The vehicle has only been driven for 24K miles and there was an issue with the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and the recommendation is for it to be completely replaced. Seems ridiculous if the ABS Hydralic Control Unit is meant to last 100k-200k miles.

Complete loss of hydraulic brake pressure resulting in brake pedal traveling to the floor. Defect: Brake Actuator and Pump Assembly failure Risk: The vehicle has been deemed unsafe to drive by a certified Lexus technician and I was asked to sign a liability waiver to remove vehicle from dealership. A diagnostic at Lexus dealership confirmed a failed ABS brake actuator and pump assembly. Incident date: Apr 13, 2026
Component/System Failure: The braking system, specifically the brake rotors (and possibly pads), appears to be malfunctioning. The vehicle experiences severe vibration during braking. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: While braking at highway speeds (approximately 50–70 mph), the steering wheel shakes violently and the vehicle vibrates rapidly. This reduces cont
... rol and creates a serious safety risk, especially when driving downhill or in traffic. It increases stopping distance and makes the vehicle feel unstable. Reproducibility / Dealer Confirmation: The issue has been reproduced multiple times under normal driving conditions. The dealership inspected the vehicle and acknowledged brake/rotor-related vibration but classified it as normal wear and tear and declined warranty repair. Inspections by Others: The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Volkswagen dealership. No police or insurance inspections were involved. Warning Lamps or Prior Symptoms: No warning lights or dashboard messages were displayed prior to or during the issue. The only symptom is severe shaking and vibration during braking, which began around 33,000 miles for 2024 ATLAS. Additional Details / Suspected Cause: Given the low mileage, this appears to be premature failure of brake components rather than normal wear. Similar complaints have been reported by other owners, suggesting a potential defect or design issue.Read more

On May 2nd, 2026, while driving my 2026 Honda CRV EX, which I purchased less than 3 months ago, I got a warning on my dashboard saying "Brake System Problem: Brake Performance may be reduced. See your dealer." I tried push the break but it wouldn't budge, it was as if the brakes locked. I took my foot off the accelerator and steered myself to the shoulder and pulled on the emergency brake. I kept
... pulling the brake up until the car stopped. I then immediately moved the gear shift from "drive" to "park". Multiple alarms came on showing system problems. The following warning lights came up: Brake system problem, electric brake system problem, TPMS system problem, Transmission system problem, Auto Idle Stop System Problem, Electric power steering system problem, Brake Hold system problem, Vehicle stability assist system problem, Hill start assist problem, Hill descent control system problem, Adaptive cruise control system problem, Lane keeping assist system problem, collision mitigation brake system problem, Road departure mitigation system problem, blind spot information system problem, Auto high-bream problem. At the time that the warnings appeared, I was about half a mile away from a signalized intersection. The brake pedal was difficult to depress and unresponsive. I lost meaning braking ability while the vehicle was in motion. Had the traffic signal at the intersection been red at the moment of failure, I would not have been able to stop the vehicle in time and a collision with cross-traffic or a vehicle stopped at the light would have been likely. After stopping, I turned off the vehicle and then turned it back on. Again all the alarms appeared, I was unable to push down on the brake pedal and the gear shift was locked. The vehicle was then towed to a Honda dealer and is awaiting diagnosis.Read more

I am filing this safety complaint on behalf of myself and my wife, [XXX] , the primary driver of our 2021 Ford Escape PHEV, with active under Recall 25SC4 (no remedy available). The vehicle has experienced 8+ sudden complete shutdowns during normal driving since February 2026, always during EV-to-hybrid mode transition, always without prior warning. The only warning is a brief sound like air escap

At shutdown: engine cuts completely, steering wheel locks rigid and cannot be turned, brake pedal locks hard and cannot be depressed, gear selector locks in Drive and cannot be changed. The driver has zero ability to steer, brake, or move the vehicle. Must activate hazards and wait 1-5 minutes for restart while immobilized in an active traffic lane. Incidents occurred: (1) February 2026: multiple times, dealer retained vehicle 5 days, found nothing. (2) Early April 2026: multiple times, including one witnessed by a police officer who directed traffic around immobilized vehicle. Dealer kept 3 days, blamed the original Ford-supplied charger. Replacement did not fix defect. What component or system failed? The inner brake pad material on the front wheel of the door side and off door side separated. The material did not come unbonded from the pad plate, the material itself separated. I have the pads and pictures of the failure. How was your safety put at risk? The material could have become jammed in the brakes. This could have caused the single brake to lock up (pos

