Just like many prius owners have complained of brake actuator/booster failure , my brake booster has failed also. Toyota recalled some cars and then decided to not own up to this issue which they know is affecting many pruis owners and costs between $3000 and $4500 for dealers to fix, therefore Toyota has just decided to refuse to do this repair and leave their customers high and dry with a known
... major safety brake issue affecting these most prius vehicles. Toyota needs to be forced to recall these cars and own up to this issue. Look at how many complaints Toyota has had on this brake booster issue and yet they are refusing to recall or even offer help to resolve this major safety issue. NHTSA needs to put pressure on Toyota to recall this brake issue affecting many prius owners as shown by the volume of complaints.Read more

I was driving on the highway & my brakes failed. My brake pedal was completely hard & could not be used. i had to steer onto an exit ramp & be towed to the dealership. There was absolutely no warning of this happening. Once at the dealership, they confirmed it was my vacuum pump that blew up, which damaged the camshaft & caused pieces of metal to be floating around in my engine. The greater portio

Failed ABS Module
Incident date: Aug 12, 2025
On three separate occasions we have lost braking power preventing instantaneous stopping, and control of the vehicle. They partially work when your foot is pushing on the pedal all the way to the floor. This occurs autonomously without warning and the following occur: Lose breaking power, inability to brake and stop at safe distances instantaneously and momentarily, Brake ABS alarm, Parking Supp
... ort Brake Malfunction ("Visit Your Dealer"), Check Engine, Collision Assistance fails, and Traction Control fails. The first occurrence my spouse was driving the vehicle on a 65 MPH three lane highway that at the time was evening rush hour. She had to decrease her speed to 30 MPH in a 65 MPH speed zone in order to slow the vehicle enough at a safe distance from the vehicle in front of her, then continue at a safe distance as traffic ahead of her excelled. Had this happened traveling the speed limit, and had to stop abruptly, this could have either caused severe bodily injury and/or death to her and the vehicle behind and in front of her, and other adjacent lanes. The second occurrence after the dealer looked at it (as covered under warranty), we received the vehicle back. The next day the brakes went out and alarms appeared once again as she pulled out of the driveway. I pulled the vehicle in the driveway for her and couldn't stop and almost drove through my garage at only idling speed. The third occurrence was most recently after an oil change. I drove the vehicle around the block and again, the brakes went out and alarms appeared once again. We have owned this vehicle since May 10th and it has been at dealerships for repair for at least 35 days minimum. On the first occurence they had a regional tech/engineer inspect the vehicle. Nothing was found as problematic and a factory reset was performed - nothing replaced. The second occasion - same outcome... nothing fixed or replaced. The vehicle is in the shop again for the same problem.Read more

This tends to only happen below 74 degrees Fahrenheit and happens excessively between 72 and 74 degrees Fahrenheit. While driving with one pedal engaged (labeled as low on the shifter since they re-used another model's shifter for the first several years of the Bolt EV), the cruise control will randomly disengage and force the vehicle to immediately slam on the brakes. Usually its not a big deal
... , but when it happens at highway speed as you're just passing a semi or large vehicle and merging back into the lane in front of it, it becomes dangerous very quickly, which has happened a couple of times now. I would venture a guess that its not related to the cruise control directly, but some system that its relying on is forcing it to deactivate the cruise control. The only other issue this vehicle is having that might be related is that the blind spot detection system is not working correctly on the left side. I know there's a TSB for the aluminum Butyl tape becoming damaged or missing, but if that's causing my car to slam on its brakes in front of fully loaded semis, Chevy should probably be persuaded into re-coding how their cruise control gets disengaged. Especially since this blind spot detection system issue seems somewhat common. Either way, something is causing my car to randomly slam on its brakes in the middle of the highway and Chevy says there's nothing they can do about it because its not setting a code. This is definitely a dangerous safety issue that they should be forced into actually diagnosing more than just plugging a computer in and saying: "whelp, nothing to see here." and returning it to the customer with a "we can't do anything, sorry."Read more

The ABS engaged unnecessarily when I pressed the brake pedal, causing the vehicle to slide forward about 6-10 feet while I was driving at approximately 10 miles per hour. The Multipurpose camera that controls all advanced driver assistance fuctions malfunctions causing these systems to intermittenently not work properly or at all. It has caused the vehicle to fail to brake, and brake on its own without cause. Upon doing my own research I found numerous reports online of other owners of this make/model having the same issue. The problem first occured when my vehicl
... e reached about 50,000 miles. It has been ongoing since. It caused damage to my vehicle when the automatic collision assist failed to brake for a vehicle that stopped abruptly in front of me. The alerts that these systems are not working do not always show up when the vehicle starts. Sometimes they stop working in the middle of the route. I have been in correspondence with the dealership who informed me the cost to fix this issue is $1968 (this does not include the $150 diagnostic fee while the vehicle was being serviced for a recall related to the fuel pump - I already paid to the dealer that fee and for which I've attached my receipt.) There is clearly some issue with the part that was installed by the manufacturer. It makes the vehicle unsafe to drive not knowing if these systems will fail or malfunction at any given moment. I do not feel as the customer this should be my responsibility to have repaired, as many others report the same issue with this part. There is clearly a widespread issue that needs to be addressed in a recall in order to replace the faulty part.Read more

