Brake vacuum pump premature failure. As you see GMC, terrains, in Equinox, I have an issue, while the engine it's on while driving etc, if this bark fails, you will have an issue I'm trying to stop. This is a known problem or GM. And as of now, they have not come out with a solution or a recall for this problem. This problem has caused many customers. To lose thousands of dollars, he repairs. I'm
... not covered by the warranty. This should be addressed and repaired as soon as possible as it may cause someone else to lose their life. Second problem is the 9 speed transmission transmission lack power when trying to gain speed as you enter the highway. Lastly they blamed the selenoids etc. Lastly the pulley belt retention broke down premature with only 68k miles. This is an ongoing problem gm is well aware and tries to hide or fix. When someone buys a vehicle we expect to last longer than 100k miles.Read more

AdvanceTrac stopped working in my car due a sensor. Had to get it replaced by Midas. When I went to turn on my car and put it in drive it started making an awful grinding sound and would not move and gave me an error code that just said service AdvanceTrac. It was insanely expensive to repair and thankfully didn't happen while I was driving.

I purchased this vehicle as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from George Moore Chevrolet in Jacksonville, Florida, in October 2023. At the time of purchase, the vehicle had approximately 35,000 miles, and it now has approximately 60,000 miles. I have maintained all recommended service intervals and oil changes as required. On June 14, 2025, while stopped at a traffic signal with my foot on the brake
... pedal, the pedal suddenly sank to the floor, causing the vehicle to roll forward into traffic unexpectedly. I was able to place the vehicle in neutral and then park to prevent a collision. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it when the light changed, the brakes continued to fail. I carefully maneuvered to a nearby area behind a warehouse and allowed the vehicle to come to a complete stop by shifting into neutral. I contacted a tow truck through my State Farm roadside assistance program and had the vehicle transported to my local mechanic. Upon inspection on June 16, 2025, the technician determined that the brake lines were corroded and leaking. Initially, he suspected the master brake cylinder, but it was confirmed not to be leaking. He noted that the metal-braided portion of the brake line had completely deteriorated on one side and was severely compromised on the other. Both brake lines were replaced to restore braking function. Fortunately, I was able to avoid an accident, but this was an alarming experience that I have never encountered in any vehicle I have owned. My mechanic expressed concern about the extent of corrosion on such a relatively new vehicle and indicated this could represent a broader safety issue. I respectfully request that this matter be documented and investigated to ensure that other drivers are not placed at similar risk.Read more

My car experienced sudden unintended acceleration. I was at a stop light preparing to turn right when my car accelerated of its own accord crashing into the vehicle in front of me. My foot was firmly on the brake, but I had lost control over the vehicle. Whatever electrical defect I experienced, it was sufficient to rev the engine by itself and override the braking system enough that the vehicle
... advanced forward in an out-of-control manner. It was unintended, unexpected and beyond my ability to control. Failing to recognize the braking system, my vehicle collided into the vehicle a second time. Because my foot was on the brake and my vehicle still advanced forward, I initially thought I had been hit from behind. However, the erratic RPM behavior and the vehicle's continued acceleration while braking confirmed I was no longer in control of the vehicle. Acting promptly, I immediately took the gear shifter out of drive and put into neutral. It was then and only then that I regained control of the vehicle: it stopped accelerating, stopped revving of its own accord and began responding to the braking system. Please note: my foot was not on the gas pedal, for as soon as I took it out of drive, the RPM returned to normal (i.e. the erratic behavior indicated by the tachometer's RPM, stopped). Had my foot been on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, the revving would have continued to behave as before; but it did not. (I do not have an all-weather floor mat. It is neither here nor there, because in the event that I did have one, you would expect the RPM behavior to continue when put into neutral; but again, all behavior returned to normal when the vehicle was put in neutral.) Though I am sympathetic to those that panic in a moment of distress, I was of a present enough mind to know what was happening. An electrical engineer with intimate knowledge of the computer system for this vehicle would be the best to assess what went wrong from a technical perspective.Read more

