Yukon break tail lamp problems. Brake lights work intermittently. Very dangerous! The break lights will work intermittently and then work. This was an issue with the 2016 models and GM issues a recall. There is no recall for 2017 which I don't understand because nothing has changed with the manufacturing process. I researched and there is a class action but in California only.

I am reporting a serious safety issue with my 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE that affects the braking system and related electronics: 1.The ABS stopped functioning previously. 2.Recently, the car displayed a “Brake Malfunction” warning for the first time, which appears when making sharp turns. 3.The TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) stopped working some time ago. These issues are extremely d
... angerous. The electronic brake booster and ABS module are critical for safe braking, especially in emergency situations. With the ABS and brake assist compromised, the pedal can suddenly become rock hard or soft, stopping distance increases dramatically, and traction control/ABS is unavailable during hard braking. I am concerned this is a systemic issue with the 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE braking system and not isolated to my vehicle. This failure could put drivers, passengers, and others on the road at serious risk. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential recall action to protect the safety of drivers nationwide.Read more

Component: BRAKE BOOSTER While driving on the interstate (at 80mph), check engine light came on and vehicle struggled to maintain power to stay at speed, would downshift for power to get back but as soon as it up shifted speed would drop again. My fuel mileage also dropped drastically as well as forced me to exit interstate on order to get gas. In attempt to stop at the stop sign, I discovered I
... had little to no brakes. Brake pedal was extreme hard and could not be pushed down. Luckily no cars where in front of me or coming when I reached the stop sign, had to be put into N to stop/stay stopped at the sign until it was safe to completely exit the off ramp and get to the nearby gas station to safely park the car. SAFETY: Highly compromised for myself as well as others as it was impossible to stop/slow quickly nearly at all. Independent garage: all issued (including engine power) were direct result of Brake Booster FAILURE. Component has been replaced and remedied with a new replacement brake booster. I obtained pictures as well as kept the original part as it has clear damage to one side due to manufacturer/mechanical defect. - Ford has recalled this exact part, cause & reason for thousands of OTHER newer models. However clearly 2017 escapes are also effected. At first glimpse, it disnt appear that the brakes were the entire cause of rhe issues, especially since the brake light failed to come on.Read more

I am submitting this recall request because my vehicle has experienced repeated incidents of a serious safety issue. While driving—most often on the highway—a warning appears that says “Smart System Brake Malfunction.” Immediately after, the car begins braking on its own without driver input. This has happened multiple times and, based on online reports, it appears to be affecting many Ma
... zda vehicles across different models and years. Each time, I have been forced to pull over, turn off the car, and restart it to temporarily resolve the issue. This is extremely dangerous, especially at highway speeds, as it creates a high risk of rear-end collisions and sudden loss of vehicle control. When reported to Mazda, the concern was dismissed as a “sensor issue,” but the repeated nature and widespread reports suggest a potential systemic defect that requires urgent investigation and recall.Read more

