a 4 mm difference between sides. This has resulted in one side reaching metal-to-metal contact while the opposing side retained usable material. This pattern has repeated across multiple brake replacements. This condition creates a braking imbalance that affects vehicle control. The vehicle exhibits pulling under braking and changes in steering alignment, indicating uneven braking force across the front axle. Braking performance can degrade rapidly, transitioning from normal operation to reduced stopping effectiveness without sufficient warning. Despite these documented conditions, the dealership and manufacturer, including escalation through Kia customer care and technical support, have been unable to identify a root cause. The condition has been classified as “within normal range,” and warranty coverage has been denied. The vehicle has been returned to service multiple times without corrective action. It has been acknowledged that the wear pattern is not typical, yet no defect has been identified. This creates a contradiction and uncertainty regarding the vehicle’s ability to safely perform under normal operating conditions. Due to rapid wear progression and lack of warning before significant degradation, there is limited opportunity to service the vehicle before braking performance is affected. This results in continued operation with a recurring braking imbalance. I request this be reviewed as a safety defect due to repeated loss of braking consistency, impact on vehicle control, and increased risk of reduced stopping performance or crash.Read more

My wife's vehicle has a "Infotainment screen" (dashboard touch screen). There is a class action suit (CSP13d dealer letter) for issues regarding the screen performing tasks (Ghost screening touch) on its own. In lieu of a Mazda vehicle mass recall, they agreed to "FIX" the issue with a software update and replace the CMU Module of the vehicle to rectify this issue. I am here to report / advise
... you that MANY Mazda owners are NOT happy and have taken it upon themselves to disconnect these screens and do other "work around self repairs (removing/ disabling the unit) in order to fix the issues that occur. I have directly contacted Mazda in regards to my issues and they stat they can ONLY do what was advised on the court ordered settlement and NOTHING more to fix the issue. I want to advise you first hand, their FIX for this issue does NOT fix the problems. In fact, it is making it much worse! NOW my wife's vehicle is operating this screen by itself, WHILE driving, creating a MAJOR distraction. This "Ghost Touching" is actually going into the braking system settings and trying to change/ alter them AS she is driving! A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. She has had to, on several occasions, pull over /off the road, shut down the vehicle and try to "reset" what has occurred and check her system for ANY altered setting..if possible. As a retired Police Officer, I can tell you first had that if we ever encountered such thing/ safety issues reported by drivers, we would NOT allow them to travel any further with the vehicle and have it safely towed to a dealer or mechanic for repair. For their safety as well as the rest of the publics safety!! Mazda has refused to fully fix this issue and you can even see on numerous social media posts of MANY others reporting similar issues, disabling their devices on their own and doing other work arounds to mute or disable their devices totally. I Implore you to do a FULL RECALL of ALL affected vehicles to fix the problem ASAP!Read more

Worsening and expanding in speed range over time. Impairs steering feedback — direct safety hazard at highway speed. Suspected wheel bearing or hub failure. No warning lamps present at any time. 3 — Braking: Violent vibration during heavy deceleration, downhill braking, and rapid stops. Severely impairs controlled stopping and risks loss of vehicle control. Consistent with rotor degradation per Toyota TSB (Nov. 2025, 2022–2026 Tundra). Repair history: OEM tires replaced at 20,000 miles — abnormal camber-induced outside shoulder wear. Toyota issued a Limited Service Campaign for this identical defect on 2022–2023 models but explicitly excluded 2024. All 4 tires replaced twice. Multiple alignments, balancings, and rotations performed at L&S Toyota, Beckley, WV (3+ dealer visits) and an independent tire chain (3+ visits). No resolution. Defect is mechanical, not tire-related. No DTCs or warning lights at any visit. Safety risk: Braking vibration risks loss of control on downgrades and emergency stops. Highway vibration impairs steering feedback over extended driving. Towing vibration creates trailer instability on public roads. The issue involves the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and hydraulic control unit on our 2017 Ram 3500. The recall states that the ABS module/hydraulic control unit may fail, which can impact braking performance and disable safety systems. The component has not been repaired because parts have been unavailable for over three years. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This defect
... creates a serious safety risk. The vehicle is primarily used to tow livestock, including horses, and loss or reduction of braking capability while towing could result in loss of control, increased stopping distance, or an accident involving occupants, other drivers, or transported animals. The problem has been confirmed by authorized Ram dealerships in Chehalis, Washington and Eureka, California. Both dealerships, as well as Ram customer care, have acknowledged the open recall and stated that no parts are available to complete the repair. The vehicle has not been physically inspected by the manufacturer for repair because no remedy has been available. It has not been involved in an accident related to this issue. Prior to the recall, there were no known warning messages or confirmed failures observed. However, the recall itself indicates a potential failure of the ABS system and braking components, which may occur without warning. The recall has remained unresolved for an unreasonable amount of time. The manufacturer has failed to provide a remedy for this safety-related defect within a reasonable time.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The issue involves the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and the transition between regenerative braking and friction braking in my Cadillac Lyriq (RWD). The ABS engages unexpectedly during normal braking conditions when using one-pedal driving. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How
... was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The unexpected ABS activation creates inconsistent and unpredictable braking behavior, including a pulsing sensation and reduced braking confidence. This affects the driver’s ability to modulate braking smoothly and predict stopping distance, increasing the risk of a collision, especially in normal traffic conditions where consistent braking response is critical. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue has been reproduced during multiple visits to authorized Cadillac dealerships. However, I have been told that the vehicle is “operating as designed,” despite the abnormal braking behavior. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by multiple authorized Cadillac dealerships and the issue has been escalated to General Motors. No resolution or fix has been provided to date. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There are no warning lights or messages associated with this issue. The problem occurs intermittently during normal driving conditions, particularly when transitioning from regenerative braking (one-pedal driving) to applying the brake pedal. The issue began shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle and has persisted since.Read more