Dear NHTSA Safety Team, I’m writing to formally report a serious and widespread safety issue affecting Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The problem centers on the failure of the ABS module, which triggers diagnostic code C2200. This defect disables critical safety systems including ABS and traction control, and causes the vehicle to shake violently—often mistaken for warped rotors. Jeep has discontinue
... d production of the replacement ABS module, and the part has been on backorder for years. Today alone, my dealership received three separate calls from owners experiencing the same issue. This is clearly not an isolated incident. The consequences of this failure include: - Loss of ABS and traction control functionality - Unstable braking behavior - Increased risk of collision - No available replacement part from the manufacturer This poses a clear and present danger to drivers, passengers, and others on the road. I urge NHTSA to investigate this defect and compel Jeep to issue a recall or provide a viable solution. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am the owner of a 2024 Ford Expedition, purchased new in March 2024. I am writing to formally report multiple instances of complete brake failure, which pose a significant safety risk. The most recent incident occurred on [XXX], at approximately [XXX], while I was driving northbound on [XXX] in Cupertino, California, with my wife and two grandchildren (ages [XXX] and [XXX]) in the vehicle. As I
... approached the [XXX] exit, I began decelerating. While applying continuous pressure on the brake pedal during the descent of the off-ramp, the brake pedal suddenly went soft and sank to the floor. The vehicle failed to slow down and began accelerating downhill, due to gravity, toward the intersection at [XXX] , where the light was red. This total loss of braking control lasted for approximately 5 to 10 seconds and nearly resulted in a serious collision. I was only able to regain control by releasing and reapplying the brake pedal and shifting the transmission into Park, at which point the brakes resumed normal function. A similar brake failure occurred earlier in 2024 under comparable driving conditions. At that time, I believed it to be an isolated mechanical glitch, and therefor did not take it to the dealer. I brought the vehicle to Frontier Ford in Santa Clara the following day ([XXX]) for immediate inspection. Despite ongoing efforts by the dealership and Ford engineering, the issue has not been duplicated or resolved. As of this writing, the vehicle remains at the dealership. I am filing this complaint so that the matter may be officially documented and thoroughly investigated as a potential systemic safety defect affecting this model. I urge you to investigate this issue promptly to help prevent similar incidents and ensure the safety of other drivers and passengers. To date, I, like many Ram owners are still awaiting parts to become available to have them replaced per the recall and am requesting that the NHTSA step in to assist as we all have essentially unsafe trucks on US highways. I believe this should be a priority, given the fact that owners of 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks often own them to tow trailers (like myself) which leads to additional unsafe conditions on the road. I am submitting this complaint to formally report repeated rear brake failures on my 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 which pose a serious safety hazard. The issue appears to be consistent with the defect described in NHTSA Campaign Number 25V013000 (Ducati Recall CR285 / SRV-RCL-25-001) involving excessive heat damage to the rear brake hose between the ABS control unit and the rear caliper. Incident Summ
... ary: Since purchasing the motorcycle in June 4,2025. have experienced three complete rear brake failures in less than two months, each occurring after warranty repairs: 1. 6/15/2025 – First ride after purchase: Rear brakes failed; smoke observed near exhaust. Returned to dealer (Moto Forza) on 6/17/2025. Dealer kept the bike for ~1 month for warranty repair related to brake line heat damage. 2. 7/19/2025 – Second occurrence: Rear brakes failed again. Returned for service. 3. 8/10/2025 – Third occurrence: Rear brakes failed completely, with blue/bronze discoloration of the rotor indicating excessive heat exposure. Returned to dealership This motorcycle has been out of service for over seven weeks since ownership. Manufacturer’s Response: Ducati’s regional representative has indicated verbally that my lowering of the motorcycle caused the brake failures and that I would not qualify for a manufacturer buyback. I dispute this claim for the following reasons: Lowering motorcycles is common and has not caused brake failures on any of the multiple bikes I’ve owned and lowered in my 9 years of riding experience. There is an active recall for the exact brake defect I am experiencing, which affects stock, unmodified 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 models. Multiple owners have reported repeated rear brake failures in unmodified bikes matching my model year and configuration. Ducati has not provided any written technical evidence to support their claim that lowering caused the defect.Read more