He said he had already spent his to get my credit okay, so I should pay for the car anyway because the loan is in my name. Or to sell him the car and pay the rest of the money after he values the car. It's unfair to me to lose my $6700 plus the $3700 from the trade plus my credit. On August 12, 2025, at approximately 10:16 AM, while driving at normal speed on CR-43 NW southbound just past Minnesota Ave in Big Lake, MN, my Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist System, specifically the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) / Pre-Collision Braking System, suddenly activated without warning and with no obstacle present. The braking was abrupt and unnecessary, causing the vehicle behind
... me to nearly rear-end mine. Road conditions were clear, dry, and unobstructed, with no pedestrians, vehicles, or hazards in my lane. This appears to have been a “false positive” from the AEB system. This sudden stop placed both my safety and the safety of other drivers at serious risk, and in different circumstances could have caused a collision resulting in injury or death. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center because Subaru requires a $200 diagnostic fee, which I have not paid. The vehicle has not been inspected by Subaru, police, insurance, or any other parties for the same reason. No warning lamps, error messages, or other indicators appeared prior to the incident. All systems appeared to be functioning normally before the unexpected braking occurred. I am concerned this defect persists beyond 48,000 miles, outside the limits of prior settlements, and believe Subaru should issue a recall covering all affected vehicles, regardless of mileage, to prevent potential crashes.Read more

My car's brake pedal started not working properly. When trying to brake, the brake pedal goes down further than what it is supposed to and it takes longer than normal to brake, causing almost wrecks. It happens suddenly when trying to brake sometimes and it is very scary. There was a previous recall on the brake lines and it said they needed to be flushed out and all. I had this done to my car
... before and thought everything was okay. But it is not. I called Ford and they said there is currently a Customer Satisfaction Program that covers the repair of the Hydraulic control unit but it is limited to vehicles under 15 years old. My car is 16 years old so it does not qualify for this program. I asked why this wasn't a recall because it is such a big safety issue and they stated they couldn't make it a recall, it would have to be reported and issued from NHTSA. If the brakes/brake pedal is messing up and this is a known issue, then the vehicles' age should not matter. It should be recalled and fixed because this is such a huge safety concern and obviously a defect when manufactured. I don't have another car to drive and I'm sure there are numerous others in this same position and I feel it is imperative that this be looked into further and issued as a recall so people can remain safe and I'm sure this would save lives. I almost ran into a car today and it is extremely hazardous. It is very dangerous and scary and there is no warning light or anything indicating anything is wrong until driving it and it randomly happens. I have taken care of my car and had the previous recalls fixed but Ford knows this is an issue and very dangerous so it seems clear this needs to be issued as a recall.Read more

This motorcycle has been garage kept. It is in mint condition with 2114 miles on the odometer. It was purchased new in 2018. In 2024 the ABS light on the instrumentation illuminated. I tested the brakes to see if the ABS still worked, but it does not work. The rear tire can be locked up to skid, and the ABS does nothing. It used to work in years prior, as I had tested it in the past by apply
... ing heavy rear brakes. According to the manual, the error code #35 indicates a faulty ABS unit. The trouble-shooting is to test for 12 volts at the connector to the ABS unit. I put the bike into service mode, I got error code 35, and I tested the voltage to the unit and it was over 12 volts. I went online and discovered that ABS units failing on this motorcycle is not a rare event. I also learned that the old ABS unit 55610-28K00 has been superseded with part number 55610-2K01. This would indicate an issue with the earlier unit. The replacement cost is list price of $986.42, sale price of $828.59. This part can be found under "Hydraulic Unit" on the OEM parts schematic. Non-functioning ABS, especially on the front wheel, can be very dangerous and lead to serious injury or death during an emergency brake application on a motorcycle. I contacted Suzuki Motors of America. They have no recall on the ABS unit, and they offered no assistance due to the warranty being expired. Yet they have a new part number, replacing the old part for some reason. They must be aware of a high failure rate of the original ABS unit. I feel that it is very irresponsible for Suzuki Motors to send out motorcycles with faulty ABS units and not do something to remedy the dangerous situation this creates. The consumer's only option at this point is to have the ABS unit replaced at well over $1000 when factoring in taxes and labor charges. If you can, please check to find out how many ABS units they have sold due to this issue. Thank you.Read more

I pulled over right side of street to park behind a parked vehicle to a visit house across the street. Was too far out from curb so I backed up about 12-15 feet or so. Put car in drive and slowly started to drive toward curb when car suddenly accelerated very hard. I turned steering to left to avoid hitting the car in front, straightened car out but could not stop it until it stopped about 20-30 f
... eet down the road. Brake was not stopping my car. The acceleration was something like being on a ramp to get on highway and pressing pedal down to get to highway speed. It was a very hard acceleration. Very frightening. I got an appointment tomorrow for volvo service to look at this. Drove the car after this happened and today without any incident. I bought the car new in Mar 2024 and have NEVER experience this.Read more