I had it towed to Maddie's Motor Sports on [XXX] in the Town of Spencerport, NY. They contacted Bombardier Recreational Products. Inc (BRP) who asked for photos from Maddie's as well as an accident/incident report to be completed by me. I did so and turned it in to Maddie's on August 5th. Shortly thereafter, the BRP representative - Bruno Bilodeau made a decision that it was an insurance issue and not a warranty issue despite the fact that he never physically inspected the motorcycle. This motorcycle had approximately 5100 miles on it at the time of the fire and was still under the manufacture's warranty (until July 2026). In addition I purchased multiple Extended Warranties to cover the motorcycle through the majority of the length of the loan. Calls and e-mails to BRP have gone unanswered. It is my position that BRP owes me a new motorcycle or they can fix mine. Mr. Bilodeau said the fire was caused by the filler cap not being secure and he could tell by a photo that was sent to him by Maddie's because he could see where fuel ran down the side of the gas tank. He's wrong - I made sure the cap was secure after fill up - it clicks when secure and I double check. While practicing parallel parking in the vehicle for about 1 hour, upon leaving the parking lot, there was a message that popped up on the dashboard reading, “SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST”. When driving the vehicle out the parking lot, the brakes were hard when pressing and the vehicle took a while to brake. I found myself braking at a far distance in order to stop the car at the nearest stop light. I
... turned my emergency lights and drove carefully home, since the engine light came on, which I parked and turned off the car. The next day, I turn on the vehicle and the engine light is still on, I take it to the local Auto Zone for a code, code P0556 is showing BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE SENSOR. I then call the dealership, they tow the vehicle and upon arrival they run diagnostics and text me the following message: “ Buckalew Chevrolet: They looked into all of those. They'd have been induced by the parking brake situation, however eveything in the computers have moved to "history" standing which means the vehicle no longer deems it an issue. If a code is not active or current, there is not much I can do with it. It shows us what the computer saw as having an issue, but not what the issue is or how it occured. Without us being able to duplicate it or it actively giving a signal that we can measure, we are kind of stuck without a paddle.” They next say they don’t find anything and they cannot fix it, there I have to go pick up my vehicle. Therefore I do, but the following weekend I go practice parallel parking AGAIN, and the issue happens all over again with the EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSIST turning on by itself, I continue to have braking problems. “STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE” reads on the dashboard, I call the dealership, they say I have to bring the vehicle in when it’s actively having the issue, and I explain that once I turned off the car, the dashboard message disappeared. SUMMARY: INTEGRATED BRAKE: The Integrated Brake (IB) system may not have been produced by the supplier according to specifications. If the IB system was not functioning properly, a warning lamp and message will be displayed in the instrument cluster. In August, this recall was expanded to include additional potentially affected vehicles. SAFETY RISK: In some cases, there will be a reduction in pow
... er assist braking, which could lead to an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. The Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system may not function, which could also affect braking performance as well as vehicle handling and control. However, fully mechanical braking is not affected and, if the IB system is not functioning properly, the parking (emergency) brake will be automatically activated to aid in braking performance and help maintain vehicle stability and control. REMEDY: The Integrated Brake (IB) system will be replaced for free by an authorized BMW center which should take about two to three hours. RECALL STATUS: Recall INCOMPLETE. Remedy not yet available This recall was issued on February 12, 2024, more than a year ago and the manufacturer has informed that the parts to fix this issue is on backorder. This is a safety issue.Read more

I am experiencing a recurring issue with my vehicle where the Park Assist system keeps activating unexpectedly, and the Check Engine Light (CEL) also comes on. I have taken the vehicle to O’Reilly Auto Parts for a diagnostic scan, and they reported no repairable codes present. Additionally, I visited Tires Plus, and their assessment was that if the light goes off on its own, then no issue is pre
... sent that requires repair. Despite the temporary disappearance of the warning lights, the issue keeps returning, which raises concern. The Park Assist activation is not being manually triggered and appears without warning, often accompanied by the CEL. This inconsistent behavior suggests there may be an intermittent or underlying issue with the vehicle’s sensors, wiring, or onboard systems that may not register a permanent diagnostic code. At this time, no repairs have been performed due to both locations stating that no actionable codes or faults were detected. However, the issue continues to happen periodically, and I would like further inspection or documentation of the problem, especially if it worsens or begins affecting vehicle safety or drivability.Read more