I am writing as a concerned RAM owner facing a severe safety risk due to the unresolved OEM trailer brake controller (TBC) issue. I bought my truck to tow a travel trailer, which I cannot safely do without resolving this. Background: • Purchased 2025 RAM 1500 LARAMIE CREW CAB 4X4 (VIN: [XXX] ) in March 2025. My previous 2022 RAM’s TBC is incompatible with 2025 due to CAN-bus/electrical changes
... —this was not disclosed at purchase. • On April 3rd 2025, Mopar support incorrectly told me to buy PN 82219232AA. I later found I needed 82219240AB, which I ordered. Delivery was repeatedly delayed, then canceled in May with no alternative offered. • Opened Case [XXX] with RAM Customer Care on June 10th 2025—no resolution since. • I confirmed my truck is pre-wired with harness 68601443AA and only needs module PN 68569520AB and dash switch PN 68618899AA. I sourced these and scheduled install at Serra Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM for July 28th 2025. Initially told they could do it, but upon arrival, they refused, claiming it must be done at the factory. This is incorrect. Mopar document 82219232AB [XXX] ) provides dealers official instructions to install/activate the TBC, especially when the truck already has the factory wiring. Safety risk: I used a CURT Bluetooth brake controller as a temporary fix. It frequently loses connection, making it unsafe during sway, high winds, or oscillations. If it fails mid-trip, I lose trailer-only braking. Request: 1.Immediate coordination to install/activate the OEM TBC (Sales Code XHC + proxy alignment). 2.If not feasible, replace the vehicle with one having a factory TBC at no cost to me. Within a year of owning my vehicle, I began to notice a SEVERE shudder on braking when descending from 7000 foot elevation (Mammoth Lakes, CA) to a 4400 foot elevation (Bishop, CA) on [XXX] of [XXX} upon braking. I have driven this route approximately 25 times in the past 1.5 years. Normally, I would set the adaptive cruise control to 73-75 mph on this downhill grade to control speed, and let th
... e adaptive cruise control do the work of controlling speed, while keeping my own foot off the break. However, if I did need to slow further due to traffic, I would experience a SEVERE shudder upon manual braking- see attached screenshot of a video taken at night. I brought this incident up to VW (See mechanic video) in 1/2025, and they blamed the problem on overheating of the front rotor (see technician video link below). Upon return trips to Mammoth, I now realize that this overheating was caused by the adaptive cruise control itself attempting to control auto speed. Now, in order to make this LESS dangerous, I have to let the car get up to 80 mph and then pulse the breaks- because if I let the adaptive cruise control do the work as designed, it creates an unsafe driving condition BECAUSE OF A FAULTY DESIGN by VW- if heat is an issue, better dissipation is needed, or a temperature sensor is needed. VW's solution was for me to spend $700 to replace brakes and rotors due to a VW design flaw, despite my car being under warranty, and I cannot afford this currently. I think this issue MUST be recalled immediately before I (or someone else) who drives on long hilly grades has a fatal car accident due to a design flaw in the VW Atlas Adaptive Cruise Control. August 6, 2025 I was driving and it started to rain and there was a little rain on the road and my vehicle appeared to be hydroplaning. I had never experienced that before and it scared me to the point that I reduced my speed significantly. I arrived at my destination and was there for about three hours and when I started my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse I had 4 lights come on my dashboard along with a
... warning chime. The lights were the BRAKE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, FORWARD COLLISION ASSIST LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT; and a Service ESC and Service Brake Assist message popped up in separate boxes from the lights themselves. I turned off my Traverse and hoped it was some fluke thing and again the same lights came on and same messages. I drove my vehicle home cautiously and parked it. I called the dealer I purchased it from the following morning and was given a service appointment 11 days out and I stated that was unacceptable since I was not sure the vehicle was safe to drive from everything I was reading online. The service dept stated that they could place it on a machine if I stopped into the dealership and let me know if was safe to drive. My husband drove it to the dealership 25 miles away and wasn't happy with the service department and spoke to a manager and he stated they would look at my vehicle the following day and gave me a loaner. My husband advised the manager that everything I had been reading pointed to an issue with the master brake cylinder and the parts are on backorder and the manager said he hadn't heard of any issues with them. I received a call 4 days later after asking the status of my new car repeatedly and was told that it is the master brake cylinder and a couple of the parts are on backorder and they don't know when they will arrive; could be a week, two or a month. I am extremely concerned about the seriousness of this issue and the lack of parts to repair the vehicle. As I stated, there are multiple incidents on google over this same issue.Read more

Experienced severe vibrations while driving and when I got out of the car there was a burning smell coming from inside the driver's side front tire. No warning light or messages on my dash. Brought to the dealer to find that the master brake cylinder is defective and I am currently waiting over a month to have it repaired as the parts are unavailable.

This complaint is an update to my previous complaint #11679471 submitted on August 8, 2025. Please consider this as additional information to the original case. Since my initial submission: Second Dealership Refusal: I attempted to bring the vehicle to a second authorized Jeep dealership for inspection and diagnosis. They refused any service, stating they would not inspect or repair the vehicle.
... This is now the second dealership to reject the vehicle after the incident. Obtained Diagnostic Printouts: Despite refusing service, the second dealership was convinced to provide printed codes from the vehicle. These codes show multiple system errors recorded at a very low vehicle mileage, including communication failures with the ABS control module, brake system internal failure, and CAN bus errors. These indicate potential electronic or computer system faults that could have occurred immediately before or during the brake failure. Manufacturer Warranty Issue: Immediately after the incident, Jeep opened a warranty case #93917003 for the vehicle. However, during subsequent communication, I was informed that this brand-new vehicle has no manufacturer's warranty at all. This is extremely concerning, as the vehicle was purchased new with only minimal mileage and no prior damage or modifications. Vehicle Condition: The vehicle remains undrivable and unsafe to operate. Jeep or its authorized dealers have performed no corrective action. Given that this was a brand-new vehicle with extremely low mileage purchased solely for personal family travel, and that both authorized dealerships have refused to address a major safety defect, I am requesting that NHTSA treat this as an urgent safety matter. The refusal to investigate by Jeep dealerships, combined with the unexpected claim that there is no manufacturer warranty, leaves this defect unresolved and poses an ongoing safety risk if similar failures occur in other vehicles.Read more

