I have had the truck for 2 weeks. Three times I've almost rearended a car in front because of a braking system that doesn't stop the truck quickly enough. The pedal will travel 6" at times before it engages. This is very dangerous especially when braking when travelling around curves or round a bouts. Brake lines have completely rusted through. Car had additional rust issues on the subframe which Mercedes admitted and replaced as part of an extended warranty . My 2021 Lincoln Aviator grand touring PHEV has on 3 separate occasions randomly gone into “brick” mode where power is to some components like the Sync screen, and some lights, but main dash won’t boot, the lock/unlock doesn’t work but lock icon flashes on door panel, the vehicle won’t start. This is after short trips out with my family for the evening. Not a fob issue. All 3 times the sa
... me. First occurrence at just over 11,000 miles, again in Sept 2023, and happening again June 2025. Roadside assistance dispatches tow trucks, the vehicle can never be jump started. Electric parking brake is engaged and will not disengage even when manually put in neutral. Always takes dispatching several different tow trucks to get one equipped with skates to drag the vehicle on to a flatbed tow truck, or old school wheel lift truck to be able to tow the vehicle since the electric parking brake will not disengage in this situation. Last time this happened it took 6 separate trucks to come out over 3 days to find one that could tow it in metro Detroit, the heart of the auto industry. This is a defect in the system of my vehicle that poses a safety issue because it prevents a regular tow truck from being able to tow this vehicle. I have had the dealership look at it many times, there is no fix, tech says it is a defect. Each time I have reported it to the Lincoln Customer Experience Center, they don’t care enough to do anything. Not sure how to get help but I’m probably not the only one with this safety defect. There are other safety issues. The safety stop for the lift gate doesn’t always work and will hit you hard without stopping for an obstruction. I also have acceleration hesitation when stopped and turning in traffic, risk for accident. The electrical problems with my Aviator are endless but leaving me stranded with my children and unable to easily get help is a serious problem and unacceptable. Please let me know how you can help. Sincerely a concerned mother of 2 little boys.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding the unavailability of a critical safety component for my vehicle. Multiple dealers have informed me that the part is not available through the Mopar parts chain. However, the identical part is currently available for purchase by consumers through MoparGenuineParts.com (111 Bond Street, Westbury, NY 11590) at the following link: [XXX] ). One verified buyer eve
... n confirmed this discrepancy. As [XXX] wrote in his 5-star review dated 04/03/25: *"ABS PART – Fixed my problem just what I needed. Dealership said they could not get to because of part shortage??"* This highlights a troubling inconsistency: Mopar’s authorized dealer network is unable to supply parts that consumers can easily purchase online. It makes no sense that the official supply chain is cut off while direct-to-consumer sales remain active. The component in question is critical to the safe operation of the vehicle. If it fails at high speed, the driver could experience sudden loss of braking or steering control. Such a failure poses an imminent danger of severe accidents, rollovers, or fatalities, both to the vehicle occupants and to others on the roadway. My concern is twofold: (1) why Mopar dealers cannot access parts that clearly exist in Mopar’s system, and (2) how long-term safety is being compromised if consumers must resort to inconsistent third-party availability for essential components. This disconnect directly threatens public safety. I respectfully request NHTSA investigate why Mopar’s dealer network is unable to provide critical safety components, while consumers can obtain the exact same part online, and whether this practice constitutes a systemic safety hazard that warrants recall, investigation, or enforcement action. In February of 2024, my ABS, traction control and brake warning lights came on. This disables the ABS, traction control and cruise control. After scanning the vehicle for codes, there is a C2200 internal fault for the ABS control module. Making sure it is not a sensor issue, I tested all four wheels and all check out fine. It is a known problem that Priuses manufactured from 2004 to 2015 have issues with the brake master cylinder and brake booster accumulator. When the vehicle computer recognizes an internal leak (ABS C1391) or other issue in the accumulator pump, it completely disables the regenerative braking system, which significantly reduces braking power. In my case, the problem is intermittent, and the vehicl
... e computer will occasionally clear the code and operate normally. A slight whirring sound can still be heard (indicative of an internal leak), leading me to conclude that the part is still damaged, even when the code clears itself. This continues to affect my and my passengers' safety because the problem comes back with no warning while driving. Many times at highway speeds, the regenerative braking system will shut off while decelerating. This has caused scares and near-accidents. Imagine you are approaching stopped traffic while traveling 65 miles per hour. You press the brake to start slowing down, and while decelerating, the dashboard lights up and the brake pedal goes spongey. Now, you must slam the brake all the way into the firewall to engage the disks and pads exclusively. Aside from the imminent terror of hitting the car in front of you, now you are skidding on the brakes, worried the car behind you will crush the rear. Sooner or later this will cause somebody to get into an accident when a split-second decision cannot to be made quickly enough. The issue is well-known, and a warranty recall was issued, but it does not cover any vehicles over a certain age and mileage. It has been reproduced by my local mechanic and inspected by a Prius specialist, who both quote about $3800 to fully replace and recalibrate the failing parts. There were no indicators of this issue before it happened to my wife and I the first time on the highway. While I am grateful that nobody was injured, the situation could be completely different had the problem occurred just seconds later.Read more