I am writing to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding the unavailability of Mopar part #68295368AC, the ABS Control Module for the 2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn. As a result, both the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and cruise control are inoperative. This creates a serious hazard: without a functioning ABS, the risk of skidding and collisions increases significantly. In some cases, own
... ers have reported vehicles rendered undriveable due to locked brakes caused by this failure. On [XXX], I brought my vehicle to Arrigo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Fort Pierce, Florida for scheduled 70,000-mile service. During intake, I showed the service advisor the illuminated ABS warning lights on my dashboard (see attached photos). Using On-Board Diagnostic Scanner (OBD service dongle), the advisor confirmed an active error code for internal ABS module failure. The service team performed the routine oil change and provided me a Multi-Point Inspection report. However, the report reflected all “green” results and contained no notation regarding the ABS failure, despite the confirmed error. After leaving the dealership and reviewing the documentation, I immediately returned. At that time, the advisor reconnected the diagnostic tool, again confirmed ABS Module Internal Failure, and explained the part was unavailable nationwide with no timeline for restock. I specifically requested to purchase the ABS module replacement for a total amount of $811.58 so this part would be noted in my service record. The service advisor added a note on the invoice that the Customer is aware that the part is on back order with no ETA at this time. Reference the following documentation dated 08/14/25: 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? We did researc
... h online and there were 33 other complaints from people with similar complaints. They reported that it was a master cylinder part and the dealers don’t have the part in stock. It could take up to two weeks for the part. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and my husband’s safety were at risk because we had to drive the car home. Our lives were at risk if the brakes failed. We took it to Key Motors a Chevy dealership in S. Burlington, VT. He said they would have to diagnose it themselves and the part could take two weeks or more. We cut our vacation short and could not stay in VT that long. We are elderly and did not have enough medicine, not to mention the cost of hotels. The VT dealer said without the computer, the car defaults to the driver like a 1980’s car. We took our chances and drove it home. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, but many people online have complained of the same problem. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? We had it towed to our local dealership, Bob Johnson Chevrolet. They just sent us a bill for $214 for certified multi point vehicle inspection. I still don’t know what problem. Onstar diagnosed it as ABS braking and stability diagnostic code; an issue has been detected in the Antilock Braking System. After rigorous research, it appears that my anti-lock braking system module has failed. A trusted family member that has worked on a plethora of vehicles during their career has performed an inspection and agrees. With the ABS module failing, this can be a significant safety issue for myself and others who own the same vehicle in both collision prevention and defensive driving maneuvers when neces
... sary. I have called Ram dealerships specifically to inquire if the part is available, and it is not available but is in high demand (even dealerships are having difficulty with acquiring the part). After a significant amount of research, it is blatantly obvious that I am not the only one who can't find this needed part. This is my only vehicle for transportation. I have ordered the part with a third-party auto part vendor ($915.00) and have received an email from them advising me that the part I ordered and need is out of stock, and my spot in line is reserved for when the part becomes available. After even more research, I have learned that the manufacturer for Ram parts no longer manufactures this particular part. There currently are warning lights on (ABS, traction control, and the brake indicator) they have remained on since diagnosing this issue and have not gone away. With that being said, this can have a significant impact on immediate braking if necessary, and can lead to other problems such as stability control, transmission issues, uneven braking, parking brake failure, and ultimately total brake failure while in motion. This is not just an issue for me, but apparently for a significant amount of 2013-2015 Ram owners as well. I am on a budget; there is zero supply and high demand. Ram owners are hemorrhaging money regarding repairs to this necessary component for safe vehicle functionality. With this being my mode of transportation, I'm having to be even more aware of extra safety precautions which adds a significant amount of unnecessary stress as a driver.Read more

While driving my 2025 Acura RDX A-Spec Advance (approx. 5,000 miles) at about 40 mph through a light curve, the vehicle suddenly lost power steering mid-turn. The dash displayed: “Electric Power Steering System Problem. Steering Assist Not Available. Do Not Drive.” This was not just a loss of assist. The wheel felt like it was resisting input and was nearly impossible to turn, locking the car
... into an off-road path. I narrowly missed a curb and a large tree by inches, only avoiding collision by forcing the wheel with maximum effort while applying heavy brakes. If this had occurred at higher speed or on a mountain road, the result could have been catastrophic. Once stopped, five additional warnings appeared: Brake System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, and Low Speed Braking Control Problem. After restarting, most warnings remained, though steering assist and brakes seemed temporarily normal. I cautiously drove to a nearby lot, then to the dealership. At the service center, the errors cleared only after shutting down the engine. Staff first suggested a “loose battery cable.” When I mentioned that other 2025 RDX owners have reported the same issue, I was told not to trust the internet. They kept the vehicle overnight under warranty. Initially no loaner vehicle was available, which forced my wife to leave work for daycare pickup. After she called management directly, a loaner was provided. At the time of this report, no diagnosis has been given. Service staff speculated it could be nothing or it could be a failed steering column, which matches reports from other owners. This sudden steering failure, combined with simultaneous warnings across multiple safety systems, created an immediate risk of serious crash. The incident occurred only two days after routine service at the same dealership.Read more

