The ABS system is faulty. When traveling at relatively low speeds (<20 mph) and over uneven surfaces (train tracks, pot holes, speed bumps, entering parking lots) the brake pedal will go all the way to the floor while the vehicle stutters. The ABS makes the vehicle shake even after the surface has returned to normal and the vehicle stopping distance dramatically increases from where it should be.
... This is repeatedly replicated and has nearly resulted in rear-end collisions. Having driven many, many vehicles with ABS systems this experience is NOT normal and needs to be investigated for a recall.Read more

The brakes are very inconsistent with a spongy pedal. When a vehicle in front of me caused an emergency stop, the pedal continued to travel almost to the floor and never felt firm. These brakes are very unsafe on a truck rated to tow as much as these are.

Dear NHTSA Safety Team, I am writing to file an urgent safety complaint regarding my 2023 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which experienced a catastrophic failure of the rear braking system while I was riding on a public road. On [insert date], while traveling at approximately 50 mph, I heard a loud metallic noise from the rear of the motorcycle. Shortly after, I attempted to slow down using the
... rear brake to enter my driveway, but the brake pedal went fully down with no braking response whatsoever. Upon inspection, I discovered that one of the brake pad pins was loose and one of the rear brake pads had completely fallen off, disabling the rear brake. Had I needed to stop suddenly or avoid a collision, this defect could have caused a serious accident or fatal injuries. The motorcycle is under warranty, has not been modified, and is maintained properly. I have contacted the dealer, but given the nature of this failure, I believe this may be indicative of a manufacturing or assembly defect affecting other units as well. I am attaching photographic evidence of the defect and would appreciate it if your office could review this case and advise whether further investigation is warranted. Please let me know if you need additional documentation or if I can assist further in the process. Thank you for your time and for prioritizing vehicle safety.Read more

Upon reading a lot of issues and complaints on my vehicle make/model I pretty much figured it was the brake vacuum pump. I called GM, however my car has 74,000 miles, is out of warranty and no recalls for my VIN so I'm told I have to have it fixed. My neighbor is a certified mechanic and has a shop. He looked at it and confirmed it is the vac pump. Not only that but the end that goes into the motor has sheared off and not there is metal pieces and fragments in my motor. I had to have it towed to his shop. (this morning) As of right now I am waiting to see if the motor can be flushed or if I am going to end up having to replace motor.