This could have caused a brake line to be severed causing loss of brakes or, due to loss of pad material, a reduction in braking capability. Yes, the technician working on my vehicle stated he has seen this brake pad material failure on Kodiak pads multiple times. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer? Not yet. Our 2022 Tesla Model Y long range had a braking system failure due to a flawed routing of the rear flex brake lines. When applying the brakes at a red light the vehicle rolled into the intersection despite the brake pedal being pressed to the firewall. There were no warning lights at this time. After arriving home, large amounts of brake fluid were visible under the car. I removed the rear passeng
... er side wheel to inspect the source of the leak. It was immediately clear that the flexible brake line was the source of the leak. It was installed (at the factory) in a position that allowed it to rub against the thin and abrasive edge of the wheel well. Over time, this cut into the brake line until a hole formed. The same issue was occurring on the rear driver side brake line. I took the car to a Tesla service center where they insisted that this was not a Tesla issue. They claimed that the faulty routing of the brake lines must have occurred within the last three weeks, and that they had never heard of this happening with another Tesla. Only after they looked at the problem did a brake warning appear on the screen showing there was a problem. I paid an independent service center to replace the lines and reroute them. I’m filing this report because I’m worried there are other customers, (especially those that have Model Ys that came off the line when mine did) driving around unaware that their brakes may fail when they need them most.Read more

When she was finally able to reach a second Monro location between [XXX] and [XXX] , a technician discovered that one brake caliper bolt was missing entirely and a second was dangerously loose. The vehicle had been driven at highway speeds in a winter storm with an improperly and incompletely assembled brake system for an extended distance before help was found. The second Monro location secured the caliper bolt and confirmed the vehicle safe to continue. The original Fairport location was contacted and their manager acknowledged the issue but has failed to provide any meaningful resolution after nearly four months. In a formal BBB complaint response, Monro Inc. confirmed that the caliper bolt had not been properly secured and acknowledged filing an insurance claim for resulting rim damage — an implicit admission of negligence. I am filing this complaint because an improperly assembled brake system — specifically a missing caliper bolt — represents a serious and potentially fatal safety hazard. 4/26: I was in the turn lane and SLOWLY approaching the vehicle in front of me. I was at least 12 feet back when the emergency brake engaged causing me to fling forward in my seat. However, I did have my seatbelt on a was not physically harmed, but mentally rattled. This also caused the car behind me to almost rear me. 5/1: I was in the parking lot of a local store. A pedestrian was passing at a

There two incidents have occurred within 2 weeks of purchase of my car. There is a feature to temporarily turn off automatic brake, but resets with each restart of the engine making it inconvenient to apply. Also, it is easy to forget to apply each time you start the car. I’ve also read since my incidents other reports of Hyundai drivers saying the disable feature does not always work and automatic brake engages. I feel that the automatic braking is a HUGE safety risk for driver, passengers, pedestrians and other vehicles on the road. I frequently drive to another state via highway to visit my mother and a now terrified to drive that distance considering all of the accelerations and decelerations involved with highway travel. Hyundai's recent emissions software update (9C9) has disabled engine braking, creating a risk of brake fade on grades. The vehicle is no longer able to hold speed while descending grades, regardless of downshifting, forcing the brakes to be implemented to avoid excessive speed. This was never an issue prior to the software update and happened immediately after the software was installed. Instea
... d of holding the vehicle with the engine (foot off the gas, and downshifting) the engine will continue to increase speed up to the point of approaching maximum RPMs. Further evidence of this behavior is that trying to use the engine braking no longer shows maximum MPG on the dash, indicating the software update is still feeding fuel to the engine with the foot off the gas.Read more

My vehicle has an open PTU recall and when driving down the road my vehicle completely lost power was unable to drive or put vehicle in park in the middle of a turn which resulted in on coming traffic coming towards my vehicle. There were no injuries thankfully. My car was towed to the Jeep dealership in Anchorage, AK to have the PTU recall done as that was the suspected reasoning of the failure.
... After weeks of back and forth I was told the transmission was damaged and needed replaced and the PTU recall was not able to be done due to the recall instructions. I was quoted 8-12 thousand dollars in repairs which was unrealistic to me. I then had vehicle towed to an auto body shop that could replace the transmission for a lesser price. Once at the auto shop they discovered there was a complete PTU failure which caused the transmission damage and told me to take it back to the dealership for repairs to be covered under the recall. The dealership submitted the information and I was denied the recall and repairs. The dealership informed me I would have to pay for a new transmission out of pocket. However once I had the new transmission testing the PTU recall could damage and that I also need to pay out of pocket for the PTU. The tungsten carbide coating on the PSCB (Porsche Surface Coated Brake) rotors has failed at 44,000 miles. This is not normal wear. The Taycan’s regenerative braking system handles the substantial majority of deceleration under normal driving conditions, meaning the mechanical brakes on this vehicle have seen a fraction of the use they would on a comparable internal combustion vehicle at the sam

Porsche has issued Technical Service Bulletins addressing PSCB disc replacement on the 2020 Taycan, indicating this is a known issue. The cost of OEM PSCB rotor replacement is approximately $7,500–$10,000 including labor. No safety-equivalent aftermarket replacement exists for this proprietary system, leaving owners with no practical alternative to the full OEM repair cost.Read more