I own a 2016 Ram 1500. The ABS control module has failed, which has completely disabled both the ABS system and the traction control system. This is a serious safety hazard because the vehicle now has no anti-lock braking or stability control, creating dangerous conditions in wet or emergency braking situations. •Component/System Failed: The ABS control module has malfunctioned. The part is stil
... l installed on my truck because I need it in place to drive the vehicle to work, but it can be made available for inspection if required. •Safety Risk: The failure disables both ABS and traction control, greatly increasing the risk of loss of control and extended stopping distances in wet, slippery, or emergency conditions. This creates a direct safety risk to both myself and others on the road. •Dealer Confirmation: I contacted a Ram dealer who confirmed that no replacement parts are available and that they do not know when or if parts will become available. •Inspection/Verification: The fault has been verified with an ABS diagnostic fault code. Local shops confirm this is a common failure. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, but the failure is documented. •Warning Lights/Symptoms: The ABS warning lamp, traction control light, and brake system light are all illuminated on the dashboard. These first appeared at the time of the failure and remain constantly lit. The OEM (Stellantis/FCA) is not offering a new replacement ABS module. Multiple rebuild companies have told me they cannot repair this unit because the required electronic parts are unavailable. The only option available is extremely high-priced used modules from salvage sources, which are unreliable and difficult to obtain. This situation leaves owners without a safe or affordable path to restore critical safety systems. Despite being a known issue, there is no recall or service campaign from the manufacturer. Incident date: Aug 19, 2025
Summary: Unintended full brake engagement at highway speeds caused by electronic parking brake/Auto Hold button defect. Extreme risk of collision. Details: On [XXX], my wife was driving our 2023 Kia Forte GT Line when the Auto Hold and electronic parking brake system malfunctioned. The system fully engaged the brakes without warning while traveling at highway speed, scraping the brake rotors and
... creating an immediate risk of being rear-ended. This occurred multiple times. The following day ([XXX], the brake pedal would not depress at all, rendering the vehicle undrivable. The dealership (McFarland Kia, North Hampton, NH) diagnosed “a sticky substance” inside the electronic parking brake button, located next to the cupholder. There have never been any liquid spills in this vehicle. The more likely cause is a combination of factory lubrication and normal dust/debris accumulation over time. If such a small amount of dust or residue can trigger unintended full braking while driving, it is a dangerous design flaw that poses a life-threatening hazard to drivers and passengers. The vehicle was repaired after I paid $284.99 out-of-pocket, but I am pursuing reimbursement through my Zurich Vehicle Service Contract. I have also requested an independent third-party brake and rotor inspection, as this defect may have caused further damage. Why this is a safety issue: Sudden, uncommanded braking at highway speeds can cause high-speed rear-end collisions. The defect can occur without visible warning and without any driver action. The defect can be triggered by minimal non-liquid debris, which is unavoidable over the life of a vehicle. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether this is an isolated case or part of a larger design defect in the Kia Forte’s electronic parking brake/Auto Hold system. This condition should not be possible in a vehicle that meets federal safety standards. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

