Incident date: Jul 19, 2025
The vehicle has experienced ongoing powertrain and electrical malfunctions over several months. The most common symptoms include being stuck in 4th gear (limp mode), complete loss of RPM and speedometer readings, and illumination of the check engine and ESC lights. Most recently, while traveling at approximately 10 mph, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of both acceleration and braking. The br
... ake pedal became stiff and unresponsive, and the car had to coast to a stop without driver control. This posed a serious safety risk to myself and nearby traffic. These issues have persisted across multiple service visits to Ricart Hyundai in Groveport, Ohio. That dealership has replaced the crankshaft position sensor three times, the powertrain control module (PCM), and the battery, but the underlying problems remain unresolved. A technician at the dealership was able to reproduce the stalling event during a test drive. Despite that, the dealership has refused to proceed with further diagnostics unless I pay for an oil change, even though previous inspections by their own staff found no visible leaks and confirmed the oil level was sufficient at the time. They have also revoked complimentary access to a loaner vehicle despite the unresolved and unsafe condition of the car. The vehicle remains available for inspection. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership, has occurred repeatedly, and continues to pose a safety concern. Warning lights and gauge failures typically appear when the issue occurs.Read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving the automatic emergency braking (AEB) system on my Honda Accord 2020. The system has been engaging randomly and without cause, abruptly applying the brakes when there is no obstacle or hazard present. On multiple occasions, this malfunction has occurred while driving at normal speeds, including on highways a
... nd in moderate traffic. These sudden, unprovoked braking events have created extremely dangerous situations, nearly causing rear-end collisions and putting both myself and other drivers at risk. Despite there being no obstruction in front of the vehicle, the system behaves as though an emergency stop is necessary. This issue not only undermines the purpose of the safety feature but also significantly increases the risk of an accident due to unexpected deceleration. I urge Honda to thoroughly investigate this issue, as it appears to be a potentially widespread and dangerous defect. I am requesting that the company: •Address and correct the fault in my vehicle’s AEB system at no cost •Provide a clear explanation of the root cause •Inform me of any recalls or technical service bulletins (TSBs) related to this problemRead more

Yesterday [XXX] the car basically failed to stop when I braked and was nearly hit by the approaching vehicle. I immediately called the service dept of the dealer and taking it in for diagnostics. No warning lights ever popped on. So what happened is I was getting on to the road from the parking lot and started braking to wait for the approaching cars to pass but instead of stopping all I got was
... vibrations and shaking all while not stopping. The car got almost half body length out on the road making the approaching cars swerve and honk at me. The only way I managed to stop it was stomping on the brakes as hard as I could, which worked. But it freaked me out and sent my kid in tears cuz the stopping was so violent. I am aware of the ABS issue with these models and experienced it 5-6 times before but never it was a near collision situation and especially with the kid on board. I called the dealer right away and am taking the car in for diagnostics. I told them about the issue and history of similar events but all I heard back was “oh, sorry it happened, come in for a diag. We have never heard of it.” We all know by now about the faulty ABS system in Palisade and the class action was just filed against Hyundai last month. So I wonder what will it take for them to admit the problem and issue a remedy. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

A few weeks after I purchased a new 2019 Ridgeline I’ve noticed that brake pedal did not feel right. First what I noticed sometimes when I go to start the car the brake pedal is very hard, I have not experienced that with any other car. Then I noticed that when I’m on the light standing with the car running brake pedal sinks all the way to the bottom. Then I have to press the brake a few times
... for it to go back to normal hight. I took the car to a Honda Service on 6600 N Western in n Chicago back in 2019/2020 and they tested the car I’m not sure if they were able to reproduce same issues but they told me that the brake works fine. I got the car back, after I noticed when pressing brake there is a clicking sound coming from the brake pedal area not all the times sometimes, also noticed that sometimes it takes more pressure to apply to the brake in order for car to stop. At that time I looked online and I wasn’t able to find anybody reporting same issues. Now when I go online on Honda forums I see more people complaining about same or similar issues. I still own the car with only 38000 miles on it and still have same brake issues with it.Read more

The issue involves the brake system, specifically a brake fluid leak from the master cylinder area, which was identified under Ford Safety Recall 25S47. The component is still in the possession of the dealership and should be available for inspection upon request. I did not personally experience any symptoms while driving. There were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable changes in braking p

They deemed the vehicle unsafe to drive due to the risk of reduced or complete loss of front braking power, which could place my safety and the safety of others at risk. As of now, the vehicle has been at the dealership for over 35 days, and Ford has not provided a fix or repair parts. I am currently driving a loaner vehicle. As I exited the ramp and attempted to slow down, the brake pedal went soft and unresponsive. I had no ability to stop my vehicle, and in a moment of panic, I swerved i
... nto a curb to avoid hitting other cars or pedestrians. This caused damage to my rim and tire, but thankfully I avoided a major crash or injury. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership, where they diagnosed a master cylinder failure. The car is currently being repaired under warranty, but I no longer feel safe driving it. I suffer from anxiety and have been experiencing panic attacks and nightmares since the incident. I am deeply afraid of getting back into a car that nearly killed me. This is a brand-new vehicle and a brake failure of this magnitude should never happen — let alone within the first month of ownership. GM/Buick has offered to repair the car but not replace it, and I was informed I do not qualify for lemon law because this has only occurred once. That doesn’t change the fact that I experienced a catastrophic and life-threatening failure that could have resulted in serious injury or death. I am filing this report because I believe this is a manufacturing defect that poses a danger to others. A single failure of this kind is enough to destroy trust in the safety of a vehicle. If this happened to someone else, the outcome could be tragic. Please investigate this issue before someone loses their life.Read more

MANUFACTURER VIOLATION OF FEDERAL TREAD ACT REIMBURSEMENT REQUIREMENTS Vehicle experienced ABS hydraulic control unit failure in September 2022 with warning lights and transmission shifting problems. Manufacturer referenced wrong recall campaigns in denial letters, demonstrating failure to properly evaluate claim under applicable federal regulations. Request NHTSA enforcement action to compel manufacturer compliance with federal reimbursement obligations. Manufacturer operates established reimbursement system but improperly applies federal requirements. Safety defect was present in 2022 and subsequently recalled, establishing federal obligation for pre-recall repair reimbursement. 2015 Cadillac SRX with 87,397 has a failed Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) or ABS module. It can be made available for inspection upon request. Worse, the failed EBCM is now causing the car to go into "limp mode", which cuts power to the engine and prevent acceleration. When making a turn onto a street, it suddenly went into limp mode and I was almost hit by an approaching semi-truck. The problem was identified by Alexander of Oxnard service center - but they refuse to make any effort to remedy the problem. There are multiple blogs on the internet citing similar systemic issues with the EBCM that is no longer manufactured but can be repaired by a specialty shop. Lights on the dash first started to appear in September 2024. Lights include ABS, Brake and traction control / stability light. New lights started to appear in June 2025 including Check Engine, headlamp and auto-parking symbols.