The dealer has not indicated when a permanent fix will be available. Due to the ongoing safety risk and extended timeline for repair, I am requesting a manufacturer buyback at this time. Stellantis has not provided any acceptable fix which does not impose financial hardship while the vehicle remains unsafe. Impact / Safety Concern: -The vehicle cannot be safely driven. -Significant risk of injury or property damage due to failure of critical braking and stability systems. Requested Action: I request federal oversight and that Stellantis provide a permanent remedy, including: -Manufacturer Buyback – Repurchase of my current 2018 Ram 2500 at 120% of the current market value; or -Manufacturer Replacement – A comparable vehicle with no unremedied recalls, free of the defect, and without additional cost Legal Assertion: I am submitting this complaint in good faith under 49 U.S.C. §30166 and related federal safety defect statutes. We noticed that the brakes were really soft. We literally had to push on the brakes with excessive force. We took it to Lynch - West Bend, WI for a service call and was told that nothing was wrong with it. After leaving the dealership we did our own research (the hubby is a certified master technician himself). Come to find out through GM, contacts through TBM brakes and Duramax Forum.com "bra
... ke pedal effort" we found the issue and a solution and we fixed it ourselves. This truck is brand spanking new and the dealership threw their hands in the air with a safety issue and let us drive out of the parking lot. Imagine driving away after being told no issue to end up in an accident due to failed brakes. Who's to blame for that? Certainly not the customer. It was only when the new car sales manager took the truck for a drive, he agreed that there was a problem. - too late we took it home and fixed it ourselves. This problem needs to be looked into seeing its a known issue!Read more

I'd like to note that I've seen a large amount of 2019 Genesis G70 RWD drivers make the same complaint as myself, the VSS completely and suddenly just stopped working. No heavy or hazardous driving to report. The VSS ties into the ABS, forward collision, and blind-spot safety cameras making them all inoperable.

On July 16, 2025, at approximately 6:10 PM, I was driving home on the highway at around 65 mph when I attempted to brake. The brake pedal went completely to the floor, and no braking occurred. At the same time, the following warning lights and messages suddenly appeared on the dashboard: - “Service Park Brake” - “Service ABS” - “Service Electronic Stability Control” - “Auto Ho
... ld Unavailable” - “4WD System Temporarily Unavailable” I was able to maneuver the vehicle into the emergency lane without colliding with other vehicles or causing a high-speed rear-end accident. The vehicle came to a gradual stop but would not restart afterward. This failure occurred without any prior warning and posed a serious risk to my safety and the safety of others on the road. I do not know how an accident was avoided, as the failure was sudden and could have resulted in a tragedy. The vehicle is a 2-year-old Jeep, with approximately 36,000 miles, and has been regularly serviced by Jeep, most recently about one month prior to the incident. After the incident, I had the vehicle inspected by a Jeep dealership, which confirmed the failure and identified a defective brake control module as the root cause. The component is available for inspection upon request.Read more

... termined that the brake sensor needed to be replaced. The dealer and another dealer, Mangino Chevrolet, INC. I was pulling into a parking space. Hit the brake. Instead of stopping, the car accelerated, jumping a curb and barreling across into another business drive. It hit a sign and a stone garbage can, which caused the car to recognize a collision and automatically go into park which caused it to stop. If it hadn’t been for the stone garbage can, it would have gone through the store window where pe
... ople were sitting. Luckily at that moment there wasnt a car parked in the space or something coming down the road. Because I didn’t understand what was happening , so I looked at my foot to see if I had pushed down on the gas instead of the brake. My foot was firmly on the brake. I talked to the local Honda dealership. They had never seen that issue before. They said they could do the diagnostic which I would have to pay for, but couldn’t promise it would show what happened. I also called Honda customer service. They started a claim, but also would do nothing unless diagnostics showed the problem and also said it may not. I was very fortunate that i didn’t kill or seriously harm someone. I am now scared to drive the vehicle. If I had not looked at my foot to see where it was placed, I would say possibly driver error; but I know it wasn’t. My foot was on the brakeRead more

On August 18th, 2025 around 6:45 pm, our anti-lock break system stopped working, started smoking and caught fire. The fire came up through the engine under the hood and melted everything. There were no warning signs. Just smoke and flames. Luckily we were able to pull over and exit the vehicle. The fire was extinguished with 2 fire extinguishers. The car is a total loss.