(1) On Saturday 8/23/25, the braking system failed while driving on gravel roads going downhill.
(2) I could not stop the vehicle going downhill. I thought I was going to crash. As I started to go downhill @ ~5 mph, I put my foot on the brake pedal, the car would not brake. Pressing hard or lightly didn’t make a difference. It felt like an anti-lock brake (ALB) pulse 1X and then gave up re
... leasing all braking even though the foot is on the brake. The 2-way road is heavily used, smooth, wide, and maintained. Other vehicles were going down the gravel fine. The grade is ~10%. (3) The problem was reproduced numerous times on 8/24/25, while my husband drove on gravel going downhill and attempting to slow down or stop the car. This gravel is with potholes and some rocks starting w/ grades 5-6%. I was a passenger in the car. At one point I thought we were going to hit the on-coming car, because the brakes were not working properly. (4) An appointment is being made w/ the dealer to inspect the car. (5) (On 8/23) I am not aware of warnings or messages. (On 8/24) A “ABS” alert appeared on the display sometimes. Additional Info: (6) On 6/15/25, I drove on gravel with 5-10% grades w/o issues for ~6 miles. When I pressed on the brake pedal, the car slowed down without issues. ALB did not engage. On August 15, 2025, my 2010 Mazda 3 began displaying the ABS warning light intermittently while driving. The ABS system is a critical safety feature, and when the light comes on, I am unsure if the braking system will function properly in an emergency. I scanned the vehicle using a Foxwell diagnostic tool and retrieved the following ABS-related fault codes: C0020:1C-2B – ABS Pump Motor Control
... Circuit U0425:62-60 – Invalid Data Received from IPC/ABS Control Module U0140:00-28 – Lost Communication with Body Control Module These issues are consistent with Mazda Technical Service Bulletin 04-002/13 (July 17, 2013), which documents ABS pump motor failures caused by poor motor brush contact. This is a serious safety concern because the ABS system fails without warning, leaving the driver and passengers at risk of brake loss in critical conditions. Why this should be investigated: The defect occurs intermittently, making it difficult to predict or reproduce. It matches a known documented defect acknowledged by Mazda in TSB 04-002/13. Other owners have reported similar ABS pump failures in Mazda vehicles of this generation. The failure compromises safe braking and should be treated as a safety defect warranting investigation and possible recall. Action Requested: I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this recurring ABS pump/motor failure in 2010 Mazda 3 vehicles and determine whether a recall should be issued to address this known defect.Read more

... d in warning lights illuminating on the dashboard. Upon diagnostic inspection, it was confirmed that the ABS manifold (also referred to as the ABS modulator or hydraulic unit) had malfunctioned. This failure compromised the vehicle’s ability to maintain braking stability during emergency or slippery-road conditions. I understand that ABS systems are critical for preventing wheel lockup and maintaining vehicle control during braking. The failure of such a key component can severely increase the risk of a crash, especially under adverse driving conditions. Additional Concerns: This appears to be a known issue based on numerous similar complaints reported online by other 2013 - 2017 Honda owners. The cost of repair is substantial, with replacement estimates exceeding $1,500–$2,000. Despite the safety implications, Honda has not issued a recall or technical service bulletin to address this widespread problem. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this issue represents a systemic safety defect in the 2013 Honda Accord EX-L. The failure of a core safety system such as ABS warrants a thorough review to determine whether regulatory action or a manufacturer recall is appropriate. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

Hi, i am concerned about the safety of my vehicle. i brought it to the attention of ford motor company and an authorized dealer that i am getting a parking brake warning on my dashboard. the authorized dealer inspected it, and said that the braking system is contaminated due to liquid spilling from the damaged cupholders. i communicated to them, that 1. the cupholders are clearly not strong enough
... to be placed over a critical component of the vehicle such as a braking system. 2. i think that this is a design flaw as there are normally drips and spills from having liquid in your car, especially in the designated place for it (cupholders). I should not be held liable for the repair to the braking system. they insisted this should be for my account, and if i decided not to fix it, it could lead to the entire braking system malfunctioning while the car is in motion or at a stand still. I am noting this with the department of transportation for investigation hopefully prior to an incident/accident taking place and the risk of a fatality, i have communicated to the dealer but they feel they have no accountability for this. while this may seem to be a cosmetic issue "just a cupholder", it is directly over a critical system of the car, and based on research i have done, i am not the only one with a broken cupholder in my ford explorer.Read more