Have a 2014 Ram 1500 that has a ABS malfunction light showing. Took truck in and dealership service department wanted $1500.00 for a new ABS module that has failed. The part has been on backorder from Mopar/Stellantis for months. I am glad I did not give them $1500.00 (+ future labor costs) to fix for something I have been calling the dealership for months on inventory status. My truck has bee
... n sitting in their possession for almost 10 months now, rendering me loss of my vehicle use for the entire time of 10 months. Ridiculous. I reached out to Ram Cares and filed a complaint. They have issues with the dealership returning calls as I have. Something is not right here. Again, this is a part on backorder for months that has failed according to dealership and truck is potentially unsafe to drive. I asked Ram Cares to verify if truck is road worthy to drive safely with the failed ABS module as is. Ram Cares still has communication issues with the dealership and even they are getting ignored. I am beyond frustrated and at a loss (literally) of not being able to use my truck for an excessive length of time. I filed a complaint also with the State of California BAR department and they said to file a complaint with you as well. The part number the dealership said I need is: abs module 68228991ADRead more

Vehicle: 2023 Kia Sportage Issue: Service Brakes / Premature Rotor Failure / Grinding Within approximately six months of purchasing my vehicle new, I experienced brake grinding and premature rotor failure. This condition has reoccurred multiple times despite repair attempts at authorized Kia dealerships, including rotor replacement under a Technical Service Bulletin. Multiple dealerships acknowled
... ged the issue. A Kia service manager advised that factory brake and rotor components are prone to premature failure and stated that reinstallation of original parts would likely result in recurrence. They recommended aftermarket brake components to correct the defect. Despite this acknowledgement, Kia America has failed to provide a permanent fix and continues to rely on reinstalling the same materials associated with repeated failures. The defect remains unresolved and presents an ongoing safety risk due to compromised braking performance. This issue appears consistent with known defect patterns affecting Kia Sportage vehicles manufactured between 2022–2024, with widespread consumer complaints reporting premature brake wear, grinding, vibration, and repeated rotor failure. I am submitting this complaint due to the safety implications of repeated brake failure, Kia’s failure to implement a corrective remedy, and the risk posed to drivers and the public.Read more

Recall Number: Ford 25S37 / NHTSA 25V236 Issue: Unresolved safety recall due to parts unavailability for over six weeks. My vehicle is affected by Ford Recall 25S37 / NHTSA Recall 25V236 involving brake master cylinder leakage and loss of front braking performance. I took my Ford truck to a dealership on March 2, 2026, for the recall notice, but the dealer has been unable to obtain the required pa
... rts for more than six weeks. They report the parts are on back order with no estimated availability from Ford. This delay has left my vehicle with a known safety defect that increases stopping distance and crash risk. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to provide a free remedy within a reasonable time, and a six week delay exceeds that standard. I have spoken now twice with Ford, and they have not provided repair, alternative transportation, replacement, or refund options I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance because Ford has failed to provide a timely remedy for a safety critical defect, and I am unable to get the recall completed due to Ford’s parts unavailability.Read more