Stellantis is unable to provide a timey remedy for NHTSA Recall Number24V-896. The hydraulic control unit ("HCU") is susceptible to failure or malfunction which may result in a reduction or change of Anti-Lock Brake System ("ABS")/Electronic Stability Control ("ESC") /Traction Control performance. A failing HCU will initially result in the intermittent loss of ABS/Traction control progressing to p
... ermanent loss. The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Driving the vehicle is a safety risk to me and the public. The vehicle is garaged at an authorized dealership since 2/13/25 and has resulted in a loss of income totaling $40,000 as the truck was used for transporting heavy loads. Additionally, I have paid $9,000 towards the monthly truck note and insurance for a vehicle that I cannot drive. Stellantis has not provided an adequate solution, and they are ill-equipped to be a manufacturer of vehicles in the United States. Stellantis is actively misrepresenting safety information to the public without any regard for the public’s safety. Out of an abundance of caution, I filed Better Business Bureau complaint case #[XXX] on [XXX] with the Detroit and Eastern Michigan office after Stellantis advised me that the 2018 Ram 3500 was safe to drive even though the recall was not repaired. Stellantis’ response can be viewed by the public at the Better Business Bureau of Detroit and Eastern Michigan’s website. It reads as follows: “We issued this recall out of our commitment to your safety and recommend that you complete the repair as soon as the remedy becomes available. However, please rest assured that you can continue driving your vehicle safely in the meantime." They made 5.5 billion in profit in 2024 and they won't deal fairly regarding a rental vehicle. On 7/17 they told me they would reimburse up to $60 then 8 days later they said up to $50. When I submitted my rental receipts they said their system is down. System that malfunctioned was the braking system Safety was risked because vehicle doesn’t stop as it should at low speed below 30mph. Safety of occupants as well pedestrians and other motorists affected. Problem can be reproduced although dealer refused to confirm. I am in the process of getting it confirmed independently. Vehicle and components not inspected by manufacturer, police nor insur
... ance. Although I am in the process of putting an insurance claim in. The issue has been reported and confirmed by several other owners of same make and model and year. No prior warning of issue to it happening. The problem: At low speed below 30mph and braking simultaneously when going over rough ground (non slippery), potholes or in my accident going over a 6” drain to my garage, the ABS kicks in when it shouldn’t and the brake pedal vibrates and the vehicle lurches a bit. The result is that the braking distance increases significantly. I can reproduce the issue in particular roads areas. The accident I had involved when I was parking the car and the drain cover was dislodged at the entrance to the garage. I hit the brakes as usual but the brakes were ineffective and I ended up crashing into my refrigerator and freezer in the garage which took the full brunt of the impact and were damaged. I hardly had any brakes at all and the fridges took the full impact. Luckily it was at low speed. So only the front bumper got cracked and got damaged along with the fridges being fully crushed in. After the incident I was so shocked at what happened and couldn’t believe I lost the brakes so I found that several other owners of the same vehicle has had the same or even severe brake failures. I was able to replicate the problem fairly consistently in certain roads where it was slightly bumpy or rough. I didn’t want to try in my garage for obvious reasons. Furthermore the emergency brakes and collision warning did not activate either.Read more

Purchased a CPO Sportage XPro April 2025. As I am unfamiliar with the mechanisms of Kia, unbeknownst to me, my engine revved the first week of purchase. Since this incident, the engine has revved while braking on [XXX] while driving down a city street. The next incident occurred on [XXX] , while exiting the highway and coming to a stop. My passenger, who happens to be a mechanical engineer asked i
... f bumped the gears for the engine to revv as it did, which I did not. The fourth occurrence was [XXX], while driving city streets and coming to a stop. I contacted Kia after the [XXX] incident and they drove the car and could not duplicate my safety concern. When the engine revvs while braking, there are no malfunction warnings messages and goes back to normal within 30 seconds or when I shift back to park and drive. As the safety issue is intermittent, not sure if there is a scheduled duplication of the occurrence. Nonetheless, in review of several complaints via NHTSA, I see a similarities in NHTSA Campaign 23-V-410 and wondering the applicability to my Sportage despite no recalls.