When starting the vehicle, the message center displays "Loss Communications Brake System Control Module A." The vehicle losses power steering, speedometer indication, tire pressure monitoring, and stability control. There are numerous codes displayed for Brake System, Power Steering, Parking Brake and Stability Control. This is the third time that this event has happened. Turning the vehicle
... off and restarting after approximately 1 hour the codes were clear and everything appears to work properly. This event occurs randomly and resets after the vehicle is turned off and restarted after a period of approximately 1 hour. The loss of power steering and speed indication is a safety hazard. I have been driving this vehicle when the power steering and speedometer stopped working. The steering requires a lot more effort to turn and you do not know the current speed of the vehicle. The BMW dealer charged us the customer for a software update to fix this issue. We are not confident that the vehicle is fixed because this is a random event. I believe this should be a safety recall. There is a recall on BMW 2023 and 2024 models for the same issue. The recall does not include the 2022 model at this time. Codes displayed: U0129, U0418, P15C9, P15C8, P15B9, P15B8, P0507, P0610, P152B, P152A.Read more

When turning my car on, I received warning lights for the ABS, Stability Track, and Traction Control systems. These stated they had all been deactivated. The Check Engine light also illuminated. I was in a safe, open lot location so I put my truck in drive to confirm this was not a dash/technical issue. The brakes were in fact almost completely deactivated. It took me over 100 feet to come to a st
... op. The brake pedal had slightly retracted also causing more issue in trying to reach the brake pedal. Once stopped, I checked the VIN and discovered this recall for the vehicle. The major complaint comes from the recall repair process with Ram/MOPAR. I took the truck to my nearest Ram dealership. Once in, they advised I needed two sensors replaced in the front wheel-well per the recall guidelines. The service department of the dealership further stated they could only order ONE sensor per month per dealership. Not per vehicle, per person, etc. They could as a dealership only order one sensor a month, meaning nobody else could come in for this recall repair while my FIRST sensor was being replaced. Now I am stuck waiting over a month for the second sensor to be ordered. They refused to give me a courtesy vehicle to drive for the time being so I am forced to drive my Ram with this recall issue with a major safety concern. I contacted Ram/MOPAR about this to find out if the dealership was correct in the part ordering statement and they could not give me a straight answer. Considering the brakes are about the most critical piece of safety equipment in a vehicle, I find this by Ram completely unacceptable and opening the door for potential bad things down the road.Read more

My 2018 equinox was running perfectly. Then several warning lights popped up on the dash. I pulled into my daughter's school and didn't have power breaks. Even though brake fluid was full. It wouldn't start back up. A mechanic shop looked at the car and said they thought the timing was off. But couldn't guarantee it. Another mechanic looked at it a few days later and said I needed a new power b
... reak pump that the had broken at the camshaft connect. He said the car would need to rebuild the motor or buy a used motor because of the damage. I have heard of several people who have had the same exact issue with the chevy 1.5 turbo motor in many chevy vehicles. There should be a recall as there is never a warning that the vacuum break pump is getting ready to go bad and cause severe engine damage.Read more

I was driving on the highway in stop-and-go traffic when suddenly I found myself depressing the brake pedal to the floor and the car would not stop. Additionally, the eyesight function that prevents forward collisions did not alert for obstruction or stop the vehicle. I was able to put the vehicle in park and then tried to reengage the vehicle, but the brakes failed to respond. I was in the middle
... lane of a major highway. My vehicle could have harmed someone else, in addition to myself, and I was also at risk by being stopped in the middle of traffic. I could have died, had I been traveling at actual highways speed. No lights or warnings were on in the vehicle before, during, or after the incident. As of now, the dealership has been unable to replicate the issue, thought they still have the vehicle. They have not been able to identify the cause of the issue, but have also been unwilling to put the tests they have done in writing for me at this point. At this point, I have little confidence in my vehicle, despite it being a 2022 with low miles. I am terrified that this intermittent issue could happen again. The week prior, I had an experience where the acceleration and braking were not functioning as expected, but I had just pulled out of a parked position and this resolved after putting the vehicle in park and reengaging the vehicle.Read more

I was taking my daughter to school; we were about 5 minutes from our home. I came up to a red light and stopped no problem, it turned green and as I proceeded through the intersection to the next red light to make my left-hand turn to get on the freeway, my rearview mirror camara flickered and that was my first indication that something was wrong. After that the ac started turning on and off and m
... y dash lights all started lighting up. Fortunately, I was only going about 15-20 mph, so I was able to get the car to stop without incident. I had a few seconds to decide what to do, I determined that making a U-turn when the light turned green was the safest option, that's when I realized I had no power steering. I was able to safely get the car back to my driveway and called a tow truck. The car is now at JK Chevrolet Nederland, Tx and now waiting to hear diagnostic.Read more