Consumer Complaint Summary Nature of Dispute: Refusal to reimburse for safety-related recall repair (Recall 25S87). Summary: On April 6, 2026, my 2017 Ford Edge (VIN: [XXX] ) became undrivable due to a failure of the rear brake jounce hoses. This specific defect is the subject of Ford Safety Recall 25S87. Because the vehicle was a safety hazard, I paid $1,854.43 for an immediate repair at an auth
... orized Ford dealership. Despite the dealer successfully performing the repair, Ford Motor Company (Case #XXX-XXX) has refused my request for reimbursement and rental assistance. Ford claims "parts are not officially available" until April 2026, yet they allowed their dealer to sell me the parts for a private repair. This refusal violates my legal right to a free remedy for a safety defect under federal law. *CRITICAL FAILURE: The Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) within the ABS has suffered a total malfunction. Due to the immediate risk of brake system failure and loss of operator control, the vehicle is grounded and remains available for technical inspection. *OPERATIONAL IMPACT-The compromised ABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) significantly degrades the vehicle's emergency braking capabilities. Under rap
... id-deceleration requirements, the system's failure to prevent wheel lock-up poses a direct risk of catastrophic loss of vehicle control and potential personnel injury. SAFETY IMPACT - This malfunction introduces an unacceptable safety hazard during high-speed or emergency maneuvers. The absence of functional ABS increases the probability of skidding and multi-vehicle collisions, thereby endangering the operator, passengers, and civilian traffic. *I have reported it to a dealer and I have called RAM customer care and have a Case number for Attorney to contact (96341810) *I have had the vehicle inspected by two mechanics and I have taken to dealers and they will not look at it since there is no parts available to repair it. *Initial Symptom Onset: The initial illumination of the ABS and Traction Control warning indicators occurred in June 2024, signaling a critical system fault. Diagnostic Evaluation: Upon presenting the vehicle for professional diagnostic service, it was determined that the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) required replacement. However, localized and national parts shortages resulted in an indefinite delay in the procurement of the necessary components. Manufacturer Recall Status: The vehicle remains in a degraded safety state pending the formalization and execution of a safety recall by the manufacturer (RAM) to address known HCU/ABS defects.Read more

My 2010 Ford Fusion has been having issues with the ABS system/module showing the fault code, Service Advance Track System. After checking the recalls on this issue, I learned that Ford did have a recall for this make/model, recall # 19S54, BUT only from cars out of a certain plant during a certain time. I was told by the local Ford dealer as well as Ford Motor Co. that my vehicle was not includ

Sudden Unintended Acceleration – 2024 Kia Sportage – Safety Hazard. Incident Date: April 18, 2026. Location: Parking lot. While pulling into a parking space at low speed, I brought the vehicle to a complete stop with my foot on the brake. Immediately after stopping, the vehicle suddenly and forcefully accelerated forward on its own without my foot on the accelerator. I was actively pressing
... the brake pedal, but the vehicle did not respond as expected and continued to accelerate. The acceleration was strong enough that the vehicle jumped over the parking bumper with both front tires and struck a fixed post. Even after impact with the post, the vehicle continued to push forward as if still accelerating, until it hit another barrier and finally came to a stop. At no time did I press the accelerator pedal. The vehicle’s behavior felt completely uncontrolled and unsafe. This incident could have resulted in serious injury or death if it had occurred in traffic or with pedestrians in front of the vehicle. The vehicle has been towed to KIA dealership and is pending inspection. I am reporting this as a serious safety defect. No injuries. Front-end damage after collision with post. This event was sudden, unexpected, and not driver-induced.Read more

The vehicle is a brand new Lexus TX. The primary issue involves a brake system malfunction. While driving, a “BRAKE” warning message appeared on the dashboard. At the same time, the brakes were actively applied, and this occurred multiple times in succession during the same driving event. At the time of the incident, we were not aware that the vehicle should not be driven when this warning a
... ppears and drove the vehicle home. After reviewing the owner’s manual, we learned that the vehicle should not be driven under these conditions. The vehicle was then towed to the dealership for inspection. This event posed a significant safety risk. Repeated, unintended brake application while driving could result in sudden deceleration, loss of vehicle control, or increased risk of being struck by other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash, injury, or death. Prior to this incident, the vehicle also experienced a complete failure of the camera/display system, where the screen went black, impacting driver visibility systems. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and under inspection by the manufacturer’s authorized service center. The issue has not yet been confirmed or reproduced at the time of this report. There were no prior warning messages before the brake warning appeared. The failure occurred unexpectedly. The component(s) responsible for the failure are currently unknown, pending diagnostic evaluation by the dealership. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.Read more

The first time this happened I was pulling into a parking lot and all service lights started flickering and it said to turn turn off car immediately as I was driving, I pulled into the nearest parking lot and it just stopped driving. The second time, which was Friday, April 17, 2026 I was driving down a busy road and all lights started flashing, the big NO ASB brakes flashing and I had no brakes.
... It was terrifying. Thankfully I ended up going down a hill onto flat ground and was able to pull into a gas station and get stopped by the curb. I immediately turned off the car and called the dealership. This happens without any warning at all, just when I am driving. This car is completely UNSAFE and unreliable. I needed to drive 188 miles on Saturday and when I picked the car up from the dealership the service manager told me NOT to take it on the trip, after being told the updates were completed. The issue has not been reliably reproduced, but the vehicle has been taken to the dealership twice for the same concern. After the most recent visit, the service manager advised me not to drive the vehicle due to safety concerns, indicating the issue may still be present and unresolved. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on two separate occasions. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer directly, police, or insurance representatives. No warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms appeared before either incident. The loss of braking occurred suddenly and without any advance indication. The failure involves the vehicle’s braking system and potentially the electrical/software systems. In addition to the braking issue, when the dealership connected a diagnostic device to the vehicle, it incorrectly registered the odometer reading as approximately 77,000 miles, while the actual mileage is approximately 4,801 miles. The failure involves the vehicle’s braking system and potentially the electrical/software systems. In addition to the braking issue,Read more
